To get f4 search help in Abap Web dynpro

Hi web Dynpro Experts,
i want to achieve XK03 Tcode payment mode search help functionality in abap webdynpro,in clearly When i press f4 i payment mode input field a view should open with different payment modes like
a.ebanking payment method,
b.ebanking treasury pay method,
c.cheque ..etc..with check boxes when i select a and b methods types it should concatinate and shown as ab in payment methods field.
I checked for this there is no predefined search helpin data element level(dzwels),and domain level,i hope it is provided by programming.
if i want to achieve f4 search help through free programming?how to do that?
how to re use the same screen design which is in XK03?
please guide me to come out of this issue

PERNR search help in ABAP Web Dynpro

All,
I wish to add a search help based on PERNR into my web dynpro application.
I have used the code:
*create a range table
lt_range_table = wd_this->m_handler->create_range_table( i_typename = 'ZEMP_SEL' ).
*add a new field to range table
wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field( i_id = 'PERNR'
it_result = lt_range_table
i_read_only = read_only ).
And I have defined ZEMP_SEL as a data element with domain PERNR. This has added the search help to my screen but when i used it and select an entry from the search help, it populates the screen with the employee name and not the employee number.
Does anybody know why this would happen? or what should I use in I_TYPENAME for the search help to work properly

R/3 search helps in java web dynpro

Hello,
A customer of ours has some Z transactions in its R/3 system, which basically present a very simplyfied version of MIGO. This Z transaction makes extencive use of Search Helps, which in some cases have been extended.
A ABAP developer with some Web Dynpro experience showed me that it was easy to integrate these search helps into his web dynpro application.
I cannot find how to do this in java web dynpro with the developer studio. Is this possible and if yes, how?

Hi Walter,
You can use search helps in Web Dynpro for Java also. The feilds with check table in R/3 automatically give search helps. To provide explicit search help you need use EVS or OVS.

Search Help exits using Web Dynpro abap

Hi,
Before returning the values selected by the user to the input field, i have to set a column of the F4 result list based on some computation. How can i do that?

         I have a small doubt in web dynpro Java. Basically I am an ABAP developer. We created some custom Remote function modules (RFM). Now are able to call RFM through web dynpro JAVA in the portal. We are able to run the RFMs in the portal.
         But we have problem with search help. How can I built the search help for the input fields in the portal using web Dynpro Java.
         Can we bring standard search help (which is exist in R/3) in the portal?

I think there is no standered functionality available in WDJava to achieve this functionality like ABAP or WDAbap. but, you can still achieve this using OVS option. to do this also, first you should have an interface which can talk to the R3 system and search the dB as per the query parameters i.e, an RFC which can the desired form of input and give you the desired output.

Is abap web dynpro is a netweaver product?

Dear experts,
is abap web dynro is a netweaver product? ..i wonder why is it categorized under application server in sdn forums can anyone explian..
in addition to abap i am willing to learn abap web dynpro.how would be the prospectes of abap web dynpro in the us market ...or do u suggest any other hot topic to learn?..please feel free to comment on my idea and kindly suggest me a better option if my idea is not ideal....
i am not into java till now so i am not willing to learn java web dynpro..
please suggest a better option so that i can use my abap skills to the fullest..

This is the hot technology in the market and if you are not a JAVA guy then you must go with ABAP Web dynpro.

Entering Data in Table (ABAP Web Dynpro )

Hi Experts,
I need help in ABAP Web Dynpro Table. I have a table where multiple line item rows are there.
In each row there is a input text field to enter the quantity. Usually the the user would not click the lead selection and enter the field value. The user would enter the value in any of the rows, but the lead selection will not change accordingly. therefore the validation will not work properly.
Kindly guide me the way.

If you have any button in the view,suppose like save or before leaving that particular view ypu can do the validations.
if you have a button.
What you can do is ,on action handler of button
Read the table and loop through it and do the validations.

How to use search help in abap dynpro

i have created a search help in dictionary and used it in my database table. now i want to use it in web dynpro component. while running my application when im clicking on input help field, it is giving an error -"The Entered Values is not on the list of Selected Values." how do i resolve it?

     for example, create a search help for matnr in mara. create an attribute of type mara-matnr or matnr. by default you will get a search help or you can assign your own too. this is the general process.
       you might have assigned a search help of different data type to an attribute of different data type or
       you would have entered a value in the input help and then clicked the search help which is not having those values.

Get portal user logon details from abap web dynpro

Hi all,
I am developing an abap web dynpro which will be added via an iview to our ees/mss portal. What i need to know is how do i get the current user logon details in my web dynpro! i.e. if a user is loged into the portal using personnel number 111111 i need to be able to capture this value so that i can retrieve hr data for this personel number! any information would be much appreciated!

Hi Mart,
You can pass "iv_user=<User.LogonUid>" as application parameter in iview.
add iv_user parameter in HANDLEDEFAULT method of default window of webdynpro component.
that's it.
when u run your webdynpro application, you can have value of portal logged on userid in iv_user.

I dont think there are any standard components available on Webdynpro Java like ABAP. But, there are quite a few standard Project available on SDN if you want to practise some exercises. Just do a search on SDN you get lot of standard example projects that you download and Import them in to the WebDynpro Java Perspective of NWDS.

I have checked this error description in ST22 :
What happened?
    The exception 'CX_WDR_RT_EXCEPTION' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere
     along
    the call hierarchy.
    Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
    adequately responded to, the running ABAP program
     'CL_WDR_CLIENT_APPLICATION=====CP' has to be
    terminated.
Error analysis
    An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_WDR_RT_EXCEPTION', was not caught
     and
    therefore caused a runtime error.
    The reason for the exception is:

Looks to me like you are trying to fire a navigation plug within WDDOMODIFYVIEW. According to the rules of the WD Phase Model this is not allowed.

ABAP Web Dynpro application in new UWL tab

Hi All,
I have been looking for an option to open a web dynrpo abap application in a new tab in UWL which i created. I have been searching on SDN for this but i could only find the help docs which say how to open a task in web dynrpo abap application.
But in my case i want to open a web dynpro abap application on click of a new tab in UWL. The WD ABAP application doesn't have any workflow task.
Also is it possible to restrict the tabs which user see based on their roles ?
please help me on this.

to open in adminstrative mode do as follows:
In se80 ,i.e in the menu bar:
Web Dynpro Application->Test->Test in Administation mode.
i hope u can see the option "Settings for surrent config" .

ABAP Web dynpro iview in your own namespace

Dear All,
We have our own name space in ECC under which all our portal development have taken place. When we test our abap web dynpro application it works fine as we have created a new node in SICF /<namespace>/webdynpro.
But now when we create ABAP webdynpro IView in portal it always opens up the iview with http://hostname:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/<namespace>/webdynpro/applicationname
where as we want
http://hostname:port/<namespace>/webdynpro/applicationname

To begin with -
Is there any specific need to have separate namespace at ECC level.
I believe name space is more relevant at the Java stack where we have com.abc instead of com.sap.
You define ZA and ZC for your Web Dynpro App and Component respectively & placed under ZXXX package name.
So the custom is clearly distinguishable from standard. So, is there a strong business need to define a separate namespace in ECC ?
By default when you create your Z WD - It gets added under /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/za_* for instance.
So long story short - It is better to house your custom WD ABAP under standard SAP namespace, taking care of other Z conventions. Because from Portal integration stand point this works better currently (could be a framework limitation at this point).
In your case -
see if you have 2 WDA services under default and custom namespace in SICF. In case of duplicate deactivate the one you dont require. Make a reference from iView and specify the custom namespace in the iView.
Worst case switch to Option # 1.

Abap web dynpro and portal events

First off, a little introduction: My name is Martin Kroppen, I am an Abap developer for SAP Netherlands, and I am currently involved in a project for hospitals to built a portal. For this, I have created 2 Abap web-dynpros, and then impemented the views as iviews in an EP. What I want to achieve is that the input view triggers the display view on a second page, and the data is shown for the values in the input view (all in the same browser window).
I am using the portal integration manager for this, with the method for relative navigation.
The navigation is working fine, only problem is that I don't know how to handle the business parameters that I send over.
My questions are:
1. is this the correct way for navigating between abap webdynpro iviews in the portal?
2. what is the correct way to read the business parameters into my context of the second Abap WD application?
I tried the solution that is described below, I could not get it to work correctly.
If you define BUSINESS_PARAMETERS as application parameters in your Web
Dynpro application and the parameter names start with ″APP″, they will
automatically be forwarded to the startup plugs of the Web Dynpro application
provided they are marked as startup parameters. In this case, keep in mind that
the iView/page used as the navigation target must be assigned to the user role.
If it is not, navigation cannot be triggered.

I have an ALV generated dynamically. On the ALV, there is filter and settings link on the extreme right of the alv header.
How is it possible to get them left align after the export button ?
I want to maitain some gap between the export button, filter and settings.

I am working on an ALV table in a standard Web Dynpro ABAP application.
The business requirement is to hide the header for the ALV table.
The header has a dropdown to choose u201CStandard Viewu201D and 2 options: Filter and Settings.
The footer for the ALV table containing the Row and Column numbering also needs to be hidden.
I am looking at the IF_SALV_WD_TABLE_SETTINGS to find the relevant methods to hide the header and footer.
Please let me know if I am on the right track and if there is an alternate way to do this through changing the layout of the ALV table. I tried to hide the header and footer manually via the layout but am unable to do so, as the ALV table is just displayed as ViewContainerUI Element.
Please help me as to how to hide the header and footer as I am new to ALV in WDA.
