To create a Universe Level filter for calculating one month's data

Hi Everbody, I am creating a Monthly report using Deski XI R2. My requirement is :At
the report prompt the user will enter only the Start Date (which will
be the first day of previous month) and the End Date will be
automatically taken as the last day of the previous month. Is there any way to implement this, if yes please resond ASAP... ThanksRoy

if you use oracle connection u can make it easy and use the oracle's functions like
CALENDAR.MY_DATE BETWEEN @Prompt('ENTER DATE','D',,MONO,FREE) AND LAST_DAY(CALENDAR.MY_DATE)
if u dont use oracle as a target database connection u can either look for the similar function in ur DBMS for "LAST_DAY" ,, i think its available for any DBMS

i think your date format and system date format is not suitable.
give the date format as 20090216 as system format.

Please ensure that you are using Adobe Acrobat and not Reader to convert PDF file to word or excel.
Could you tell me whether it is a scanned document? Does this happen with all PDFs or any specific one?
Do you get any error message? What exactly happens when you try doing the same?

That is not clear to me since they only appear to offer Anuual and Prepaid Annual options. You can always go with the free 30 day trial if you haven't already.

Create organis'l level field for auth. field that occurs in multiple object

When trying out PFCG_ORGFIELD_CREATE I ran into a problem:
I want to have an organisational level field for BEGRU in C_STUE_BER (Auth.grp in BOM-header);
there are other auth.objects that also have a field called BEGRU (eg M_MATE_MAR, M_MATE_MAT, F_BKKA_BPG);
we have roles that have several of these objects.
Running PFCG_ORGFIELD_CREATE leads to problems in those roles that have several of the objects with a field BEGRU. In general the values to be assigned to BEGRU in different objects is not the same.
The only solution i can think of is to have per role only one object with field BEGRU.
This would mean a serious redesign of our roles :-(.
Is there another option?

Another option is to create transactions for the BEGRU and maintain SU24 for them.
But that is not scalable for large BEGRU values and has an implication for menus and number of transactions, in addition to the number of roles...
But BEGRU fields should be used with caution, as the objects which use them are mostly not intended to be scalable (like P_PERNR is scalable....) so Su24 or well documentented "Maintained" authorizations might be an option to switch to.

I am facing the problemin creating the first level menus in the Oracle app. following are the steps that i followed:
Step 1)Created HTML Tab Menu with following properties:-

And after that i assigned the above created responsibility to the login user.,
But i am unable to get the tabs. Where I am commiting a mistake,i cann't undertand.Plz help..........

Try to compare the menu that you have created with Functional Administartor menu structure. It may help to debug your problem.

Filter for the current month

Hi all,
Our client wants to see the report for the current month whenever he opens the report. We have a field called date which shows the date when PO was created in the format of mm/yyyy and mmm yy(JAN 2004 or JAN 2007. How should I create a filter report or Drill not Query to filter the data for the current month only.

filter the data for the current month only.
It will work best setting up a filter at the Universe level. You don't mention the database vendor, but for instance if it was SQL Server you could use something like this:
select convert(char(11),getdate(),101)
Essentially you'll take the current date and modify it to conform to the MMM/YYYY format....

Filter for an 2D array of data, to obtained and defined range of data

I am generating data from a ultrasonic sensor at 1K Hz, and its a lot of data (data points range from 0-10). However, in some cases when I know data should be around 7 (for example) I get outliers (about 9 and around 10). Is there a way to set a filter to obtain data in defined range.
I will be average the data obtained to get a mean value, and the outliers are spoiling it. In worst case, my outliers are 30-40% of the data generated. I created a filter to sort the data and taking data starting from lowest value. I stop the loop when data hits a higher value then 9. But this seems to take a lot of time (since the loop checks for each data point and there are 1000s of them).
Is there a better way to filter this data and set a pre-defined range for array to be collected?
I am attaching my filter.vi.. and a sample data set from my previous run. The data ranges from 10 -8, and would like to have range set to 7.5 to 8.5 to be considered. The sensor is recording voltage here, and the problem can be solved in installing a different type of sensor, but a if a filter in LabView can due it, the sensor we are using now is absolute great.
I am in kind of emergency, my design in stalled due to this problem, if anyone can find sometime to share few suggestions, I will be grateful.

See attached. I embedded the data you posted into the vi. It didn't seem like any data was less than 8.7 or so, so I modified the range so there would be some points to average. Some sets were completely out of range so the mean came back as NaN (not a number) because of a divide by zero.

Set filter for only one column in tableview

Hi
i am using in MVC a htmlb:tableview with filter in only one column of 8.
This is all working fine, except that the user can enter a searchsting in the filterfield for all columns, but in handle_event (of the controller) ; i only react to a text in the filterfield of column 4 and ignore all other filtertext , which were maybe entered in the other columns.
My question:
how can i enter the filter only for one column, in a way that the user cannot enter any text in the filterfield of the other columns, only in column 4 ?
my view:

You can disbale the Filter for the particular column by setting the DISABLE_FILTER in the Iterator method IF_HTMLB_TABLEVIEW_ITERATOR~GET_COLUMN_DEFINITIONS. Here is the sample code

If I understand you correctly, you are loading data, then clearing out the current month->current year, and then aggregating current month->current year? There isn't going to be any data there -- you've cleared it out in your second step.
I think the order you want is:
1) Clear out the current month->current year to be sure it's a good load
2) Load the current month->current year
3) Aggregate the current month->current year
This could be done with a single Maxl that controls two calc scripts and one import database (clear, import, agg) or you could do it manually.
The default calc is (generally) equivalent to CALC ALL using db properties (UPDATECALC, AGGMISSG, etc.). There shouldn't be practical difference between that and the AGG portion of your calc.
I would again confirm that all of your data is at the lowest level, i.e., you can navigate to leaf level on all dimensions and pull a data value before you aggregate. Perhaps you are loading to upper level members and don't realize it. I often use the Excel add-in's Styles to tell me if I'm at the lowest level of a db or not.

Assessment Cycle(KSU5) - Allocating Cost for Only One Month

Hi,
I want to allocate cost relating 2008 from cost centres to WBS. For that I'm trying run the assessment cycle(ksu5). The test results shows allocation of cost for the month of Sep2008. i.e It doesn't allocate cost that are posted before sep and after september though the cost centre has costs from Apr 2008. My Assessment cycle period starts from 01.04.2008 and is valid for the whole year till 31.03.2009. I've 3 WBS elements to which the costs for the whole year has to be posted according to the no. of hours. Among 3WBS one is created in the month of Apr 2008 and the other is created in Aug 2008 and the last one is create in Dec 2008.
So Can anyone tell me why the cost is not posted for all the months.

Hi,
Please check the Cumulative indicator in the Assessment Cycle definition. If the Cycle is not cumulative then it would not include costs of earlier month for allocation.
Go to - KSU2 and in the Header screen you will find the check box called Cumulative.
While executing the cycle through KSU5 in the selection screen you will have to specify period from and period to. It will automatically consider all costs upto the period.

Why is Verizon charging me monthly for my cellular iPad access when I signed up for just one month? Who do I contact?

I signed up for Verizon's month to month plan for cellular access and just discovered they are automatically renewing my monthly charges without my permission. Who and how can I contact Verizon to stop this and refund one month of unused cellular access? Please advise.

Well then I stand corrected. I bought my iPad with a Verizon MIFI2200 WiFi hotspot directly from Verizon Wireless when they were running a promo last October. Verizon had just started selling the iPad and they came out with this deal and I took advantage of the offer. My plan is also a month to month access plan, but as far as I know, you still have to contact Verizon to stop the service. I know with my plan, unless I specifically cancel the plan, it carries over to the next month. The advantage to this plan is that there was no contract to sign and I can cancel at anytime without any early termination fee. However, I still have to cancel the service if I don't want it to continue.
The bottom line is that the plan will continue month to month - there is just no contract to hold you to a two year agreement. You may have misunderstood or maybe you got bad information from the Apple rep, but what Verizon is doing is not being done without your permission - AFAIK. That is how month to month plans work.
If you really feel that the Apple rep misrepresented this to you, then why don't you go back to him/the store - whatever and plead your case with him/her/the store?
