To send output as email in PDF format
I am using Function module <b>so_new_document_att_send_api1</b> to send my report output as Email.
Please tell me how to send it in PDF format.
1) FIRST GENERATE SPOOL REQUEST for ur output THEN DOWNLOAD this spool request to a PDF file via REPORT PROGRAM - RSTXPDFT4 .
2) then use this program to send this PDf via mail (also see ur SCOT setttings) -

Error while sending PO output through mail in PDF format - Urgent
Dear friends,
Developed program to send sapscript output through mail in pdf format, the program running properly, even function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 returning sy-subrc 0. But the external mail is not going to user lying in SAP outbox with message <b>"Wait for communications service"</b> . SCOT is properly configured, tested mails sending through SAP office.

A cyclic job runs, which processes the messages seen in the SOST queue.
Are you sure it's not the frequency of the cyclic job, rather than the
number of messages in the queue, that you are observing? In messages
that are queued and before the cyclic job runs, "wait for comm. service"
is the normal status.
If you mean that there are always 4 items queued in SOST regardless of
the cyclic send job, then I have no ideas. I would have thought there
was no way to do that.
when the send job runs it just never
picks them up & sends them, while it picks up many others. The send job
is somehow blind to these; no error message occurs. In this case, I
'delete' them from the queue (in SOST) and then 'undelete' (drop down
menu -> /Go to /Deleted Items) them and then re-queue them. THEN they
actually get picked up & sent when the next cyclic send job executes.

Please suggest me the solution option for the below requirement.
The requirement is to send collective invoice to the customer via email in PDF format in a single email at the end of the day.ie they like to have a tool where they
can enter the output type,date and other relavant info and the program should collect all the invoice and convert it to PDF and send it in single mail to customer.
Please let me know i can use any Standard tool for this purpose.ALso is it possible to write a Zprogram reprocess the output type by using any FM?

I am looking for the following options.
1. Any stanard program which can be used partially for my requirement?
2. If i have to go for a new tool, then i should write a code for reprocess the output types and then convert in to one single PDF and then send it to customer in one single email.
Here i am struck how to write an program to reprocess the ouput types? i hope the next steps can be easily implemented evenhough some watch outs are there like 'how to make a single PDF file' and some technical constraints like max size that can be send.

Captivate is not really designed to do what you want in this instance. It's more targeted at allowing a user to complete an assessment and then track whether or not they passed. So it's only really set up to send information in a format that the LMS will understand and interpret as Pass/Faill and what the score was.
You really need something more flexible than that. So I think you would need to get a programmer involved and have the solution custom made. In my experience, any time you try to diverge Captivate from what it was designed to do, and you need to get other IT professionals involved, you can kiss thousands of dollars goodbye before you have a workable solution. -

In order to send PO, your Basis team must configure the system first so that external email can be send out from SAP. If it is not configured, no settings you do on MM will work.
1. You must maintain email address in vendor master data.
2. The same applies to your user master data. For the output type for default values, a communication strategy needs
to be maintained in the Customizing that supports the e-mail. You can find the definition of the communication strategy in the
Customizing via the following path:
(SPRO -> IMG -> SAP Web Application Server -> Basic Services -> Message Control -> Define Communication Strategy).
As a default, communication strategy CS01 is delivered. This already contains the necessary entry for the external communication. Bear in mind that without a suitable communication strategy it is not possible to communicate with a partner via Medium 5 (external sending).
3. Use the standard SAP environment (program 'SAPFM06P', FORM routine 'ENTRY_NEU' and form 'MEDRUCK') as the processing routines.
4. In the condition records for the output type (for example, Transaction MN04), use medium '5' (External send).
5. You can use Transaction SCOT to trigger the output manually. The prerequisite for a correct sending is that the node is set correctly. This is not described here, but it must have already been carried out.
6. To be able to display, for example, the e-mail in Outlook, enter PDF as the format in the node -

The moment a PO is made the mail shud trigger to the vendor in he shud receive the PO output form in PDF format.
How to configure this. What are the steps.

Follow these steps fro configuring email output -
1. Maintain email address in Vendor Master.
2. Maintain output condition records in MN04 with Medium = 5 and in the communication data enter communication strategy CS01and also enter printer.
3. Check configuration in SPRO MM -> Purchasing -> Messages -> Output Control - > Message Type -> Define Message Type for Outline Agreement. Mainain configuration for External Send. Use standard program 'SAPFM06P', FORM routine 'ENTRY_NEU' and form 'MEDRUCK' ( if not contomized) as the processing routines.
4.You can use Transaction SCOT to trigger the output manually.
5. To be able to display, for example, the e-mail in Outlook, enter PDF as the format in the node. -
Sending PO via email with pdf file extension
Good afternoon everyone. We are successfully (in testing) sending out Purchase Orders via External Send to an Outlook email address. When the user receives the email, it appears that SAPConnect (SCOT) is correctly coverting the file to a pdf (I can open it in Adobe Acrobat), yet the file attachment still shows a ".dat" file extension.
Where in the process do I need to set up SAP not to send the file out with a .dat file extension (in PDF format), but rather with a .pdf file extension (in PDF format).
