Where to buy Palm Treo 680 covers from local stores?

... They are getting difficult to find these days due to old Palm devices and not being popular. Even http://store.palm.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3238806&f=PAD%252FAccessory%2BType%252FCases&f=PAD... doesn't have them. I found some on Amazon.com, but was wondering where else to find them like from local retail stores (e.g., Costco, Best Buy, Fry's Electronics in Los Angeles and Orange County areas) to see them in person.

I would not recommend any Palm OS phone to use on Tmobile.
T-Mobile did an undate to their system starting the middle of 09 and we are having intermittent voice problems, we have a 680 and 2 Centros, and have a friend with a 650 and they and many others are having the same problem.
T-mobile may have a fix in the works but will be middle of this year at best.
There are several blogs on this problem.

TS1702 Can't buy paid accessories in app store

I am not able to purchase accessories in game. A pop up box appears and says connect to iTunes support but I've tried almost everything there.

Apparently, there is a problem with Apple’s servers.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this. It is a workaround only until then.
You can also download the updates in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad.

Where to buy 800w accessories?

I would like to order a few things for my 800w.
Firstly, a new stylus! It's so flimsy and sometimes i have to press TOO hard in order to get something to work.
Secondly, an extra or longer lasting battery. I've seen an "extended life battery" for 800w on thepocketsolution.com, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea for my phone. And probably some chargers - car and another home.

Getting a new stylus is a good idea - it is flimsy.
It also wouldn't hurt to get an extra battery or car/home charger. Though I would pay attention to the price. I saw on thepocketsolutions that their 1gig and 2 gigs are too much. You can find them cheaper somewhere else. (Note: 4 gig SD cards are not supported on windows XP only through hotsync)

Palm Centro Smartphone ATT Accessories are they all Compatible?

I have a new Palm Centro from ATT and want to buy some accessories from Ebay but since there is no number associated with my Smartphone, I can't figure out what is compatible? In other words will the Centro 685 and 690 accessories (docking stations, car chargers etc.) work on my phone? If not what will work? Thanks for any help!!!

Physically, all Centros are all the same size and have the same connecting ports at the bottom. Docking cradles and chargers should all work.
Internally, there is a difference in memory and the network radio for some carriers. Newer Centros from Sprint have 128 megs of RAM, and those from Verizon and Sprint use CDMA networks while AT&T uses one called GSM (similar to most of the rest of the world).
As long as an accessory is not carrier-specific (like a cradle from AT&T that forwards the calls made to your cell to your home line) any case, charger, or cradle should work.

Which Mini DisplayPort to buy and how to use it?

I am not technology savvy what so ever, so please bear with me.
I have a 13" aluminum MacBook that I bought on Christmas 2008. I love it and it is in great condition, but now I would like to buy some accessories to go along with it.
I am looking to hook my MacBook up to my TV because I'd like to be able be able to view my videos and photos on my TV screen to show to my family and friends. What Mini DisplayPort will do this?
I was told I need to figure out my TV's connection before I buy a Mini DisplayPort. Well... I'm not even sure about this either. Here is the information about my TV:
- Apex GT2715DV 27-Inch Pure Flat TV/DVD Combo
- Coaxial digital-audio output passes Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel signals for immersive surround sound (with a compatible AV receiver)
- HDTV Compatible: N
On the back of the TV there are 3 sets of 3 plugs - all having the colors red, white, and yellow (this is where I usually hook up my Playstation). Hopefully this information gives you the information you need to determine what the connection is and what Mini DisplayPort I need (and hopefully my TV isn't too old!).

Yet I am confused because while I know one end hooks up to the MacBook - how does the other end hook up to this TV? There is no plug in the TV similar to that - is there another piece I have to buy?

As far as I know daisy chaining adapters will not work for the MiniDisplay port. http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8300784#8300784
You will need to buy both adapters, the MiniDisplay to DVI and a MiniDisplay to VGA. I would also suggest you voice your opinion at http://www.apple.com/feedback/macbookpro.html and let them know how you feel about needing to purchase an adapter when one should be included with the computer purchase.

Sorry to give that impression. I had them all at different times. I got the Zire mostly to keep track of contacts and get rid of all the post its on my desk, and kept upgrading from there. The exandable memory slot was awesome because I used it mainly as a ereader. The 72 was for the camera and the TX for the wi-fi. So I have had a Palm for about 15 years. Looks like bad timing on my part as I got the 64 bit OS PC about the same time as the transition of Palm to HP so I did not keep up with the news. Dealing with Palm was frustrating because I had spent hundreds of dollars for software from them that they no longer had any record of. AppGear, which apparently handled the transition couldn't help because it had been over a year and they no longer maintained the record.
I Googled Palm a few days ago and found Brighthand, which in turn got me here. I now have an aceeca driver fpr the Palm Desktop and according to the hotsync manager, it successfully synced. So is the next step to establish an account with HP? I should already have one as I have had a couple HP laptops. Where do people buy Palm software these days since there really is no Palm store?

Half my accessories won't charge my 3rd Gen Touch?!

So I just received my new iPod Touch 3rd gen the other day, and half the accessories I used for the 1st gen won't charge it. I get the message that "this accessory won't support charging" or something to that effect. This includes an APPLE wall charger for iPod!
What gives here? So far my iHome alarm clock, and my Monster FM transmitter won't charge the Touch. They will play music, but no charge. Weirdly, the iHome iH27 portable model with the Apple dock does charge, and thankfully so does the Apple dock, which I use to play music and videos thru my home theatre setup.
Is there something I'm missing that I need? Or was this deliberate for some reason?

I'm having the exact same problem and unfortunately did not know anything about it until this morning when I tried plugging my new iTouch 3G into my Bose SoundDock and my Monster iCarPlay auto charger and got the "Charging is not supported with this accessory" message. I googled it and found out that the problem started over a year ago when Apple came out with the iTouch 2nd gen. They changed the way it charges -- used to be compatible with firewire charging, but now is only compatible with USB charging. I called Apple and spoke to a so-called "apple expert" who kept telling me my iTouch should work with the Bose system because that's what it says on the apple website: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS836VC/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1NA&mco=MTA4NDM1NDY But as we all know, it doesn't work and Apple has obviously not bothered to update their website or train their "experts."

Now I understand your worry, hope you get one with accessories! On the plus side, at least if you have to buy your accessories you can choose ones you'll actually use - like I'd have gone for a necklace attachment instead of the armband if I'd had the choice.

Also, there is an option to buy an accessories pack which has a charger but also has earphones. IPod accessories in India?

Soooooo, I'm an idiot and I left the adapted USB cable to connect my Ipod to my computer at home. I'm going to be in Bombay today (in transit at Kuwait city aiport) and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good store to buy Ipod accessories in Bombay, Delhi, or Jaipur.

there are apple stores. either under the name istore or maple . the one in bombay (maple) had said early november . but i wudnt consider that a reliable source as they are as much in the dark as we r . im pretty confused considering the site says buy now and even brings up a store locator, id love to know if its here finally .

Pre/Touchstone problems...

I read through the "Touchstone issues" thread and no one had the exact symptoms i have.
when placed on the touchstone, my pre enters the charging state. The "charging battery" notification pops up, the lightning bolt icon appears on the battery and the phone will dim and enter the clock mode. after some time, like others, the device will cycle the "charging battery" every few minutes. when this happens, the pre goes to the main screen and is fully lit until i take it off of the touchstone. quite often, i'll charge my phone all night, to wake up w/ a 30% charged battery. My phone also doesn't go into landscape mode when i change it's position on the touchstone.
also, the battery icon has frozen before, leaving the lightning bolt and % for hours, until i rebooted the phone. ALSO, sometimes my phone fails to receive calls/txts while on the touchstone and sometimes when taken off the touchstone. a reboot usually fixes this.
i'm using all Palm accessories, so the quality standards "should" be met. whats odd is, this doesn't happen every time i charge... just most of hte time, haha.
i got the touchstone for christmas, so i have no receipt. i'm thinking i'm past any return policy. so if i were to replace the touchstone, would my only option be to buy a new one? and looking at the Touchstone issues thread, it seems like even replacing it is 50/50. what are my options?

I would recommend a couple things to try. First, make sure you're using the Palm battery, USB cable and AC adapter supplied with your Pre to connect to the Touchstone. It's not designed to be used with other cables or batteries, or hooked to your PC. Also, try removing the USB cable from the touchstone, make sure the silver 'dot' is face up on the cable, and insert it fully into the dock. you should feel the cable 'click' into place and see only about 2mm of space between the dot and the dock.
Finally, open Device Info, tap on Preferences in the top left, go to Interactive Tests and choose Power. Check the box for the Touchstone, start the test and follow the on-screen directions. If the charger fails the test, you may need to replace your Touchstone.
Also make sure the 2 Palm logos match up exactly, the one on the dock and the one on the back of your device.
