Timing a task without waiting

Dear Labview Board,
I have a section of code in my VI that writes boolean values to digital output (bottom of the block diagram).   Right now I do this with the wait function inside a case structure.   This works, but has a side effect I would like to eliminate.   Because this code is within the context of a while loop, the wait function holds execution of everything until complete.   I want timing, but I need the rest of my looped logic to continually run.   Please see the attached VI.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Zach
PS - I can't open anything beyond v8.6

  • NI HW capable of independent HW timed AO tasks

I am aware of the fact that on e.g. one of my USB 6343 X series devices, I can have for AO channels in a single HW timed AO task.
That is nice for most applications but sometimes I would like to have two single channel tasks that are both HW timed but reside on the same device.
I seem to be unable to find out if such NI hardware exists and if so, which it might be.
I might be overlooking something but I am sure NI staff would have the definitive answer.
    Thanks,
    Kris

    Dear Cody and Rebecca,
    Thank you for your answers.
Although I understand the resaons for things being as they are, your feedback already confirmed what I initially feared.
I have multiple USB 6343 units so for the time being I can just as well link some of them together and drive each AO signal on it's dedicated device. It might not be elegant but it will work.
In the future however, I might be better off with some form of FPGA system then? Am I correct in this assumption?
My aim is to drive a 2-axis galvo (mirror scanning) system in conjunction with a third focusing unit (a Z-axis if you will). This requires AO at moderate speeds (probably below 1 MHz).
Being able to have a device that can handle 3 independent but fully HW timed AO tasks would allow me to have in phase AO tasks which have different periodicity, e.g. If I want to scan a 1024x1024 image on X and Y but create a 5 image "stack" of frames at different Z-position. For the first task I would need to generate more samples than for the Z task (which would only have 5).
Another thing I need to be able to do but which I cannot with current hardware is the following:
Have a continuous AO task where, between iterations of the sample buffer, the output receives a fixed increment, without software intervention... a new software based write to my task is definietely not an option.
This is important since when scanning an XY image, the X mirror will always start a new line at the same (zero) position. Therefore, the X waveform can repeat indefinitely.
However, the "slow" Y axis needs to monotonically increase over time. So each period is offset from the previous one.
Right now I perform XY scans by providing discrete X and Y samples for the full frame but this is inefficient. It would be much easier to only calculate points for one scanline and output that multiple times (but with a Y offset).
    Combined:

  • To Complete the task without taking complete action in BPM worklist.

In my project ,there is one requirement that to complete the task without taking complete action in BPM worklist.
So I am trying to acheive this using JAva API of BPM worklist.
For that I have followed the approach given in below link
    http://technology.amis.nl/2007/02/invoking-bpel-worklist-api-from-remote-server-with-java/
Created java application and imported all the required libraries and jars.
while running this application it is giving following error
    NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/j2ee/ws/common/jaxws/ServiceDelegateImpl
This is due to absence of 'ServiceDelegateImpl.class' which should be present in webclient.jar ,
I have also added the same jar from jdeveloper\webservices\lib folder.
but the thing is ServiceDelegateImpl class is missing in webclient.jar.
I have downloaded the same jar from internet and tried various versions also.
    still the problem persists.
Which jar should I add ? or any other configutation is required ?
    Am I following correct approach?
Any suggestions on other approach would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Marc,
You can set the task Process Owner (i.e. TaskProcessOwner) to the group which Bowman and
Laura belong to from SharePoint Designer, then they should be able to complete the re-assigned task.

  • Follow up task without using the action profile

    Hi,
Is it possible to create the follow up task without using the action profile? If so, please let me know how we can do that?
as per the requirements, i have to the custom coding that will automatically create follow-on task triggered by status change on the all the transaction type. Please guide me how can we do that.
Task details (task id, description), I'm reading it from the custom table.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Vaibhav

    Thanks Naresh for the response.
Not sure if I can use the CRMV_EVENT. Even I'm not aware how to use that. Let me tell what i am doing in the logic.
    - implementing the logic in the badi order_save (method - CHECK_BEFORE_SAVE)
    - get the header and item details using the FM CRM_ORDER_READ.
    - get the status of header / item from the output of CRM_ORDER_READ.
    - compare the status with the custom table (having info of hearder type, item type, status, tast id, task description etc)
    - if status is different, create the task using the details from the custom table.
now i want to write the logic to implement the last step. Do we have any standard FM where I can pass the task ID and it will create the task? Please help.

  • How can I download a transfer without waiting for it be all transferred?

How can I download a transfer without waiting for it be all transferred? Thanks.

Thanks, that now makes sense. Once an item enters the download queue, the user cannot remove it. Either let it complete the download (easiest) or contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the Contact page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) and ask them if they'll remove the item(s) from your queue for you.
    Regards.

  • Sync without waiting for backup

I have looked around in "Preferences" but I cannot seem to be able to find any way to sync my iPad without waiting for a slow backup.  My iPad has been backed up hundreds of times.  I don't feel the need to do it every time I sync.

That's not an X, it's something else and clicking on it does nothing.

How can I load and run a SubVI without waiting in the MainVI for the end of execution of the SubVI.

Use the Open VI Reference to specify the VI and then an invoke node. The method you want is Run VI and you can optionally Wait Until Done.

  • Single-Task Message Wait Event

Discovered while researching some performance issues....
A statspack report on the metadata repository is showing a lot of single-task message waits.
Is this normal? What is the source of these waits?
Per Oracle 8i documentation... "Oracle is diminishing the support of single-task mode."
Why is this showing up in a 9.2.0.8 database???
    Any insights welcome...
    Thanks,
    Henry

As you can see, no one replied to the message...
But, our performance issue was due to a memory leak in the listener (documented bug in 9.2.0.8).
Restarting the listener, also reduced the wait...

  • Cant re-send email with attach without waiting to upload?

    hi, thanks for the answer
everytime i try re-sending an email with attach i cant press the send botton without waiting the loading time. So when i get some emails that i want to resend it takes me a lot of time.
is there a way to re-send an email with attach pressing send without waiting the loading time so the email is program to send when the attach is loaded?

No there is not a way, your phone needs to download the information first, before it can be sent as you need to tell it to do this before it sends, I would say try and connect to a wifi hot spot to get things faster dowloading and uploading.

  • About single-task message wait event

    Hello
I have several active users, some of them from 2 an 3 days ago with single-task message wait event and their last_call was many time ago. One of users, blocked to other users just a little while ago and Concurrency grow up to 20 % and was on increase. i had to kill this user and all were well, concurrency dessapeared.
How could I avoid this behavior??
How could I kill these type of user by automatic way??
    Thanks

    Hi,
according to me active user is different
according to me active user is session or oracle process is doing something else like dml or ddl execution or select stmt else session is idel.
trace the session what is doing? is may be problem with dead connection
use oradebug and set the 10046 at level 12 and format it with tkprof utility.
    paste it thread

  • Is there a way to passcode lock my iPhone without waiting for the preset idle time?

Is there a way to passcode lock my iPhone without waiting for the preset time?
My iPhone is set up to require a passcode after 15 minutes of idle time. Normally, this setting works best for me. However, there are times when I would like to lock it immediately, without waiting for the 15 minutes of idle time to pass. Is there a way to do that easily, without changing my settings? I know that I can click the power button to immediately kill the screen, but that just defaults to "slide to open" with no passcode required.
Just to clarify, the idea is to leave my 15 minute setting, since this is the way I like it 98% if the time. I'm just wondering if, let's say I am resting my phone down while a curious person is around, I can quickly pass code lock it, much like I could just click the power button to put it to sleep.

Unfortunately, my phone doesn't ask for the passcode when I do this (just slide-to-open). I've searched settings, but I don't see any way to set it up to require the passcode after the screen is locked with the power button.
Do you remember how you set your iPhone up to achieve this?

  • Is it possible to kill a (last) task without shut down the hole App?

Is it possible to kill a (last) task without shut down the hole App?
For example you wanna open/import something in Adobe AE and the finderdialog hangs.
You dont have any chance to save your work before quit the app.
May it could be a code in Terminal or something like else.
So, is it possible to whrite it down for me please?
    thx frank

You can kill any individual process by using Activity Monitor, selecting the process, and using the Kill Process command. The location and precise phrasing of the command will vary by version of OS X; in Mavericks it's the "x" button at the upper-left corner of the screen.
If it's some part of the application that has hung, though, it's highly probable that killing a process associated with the application will bring down the entire program. In such as case there's almost never any option. In the case of the application hanging in the file open/save dialog, then I don't believe that there will be any way you can recover without forcing the entire application to quit.
