To deactivate Batch Management

Hi,
Requirement: To deactivate Batch management for a material in plant.
I have already done the following:
1: Checked the Status of Article in MMBE for total batches of the article.
2: There are no open Purchase Order (Checked Table EKPO as well as ME2M)
3: There are no Purchase Requisitions. (Checked Table EBAN)
4: There is no Stock in Transit MB5T
5: There is no Plant availability Stock MB53
6: There is no Reservation MB25
7: Previous Period Stock is zero. Use MM03 with Plant Stock & Storage Loc. View. Both previous and current period stock is 0.
8: No Stock requirement exists (MD04)
9: The Batch Corresponding to the plant for the article is set for deletion indicator
(MSC2N)
But after all these when I uncheck 'Batch Management' in Purchasing tab of MM02, i get the message :
The batch management requirement cannot
be changed for the following reasons:
Batches already exist.
Please help advise

Hi,
Please, delete any open documents and reverse any material movements on this material. If batches - even zero stock batches - are still assigned to the material, delete them and reorganize the tables MCH1, MCHA and MCHB. At this point the flag can be changed, also consider that  :
1) If you want to change the batch management, it is not enough to
check for stock. You must also reorganize all existing batches for the
material. You can do this using the TA MM73 and MM74 or SARA. After
you have reorganized the batches you should be able to change
the batch management. The Object to use in the txn SARA is MM_SPSTOCK.
(You must first set the deletion flag for the batch using txn MSC2N.  )
2) If you have defined the batch level in the TA OMCE to 'unique at
material level' it is not possible to turn off the batch management
flag in one plant. You can can only turn it off for all plants at the
same time. That means if you want to turn it off, the system checks
all plants for the existence of stock. In other words, the batch
management flag will be the same for all plants at any time if you
use the batch level 'unique at material level'.
Hope this can help

Mauro

  • How to deactivate batch management at material master?

    Dear Sir/Madam,
At the configuration,I have set "Batch Management" to be activated in plant level.  I have a problem which some of the plants do not use batch management.I understand that if you tick "Batch Management" field in material master, batch management is activated for the material in that plant.
    1. How do prevent user to tick "Batch Management" field in the material master which appears in the following views (depending on the material types):?
    - Sales: General/Plant
    - Purchasing
    - Plant data/Stor.1
    - Work Scheduling
    2. Is there any alternate way to prevent user to activate "Batch Management" in that material of their own plant despite it is activated at plant level in the configuration?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Rgds,
    Esther Chong

batch status management is just what its name says, you manage your batches with status (unreastricted use, restricted use).
But his comes only into place after you have activated batch managment, it is not causing batch managment, it is only working with batch managment.
Removing batch managment is almost impossible, you have to archive all batches first, to be able to archive the batches, you have to archive the production orders...creation of a new material is in most cases easier and quicker.
Wit batch managment at plant level each plant can independently decide if a material is batch managed or not.
if you want to restrict the entry of the batch management flag, then you have to customize your material master field selection at plant level.

  • Deactivate batch

    Hello
I am unable to deactivate batch management indicator in Material Master. It shows Batches exist. Though i have deleted and archived the batch numbers.
    Pls explain. Thanks

    Hi,
The OSS Note: 533383 May be helpful.
    Below is the extract:
In the extact another note : 30656 aslo mentioned..
    ===============================================================
    Symptom
Your attempt to reset the batch management requirement indicator for a material in material master maintenance fails because there are stocks or documents that are not yet completed such as production orders, sales orders, deliveries, WM transport requests, or there are batches that are not yet archived.
    Other terms
    MARA-XCHPF, MARC-XCHPF, RVBREVMATBM
    Solution
Here, the standard procedure is to clear stocks of the current and the previous period as well as to complete the open documents. Note 30656 provides further information about this.
Alternatively, in the case of a large data or document volume, you can use a conversion report from the batch development that deletes the batch management requirement indicator without the necessity of manual preliminary works such as the posting of the stocks or the completion of open documents.
We have developed the main features of this report, but it must be adjusted to individual business processes in a customer project that is subject to charges.
If you require further information about functions of this tool or about running such a customer project, you can send an e-mail to the consulting department (BMTools attherate sap.com).

  • Easy or flexible ways to deactivate the batch management!

    Hi Experts,
In our company , we want to deactivate the batch management for some materials.
I know it is not an easy way to do this according to the SAP Note  30656:
to clear stocks of the current and the previous period as well as to complete the open documents.
It is very painful to do the standard procedure as SAP provide.
I want if there is some easy or flexible ways to deactivate the batch management.
For example , to change for new material number.
Or we can set the batch number value to a fixed value, for example "1234" for all these materils.
Are there any other easy or flexible ways to deactivate the batch management?
May be do not need toremove the batch management indicator in the material master?
Just make it simple for all the goods movement that with batch number value input?
    Thanks for any reply!

Dont just state a program name without giving the warnings and further explanations from the OSS note:

  • Batch Management-Identified Stock

    Dear Expert
Process Over View Batch Management: I have given Purchase order for 100 ton Steel Coil for Single Grade NV23S-100L ,Purchase order release with single line item NV23S-100L quantity 100 Ton, once I received the material I  am receiving 10 Coils with same grade but each and every coil have 25-30 Specific Attributes, Like Weight , Heat No, Lot No, Coil Width ,AS,AG etc , which I am sharing with my customer in India when I am selling my Steel Coils and made product , which I want to manage in ByDesign System. I want to manage my inventory behalf of my Coil Grade Specification.
in SAP By Design, we have  identified stock, I am looking for an option to add 28-30 more fields in Identified Stock Screen , which will reflect into my Inbound Delivery and Goods Receipt and Production, because as per my client requirement I want these more fields on the entry screen ,in this I also want an option of printing so that I can take a preview of it.
I am working to solve this issue  with SDK ,We have created one business Object MTC  where one complete line item denote with 28-30 fields and the business object instance is Identified Stock ID, I want this Identified Stock Id behave as SAP ByDesign System Identified Stock ID,
we have identified Stock ID in Inbound, Outbound and Production but there we have one pop with 2-3 fields only I tried to Map my Business Object Instance ID which is Identified Stock ID. The Purpose here for this , Barcode will work in ByDesign System Identified Stock and Product ID basis IN-OUT.  When I am receiving goods my client want to use Barcode Machine and the same for Outbound Delivery and he want to manage this process through Bar Code because of his Product Grade is same but same each product have different 25-30 specification which can be done through Identified Stock ID.
In ByDesign system we have only Pop Up with 3-4 fields for your reference I am attaching screen shot here as per the Customized solution possible which I am working its not allowing me map my  Business Object Instance ID to System Identified Stock ID because of PSM Issue.
Kindly please help me if anyone face this issue earlier, or he have some workaround, Please let me know.
    Regards,
    Achyut

SAP provided two reports which can update or remove BATCH MANAGEMENT INDICATOR and BATCHES without removing the material stocks and documents. We need to close only open physical inventory documents.
The below reports update, all relevant documents based on batch activation/de-activation:
u2022 RVBCONVMAT2BM - Sets the batch management requirement indicator.
u2022 RVBREVMATBM - Removes the batch management requirement indicator
But,these programns will not be available in standard SAP,they has to procured form SAP.

  • Cancel batch management

    Hi,expert
I maitained a material with batch management, I want to cancel batch managment now. But I have do the goods reciept and the batch number is already created. Even I cancel the goods reciept, MSC2N set the deletion flag for this batch number.the system still not allow me to change the setting.
What can I do now? Can I switch to non-batch mangement?

    Wang,
In standard SAP there is no option, except to Archive and Delete the current Batch Records. Once the batch records are deleted, then you would be allowed to deactivate the Batch Management for the material.
    Please refer OSS Notes#533383.

  • SAP MM Batch Management

    Hi All,
Can anybody explain how to delete the batches? My client wants to make the Batch Management field deactivate in the material master. The stock is zero for this material and I am not able to delete the existing batches.

    Hello,
First you have to flag your batch records for deletion - MSC2N - and after that you can archive them - MM74. See if this helps.

  • About Batch management

    Hi gurus,
We have been using SAP from last 3 years. Till date we are not using Batch Management.
    Now my questions are
    1) Can we activate Batch management now? I am already having open PR ,PO and stock.
    2) What are the pros and cons of using it in between?
    3) If I want to deactivate it in future after implementation what I have to do?

  • Exclude batch managed inventory from MI31

How can we exclude those materials that have a batch attached to them from being included in the MI31 selection when it creates thePI document? We have deactivated the batch management tick in the material master, however, there is still stock sitting in the batch so we want to exclude it from the count.

    Hi,
Though you have removed the Batch management  indicator in Material master, the created batche won't go anywhere. Stock will be present and will reflect in PI. If you set the batch management indicator in material master and once batch creared and transaction executed, you cannot deactivate the batch management. I hope it gives you clarity. Thanking you.

  • Cost(vprs) of free goods with batch managment

    Dear Gurus,
I have a problem ahout free goods with batch management.
Cost(VPRS) is not accumulated in billing(free goods is not relevant for billing).
My configurations are shown as below:
Ordered goods (and batch) item category :zta1(copied from tan)
Free goods (and batch) item category :zann (copied from tann) pricing:B ;not relevant for billing;dermination cost:X
    copy control(from delivery to billing):
    ztan: accumulation cost :X
If I use the material without batch management,Cost of free goods(without batch) is accumulated to main item(ordered goods).
    So, what can I do?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Lykin Kan

    Hi,
    These notes are useful:
SAP Note 1365939 - VPRS logic and Customizing settings in SD
SAP Note 547570 - FAQ: VPRS in pricing
If you have the problem in the transfer from SD conditions to CO-PA, check if you transfer only invoices to COPA, if you don't invoice the deliveries of free goods, then you don't transfer this 'sales' or costs of 'gifts' to COPA. You can check the customizing of COPA in tcode ORKE (IMG for COPA). SAP Note 74486 - INFO: Overview of consulting notes for CO-PA is a good summary about this issue.
    I hope this helps you

  • Error while importing N Accounts to 1 Address with UCM Batch Manager

    Hi,
I got a problem with importing Accounts using the UCM Batch Manager. Previous steps were loading the EIM Tables EIM_UCM_ORG and EIM_UCM_ADRPER. To associate addresses I used the column EIM_UCM_ADRPER.PAR_UCM_ACCNT_UID. No errors occured during an Enterprise Integration Mgr jobs to load the data into SDH tables.
The error described below occurs if I have N Accounts using one Address. Example:
    h5. Account Name --> City --> Postal Code --> State --> Street

    Hi Abaper,
Free Goods Determination follows the condition technique and hence you should have one condition type assigned to it one access sequence and then maintain the condition type (NA00) in a Free Goods Determination  Procedure (NA0000).
Then assign this procedure to your permitted sales area and maintain the free goods determination master data (VBN1).
Also Check the settings of Item Category Assignment
    It should be ORNORMFREE+TAN -
    > TANN.
By this settings your free goods should work.
    Reward if it helps you

  • VPRS with Free Goods and Batch Management

    Dear Experts,
I have a problem on the products billing with Free Goods.
I will explain this, before the implementation of Batch Management (with batch split) the billing document show the condition VPRS on the main item (TAN) and the free goods item (TANN).
Now, when the Batch Management was up, the condition VPRS disappeared on the TANN item, I checked the order and it does shows the VPRS conditions. When i check the conditions on the billing document it shows me the following message when i check the VPRS condition
Condition ignored (requirement 004 not fulfilled)
Then I tried to debug the price determination and i realized that only on the TANN position the field komp-evrwr (price determination on the item category) is not 'X'.
Aditionally i can mention thar the batch split item category is defined as YG05.
Actually i only managed to show the cumulated VPRS cost on the main item.
Please someone say to me if this correct or there is a way to put the VPRS on the free goods item.
    Javier Sandoval Vera
    Ecuador

    Hi Javier,
what do you do with the VPRS in your calculation- system ?
If you need i, you delete the requirement 004 in your calculation -system.
on the other hand, you can change TANN to komp-evrwr (price determination on the item category) is  'X'. Then you have to add an 100% rabate for TANN and the resukt will be free good.

Free goods is determined per sales order item. The system does not take the sum of more items. You have to insert the quantity on one item.
