TO Run JSP in eclipse

Can anyone please help me to run jsp using tomcat in eclipse IDE.
I have installed tomcat 4.0 but i dont have idea to set path in eclipse

First drop Tomcat 4.0 and install at least 5.5 or preferably 6.0. Then you're up to date.
I recommend you to use Eclipse WTP [1][2] to develop JSP/Servlets and run it [3].

Could not run JSP in eclipse

Hi,
I installed the eclipse and it is running fine with the .java files.
I installed the Tomcat4.1 and configured it with eclipse. now iam able to run and stop the Tomcat server from the elcipse.
I created a Tomcat project and trying to run Helloworld Jsp file but when i open a JSP file it is automatically openning Windows Media player.
i will appreciate if any one can help me run and create a new JSP file in eclipse3.0

In Eclipse, go to Window:Preferences
Open the "Workbench" submenu
Select "File Associations"
Find "jsp" in the list, and add/remove handlers for it.

JSP problem when running Tomcat in Eclipse

Hello,
Eclipse newbie here.
I just started using Eclipse and I have installed the Tomcat plugin. When I run Tomcat within Eclipse, http://localhost:8080 works fine, but when I tried to access a JSP that I've created, I'm getting this error:
HTTP Status 404 - /JSPDemo.jsp
type Status report
message /JSPDemo.jsp
description The requested resource (/JSPDemo.jsp) is not available.
Using Eclipse version 3.1.2
Tomcat Plugin = sysdeo 3.1
Tomcat version 5.0.28
JDK + JRE = 1.4.2_08

why not use Web Tools Project of Eclipse, it comes with all plugins necessary for J2EE and Web development

I have installed Eclipse 3.0, Tomcat 5.0 with JDK 1.4.2 . I can view HTML pages but not JSP pages. I am able to run java code and servlets on Eclipse/Tomcat. When I point to a JSP page the page gives the following error

Unable to find a javac compiler;
com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath.
Perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK

Like the message says, you haven't set the JAVA_HOME variable correctly.
Have you set it?
It should point to the ROOT of your java install
eg
JAVA_HOME = c:\j2sdk1.4.2_04
Are you running Tomcat through Eclipse, or on its own?

How to run jsp and servlet using JBOSS server

Dear Friend,
I have JBoss application server and Eclipse id
now i want to run JSP and Servlet but i am not getting the place where to place my servlet class file to run it .
before that i run jsp and servlet using tomcat5.0 but in that i place my servlet class in WEB-INF/classes folder and do corresponding entry in web.xml file and run it through browser.
now i want to use JBOSS how it is possible

Is the servlet class defined in a package.? If servlet class package is servlets., copy the servlet to
WEB-INF/classes/servlets directory.

Running jsp program

Is it neccessary to install "Dream Weaver" to run JSP program while making a java bean program usin jsp and web login 8.

Dreamweaver is just another lousy drag'n'drop HTML page builder. It is not required in order to create/build/run JSP.
Look for Eclipse if you want an integrated development environment for Java/JSP.

Error While running JSP-

while running JSP which is deployed in JAvaWebserver2.0 Trial version, it is giving this error

This is happening while inserting a record to any master-detail jsp. In some Jsps while displaying(viewRecord) itself it is giving this error. After this error comes we are not able to do any insert, update or even navigation is not coming properly. Some vague errors like Error Message:null is coming. Why is it so? anybody got any idea abt this? Sometimes The same Jsp is working fine.

Is your JSP functioning correctly when you run it from within JDeveloper, or are you experiencing the same problems there?
If you are having the same problems from your JSP within JDeveloper, try the same from the Application Module tester.
This will help determine where the source of the error is.

URGENT-CREATE A HTML FILE WITH AN STRING INPUT FROM THE RUNNING JSP

I am designing a web page where the user enters a page after entering his/her login and password.The User should now be provided with a display page containing the servers that he has permissions for access.The servers that he has permissions are maintained in a database(a normal text file in UNIX).
Till now the program has been complete for displaying the servers that are available to him.
I need to create a HTML form containing these servers names in a check box so that when the user clicks thcheck box against the server name it should go to the server and get the password for the required server.
THe intention from me is to create a HTML file that dynamically takes values from the running JSP means the server names as a string value to its input and then i can continue
Please guide me in creating a HTML form based on the string output from the running JSP

the ip is the ip address of the server
Need to input these values to another HTML page that contains the check box list of the servers .

I have here read the servername and server ip stored from a file in UNIX in the running JSP.Now i need to pass these string variables to HTML file and display it in a Check box format.the strings host and ip have to be passed to the input of the HTML file so that they can further be processed once they are clicked using another JSP.

in weblogic 6.1 and 7.0 there is directory called default web apps under bea\user projects\application.we placed all .jsp file under here.
now bea deleted this folder.
now how to set of environment for run .jsp application using weblogic8.1
