Title Slides

How can I add title slides between slides in a slide show? I was on cruise recently and have selected pics for slide show and now want to add title slides at the beginning of each section of the slide show so people know where they were taken

You need to create them with another app. - a word processor, for instance. Then use the Print to pdf command to save them as pdfs. Import those to iPhoto and it will convert them to jpegs.
Other Slideshow apps have this feature built-in:
iMovie, on every Mac sold
Others, in order of price:
PhotoPresenter $29
PhotoToMovie $49.95
PulpMotion $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
Final Cut Express $199
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs.
However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Express is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

I am using my Description as the caption on Slideshow.  I ticked the "Show Title Slide" button and iPhoto physically copied the description on the first slide onto the end of every other description.  I can find no way of removing them other than by hand.  Unticking the "show title slide" did not reverse the situation back to my required state.   Any ideas why it might have happened or how it might br resolved?   Regards, Marshfrog1

Attached is Dennis Linam’s Audition – “Log File” and “Log – Last File”
    Contact information Dennis [email protected]
Previous contact information with your organization (DURIM):
Dennis - i just finished my audition trial and bought the subscription the 2014 version.
created by durin in Audition CS5.5, CS6 & CC - View the full discussion
DURIM - Okay.  I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]?  We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro?  If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. I appreciate any help you can give me to get this audition program started

  • Can I add a hyperlink to a title slide in iMovie?

Can I add a hyperlink to a title slide in iMovie? Any way to make a link "clickable"?
    Thanks!

Not in iMovie. You could finish your movie in iMovie (all but this).
Then,  you can add the link in QuickTime Pro version 7.
First you need to install QuickTime Player Version 7 if you don't have it. QT7 and QT X can coexist on your Mac. Then buy the license key from Apple to convert it to QuickTime Pro.

  • Pan & scan with slideshow title slide

I've been trying to use the Ken Burns effect with a title slide in a slideshow - but can't get it to work.
Is this possible please - without having to create a video workaround in FCP / iMovie?
    Thanks
    Julian

Interesting: I just tried it, and Aperture will not let me do it. The only work around I can think of is to trick Aperture into thinking a text slide is a picture slide. You could create this faux text slide using the book tool, but it would be way easier to create it in another app that will save to a picture file format and then import it. If you have Powerpoint or Keynote ($20USD on App store), it will be super easy. You could also do it with Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Pixelmator ($30USD on App store), Gimp (free) or any number of apps.

  • How do you edit date/time title slide???

I've used date/time title slides in my movie, but I can't edit the date/time. I want the time of the clip, instead it just shows the date/time I inserted the title into the movie. On other title slides, you just click on the info to edit but it doesn't seem to work???
    Thanks

It will pick up the metadata from the clip.
So the first thing to check is whether your clip has metadata. Click VIEW/PLAYHEAD INFO and skim your mouse over the clip. Do you see any data and time info?
You can add date and time info in iMovie by right-clicking on the Event clip and editing the date and time. i am not sure if this will populate the title, but it might. In older versions of iMovie, it would not.
A better solution (assuming you know the date and time) is to select that clip in the Event.
Then right-click on the clip and select Reveal in Finder.
In the Finder, right-click/COPY. Go to your desktop and right-click PASTE. On this copy of the clip, change the name of the clip to clip-yyyy-mm-dd hh;mm;ss;ext where hh is hours in 24 hour time, ext is the current extension, and the rest should be self explanatory.
Once you have done this, import it into iMovie using FILE/IMPORT/MOVIES...
It is OK to import it into the same Event.
Now it should have the correct date and time metadata.

  • Font Used in Pixie Dust Title Slide?

Does anyone know the font used in the pixie dust title slide? Apparently, I'm just too tired to figure this out for myself and would love to wake up in the morning with the answer! Just trying to streamline the look with the same font and can't seem to figure it out.
    Thanks!

looking inside the corresponding .qtz-file tells you:

  • Why does title slide in Keynote iMac change to from Helvetica to Chalkduster on transfer to ipad2?

slide presentation in Keynote iMac has helvetica neue and /or Arial as fonts.  On transfer to iPad2 via iTunes, all slides apart from the title slide remain same font.  title slide changes to Chalkduster - a blackboard chalk style font - bizarre.
    Any ideas why?

Instead of pointing iTunes to the external drive, you could copy/import the library to your iMac's hard drive: /Users/yourusername/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
This obviously takes up more of your local HD disk space (which you might be trying to avoid), but it should solve the problem.

I am having trouble with playback of all inserted blank and title slides in an Aperture slideshow.  I just updated the program and this may have caused the issue.  This even seems to be happening with slides i just inserted.  Can anyone help?

having trouble with playback of all inserted blank and title slides
What exactly does "trouble with playback" mean? What does not work like you expect it to work?
And waht is your current Aperture 3 version?

  • Can you add an image to a title slide in iMovie?  So you can show your information and a picture, almost like powerpoint

I want to add a picture to an imovie title slide, similar to a powerpoint presentation.  Does anyone know if this is possible?  Thank you.

    a) … use Powerpoint.- You can export from it as a Quicktime.mov, import that to iMovie and proceed.
    b) prep that whole frame in any pic-processor (I prefer Pixelmator); use for example the MacOS-included Preview.app to create a 'composition' of pic and text.
by preparing the pix-composition in a designated paint.app, you're allowed to do much more complex 'layouts' than iMovie offers…
Plus: you can create 'phases', in my example: create a pic with background only, with Einstein only, and with Chaplin added; apply dissolves: pics appear!
… you can create astonishing effects by using prepped pix.... ! Think a little outside iMovie…

  • Making Title Slides??

I want to create a title slide to begin my slideshow in iPhoto. How can I place text on top of a photo or even on a blank "slide"?

    Kitty
You cannot do this in iPhoto. You need to make the slide in another app and then import it to iPhoto.
One way to do this is to create the text in, say, Pages and then go File -> Print In the Print dialogue you click on the pdf button and select 'Save Pdf to iPhoto'.

  • Title Slide issue...

    Hello there,
I am having a problem inserting a title slide at the very beginning of my movie before my audio begins in iMovie '11.
My project includes multiple videos with detached and removed audio and studio-mastered .wav files in place. The .wav files appear to be seperate from the videos and I'm wondering if there is a way to group the audio and video together to be moved around at the same time.
Basically, is there a way to insert the title cards in the beginning of my video and in between clips without the wav file audio playing with the card? I need silence on the cards and video and audio to start together after them.
    Please help!
    Thanks.

hmmm .... iM cares automatically, so maybe I'm just lost in translation.
    Look:
five clips, two audio tracks - those are magnetic to the clips they are attached to! see the tiny green connection arrow …?
When you drag a title now to the very front of the Project (it appears as a green vertical line, saying "I'm inserted here!"), all stuff gets pushed to the right. Automatically! All keeps in synch.
... there's no such thing as 'individual tracks' in iMovie .....
(in FCPX not so either, in iM we have this feature since vers08, 5y ago .... the pros got ballistic, when FCPX had that too! )

  • MAking Title slides for a slideshow

How do I create title slides with text to place in between elements of my slideshow? I visited several islands recently and I want a title slide on which I can type the name of the particular island. I can't find out how to do it in I photo and I can figure out how to do it in IDVD 08. What gives?

You can use a word processing document to create the slide you want and then save as a PDF to iPhoto. Applications such as Pages or Keynote (if you have them) can also be used to create slides. They also can be saved in a format which can be imported into iPhoto.
