Title Font Defaults - Can they be Changed?

I do not like the default font and size on the Title pane I have chosen. Can these be defaulted to something else? If so, how do I change for the entire project versus having to change each clip?

Not done this for a while but I think once you change the font, next time you open a title it sticks. Can't be absolutely sure but either way it still means you'll need to change all those done already, manually one by one.

Large fugly icons and fonts in 'Sidebars" - Can they be changed?

In Mail, and Finder, especially - the icons and fonts in the lefthand sidebars of windows seem remarkably big and clumsy.
Is there a way to change these - I have Tinker Tool but it doesn't seem to apply to the window sidebars (unless I'm missing something).
Would be nice if it were possible to make the presentation a bit more efficient and less unwieldy.
Any ideas/tips gratefully received.

This changes the icon size in the sidebar, but is there any way to change specifically in Mail, the size of the Mailbox fonts (which was available in the Mail Preferences of 10.6)? I would like to increase the font sizes. Thanks

RH8 HTML, workspace font 8pt, can it be changed?

Hi,
My IT department just upgraded me to a faster machine Windows 7 however my RH8 HTML displays my Project Manager et al pods in Ariel 8pt. I know I can adjust the topic font size from the View option, however, has anyone figured out how to change the font size elsewhere on the workspace? My css works fine in my output. It's just my workspace view.

I realize this is an old thread, but since I just encountered the same thing in RH11, I thought I would comment. I don't know how RoboHelp interprets what fonts size to use, but I was using two 22" monitors and a 14" laptop screen at 1920x1080 with Windows 8.1. I am testing TCS5 against MadPak. I'd never seen this problem in RH, and I was starting to think I would need to go with Flare to see the screen. I tried changing the resolution and nothing happened.
It wasn't until I pitted the two screen capture programs against each other that I realized something else was going on. Neither of them could capture. RoboScreen Capture was changing the resolution and making a single browser window take up the entire 22" monitor screen. I was seeing other inconsistencies with menu sizes, and I was not able to resize the display text or menus the way that I like them. I also noticed that moving windows from the laptop screen to the monitors resulted in the screens being very large for until they were completely on the new monitors screen (vs. in transition between the two).
To resolve the problem, I have had to stop using the laptop scree, but I suspect it's a Windows bug related to graphics, and it impacts RoboHelp because of the way RoboHelp determines its work space font size. A new graphics driver or a reinstallation may be what is really needed in these situations. It does appear that the bug has only gotten worse in Windows 8.1 (perhaps related to the increasing options allowing users to resize display items separately).
Once I changed my settings to two monitors and rebooted, all of my problems resolved. As multiple monitor use becomes more and more common, and Windows continues to become more customizable, Adobe may well want to change the way RH11 determines its font size. Flare did not bat an eye at this bug. It was fine. Both graphics programs were unusable but in different ways.

QuickTime 10 player controls annoying, can they be changed?

The new player for QT10 has the player controls sitting on top of the actual video window, they do fade away and disappear once you hit play and move the mouse off the player, however, when the mouse is over the video window or the video is paused, the player control box sits permanently on the video. I can drag the player control box anywhere within the video box, but I can't get it out of the player. I would like it to live under the video image, below the player window. I can't find any options for changing this. This really is a HUGE annoyance for me. Does anyone know of a solution for this?

I use QT 7.6.3 Pro as the main Player/Editor and, after a bit of playing around, now have it set as the "default" non-iTunes movie file application under Snow Leopard.

Font and font size can not be changed when I did Chinese courses in Presenter7.

After publish,i found that the font of notes tab was too small, so i changed the Notes Pane Font and font size by clicking the button called "Settings",then after clicking theme editor, I re-published, however, when i reviewed in Chrome brower,the font still not be changed, but I checked the Japanese courses and the English courses i did before, but I found that they were normal,their font can be changed,the Notes Pane Font displayed not blank but normally, so did the Size, so who can offer the workround about that?

We are having a similar issue. The text in the Notes pane remains small (sub 8 point?) and the Font appears also to remain the same generic Sans Serif font. Here is a same that we put together after reinstalling Presenter 7 because of another, unrelated issue. What is causing this?

Font size can't be changed

Hi.
Mail.app (3.5)
While changing the mail font sizes in Preferences, I screwed up by entering a huge number by accident. The font is ginormous and I cannot reset it back to normal as the 'select' screen is out of sight in the format window.
All emails now have this huge font and reading emails uses it to. However I can select a new font in create mode.
I hope this doesn't sound too confusing but I have tried everything to recover the status quo and failed,
Any advice would be welcome.

Quit Mail.app
Go to /Users/yourhomefolder/Library/Preferences
Copy com.apple.mail.plist to your desktop as a backup.
Open com.apple.mail.plist in Preferences folder with a text editor of your choice (drag and drop it on the icon in the dock).
Search for
<key>NSFontSize</key>
<string>77</string>
Instead of 77 (you'll see the number you entered by accident) enter something like 12 or 14.
Save the file.
Start Mail.app
If that didn't help, it could also be one of the following keys in the preference file:
<key>NSFont</key>
<key>FontSize</key>
Hope this helps. If you mess around with preference files for the first time, make sure you can take some time!

PDFMaker navigation and magnification defaults - can they be altered?

When I create a pdf using PDFMaker in a Word file, I want the resulting pdf file to default to Magnification "Fit Page" and Navigation Tab "Bookmarks Panel and Page". I do not want to have to change the magnification or the navigation manually because when I am combining multiple pdf files, I end up having to set the mag and nav for every document inside the combined doc, even if the original pdf has already been altered to the mag/nav I want. Is this even possible?

Short answer = nope.
Your success path? Use Acrobat to post-process as needed.

How are collections defined in the new 'Photos' app? and can they be changed?

I was just having a look at my photo collection on my mac and realised that when in the year view all the photos orders seem to be correct, but when I zoomed in a level to collections, some of the older photos jumped to the end - I realised this was because the date range of the most recent collection spanned a long time period and so got pushed back in the list.
This got me thinking.. what actually defines the collections? and am i able to change whats in the collections? I keep getting confused when the photos keep jumping around when I zoom in and out of each level

Apple is not very specific about collections and Moments.

A moment is a group of photos and videos taken around the same time and in the same place—for example, an afternoon at the beach.
A collection is a group of related moments—for example, your entire beach vacation.
The Years view groups all of your photos taken in the same year together, so you can quickly view your entire library at a glance. You can also view your photos individually to see more detail and make edits.

No way. The partitioning in moments, collections, years is automatic. You would have to adjust the dates, to force a different grouping.
The help text on years does not seem to be correct. I am seeing larger year groups in my library than just one year of photos in a year:

Sidebar icons: can they be changed?

I've added .Trash to my Finder sidebar so I can drag items to the trash.
I would like to change the blue folder icon to a Trash bin (and wouldn't mind changing the other sidebar icons as well).
Is it possible to change them? And if so, how?

(I own CandyBar, but not sure it allows you to change an individual folder icon).

The items in the Sidebar are aliases to the original item. If the original item has a custom icon that icon will be displayed in the Sidebar when you drag the item there. You can use GetInfo to change individual folder icons. Find something that has an icon you like, do GetInfo on it, click the wee little icon at the top to select it (a very faint blue line appears when the icon is selected), and select Copy. Then do GetInfo on the folder you want to have the new icon, select the wee little generic folder icon at the top, and Paste.

Why does pdf not have correct font? Can this be changed to match what is on our Word Document?

The pdf does not have the same font as my document. We use Claredon Condensed Bold Italic and it changes it on the pdf?
Also, is there an easy way to just pick a certain pages to pdf?

How well a file converts depends largely on the quality of the original file.
Does it occur with all files or with specific one?
Would you send your PDF document to [email protected] as an email attachment?

Second: Is it possible to change the password (that goes along with the administrator ID and if possible what is the pathway.

sorry for the delay in responding
The name is the adminsitaror name (full current name) which on one computer it does not show
up anymore (after the language(keyboard or other somehow ended as French rather than English)
as well as the Password) which usually does not show up anyway bit got corrupted same way as above we "think")
It is a issue when updating AppleSoftware we just got a security update (even though running
10.3.9) and I "think" it requires the Admin name and PW, also it is required when trashing some items (we do not trash anything that would affect the computer's ability to function) but I do
recall the emc asking for the administaror name and Password to do so and iscne we do not know
them anymore (I am looking through a pile of Papers (handwriten and e-mails sent to myself to print of and store) to see if I can find the original but even if I did I do belive it's corrupted.
**I do not still understand what a "shortname "means but will type it into Mac help
(which to me comes up with 50% non -applcable info but it is helpful)
I am using a full version of Omni Disk sweeper (good for 14 days) that helped not only find
HD usage but broke down each area into specific and their size and location and had a active delete
button( and a warning if you were deleting something that would affect thr computers ability
to function ) this relates to another post I put up and Interesting no administror name or PW is required (The Panther version is not listed for sale on the web site, fill version) but the Tiger
and greater is, the person who responded sent me a download link and licence key good until
10/27/08 which really helped on our eMac 1.0ghz with a 40GB HD shared primarily with two users.

Thumbnails in Sequence... Can they be changed?

I understand that the thumbnail display for each clip used in the timeline is chosen depending on the "in" mark, in the original clip. Is there a way to change that thumbnail pic based on another mark of some sort? I want the clip to start in the same place, I just want the thumbnail to be different. Thanks in advance for any and all help on this topic.

Or create teh fade with Opacity keyframes in the Timeline.
With Clip Overlays enabled (Option-W toggles this on and off), hold down the Option key and move your mouse cursor over the green Opactity line for that clip in the Timeline. Your pointer becomes a Pen Tool.
Click once about 30 frames from the beginning (or however long the fade needs to be) to create one keyframe. Now click and hold on the Opacity line anywhere before the first keyframe. Drag the mouse all the way down and all the way to the left (for a fade up from black). Drop it, and you've got your fade and the thumbnail shows the first frame of the clip at full opacity.
EDIT: Maybe I should've have added that you should expand the height of the video track in the timeline to make the keyframing a little easier. Probably don't need to add this, but I will anyway.

Preferences for font style can't be changed

I have been trying to set the font in preferences to use a different fonts for new mails. However, the settings will not be saved.
Is there any way to do that?

Not sure what you mean by the settings will not be saved and is this for received or sent messages?
If for received messages, this preference setting works when the sender of a message uses Plain Text for message composition only.
When the sender of a message uses HTML for message composition, the sender of the message controls the formatting, not the recipient.

Scorecard Component Header Gridlines - Can they be changed?

Is there a way to change the color of (or turn off) the gridlines between the headers in a scorecard component? I've found how to do it in the body of the scorecard, but just not the header. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

IMovie-Why can't I change the font of my title?

My simple question is that when I open the Font window from the menu to try to change the type, size and color of my font it doesn't change anything.
Below is the step by step of what I'm doing if you need this information:
I choose "T" button below view screen.
Select "Organic Main" and drag and drop it infront of my video (Green line indicates where to put it, and a green plus confirms the move is good).
Screen pops up asking me to choose background, I choose "Organic".
View screen shows new background with Text "Title Text Here" highlighted.
Project screen shows the new block in the front of my video clips, on top of this box is the blue rectangle box that is highlighted yellow and repeats the "Title Text Here" text.
So far so good.
I go to the top menu and choose "Text > Show Fonts". The Font window pops up.
Now when I click on fonts, font sizes, or try to change the color of the font, nothing happens.
I close the font window and hit done on my preview window and still nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?

So what causes the Title Sequence from not being able to be edited?
As per michelepost comments earlier, neither the "Show Fonts" function allows title values to be changed, nor if the iMove Font Panel displayed?
From the Menu options, neither does the Cmd- or Cmd+ functions work to manage the size of the title text...
Can new titles be created with images from my photo library be used as backgrounds for Titles?
Whilst on the theme, why when changing photo image durations, the value in time entered does not relate to the image(s) selected? I enter 1.8seconds, and 0.9 is displayed against the selected image.......
