To CR or not to CR, A Tip....

I am relatively new to LV so likely all of you gurus know about this...
I built a vi to capture a number of waveforms and write them to a binary file on an RTOS system, based on an external trigger turning ON. When the trigger turned OFF this state triggered an FTP transfer to my Windoze Host system, and then deleted the file on the RTOS system to keep the disk clear. During the development of this vi I built sections of it for testing and later put them all together.
The experimental section I built to write the file used the Write Binary File.vi and when I used WS-FTP to do the transfer I could then pull it into my Read.vi, which uses the Read Binary File.vi, and it displayed correctly. However, when I combined this with the other sections, suddenly I could not display these files any more. A probe showed me that all of the info was there but it just wasn't being displayed.
I ran both my "section" and the whole thing several times to get a few files to play with. Then I used a fancy editing program to display these files in several different formats, trying to find out what the story was. Eventually I discovered that the files which WOULD NOT display all had CR/LF combinations. The files which worked only had LF.
The Write Binary File.vi doesn't have any way to specify this so I looked a bit deeper. I noticed that, by default, WS-FTP transfers in BINARY format unless you specify diferently. I then took a look at the FTP Put File.vi and saw that it defaults to ASCII format. I added a TRUE constant to the "binary(F)" input and now everything works perfectly.
I hope this may be of some help to someone else in the future. It gave me fits for several days....

By inserting extra data you got
corrupted binary data and the chart got apparently confused by that.
Binary data is always very sensible to even single bit modifications.

If this is an iPad 1, it won't mirror, but it will still output video from the 30 Pin dock connector.
If your new TV has a conventional VGA in and stereo inputs you can try this connector.

I used to stream video from both Netflix and YouTube and from my Mac using iTunes sharing through my iPad then with this connector plug into my iPad and TV.
It won't be high resolution, but it will get you picture from iPad to TV.

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

In this case, it looks like Quicktime wasn't very efficient in managing memory, leading to a slowdown in playback. If QT has a lag and VLC doesn't, that's more evidence.
I couldn't say why your friend's windows computer plays the media fine, while your Mac doesn't. The only thing I could suggest is to disable QT streaming video - which has been known to slow down performance.

I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

As the error message says, you computer cannot connect to the network.
It is difficult for us to give advice since we do not know your network setup. Try the network diagnostics utility:
Open System Preferences -> Network ;
At the bottom of the window is a button labelled "Assist me", press it, then in the drop down panel press "Diagnostics" and inspect your network status.

I have PS CS4 Extended. When I start it I get a message that I need to reinstall it. I search Adobes and found a download for Mac which I installed and when started entered myserial number. It was not accepted. Any tips?

The file downloaded is named NikCollection_1.2.8_0511-456.dmg. The installation went ok but when I start photoshop i am prompted for my serial number,
I have it on the back on my CD case (but my CD is not working any more) and it is the same number as it registered at my Adobe account.
Photoshop starts ok but after a while it prompts for my serial number. When I enter my serial number it is not accepted.

Did you go here for the installer? Download CS4 products
When you enter the serial number see that you get the serial number correct, in fact copy and paste from the one in your account.
You should see a green checkmark.
If all goes well you should be allowed to install and activate. If activation fails, contact Customer Care by phone or Chat.

Whole screen is not repainted, need debug tips

We are running an application which uses some jogl for animaties.
Sometimes when the animation is finished and we set the GLCanvas to invisible, the normal
java JPanels are not repainted.
Also alt-tab to another windows application and back will not force a redraw.
The application itself is still working, clicking on a (now) not visible button will trigger
the jogl animations, and these are show correctly.
Also from logging it appear that the AWT-thread is not blocking.
We are looking for tips that can help find us the problem from logging
as it only appears a few times a week and it is not reproducable.

The problem is that most of the time it works, but after some hours/days, the java panels are not repainted.
There is no memory leak.
paintComponent is not overwritten, a object is made visible to do the animation.

So sometimes when we call stopAnimation(), the animation is stoppped, but the underlying java JPanels are not repainted.
When we now call startAnimation, the animation is shown and when stopped, no repaint for the normal JPanels.
Most times it is working perfectly, only sometimes it failes.
What can be the cause or what logging can be gather that might gives us a clue how to fix this problem.

Open a save dialog with a name of a not existing file as tip name

Hello, I`m using JFileChooser to save a file, but the file does not exist in the File System, it is only a Java File object.
Then I want to open the dialog with a name for this new file already in the field, then I can change the folders and the proposed name will still be there to be used.
I have found some posts pretty close to what I need but i could not solve my problem.

We just added Maverick to our Mac and now the magic mouse will not scroll with finger tips!!

We just upgraded our system to Maverick. Now our majic mouse does not respond to the finger swipe at all.

If your Magic Mouse is not scrolling, first go to the Mouse section of System Preferences and try toggling the "Scroll direction: natural" checkbox to see if it has an effect.

Downloaded standard apps like Facebook, amazon yesterday and they all worked fine. then down loaded a couple of games that wouldn't open however other apps still worked fine. Today nothing at all will open, have checked for updates and there is nothing on that front, i have restarted the i pad a couple fo times and nothing has happened.

Try doing a full hardware reboot by holding the home button and on/off button together for 10 seconds.
