Times value in waveform to spreadsheet

Hi!
Could I send to spreadsheet the times value generate by waveform chart/graph?? Together with the y-axis values,Thanks

Perhaps you could try reading your data as a waveform instaed. If you are using the DAQmx Read VI, this is selectable by choosing from the drop down menu on the bottom of the VI. How are you reading your data, and what are you using to write your data to a spreadsheet? You first need to check that time information is being made available, then ensure it is written to a file.

  • How to update the absolute time value in waveform chart for labview 6i?

    Hey there,
I'm developing a control system using labview 6i on win 2000 os.I'm receiving the sensor data every minute and i want to display the data on a waveform chart with absolute time scale on x-axes. I'm using the property nodes for the offset, multiplier and maximum values putting them outside the while loop and giving them input using get date/time in seconds function. the problem is that the time doesn't gets updated w/ refernce to the computer time and after a certain period the time shown on x-axes lags by several hours. any advise?

Posting an example ussually help us nail these types of issues fast.
I am therfore forced to guess.
Do you have your code written such that the scale operations occur before the loop?
The next thing I have to suspect (not being able to see your code) is if your dt is correct. If your dt is larger than what the chart is set for, then the time will fall behind.
I have included an image showing how the chart can be used to show multiple sample rate plots such that the t0 of the readings are used to control how the readings are displayed. This example uses waveform data types (I believe they were available back in 6i). It should serve as a guide to do what you want.
I suggest you start by recreating the demo and play with it until you have what
you will need in your app.
The beauty of this method is it lets you use the chart to plot signals acquired at different frequecies and plot them all together.

  • Sampling waveform values and writing corresponding time values

I am sampling the frequency of a generator set using a 1126 module. The frequency values I am getting are approximately 60 Hz.
I am sampling at 150 samples per second and using the Index Waveform Array function to peel off the frequency waveform. Then I am running that waveform wire (brown) through a Get Waveform components function to seperate the t0, dt, and y components. I am taking the oranage wire from the Y portion to write those values to a spreadsheet file. Then I want to build an array of the frequency values and the time values and write that to file (transposing the array if need be).
I want one column to be the frequency values and the second column to be the correspond
ing time values for each of those data points. For example, starting at t=0:
    Frequency (Hz) Time (s)
    60.0 0
    60.1 0.0066666
    59.9 0.0133333
    60.2 0.0200000
    60.1 0.0266666
    |
    |
    | end of first second
    |
    V
    60.5 0.9866666
    60.1 0.9933333
    60.0 1.0000000
    59.7 1.0066666
The time interval increments by 1/150 of a second each time a sample is taken (150 times per second).
I tried to use the Get Waveform Time Array function, but that returned a 10 digit number that did not appear to be related to the time in seconds.
Can someone please advise me on how I can get the corresponding time values in seconds for waveform data points in the situation described above? Thanks!

Since you are aquiring at a constant sample time, you could try using the ramp pattern to generate the time column.
I attach a sample VI in which I generate the ramp starting from waveform characteristics and then create the 2d array to save to disk with Write to Spreadsheet File.vi.
    Hope this helps

  • Time when the waveform value cross a determined level

    Hi all,
I'm using PCI-5112 with Labvew to capture a waveform and i'm getting a triangle form waveform type. How to find the time when the waveform value cross some predetermined values. To put it more clearly, I attached a picture. In my picture, I want to know TH (time interval when the Y value cross 100), TM ( time interval when the Y value cross 50), TL (time interval when the Y value cross 20). How to put these measurements through Labview program? Any clue or example would be very helpful. Thx

You can do this using the built-in NI-SCOPE functions or the LabVIEW pulse waveform measurements VIs by tweaking the reference levels appropriately.  However, given the noise level in your signal, you may not be happy with the result, since these measurements are done essentially on a point-to-point basis.  A more robust option is to find the approximate location of the level crossing, take N points on either side of it, do a simple curve fit to this data, then use the curve fit to determine the actual level crossing.  A line fit would work on the first part of your curve, an exponetial or parabolic fit on the second.  A further optimization would be to use a robust fitting method, but it does not look like you need to go that far.
If you need more details on any of these methods, let us know.

  • How to display value in waveform chart

    dear sir
i am using labview 7.0 with dsc module for scada.
now i want to display the difference between two tags value in waveform chart. Also i want to display that difference value on y axis and system date and time on x axis continously. Also if there will change in that tag value then there should be reflection of that value on wavwform chart with system time. Really i am in trouble. please help me.

    Nadim,
Why would an XY graph be preferable to using a Waveform Chart where the "t0" is the time of the measurement?
    I don't get it.

  • Want a constant time axis in waveform chart

    hello,
my time axis in waveform chart is changing .how can i keep it constant say 1-100 .the whole point of this is to make waveform chart luk like a CRO.please need help.
    thanks in advace
    naveen.rabelli

I don't think what you're asking for is possible, due to the nature of the chart - it accepts Y values and inserts the X value automatically. Offhand, I can think of 3 solutions -
The bad one - constantly change the offset by moving it backwords. You will probably have flickering.
The workaround one - Paste a text box over the first number saying 1 and another over the second number saying 100.
The probably most correct one - Use a XY graph. Just have a 1D array of 100 elements and append it to a second 1D array with 1..100. Wire the 2D array into the graph terminal.

  • Tachometer time synchronized with waveform time

We ran into an issue trying to record both the speed/time from the OAT
    Tachometer.vi
and waveform data from our other channels.  The problem is that the
time shown in the waveform data is different from that in the tach
signal.  I need to make sure my tach signal rpm data is synchronized
with the data I recorded from my other channels (pressure, temp, etc).
I am recording data to two different excel files using two
different Write Labview Measurement.vis.  I have the "enable" switches
tied together.  I record the data to excel from my .dat files.  Since
the tachometer signal does not send "0 rpm" there is nothing in the
excel file until I have a speed profile.  So I wait to record until I
have a clear speed profile around 120 rpm and then record data.  Once
in the excel files, I subtract the offset from the tachometer signal
(Excel file #1) and the other waveform data (Excel file #2) so that
both start at time zero.  I get about 0.5s extra recorded samples from
#2.  Why do #1 and #2 not match?  Is there any way I can ensure that
the data I am taking is occurring at the same time and one set does not
    lag the other?
    Thanks.

    Hi all
I also had a similar problem. In my VI, I want to acquire a waveform, starting from the moment when the speed goes over a threshold.
I have a loop that acquires a every iteration 1.5s of waveform and computes speed profile, then tries to cut the waveform when the speed exceeds the threshold value.
Unluckily, watching the speed profile generated by the VI "OAT Analog Tacho Process" (whose reset connector is set to FALSE) I can see that the time values are not in phase with the acquisition timelenght.
To give an example, at the 4th iteration of the loop, where I would expect values between 4.5s and 6s, usually the speed profile has a timelenght ranging from a bit more than 3s to 4.7s, which means, it is not a problem due to the loss of a cycle for initialization issues, otherwise its points would stay inside the range 3s-4.5s
I thought it could be a problem of buffer underflow, but even increasing the buffer lenght doesn't solve the problem.
May it be an effect of the interpolation in the computation of speed profile? Or do I lose some samples during the loop? (I close the acquisition channel only at the end of the VI, in every loop I just call the read VI)
    Thanks in advance

  • Using COUNTIF on time values in pop-up menu (employee schedule template)

I have modified the Numbers employee schedule template to my liking and it works very well. I would like to add a column to the beginning which shows, at a glance, how many people I have scheduled for AM shifts and PM shifts on a given day. My AM shifts start at 9:00 AM and my PM shifts end at 6:30 or 8:30 PM.
So I thought I could use COUNTIF, but after I set the array, I cannot get the condition right to return anything except "0". How do you make it detect the appropriate times? The times in each cell for In and Out times are selected using a pop-up menu, just like the template.
Here is what I tried: =COUNTIF(E3:AE3,"9:00 AM")
What should the condition be to return a proper count?

    ac,
You shouldn't feel badly about having trouble with this template. It is a rather tricky one. The values in the Pop-Up menus are Date/Time values. That is to say, they have year, month, day, hour and minute components, even if only the hours and minutes are displayed. So if you only compare to the hours and minutes, you will never get a match.
I don't know if you have experienced this yet, but when you changed the Pop-Up menu content, you probably entered the current year, month and day unknowingly and will have trouble doing math against the Pop-Up content that was originally in the template.
My suggestion in your case would be to convert the time references to decimal hours before doing a comparison. For instance, if the time you wish to compare to is in cell C4, you could extract the decimal hours with =HOUR(C4)+MINUTE(C4)/60
Remember that the hours will reflect a 24-hour day, so times in the afternoon will run from 12.0 to 23.99...
Then after converting to decimal, instead of using "9:00 AM" for the COUNTIF criteria, use 9.
There are probably ways to do this using the Duration format as well, but I prefer the decimal hours.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lead time values are not appearing in the report for current year.

    Hi friends,
Iam checking a report in production.  where lead time values are displayed as 0 for 1 key figure lead time3 (w/0 dim) . i found there is a formula for this it shows like NODIM ( 'Lead Time 3' ).and there is a value for cal.lead time
how can i get values in the report.
    Thanks ,
    VRV.

    Hi,
Although your question is not clear, I understood that the formula built on that KF is NODIM. Basically it means, units of measurement is not considered when calculating.
    Eg: 5 Minutes + 5 Kilograms = 10
You please try to analyze your KF by the above logic. Then you would be able to figure out why the data is not appearing in the report..
    Assign if helps...

  • "The movie contains an incorrect time value" error - saving a trimmed video

I am attempting to trim a video shot on my Samsung CL65. The video was shot in High Quality HD 1280 x 720. I open the video in QuickTime and then use the Trim command to remove the last part of the video and then close it to Save it. When I save it I get the following error: "The document SAM_0306.MP4 could not be saved as "SAM_0306". The movie contains an incorrect time value." I think this has to do with an encoding error in the original file or in the trimmed file but I have no idea how to get around it.
    Any ideas?

This info probably won't help with your problem, but it's information for others who get this error.
It's probably the software that made the MP4. ffmpegX, for example, and the mencoder program inside it, do this with every H264 encoding when the video is longer than 1 hour. Time codes are correct up to 1 hour, then the seconds value gets wacky (3600 is added to it). Quicktime won't save a movie with a time code like 1:20:3623.120 (although it will correctly display 1:20:23 in the player).
Apple used to offer quicktime scripts that would allow you to see what the time code in a stream really looked like. Applescript appears to have officially and quietly gone missing, though, and those scripts are no longer available online as far as I can tell. There were some really handy other scripts that would allow you to view all sorts of movie properties and manipulate tracks (great for syncing poorly synced sound, for example), but time code problems like the above would invariably mean the movie couldn't be saved.

  • How can I use two drop down lists for one time value?

I want to enter the length of time that someone does an activity in hours and minutes using two drop down lists, then enter them as a single time value (H:i:s) in Mysql.
I've used the basic drop down lists, and a few different variations of the following with no success (seconds is a hidden field with a value of "00"):
                           GetSQLValueString(strftime('%H:%i:%s', strtotime($_POST["sleeptimemin"]." ".$_POST["sleeptimehr"]." ".$_POST["seconds"])), "date"),
This returns 00:00:16, no matter what is selected on the drop down list.
    Any help would be appreciated.

MySQL stores times in human-understandable format, using the 24-hour clock.
    GetSQLValueString($_POST['sleeptimehr'] . ':' . $_POST['sleeptimemin'] . ':00', "date"),

  • Pop-up menu to list multiple time values (8:00 AM etc.) ?

I was looking at the option of using a pop-up menu to select times (8:00 AM etc.) from to keep from having to enter all the times in my spreadsheet manually. Has anyone done this before and is there a download or widget for this? Unfortunately for me, I would need it to be in increments of 5 minutes starting from 7AM to 7PM or so, which would be a tremendous amount of parameters added to a traditional pop-up menu.
    Thanks for any input.

    T25 wrote:
Thanks for the insight, it seems to make good sense to me with your process to create multiple pop-ups and/or sliders. Since I'm still new to iWork Numbers though, are the tables you illustrated in your reply saved in a separate spreadsheet to use as a reference for the pop-up in other, separate spreadsheets? Is that what LOOKUP is used for (to reference another sheet)?
My invoice has a single cell for an "IN" time and another for an "OUT" time; all incorporated to a fairly "busy" invoice that can't accommodate any additional cells in those areas.
Both tables are on the same sheet, but I placed them on separate tables on that sheet.
They don't have to be on separate tables, and they don't have to be on the same sheet, but they do have to be in the same document, as Numbers does not provide for linking to separate documents/files.
With the busy invoice in your case, you could place the popup and slider cells (two of each) on a separate table, and only the result cells on the same table as your invoice. The popups and sliders could go on the same table as the lookup array, but that table would then have to be both visible and unlocked.
Placing the Lookup array on a separate table allows you to lock that table to prevent accidental changes to it. You can also easily hide the Lookup table by placing it behind the main table (your invoice), or on a second sheet in your document.
Placed on the same table as the rest of the invoice, you can still hide it simply by hiding the two columns containing the lookup information.
An alternate method, requiring no extra cells or tables would be to Use Insert Date and Time (in the Insert menu, or from the keyboard with shift-option-command-D ) to insert the date and time directly.
There are some complications with this which might make it unusable, depending on how many people need to be trained and how well they take to training. Insert Date and Time starts with the assumption that what you really want to do is insert the date. Changing its mind takes a couple of extra steps that must be done immediately, and each time.
    1. Click on the cell to select it.
    2. Go Insert > Date and Time (or press shift-option-command-D )
    3. Before taking any other action, double click the cell (which will now be displaying the current date) to open a small dialogue.
    4. In the dialogue, use the popup menu to choose one of the Time only formats.
    5. Click outside the dialogue to dismiss it.
The cell will now contain the current Date and Time value, and will display the current time.
Note that the Time, when inserted this way, will be the time that the insertion was done, and won't be rounded to the nearer five minutes.
You'll find a discussion of LOOKUP (and the two related functions, VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP in the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide, and an excellent overview of Numbers (including explanation of the terms I've used above) in the Numbers '09 User Guide. Both can be downloaded using the menu items in the Help menu in Numbers. Both are recommended reading for new and old users of Numbers alike.

    Hi
    Have you:
    1. Assigned a valid agent to your task - and have you checked that agent found is within the range of valid agents
    2. If you have transported / or is testing on another client, remember that agent assignment must be made on that system as well - and remember - SWU_OBUF.
    3. if this does not help check the authorizations  -  display access to authorization PLOG is required for infotype 1000, 1001 for objecttype AC.

you can further, format the cell as a duration like this using the cell inspector:

Now, inside my JDBC code, I fire a query which returns number of coulmns in a ResultSet (Including the one having DATE datatype).
When I fetch the value of 'ColumnA' column while iterating the resultset, I get a value of type java.sql.Date.
Now on UI side I need to display date and time value from this coulmn in a format dd-mm-yy hh:mm:ss, I used SimpleDateFormat to do that

You don't necessarily have to re-build your entire application to try something.
The next time you are in a similar situation try making a little test app that just does what you want to test.
