I am very new to Mobile Programming
Requirement
As soon as the mobile power is on I have to run a Java Application.
I mean just do certain things on the mobile startup
Can anyone give me the way to do that

this has to be supported by device itself - there's no standard way of doing this. Check with device
manufacturers directly, if they provide such feature.

I don't think I understand the question. Least you can do is to install J2ME Wireless Toolkit and you're set. If you need to do some more sophisticated development, you should check some mobile IDEs (integrated development environments).

Not sure what you are getting at. Are you asking if the SGMP gateway can execute/host J2ME apps? I don't think that applies, since the gateway runs in a Java EE application server that runs on J2SE. The purpose of SGMP is to enable J2ME-based client applications running on mobile devices to synchronize with various backends.

Hi,
if you use standard APIs (from MIDP 1.0, 1.0a or 2.0 specs) and run your application on device supporting this set of APIs you'll have no problem. For creating J2ME appliaction you should get J2ME Wireless Toolkit in the first place. Furthermore some IDE can be used (Sun ONE Studio, netBeans, Eclipse, JBuilder).

SSL Certificates for running J2ME applications.

We have developed a J2ME application for browing/uploading/downloading files from mobile device but we need SSL certificates to make our application work on mobile phones.
If anyone has knowledge of purchasing certificates for different handsets then please let us know as that would help us to launch our application on all handsets supporting JSR.

Firstly, are the certificates purchased from an external Certificate Authority (CA) or internal?
On your Remote Desktop Session Hosts, can you bring up MMC, add the Certificates snap-in (for computer account, and then local computer)
Under Certificates\Personal\Certificates - check that the certificate you are using shows the small key symbol on top of the certificate icon (this indicates the private key). If you open the certificate, and select 'Certification Path' does it show three
levels of certificates, with all three certificates showing as 'This certificate is ok' under status?
If you repeat this process on one of your Windows 7 clients, (or from a server, and select 'Another computer' when adding the certificate snap-in) if you expand 'Trusted Root Certification Authorities\Certificates' and 'Intermediate Certification Authorities\Certficates'
are the certificates on the server matching those in your client?
If the CA is external, and they aren't present, you can manually update the list.

Right click on the authroot.stl and select ‘Install CTL’
Select the default ‘Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate’ and click next, then click finish. This should manually update your trusted certificate

Well, the only way to really know if it will work is to test it on ALL series 40 phones ;)
But, if you make sure that you keep to the java specs of the series 40 phones (I don't know if they all have MIDP 2.0), I think you can be 95% sure that it will run on all phones.

Might be you can call ActiveX or DLL objects of the software installed for modem from LabVIEW, if it is unblocked.

I am lakshman,I found the answer for my question,By using the Location API(jsr179).It was not include in the WTK2.2.for that i have downloaded the WTK2.3 then i have implemented the location api in the application and it was working.
And I have the following warning...

Mavericks Mail Kernel System Has Run Out of Application Memory

I have a new Mavericks late 2013 MBP. When I got the computer, I used Migration Assistant to transfer everything from my late 2008 MacBook to the new MBP. Now when I launch Mail, my memory use skyrockets and within a minute or so, I get a "run out of application memory" error message. Soon after the computer stops working until I reboot. Activity Monitor shows Memory Pressure at its redline max, Virtual Memory at about 70 GB, Swap Used 20 GB, Compressed 10 MB. The processes using all the memory are kernel-task 10 GB and mds_stores 5 GB. However, Spotlight is fully indexed and mds is inactive until I launch Mail.
Interestingly, it happens even if I quit Mail immediately after launching it - the Mail window doesn't even need to open; the memory ust still climbs. But it only happens with Mail; all other applications work fine. Also, it does not happen if I boot in Safe Mode or if I log in using a different user account.
I have spend many hours on the phone with the Apple tech guys, they sent log files to Apple engineering, and none can figure this out. Their solution is to work around by creating a new user and transfer files over - not an elegant solution...
I ran the diagnostic suggested by Link Davis; results copied below. I also ran the Etresoft diagnostic both before and after launching Mail. Results also copied below.
I am guessing that a 3rd party application in my user area causes Spotlight to loose control, when Mail is launched, perhaps trying to index 10,000 emails, but I really have no idea!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Have you looked into Activity Monitor utility to see what system resources exist and how they are being allocated to applications, the OS X, and other background functions?
You could boot in SafeBoot (shift key held through startup) and run Disk Utility> repair disk permissions. That can tell you a few things about your hard disk drive, capacities, and it may not hurt to repair disk permissions. Restart normally when done.
Or try & boot from the Install DVD and use the version of Disk Utility in there to attempt to 'repair disk' while the HDD is unmounted. Then choose Startup manager to boot from the HDD and ignore the DVD on a restart.
Is your computer as listed, a PowerPC (pre-intel architecture)
Apple product, with a G4/G5 CPU from before 2006? If so,
a host could move the discussion from this Intel area.
Without more information, a failure of traction results from speculation.
Is your computer still running OS X 10.5.3, or is that 10.5.8+ now?

Since I installed Mavericks, the system says it run out of applications memory

I only have opened Finder (no any other app) but my Mac says "the system has run out of application memory". I don't know what the problem is.
I have a Late-2011 Macbook Pro with 8 GB of RAM. When I enter to "Activity Monitor" I can see that a process called "mds" use a lot of GB of RAM and 100% of my CPU and also kernel_task uses like 5 to 6 GB of my 8 GB of RAM. I reinstalled the OS and still have the problem.
If someone can help me, I will be very grateful.

I have a brand new MacBook Pro. I downloaded Mavericks, and I'm moving my information from my old MacBook Pro via Carbonite to my 2 day old MacBook Pro.. Carbonite tells me to continue to use my system...When I open Safari after a short period of time I get the Out of application memory dialog box. I also use a Brand New IMac which is not having any problems but am I not using Carbonite until I figure out what the problem is. So I went to the Activity Monitor and I see Safari using 8.5 GB of memory. What do I need to do to fix this problem of Out of application memory. As soon as I "Quit Process" for safari in the Activity Monitor everything drops back to normal...example kenel_task went to 1.1 GB. Note Mozella only uses 126 MB of memory. IS the Issue Safari or something else?

Opening a web page through my J2ME application.

Hi All,
I am creating a j2me application, that has to connect to the server online and open a page on that server, and then upload a file at a particular location in that server.
I am using Nokia 6681. I was exploring it, but since I have very less time, I am posting a query here also.
If this is possible (opening a connection with a server - I have the IP address of the server and also the path to that page), and display that page on my cell phone from within the j2me application.
Is this somehow related to JSR-172 (Which is not supported on Nokia 6681).
If this is not possible this way, Is there any way I can upload that file to the server from within the application.
Urgent help is required.

How to Deploy J2ME applications with data in RMS?

Hello everyone,
I am designing a J2ME application, a simple "Who wants to be a millionaire game". It stores questions and answers from a rms datastore. I want to to how can I deploy this application with questions and answers in the recordstore. Each time I run the emulator, the data stored previously gets deleted. Is it possible to attach the rms recordstore along with the .jar or .jad files? If so how can I do it. Please help.

Thank you Sypress.. When I install it the code works fine. But I wanted to include data with the application. I think I found a way way. I added the data in a text file and while starting the application I inserted data from the file into the recordstore.

I am working on j2me and made a application that is online ticket booking for cinema hall. it is running on j2me wireless toolkit . Now i want to run this application on mobile. and how can be access this application by every the user who have java enabled mobile phone.i want to know that it may be access through internet suppose se have upload this application on our server.

I have been having problems in implementing a simple application that fetches information from a server to a mobile phone, then using OTA midlet capabilities.
Have you got any code that you have tested on the device rather then on the emulator only?
All the samples i have used from books and online sources didnt work with my server.
The midlet simply asks for connection and then it gets stuck without displaying anything.
Please gimme some hints :)
