Pre/Touchstone problems...

I read through the "Touchstone issues" thread and no one had the exact symptoms i have.
when placed on the touchstone, my pre enters the charging state. The "charging battery" notification pops up, the lightning bolt icon appears on the battery and the phone will dim and enter the clock mode. after some time, like others, the device will cycle the "charging battery" every few minutes. when this happens, the pre goes to the main screen and is fully lit until i take it off of the touchstone. quite often, i'll charge my phone all night, to wake up w/ a 30% charged battery. My phone also doesn't go into landscape mode when i change it's position on the touchstone.
also, the battery icon has frozen before, leaving the lightning bolt and % for hours, until i rebooted the phone. ALSO, sometimes my phone fails to receive calls/txts while on the touchstone and sometimes when taken off the touchstone. a reboot usually fixes this.
i'm using all Palm accessories, so the quality standards "should" be met. whats odd is, this doesn't happen every time i charge... just most of hte time, haha.
i got the touchstone for christmas, so i have no receipt. i'm thinking i'm past any return policy. so if i were to replace the touchstone, would my only option be to buy a new one? and looking at the Touchstone issues thread, it seems like even replacing it is 50/50. what are my options?

I would recommend a couple things to try. First, make sure you're using the Palm battery, USB cable and AC adapter supplied with your Pre to connect to the Touchstone. It's not designed to be used with other cables or batteries, or hooked to your PC. Also, try removing the USB cable from the touchstone, make sure the silver 'dot' is face up on the cable, and insert it fully into the dock. you should feel the cable 'click' into place and see only about 2mm of space between the dot and the dock.
Finally, open Device Info, tap on Preferences in the top left, go to Interactive Tests and choose Power. Check the box for the Touchstone, start the test and follow the on-screen directions. If the charger fails the test, you may need to replace your Touchstone.
Also make sure the 2 Palm logos match up exactly, the one on the dock and the one on the back of your device.

Pre ActiveSync problems from day one

It looks like this is a giant forum full of people having problems so I is hard to know whether or not someone has posted the same problems as me. If so please point me in the right direction.
We have Exchange 2003 on Windows Server 2003. I am the Exchange admin but I am a bit of a layman.
The exchange server works fine for my old WinMo phone, my boss’ iPhone and other blackberry devices.
When I got the Pre I had an issue with it showing me email, I could see the header but no message. An error would occur about timing out downloading the message body.
After adding and removing the account more times than I can count that behavior has gone away. Now I get random syncing. Sometimes it syncs emails and calendar, sometimes it does not. Most of time it is "stuck" with emails that don't exist in my mailbox any more, and getting new messages on top of them. I have called Palm countless times, they have promised me callbacks on at least 3 occasions and I have never received a call. I was told that the 1.0.3 update would fix my issue and it did not. I was told that checking an option on the exchange server to allow devices that do not meet all security requirements would fix my problem and it did not.
I have tried doing a reset on my phone, I have deleted my email box on the exchange server twice. Exchange would work for about 24 hours after deleting and recreating the mailbox then it would stop working again. Randomly syncing or getting "stuck". Yesterday my battery completely drained in 2 hours because EAS was trying to sync my mailbox and I guess failed. There are no errors on the phone or the exchange server.
Being an exchange and system admin getting my email from the exchange server is vital. I am able to work around this in my email using IMAP which works fine, but that does not fix my calendar. The EAS issue is draining my battery badly (my wife has a Pre without exchange and her battery lasts way longer than mine)
Does anyone have a fix, a workaround or a phone number to a native english speaker at Palm that can help?

Thank you for your reply. I've looked at the server and it is clean. There is nothing useful in the event viewer, no errors, no messages, nothing even related to my phone. I am supposed to call Palm back and let them know the results of their last attempt, setting the exchange server option to allow devices that don't meet all security requirements to connect. As of this morning my phone is still in the "stuck" state with old messages that are no longer in my mailbox on the bottom and new messages on top (which is better than no new messages at all)
On a semi-related note my wife had her first email problem today. Her Gmail did not check all night for some reason so when she went into it this morning it downloaded dozens of emails.

Lightroom 5.4 exported videos in PRE 10 problems

Recently started making MP4 exported slideshows in newly installed LR 5.4. When I import them into PRE 10 projects, I'm getting playback artifacts in the PRE 10 monitor that are very strange. The videos seem to be playing back fine, but all of sudden, in the middle of playing the picture videos, green screens and most often red screens are interpolated between the pictures playing back. Some of the pictures in the video are also missing in the playback. The interpolated screens will last for up to 30 seconds in the PRE timeline. The exported videos play fine in Windows Media Player and other playback programs.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing:
I never had these problems with previous versions of LR exported slideshows. I experimented loading test projects in PRE 10 with video exported from earlier versions of LR (LR4 and 5.3). None of those earlier videos had the problems I'm now experiencing with the newly exported LR 5.4 videos
Any ideas as to why these problems might be happening now with LR 5.4 videos? Are there any project setttings or preferences in PRE 10 that would fix this problem? Is there a bug in either program? Or is there some other issue I'm not seeing?

Thanks John. Below is a comparison of 2 videos from MediaInfo. The file on the left is from LR5.4, the one on the right is from LR 4.4.
Note that the LR 5.4 MP4 slideshow export includes actual videos that are in the slideshow as well as still pictures. Since it includes actual videos, it also includes audio. The LR 4.4 MP4 does NOT include any audio since LR 4.4 only created the MP4 files from still pictures.
FYI: I realize now that also exported MP4 Slideshow files of still pictures only from LR 5.3. Those files also worked fine in PRE 10. HOWEVER, I did NOT include any video files in the 5.3 exported MP4 slideshows. Instead, I manually inserted each video as separate files in the PRE 10 project timeline.
So I ‘m guessing that the problem in PRE 10 has something to do with embedding videos in the LR 5.4 exported slideshows. I see some differences in the files data below, but I don’t know enough to know how they might impact PRE 10. I know I CANNOT change the slideshow MP4 video export settings in LR 5.4 other than the export size.
I was hoping I wouldn’t have to insert the videos in PRE 10 projects individually, but I suspect I may have to.
Does the data below provide some explanation to the problem?

Pre-order points missing and pre-ordering problems at the store level.

During the week of July 6th-July 12 there was an ad for pre-ordering certain movies and getting 100 bonus points for each movie. On July 12th I pre ordered Rio 2, The Amazing Spiderman 2, and Transformers:AOE (Steelbook edition). The employee was able to successfully pre-order Rio 2 using the provided in store pre order card but had difficultly pre ordering Spiderman 2 and Transformers. Rio 2 and Spiderman 2 had set release dates while at that time Transformers did NOT have a release date until recently. These pre-orders were done in three different transactions.
Picking up Rio 2 on 7/15 was not a problem. The employee did an exchange in the system. The 100 bonus points never posted.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 had a lot of problems. The employee thought I already bought it and picked it up on 7/12 when I went to pick it up on 8/19 (the release date). At the time of the pre order purchase, there was no announcement of the BB exclusive Magno pack for the same price as the regular blu ray release. Again the employee did a return/rebuy. This employee also stated that the employee who processed the pre-orders Spiderman and Transformers did it incorrectly since it looks like she did it as a normal transaction instead of a pre-order. The points have yet to be posted.
Transformers: AOE (Steelbook edition) now has an official release date of 9/30. My question is will the system allow for employee to process the pre-order pick up since it is outside of the 45 day window? I am hoping it won't be but seeing how the employees have been processing pre-orders incorrectly when picking them up I expect problems when doing so.
I have also noticed a price drop for transformers (6760435) from the time I pre-ordered it on 7/12. Will the employees be able to adjust the price and give me the difference?
Not all stores carry the pre-order cards making this a difficult process for everyone (it takes me on average 30 minutes to pick up 1 pre-order instead of in and out within 5 mins like usual) because someone didn't do it correctly the first time. So my question is, how should employees process a pre-order if there is NO Pre-Order card in store?? I would love to continue to pre-order at best buy, but am getting tired of having employees screw up my pre-order.

Pre-mapping problem

Hello ,
I would like to delete some records before inserting new records to the target table. So I use the Pre-mapping process for this situation. I wrote a simple "Delete record" procedure in the "Public transformation/Customs/Procedures. But when I deploy the mapping , there is an error.
PLS-00201: identifier 'DELETE_RECORD' must be declared
My delete_record procedure is as follow

Sorry I did not realize that you were trying the Custom functions.
Deploying Custom Functions it is bit trivial. There are 2 ways to deploy them.
1. Using GUI - Copy and Paste the Function into the module where you have your mapping and then deply it into that location.
2. Using OMB+ -

Pre Amp Problems

Hello,
I recently purchased an M-Audio pre-amp and it is working perfectly with GarageBand but I'm having some problems with Logic
when I open logic I go to the window: audio >hardware and drivers then I choose my pre-amp as the driver and then I enable a track to record and
the levels work perfectly and when I record I cant hear anything.
I think that Logic is using my m-box as an audio IN and an audio OUT when I only need it as an audio IN.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO MAKE MY PRE-AMP JUST BE AN INPUT?

You need to create an 'aggregate device' in Audio/MIDI set up (in your utilities folder)
Add your M-Audio device as an input, then add your built-in audio as an output.
Now go to Logic's preferences -> audio -> drivers and in the popup you should now see your new aggregate device. Select it.
That should work. This is a common question, so if you search on "aggregate device" you should see a lot of posts that might help if you are still having problems.

Paul McCartney Pre-Order Problem with Sorting

I pre-ordered the new McCartney album last week (at which point it downloaded the "Ever Present Past" single) and when it became available today I downloaded the rest fine, except "Ever Present Past" (which should be song number 2) had a different album title ("Ever Present Past Single" or something like that) and thus didn't sort correctly with the rest of the album... so I edited the track to match the same album name and correct track number (being very careful to make sure that all of the fields in the Get Info window match the other tracks, and that there are no invisible spaces throwing it off), but it refuses to sort with the rest of the album... even tried to rebuild the iTunes Library file but that didn't work either... just curious if anyone else has a similar problem and/or a possible solution. Check out the emails I got from Apple on this:
"I understand that the single " Memory Almost Full" from the album you pre-ordered, will did not download with the album and now you're unable to listen to the album without it stopping to get to the single. Please note that re-downloading the album, will not resolve this issue. You are correct when you mentioned that this issue will happen because iTunes sees it as two different albums because it was downloaded separately. Don't worry. To resolve this issue, I recommend creating a playlist for the album itself. That way, you can arrange the contents of the album so that they will play without interruption.

Well, that's great...so not only do I have to isolate the album from the rest of my iTunes collection, it also does nothing to fix the issue on my iPod. So I responded to them as such, and got this response:

Is this ridicuous or what? Unbelievable. If I bought a CD in a store and the tracks were incorrectly burned on the CD, the store would take it back or at least try to exchange it for a new copy that wasnt defective. This TECHNICAL ISSUE needs to be resolved.

Business account Pre-order problem/question/help

I pre-ordered with my business account online. They allowed me to bill it to my account. I got a confirmation E-mail that gave me a 8 digit Reference # starting in MB

No order number or confirmation number so I cannot track my shipment. When I look in my transaction history all I see is my order was submitted and is currently "Pending"

That is all the information I can get. No one can tell me if its shipped, why it hasn't and why I have not received any more information with tracking or order numbers. Anyone else having this problem? Customer support is WORTHLESS. They can't look anything up and continue to tell me no one's phone has shipped even though I can clearly see on here that is not the case.

M Audio Mobile Pre USB Problems!?

Short term until the upgrade is decided upon any help with the problems we're having with our M Audio mobile pre usb would be greatly appreciated.
First off if the charger is plugged into the ibook whilst the sound card is plugged into USB and a guitar is connected you get electric shocks from the guitar strings?!?! happens with a number of guitars! Stops happening if you unplug the charger and run off the battery!
Secondly.....and this doesn't happen all the time but probably about half the time there's lots of interference when recording.
Software we're using is garageband 2.
Part of me thinks there must be something really wrong as surely this isn't right even with a relatively cheap external box.

I think that's not normal at all.
My first move (if it's new) is: run to the shop and swap it! And test the new one!
If not, report it to the M-Audio assistence team.
Also, I'm assuming you have earth on your plugs.

Palm Pre email problems since FIOS switched outgoing ports

My Pre is on Sprint but ever since FIOS sent the email that they were changing outgoing ports, my phone can no longer send emails, but it receives fine. Just hoping someone has advice/answer...

Really appreciate your assistance! My hosting people are being no help at all. I'm very familiar with "edit server list" - have been there often. It is my hosting person who tells me their logs show that none of the various emails I failed to receive on the first sending - for which I expand the headings and forwarded to him - have ever reach their server and therefore something's going wrong "out there" and they're not responsible. He even just suggested I sign up with gmail for my email service since I've been so much trouble to him. I've had an email address on my own server for ten years now - [email protected] - and don't want to change it!
I corrected the terrible instructions I got from AppleCare and reversed my incoming and outgoing server settings to audaud.com for regular email and to mail.aracnet.com SMPT for my two personal email addresses I want to send thru Aracnet. (and am paying them to forward them to the audaud.com server). However, when I just tried to reply to an email I received to [email protected] I got a warning I never saw before: (Thought I could attach a screenshot of it but can't seem to) It says "cannot send the message using the server audaud.com." Yet a few minutes later I sent an email to several of the writers for my site and it was sent. The settings were the same!
My hosting people told me to use Port 26 for sending but they refuse to tell me which port to use for INCOMING mail (using POP). Maybe the port settings are fouling me up, but why do they cause problems only part of the time? I don't use SSL.
Doesn't everyone receive via their email client "all the emails that get to the server?" Again: any directions on deleting the non-working import of the Eudora Address Book and doing it again properly with Eudora Mailbox cleaner?

Easy pre-load problem

Hi all,
Photographer's web site.
I'm using the attached code on a button to load pictures from
a local folder.
The pictures were exported from Adobe Image Ready as .swf
files and it all works fine.
Only problem is that some are BIG in terms of file size and
because I've been given "finished"
.swf files I can't put a pre-loader into the .swf that's to
be loaded.
Can I make some kind of reusable movie clip which resides in
the main (level 0) movie which runs a pre-loader
so that users will see a "loading" animation while these big
files load ?
Just to make it clear:
index.swf is a very basic movie with "next" and "previous"
buttons running the attached code to load the swf files which have
been supplied to me. The swf files which are loaded by this code
have been supplied to me and I can't edit them. I need a "loading"
animation/script which will sit in the index.swf to let users know
a new picture is loading.
Clear as mud ?

Pre trigger problems

Hello,
I'm having some issues with my project. I can't figure out what's wrong. The project is to build a FPGA-target which uses a trigger to start sampling data and it also needs to have pre/post trigger functions, but it just won't trigger when it's supposed to.

I'm quite stuck acctually. Right now, my FPGA works...bad. It triggers but now I'm using 3 FIFOs (one local) and I don't think this is neccesary. My host program is even worse, and it doesn't even uses the trigger.
Don't even bother to look at the Front Panel!

Depeche Mode Pre Sale Problem!!

I purchased Depeche mode's new album according to itunes i was suppose to get a password to get my tickets. But it never happend. Then i did some digging on ticket master. the site says if i purchased the album on itunes before Sept 21 i would get my pass word. But lower it says that presale for my city started yesterday and ends sept 30. Im totally confused on where my password Is any one else having this problem.

PRE 12 - Problem editing DSLR footage.

I have only recently purchased a new Canon Rebel T3i and chose to buy Premiere Elements as my video editor. This is my first venture into video editing and therefore I'm quiet new to everything. Upon imorting my footage into Premiere Elements (which is in the .MOV format) no orange line will appear over the video. The playback is then incredibly choppy and laggy and impossible to edit. The video recording size is 1920x1080 with 25fps. I have attempted converting the video to numerous different video formats but the problem continues to persist.
I am currently using an Acer Aspire 2920 with a 2.2GHz Intel Celeron processor. It is a 32 bit operating system running on Windows 7 Ultimate with 2.00 GB RAM.
I would be incredibly grateful if someone could tell me where the problem lies as it has been like this for over a week now and is driving me completely insane!
