TNS: no listener when trying to perform Import

Hi,
Inspite of the listener running fine (tested both on the server and client via tnsping) while trying to perform import it is terminating throwing an error
Could you tell me where could be the problem? And why am I unable to perform my import.

When trying to perform updates I get this message: This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. What do I do? I just bought the MacBook Pro new and migrated my apps from my old MacBook Pro.

Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
    1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept them into your Apple ID, do so.
    2. Move them out of the Applications folder(they may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If you're asked to buy them, see #3.
    3. Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
    4. Buy them.

  • "cannot find songs online" when trying to play/import from cd.

When trying to play/import a cd I get "cannot find songs online" message. Only Track # & time are displayed. When trying to get cd info I get "not registered for online use" message. Never did this before. Thanx in advance for any help.

The "not recognized for on-line use" error is associated with the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to look up and retrieve metadata for CDs.  Some users have reported that this error occurs when trying to import from CD, subsequent to upgrading to version 12 (though the number of reports has reduced significantly since 12.1 was released).  A number of slightly different solutions have been reported (though all of a similar nature).
Try walking through the following steps - before starting you may have to enable hidden files and folders to be viewed - in Windows 7 / Windows Explorer select Organize > Folder and search options, then on the View tab make sure that Show hidden files, folders and drives is selected.  I don't have a Vista system to check whether its different, but you may need to:
Select Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization
    Click Folder Options
    Select the View tab
Under Advanced Settings, click Show hidden files and folders, then click OK.
Without this you won't see the AppData folder in C:\Users\username\.
    Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
    If this doesn't work:
In iTunes, select Edit > Preferences and make a note (or take a screenshot) of your preferences settings in all relevant tabs
    Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following file:iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If this second procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1.
    If this one didn't work:
    Exit iTunes
    Check the following folders:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete any copies of the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
Again, if this procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1 of the second procedure.
If you're still not able to retrieve CD info:
    Exit iTunes
In Windows, select Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.  Find the entry for iTunes, right-click and select Repair.
When this process has finished, restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If none of these have worked (and almost everything I've seen suggests you should be OK by this point), you may have an issue with the installation and configuration of iTunes itself.  If you have got this far, see turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for advice on how to remove and replace of all components of iTunes.

  • ODBC error - no tns listener,  when trying to connect to database

I have installed Personal Oracle9i in Windows 98 operating system. I am unable to connect to the database using ODBC. I get error TNS-12541 TNS: no listener, even though i configured tnsnames.ora and listener.ora using Net Configuration Assistantand Net Manager. The destination entries in both files match. I get the same error even when I try to do a tnsping on the database name. How do I start the listener with the database already running?

There4s not enough to configure your tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora and listener.ora, you must enable the listener to run in your machine, in other O.S. like Workstation or W2000 you can do it "starting services", in W98,
you must run regedit and locate a line that references the listener, must be "AUTO" in that record.
Other way it4s edit your autoxec.bat and add the following line
    LSNRCTL START
    Hope this comments help you

The problem comes into play when you try to select the actual LOB locator remotely, however straight INSERTs aren't a problem.

    Dear,

I could start the listner with the oracle user manually
and afterward start the stardb or startsap. When i first
start the listener that way then it is possible to start
startsap or stardb with no problem. But why do i have
to start the listener by hand?
    best regards,
    Ly-Na Phu

    Hi Naidu,
thanks for you answer. Now i understand that the listener
ist not configured by sapinst automatically and that one
have to start it manually. At windows sapinst do that and
the listener ist comming automatically when booting.
At linux it has to be put in the startup procedure e.g.
in the runlevel 3 rc3.d. If not doing so we have to start
the listener manually. But everything else work fine.
    Thanks,

  • Premiere Pro cs6 - Workspace video pane remains blank when trying to view imported files

    Hello,
I'm currently working in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. When I import my media into my workspace and drag it onto the timeline, the preview box where you can review your cut video remains black. Double clicking on the imported file gives the same result. I was initially importing .jpg files (about 300kb size for each) so I tried importing various other image formats - .png, .tiff, etc... I have even imported a movie file into my scene to determine whether the issue was with my content format. With the video, the audio plays fine, but the video remains blank in the preview box. I have tried rendering my workspace and changing my initial project settings, but to no avail. I went into my preferences for Premiere and from what I can determine, everything looks fine.
I'm running the software on an HP Pavilion, Windows 7 intel i7, 8gb ram, with a nvidia 650M 2GB card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,
Have you tried to change your Video Renderer? It would be under Project > Project Settings > General. Switch the option to Mercury Playback Engine software only and see if it helps.
    Thanks,

  • Integration console is hung when trying to export/import from/to catalog

    Hi,
When i try to export or import models from/to catalog the eis console is hung and not responding...i am not sure if it has to do something with java variable.. i would request you to share your thoughts in this regard.
    Thanks,

I am exporting the file from TxEIS (in the Firefox web browser) and it does not download properly. Acccording to Firefox documentation, it is supposed to automatically recognize the file extension. I have not experienced this on any other machine within our environment. Other users are performing this same process with no problems. The browers settings are exactly the same as the machines that are working right.

  • ORA-12541: TNS: no listener when attempting to log int SQL*Plus

    Hi everyone,
Since we are now studying forms. I installed The Developer Suite on the same machine as the Oracle Database. I was able to use SQL*Plus and the Procedure Builder in Oracle Forms. I was able to connect to the Oracle 8i database with the Oracle 9i Developer. Then I started playing with forms and when I tried to run the form it told me that it could not find a listener. So, I made some changes on the Oracle Database and added a listener and gave it the 8888 port that it was looking for. That did not work so I change the properties on the forms to the port that the database listener had 1521 or at least that is what I believe it was. Now I cannot connect to Oracle SQL*PLus and I cannot connect from the forms to the database either. I have deleted the listeners and added them again. I have checked under services to make sure that it is started. Has anyone seen this before.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Error message when trying to save/import a CD to my library?

I was importing a CD into my iTunes library. When almost all the tracks were downloaded, I received an error message. Something about not having enough space in my library or being at a level to allow me to save this. I have about 10 cd's in my library. Wanted to install all of my music on this computer and run it through iTunes.

Hello CDCisME2.  I understand you're having some trouble saving a Word file.
Where did this file come from?  Is it store on a server such as for your work or school?
Try using the "Save as" function instead of the normal save function.    In the top-left of the window you should have a blue button that says "File."  Select this and then you should see "Save as."  Use this to save the file to an alternate location.
If these instructions don't make any sense then let me know.  I am using Microsoft Word 2013 and the instructions could be different for different versions.
Let me know if this works.  Have a great day!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

  • Color wheel pops up for minutes on end when trying to perform simple tasks?

Ever since last night, my Macbook Pro (purchased in September of 2009), has been incredibly slow. I noticed it first while trying to browse the web. Out of nowhere, while doing things, like browsing Facebook, that I could normally do easily and without incident, the color wheel/beach ball/rainbow wheel/etc. would appear for what felt like an eternity, and for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Firefox was the only application I had running, and there was nothing excessive being done. After several more instances in the next few minutes, I tried my luck with Safari. Same result. Then, I realized it wasn't  just confined to web browsing. Even trying to open a Finder window would cause the color wheel to come up. Every simple action that used to take mere milliseconds to complete now can take up to 5 minutes to unfreeze. After I finally managed to get my laptop to recognize the external hard drive I plugged in so that I could try and use Time Machine to back up the more than 200 gigabytes that occupy my dying hard drive, the back up failed after an hour. This may or may not be related, as I noticed that the icon for the external hard drive no longer showed on my desktop. I have scanned my computer using a virus scanner obtained from the App Store a year or two ago. Nothing turned up. Finally, I have tried both restarting and shutting down my computer, yet all that that has shown me is that start-up is now a laborous process as well. For the first time, it showed me a loading bar under the gray Apple logo that remained empty for a few minutes, until it finally disappeared entirely and the operating system booted up. My attempt at entering Safe Mode on startup also failed, leaving me with nothing but a white screen that forced me to manually shut down my computer and give up in desperation. I'm planning on taking my Macbook to the Apple Store to see what can be done before irreparable damage is inflicted to my hard drive, because I value many of the files that have been added since my last back up several months ago. If any of you have had similar problems or have any idea what is going on, please let me know. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Danny

It sounds like either data corruption, malware, bad sectors on the drive (moved it while it's opearating? a no-no) or the drive is possibly failing.
I'll give you a bunch of links and you decide what you want to do.
Apple is just going to charge you to replace the drive and not save your data.
If you want to recover your data and can't fix things yourself, take the machine to a local Mac repair shop as it's rather simple to replace the drive and Apple might not have one for a older SATA using machine aslo they specialize in data recovery efforts also. Apple doesn't.
You also can replace the drive yourself too.

    Hi Lemon,
For your issue, it can be caused by that a keyword matches more words than the allowed maximum of 10000 words in a wildcard search. You can overcome the 10000 default search results limit as below:

  • Labview Executable Becomes Unresponsive, Windows reports Insufficient Resources when trying to perform explorer tasks

I have a test program that is utilizing the NI-9481 relay modules to switch power to a part and switch a Keithley 2000 DMM  to measure the voltage. This test needs to power on and off the part 3000x for 4 minutes on and 4 minutes off. I implemented this design using a state machine design pattern. The timing is done in one minute increments using the "Get Time/Date in seconds" function available with Labview 8.2. Each minute a measurement is taken and the data is writen to a text file.
       -Measurements Algorithm:
-Prior to anything, instrument is initialized with a reset, enters state machine loop
-Measurment Function, configures DC Volts and trigger, (relays switch), send trigger and read from instrument when SRQ is asserted
       -Switching Algorithm:
          -DAQmx Create task w/Auto cleanup(T)
-DAQmx Create channel - Digital Output
-Property Node for Channel - DO.Invert Lines = False
          -DAQmx Generate Digital 1D Data
-DAQmx Write Data w/ Auto start(T)
I have been working out the bugs with the devices we are communicating with and they appear to be working normally, however for the second time(yesterday was a DAQmx error) at cycle 131(17ish hours into the test) the program has become unresponsive and windows will not open the task manager and windows explorer reports "Insufficient system resources" when attempting to open a window. Labview is not reporting an error...
Currently I suspect the while loop that is controlling the timing and am placing a WaitTillNextmsMultiple function in the loop set to 500.
Also I wonder if the DAQmx sequence is consuming memory and eventually consumes all system resources.
If anyone has any ideas or knows of a problem with the devices I am using please help. Thanks
    -Nate

If the bolded stuff is happening repeatedly... you have answered your own question.
LV will not destroy resources until it exits as part of its clean-up routine.
Create tasks and allocate resource once when you start and re-use them until you are done, then detroy them.

  • Windows 8 crashes when trying to connect to a Remote Desktop or a VPN

    Hello,
When trying to perform a connection to a remote desktop or a VPN the application crashes (either MSTSC.exe or Explorer.exe). I've noticed this happens when credentials are about to be asked (same happens when trying to access a restricted folder on a network
    machine).

Any ideas what could be the problem and how to resolve this?

Further proof it's something with credentials/authentication. I found a valid workaround, but I think this one's on Microsoft to actually fix.
I opened up Remote Desktop Connection, put in my username and clicked the Save Credentials box. Then I edited all the other settings. Saved the RDP connection to my desktop. Then I edited it with notepad, and added the password value. I found a blog that
provides a program that'll hash the password for you. I used it so I can say its safe:
    http://www.remkoweijnen.nl/blog/2007/10/18/how-rdp-passwords-are-encrypted/
I put the hashed password in, saved the file. Then used it to connect and it worked. So by bypassing RDP having to ask for credentials, it didn't crash since it doesn't ask. Kind of inconvenient if you have many computers you have to connect in to. But for
those in a bind this will work for you.
This one worked for me, no update or installation of software before it broke, but had a "wife-poweroutage" (cable taken out) I'm just not in the mood to reinstall for this. But the above fixed it for me. Thank you!
