Tmp Folder in Weblogic 10.3

Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of tmp folder inside the domain directory for Weblogic 10.3
* domain_name/tmp ?
what is its purpose?

instead of import weblogic.security.SubjectUtils; use import weblogic.security.spi.WLSUser; and get the username as below
Set users = subject.getPrincipals(WLSUser.class);
          Iterator iter = users.iterator();
          while (iter.hasNext()){
               userName = ((WLSUser)iter.next()).getName();
               System.out.println(userName);
this returns you the username

  • Cluster with shared domain folder using OCFS2 and the domain /tmp folder

    I've setup a cluster with two machines and one managed server on each machine. One of the machines also hosts the admin server.
    Initially, both managed servers were running on the same machine. Everything worked well. When I move to having two machines, I didn't want to have to independently maintain the domain folder on each machine.
    So I decided to setup a shared drive between the machines and use OCFS2 to share the domain folder between the two machines.
    Everything started up fine, but when I deployed software to the server I would frequently (but not always) get this error:
    [wldeploy] Target state: deploy failed on Cluster cluster-01
    [wldeploy] weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [Deployer:149189]Attempt to operate 'deploy' on null BasicDeploymentMBean for deployment mylibrary#[email protected]. Operation can not be performed until server is restarted.
    After looking around a bit on google I saw this issue:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/issues/known_resolved.html#CR279281
    which says
    Some OS and NFS combinations result in deployment failures or configuration updates with an exception like:
    weblogic.management.DeploymentException: Attempt to operate 'distribute' on null BasicDeploymentMBean
    Workaround or Solution:
    * Run statd() and lockd() processes on every NFS client that accesses a remote NFS volume.
    * If multiple servers that share the same domain root are started with different user Ids of same group, set the correct "umask" for the server processes so that a file created by one server can be opened for read/write by other servers without security exceptions.
    Unfortunately, I wasn't running NFS, so the workaround didn't help me.
    Through dump luck, I tried this:
    I replaced the domainroot/tmp folder with a symbolic link to a folder on each machine's local filesystem. Following that change my deployments work everytime.
    Does anyone know why this change worked? What is the purpose of the /tmp folder in a domain folder?
    Are there any switches I could turn on to get more information about the exact error that causes the deployment mbean to come back null?

    It may not be the same situation, but I had this "deployer:149189" error and it turned out to be mixing WLS 10.0 and 10.3 installations together in the same install directory and not being scrupulous about environment setup. I think the problem was caused by accidentally running a 10.0 domain with Java 1.6.

  • How to disable application jar creation in tmp folder

    Hi
    I am deploying an application on clustered server.
    Everytime i deploy application a jar(for the application) is getting created in admin server's tmp folder in the folder WLTEMP_APP_DOWNLOADS/<application_name>/<application_name.jar>
    I am deploying application in exploded format and one of its functionality is to generate csv files.
    As Weblogic seems to be referring the application_name.jar I get a 404 error whenever csv files are accessed in UI.
    Could somebody please suggest the settings to disable the application jar creation.

    The issue was with weblogic caching.
    The server was creating a jar of the application in a tmp folder for every deployment .
    Due to this any new file generated within deployment path was not being identified.
    Disabling caching on admin server resolved the issue.

  • File manager problem - weird .tmp folder - PLEASE ...

    Every time I try to copy any type of file to my PC using File Manager, the file will not transfer and instead it creates a .tmp folder with a file inside PhoneFiles.

    Phone model: Nokia 6630
    Phone firmware: Never updated
    PC suite ver: 6.83.14.1

  • /tmp/mili2d.log writes my tmp folder full which course an esxi outage

    Hi Gent`s
    I hope you could help me further or pointing into the right direction.
    We had last week an ESXi Server outage which was produced as the /TMP folder was full.
    I notice now that there is still writing an mili2d.log, which has filled the /TMP folder.
    As far as I could find out this log file will be produced by our network cards.
    My question is how could I stop writing the log file and how could I solve the error which are reported in the log file...see below.
    Many thanks for your help.

  • Tmp folder

    How do I find and view the contents of the tmp folder? I tried searching in Spotlight for tmp folder and nothing comes up. I realize this is probably a basic question, but I am a recent switcher.
    Thanks in advance...

    You can use Find File in the Finder's File menu to search for visibility is invisible items, and that might bring up /tmp/ folder contents,
    It won't. It is possible to search within the /tmp and other unix folders, but to do so, you need to have that folder specifically selected on the location bar of the ⌘ F window.
    To show the /tmp folder, you can use the Go>GoToFolder command on the Finder menubar.

  • Tmp folder taking up 9GB

    I have almost 9GB of in my tmp folder; it does not clear when restarting. Most of it is in very small files, but it's eating up valuable space on my computer.  How can I best/most safely clear it out?  Other threads say it updates automatically, but it's one of the largest folders on my laptop.

    Try a restart.

  • Private TMP folder is growing exponentially.

    Starts at 16kb and grows to 95GB in a matter of days, forcing me to go back to an older copy.  Always goes back to 16kb and then is at 95gb days later.  Disk Inventory X has isolated it to the tmp folder, I just don't know how to stop it from happening.
    Update > The folders are .vbfolder_xxxxxx and contain two files, Archive.pax and Archive.pax.gz
    The folder replicates over and over again, getting bigger almost every time, with the same two files in them.
    I've done Virus Scans with Virus Barrier.  Not ready to start with a clean install unless I have to.
    Any ideas??

    I'm unclear as to how that would help?  Do you believe that Virus Barrier is the culprit?  It was downloaded from the Mac App Store, so I'm not concerned with its authenticity?

  • Java creating random folders on /tmp folder on RHEL VMs running on VMWare

    Hi
    I have a java program running on virtual machines (RHEL5 & RHEL6) on a VMWare hypervisor. We are seeing random files / directories being created in /tmp folder on those virtual machines with the owner as the user under which the java program runs. What could be possible reasons for this behavior and how to troubleshoot it?

    Which Java? Oracle Java? OpenJDK? JRockit? Which version? How did you install it? Imagine someone coming up to you and saying "yeah, Linux isn't working, what could be the reason?" Oh, okay. That narrows it down.
    Not that you are going to get many answers in a user to user Java -programming- forum, your question is more suited for Redhat support or a Redhat tech forum.

  • Xorg crashes when Thunar views /tmp folder

    After I upgraded to Xorg 1.16.0-6 yesterday and restarted, whenever I open Thunar and go to the /tmp folder, Xorg crashes and the system becomes completely unresponsive (for instance, the sound from banshee infinitely stutters on a single sample). I have to hard reboot the system to regain use. It doesn't appear to occur with any other folder, and removing the thumbnailer didn't help. Checking Xorg.0.log.old in /var/log shows it segfaults when this happens. I am using the Radeon open-source drivers with a Radeon HD 7310. (This occurs both with the standard Arch kernels as well as the -ck kernel I use most of the time).  Any suggestions?

    I am using tmpfs for /tmp. I went to check /run/user/1000 which is also mounted with tmpfs, went to /run... and that also crashed it. Unfortunatly, REISUB is less than of use on a computer without a SysRq key or equivelent.
    EDIT: /tmp is mounted tmpfs with nodev and nosuid. ls-ing it from a command prompt doesn't cause any issues.
    If your system doesn't have a SysReq key then you hold Alt + Print Screen for each of the letters of REISUB with about a second or two between each letter.
    Huh. I tried that after enabling it as specified both with and without Fn (it doesn't say Fn+PrtSc = SysRq, but no harm in trying) and it still didn't work.

  • How do I read properties file kept in the source folder in weblogic workshop

    I want to have a log.properties file in the folder of the source java code which
    is reading this properties file. When I build the code the properties file also
    should go with the generated .class files.
    I am using class.getResourceAsStream("log.properties")
    I tries different ways to make the class to read the file, but it failed to find
    the properties file. Is there any way to keep the configuration files in the same
    directory of the source java code ? This is the problem of weblogic workshop 8.1.
    This thing runs fine in Tomcat.

    Did you try and add the path where the .properties file is located in the CLASSPATH?

  • Tmp folder space issue

    We are on 11.5.10, for the last couple of days we are facing issue at applicaiton tier that folder “/usr/tmp “is being filled very frequently, due to this application not work. Therefore, we have to remove file under the mentioned folder.
    Why this folder is filled frequently, Could you pls have any experienced regarding this?

    Hi,
    In order to redirect location:
    - Source the Apps environment
    - Take a backup of existing jserv.properties file
    - Edit file  $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Jserv/etc/jserv.properties
    - Modify the entries here with your desired values:
    jserv.properties:wrapper.env=IBM_JAVACOREDIR= <enter full path to directory here>
    jserv.properties:wrapper.env=IBM_HEAPDUMPDIR= <enter full path to directory here>
    Are you trying to debug any issues, if not then you may disable these parameters as mentioned in the doc, by setting them to false:
    jserv.properties:wrapper.env=IBM_HEAPDUMP=true
    jserv.properties:wrapper.env=IBM_JAVACORE_OUTOFMEMORY=true
    jserv.properties:wrapper.env=IBM_HEAP_DUMP=true
    As mentioned, it is always recommended to enable debugging if required only. Otherwise please disable them
    Once necessary changes have been made bounce the Apache Server.
    Thanks &

  • Script delete tmp folder

    Does anyone have a simple script that allows for deletion of a folder.  Scenario would be a temporary folder stored in specific location like C: drive.  I am able to already delete files inside folder with a simple for statement looping and removing.  However I dont seem to be able to figure out how to delete the actual file.
    Any example is appreciated.

    Thank you for this info.    Indeed I did use the Folder.remove() method thru my own variable.  It turns out I solved it, I had to adjust the path that my variable was pointing too.  Once I did that, it worked correctly.
