To calculate cost from a cost factor to another

Hi,
Can we calculate cost from a cost factor to another?
ex:
A,B,X,Y,Z are cost factors
A is a combination of 3 cost factors such as X+Y+Z=A
B= 2.25 % of A.
How can we achieve this through pricing?

Javascript - Working with Dates, Selection Boxes & Pro-Rated Amounts to Calculate Costs

Hi, I'm looking for some help. I'm new to Javascript and working off my limited knowledge. Below are three (3) items I need help figuring out.
---JavaScript 1: Today---
I have a Document Level Javascript that gets the current date and automatically enters it into a field. Below is the example:
var f = this.getField("Today");f.value = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", new Date());
Problem: Each time I open the PDF, the date gets updated.
Need: I would like for the date to only be updated if the field is blank (empty).
---JavaScript 2: Registration Fee---
On this same form (application) I would like to calculate TWO costs. The first cost is mandatory registration cost, however the amount is prorated based on the month the application is filled out. Below is the pro-rated amounts based on the remaining months in the year:
Months Remaining     Fee
          12                       $15.00
          11                       $13.75
          10                       $12.50
          9                         $11.25
          8                         $10.00
          7                         $8.75
          6                         $7.50
          5                         $6.25
          4                         $5.00
          3                         $3.75
          2                         $2.50
          1                         $1.25
Note: The cost per month is $1.25. You are required to pay for the current month plus any remaining months.
So let's assume that you fill the application out in May 15th (05/18/2013). There are eight (8) months remaining in the year [May - Dec], so the pro-rated cost is $10.00 (See chart above).
For this calculation, I need to create a Document Level Javascript that would get the date from the field we used above called "Today" and calculate the "Registration Fee" based on the pro-rated amount. Then I would enter the cost into two fields (Dollars & Cents) as "10 00". (See below).
Form Example: $ [Text Field - Combo 2 characters] . [Text Field - Combo 2 characters] ---> "$ 10 . 00"

The next fee is an optional fee for a magazine subscription. On the form, the user will check a box (Named: "Subscription") if they want to subscribe to this magazine. This is similar to the example above in that the costs is based on a pro-rated amount. Below is the pro-rated amounts based on the remaining months in the year:

Two questions:
1. For "function calculateRegistrationFee", how do I format the return value into 2 parts in order to populate the different fields below. Let's use this example, see screen shot below:

No. If you used any upload tools like LSMW, perhaps you may use that for uploading the second controlling area.

Reposting of Planned Line Items from One Cost Ctr to another

You can use Transaction code KP06 to update the changes to the plan data for the Cost Centers. There is no separate transaction code to repost plan data for Cost Centers.

Transaction data from one cost center to another cost center

Hi All
Can any one tel me how to move the Transaction data from one cost center to another cost center .
My scenario is basically : Users posted for company code 1003 for Cost center S00570 for the period 01.04.2007 to 30.11.2007 but it has to go to company code 1000 instead of 1003 for the same Cost center .S00570 .
What we have done is that we have changed the cost center from 01.12.2007 on words to the correct company code 1000 and now all postings are going to the right company code ie
to company code 1000.
Now the problem is how to bring back the old historical data posted from 01.04.2007 to 30.11.2007 to wrong company code the 1003 to correct company code 1000 .
Is there a way to bring back the historical data which has posted to wrong company code .

Once you have changed the company code in the master data, then the entries with respect to the different company code cannot be transferred. Please follow the process below and let me know if it works.
1. Revert the cost center master data to the original company code.
2. Repost the line items from this cost center to another cost center. Use tcode KB61. The cost center you will be reposting will be a routing cost center (say XXXXX).
3. Once all the line items have been reposted, change the master data of the cost center to the correct company code.
4. Again repost the costs from the routing cost center(XXXXX) to the correct cost center. You should have all the line items to the correct cost center now.

Are you using out of box functionality of Workforce?
You can use the transfer functionality to transfer employee from one Cost Center to another? If Cost Center is not your entity dimension then you need to customize the out of box rules a bit.
How will alternate hierarchy help you in this case? Employee and Cost Centers are seperate dimensions or are they clubbed in one.
I think it should be the former case, isnt it?

Transfer actual costs from a Profit Center to another

Your future postings are taken care to the new Profit Center. You only need to address the posting in Jan 2007 or probably until the period you changed the Profit center in the WBS.
Since the value and number of transactions are likely to be limited in January 2007, you may want to use <b>9KE0</b> which is a direct posting to PCA. Identify the value that has gone to the old PCA for the period of Jan 2007, take that amount by cost element, use the same cost elements and amount and make the transfer posting. This is like a journal entry. Debit the old profit center and credit the new profit center with the same amount. This can be controlled by the minus signs to the amount.
Caution; This practise may not be followed too often, the access to thist-code may be restricted to avoid frequent usage.
For the history, you can take a download of the WBS with the amount you are going to transfer.

BPS Copy plan data from one cost center to another using vairables

Hi experts,
I am trying to copy the planning data from one cost center to another in BPS.
I have just done it using a copy function and in the parameter group entering the costs centers for source and destinations.
What I am trying now it is to let the user select what this destination cost center could be.
I don`t know if this can be done using a variable. What I am thinking is; when the user enters executes the parameter group a pop-up appear that let him select the cost center for the destination.
May be this is not possible. Can you suggest me other ways of doing this?

Hi,
u can achieve this by creating a variable with the replacement type as 'User Defined Values'. You also need to enable the check box 'Input Allowed by user'. And at the planning level, in the 'Selection' tab, you should map the charecteristic (Cost Center) with the created variable. Same thing should be done at the planning package level.
Then, when you execute the parameter group, a pop-up comes asking for the value of the costcenter.

ManuThe reason for the question about the format of the column is because the simplest solution only works on DATE columns. Others have mentioned this here, but if you want the difference between two date fields, you can use this formula:
TIMESTAMPDIFF(SQL_TSI_DAY, date_column1, date_column2)
The above being said, you still didn't tell me what you did, or what error message you received. So again, if the above formula didn't work, what did you do? Where did you put the formula? What was the exact syntax you used? What was the error message you got?
