To find the number that has the highest value

I have an internal table with one field containing numeric values. I want to know the number that has the highest value. Can you tell me how do I do that?
Is there any keyword for this?

  Use the below procedures..
<b>CASE 1</b>
SORT <itab> by <Fld>
where <itab> - Internal Table.
and <Fld>     - Field Name ( in your case it is the field with numeric values)
describe table <itab> lines <no_of_lines>
<no_of_lines> - total number of lines in the table.
read table <itab> index <NO_OF_LINES>
the above read statement gives the highest record.
<b>CASE 2</b>
SORT <itab> by <Fld> descending.
where <itab> - Internal Table.
and <Fld>     - Field Name ( in your case it is the field with numeric values)
read table <itab> index 1.
the above read statement gives the highest record.

    We have  aggregate functions in SQL. Some of the functions are as follows.
    MAX(col ) Determines the maximum value of the value in the column col in the resulting set or in the current group.
    MIN( col ) Determines the minimum value of the content of the column col in the resulting set or in the current group.
    AVG(  col ) Determines the average value of the content of the column col in the resulting set or in the current group. The data type of the column has to be numerical.
    SUM( col ) Determines the sum of the content of the column col in the resulting set or in the current group. The data type of the column has to be numerical.
    COUNT( col ) Determines the number of different values in the column col in the resulting set or in the current group.
    For further details , type the function name name and press F1 for further help.
    Eg: select count(mantr) from mara into workarea where condition.

  • How to find the RGB Values of a Color for Hyperion

    When customizing your Hyperion forms, we come across situations where we need the exact RGB value of a given color. This article explains a simple technique to find the RGB values using MS Paint and the Calculator applications that come as standard applications with your operating system.
    Here are the steps to find the exact RGB value of a given color.
    1) View your Hyperion form using IE, scroll down until you see the color you want to find the RGB value and press the "Print Screen" button (in your keyboard).
    2) Open MS Paint and click Edit -> Paste or simply Ctrl+V. What you saw in the browser will be copied as a new untitled image.
    3) Select the Color Picker tool and click on an area that has the color you want to match.
    4) Now go to Edit Colors... option and click on the "Define Custom Colors >>" button. The color you picked will be selected on this palette. At the bottom right hand corner you will see the Red, Green and Blue values you need. Note down the R,G,B values (given in decimal).
    5) Now we need to find out the hexa-decimal values that correspond to those decimal values. This is where we use the simple Calculator. Open the Calculator application from Program -> Accessories. Switch to the scientific mode by clicking View ->Scientific.
    6) By default it will be in the decimal number mode. Enter the R value (238 in this example) and click on the Hex radio button. The corresponding hexa-decimal value (EE in this case) will be shown in the dial.
    The selected color in this case has the same value for R, G and B. (In fact, all shades of gray has the same values for R, G and B.) Therefore, the RGB value of the background color that we need is #eeeeee. Repeat step 6 to find out the hex value for the Green and Blue elements, if they are different.
    Tip:
    If you find it difficult to pick a color, zoom the image by pressing Ctrl+PageDown or using View -> Zoom -> Custom... option.

    These tips are to find the RGB color of HFM default row where row is text and text lines in data columns are also visible to business users as Yellow as an input cell. By applying the same RGB color you can apply the same color to your data cells or rows. This post shows how to identify color from any web view-able object.

         It compiles fine but when I try and run it I get a

    TestStatDouble 37 is

    Couple of points about your code:
    1. Don't declare your instance variables as solid types, declare them using their interfaces (where applicable), so in your case don't specifiy that you are using Vector or Hashtable, use List and Map. This will allow you to easily change your code to use a different collection, if and when appropriate. Also the unnecessary overhead of Vectors synchronisation means that you should use ArrayList instead of vector (that means that you will have to use get(int) instead of elementAt() but that's a very small price to pay.
    2. Declare local variables as close to their point of usage as possible. (Unless you need to do this for your course work, in which case you don't have a choice).
    3. Use the appropriate data type. For your count of null values you should be using an int or a long (you can't have a fractional count value!) Also, this should have been obvious to you, when you had to cast the value to an int for use with your lists. (Using double as an index is a very bad idea... And before you go posting the question, do a search on why floating point precision may not give you the results you expect)
    4. Code defencively... e.g. in your meanDouble() method, you set nonNull to 0, and then you do a division using that value. What do you think is going to happen if your loop doesn't execute once? Division by zero... You should handle these cases, rather than letting them fail ignominiously.
    5. If you are doing code like this...    if (currentDouble != null) {
            // / nothing to do
        } else {
            nbNull++;
        } Why have the empty block? You should just do the inverse.
        if (currentDouble == null) {
            nbNull++;
        } Far simpler, and expresses exactly what you are trying to do, not what you are not trying to do.
    6. Enumeration --- What version of java is that course being run in? I can see that you are using autoboxing, so it has to be 1.5 so, WHY is your lecturer encouraging the use of Vectors, Hashtables, and Enumerations!?!?!
    Anyway, that should be enough to be going on with.

  • How to find the PREVIOUS value of a non-DB item?

    I want to do a simple thing but found it impossible.
    I want to find the previous value of a non-DB item in a form.
    I tried creating a text item and populating it using PRE-TEXT-ITEM but that does not work.
    WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM does not work either because WVI fires only after item value has changed.
    Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    You can use Global variables for to store old values also on Post-query populate a value in separate field or Parameter

  • Unable to find a WSDL that has a definition for service

    Dear all
    I have a very simple composite applicationexposing a web service. When I deploy the application I get:
    There was an error deploying the composite on soa_server1: Deployment Failed: Unable to find a WSDL that has a definition for service {http://soa/sf/login}bpelprocess1_client_ep and port loginPort_pt. Please make sure that the port attribute for the binding defined in the composite file is correct by checking the namespace, service name, and port name. In addition, check that the WSDL associated with the binding namespace is imported and currently reachable (check the import nodes at the top of the composite file). Finally, validate the HTTP proxy settings for the server.
    However the build process shows no errors. The entire application was built using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 using a pre-constructed WSDL. The SOA suite is 11.1.1.5
    Any pointers will be really appreciated.

    There's only ports login_port_11 and login_port_12 defined...

  • Dynamic filter to capture the highest value at runtime.

    Hi,
         Is there a way through which we can have a dynamic filter in Webi, which would automatically filter the maximum value from a list of values associated with a dimension object? 
         I have the following scenario :- I have a dimension object called 'Plan Version', whose list of values would typically be 00, 01, 02, 03.....and so on. These values are updated in the database after every 15 days. Now, in my report, i need to display the data which would be associated only to the highest 'Plan Version' value. This requires me to apply a filter on the highest value of 'Plan Version', which is not a difficult job to do if it has to be a static filter. However, I need it to be a dynamic filter, i.e., every time a new plan version is uploaded in the system, and if the report is refreshed, the report filter should automatically select (highlight) the highest value for 'Plan Version' and display the data accorsingly.  One way would be to use the 'Max' function, but aggregate functions cannot be used in filters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Alok,
    You're correct, using Max(). But you have to apply/use it @Universe level not @Query panel.
    Create Object @Universe:
    Plant version = Max([Plant Version]) and make it as Dimension type.
    Now use this Plane version object for Prompt @ Query level. So that it will fetch max value for the Plant Version all times.

    It looks like you're not interested in the MAX at all.  It looks like you want to rank the rows, such that the one with the lowest value is assigned the number 1, the row with the 2nd lowest values gets 2, ..., and the row with the N-th lowest value gets N.  If doesn't matter if the MAX is 4, or 2, or 420.
    Here's one way to do that:
    SELECT    t.*
    ,         RANK () OVER ( PARTITION BY  r_nm, r_obj
                             ORDER BY      val
                           )  AS rk
    FROM      t
    ORDER BY  r_nm, r_obj
    ,         val
    Depending on how you want to deal with ties, you might want to use ROW_NUMBER or DENSE_RANK instead of RANK.

    but the same query(select  apps.FND_PROFILE.VALUE('ORG_ID') from dual ) in custom schema (XXCVBB) returning null value..
    Is there  any pre steps I have to do...
    kindly provide the useful inputs to retrieve the profile value..........

    Hi,
    fnd_profile.value('ORG_ID'); will fetch you value only if there is a organization assigned to any application [or only if its  a single Org], being it custom application you should have used set policy context or mo_global.init to populate the global temporary table which will hold all the Org's which that specific user has access too.
    in your custom code use MO_GLOBAL.SET_POLICY_CONTEXT('S','ORG ID WHICH YOU NEED TO SET');
    after setting the policy context, you should be able to see value from fnd_profile.value('ORG_ID');

    Purpose of mo_global.init :-
    It will check if new Multi Org Security Profile is set, to decide if new Security Profile method will be used.
    If the new MO security profile is set, then mo_global.init inserts one record, for each Organization in Org Hierarchy, in table mo_glob_org_access_tmp
