To set permisson for folders within a folder in KM Public documents

I have lot of folders created in Public documents section and permission to add more folders are given only to few users.
I want all the users to upload or download documents within these main folders.
ISSUE:
I do want want all the users to create sub folders within the main folders.I want them only to add/download documents so that there will not be any unstructured mess of folders.
I'm unable to set permission as described above.When i give "Read/Write" permission for all users within the main folders then user will be allowed to create sub-folders which i want to avoid.
Is there any method i can solve the above issue.

There is also a work around solution for this problem (which is not a direct way).
For this you need to create TWO iViews to the folder path:
1. Navigation iView: you might've already create this iView. Now make Everyone or your UserGroup as 'Read' only in Details > Setting > Permissions. Remove Read/Write to them.
2. Upload iView: Now create an 'Upload iView' to the same path (same as Navigation View). This way users can only upload content (files) in to the said folders and can't create the Folders.

Based on your answer, and the answer to another question (which I didn't see before I asked mine, even tho I searched), I get the impression that iPad Mail is just a different face on web mail, that the messages are only stored on the server, not downloaded and stored on the iPad 2. How to alphabetically sort albums and folders within a folder

Much to my dismay, I discovered that iPhoto will not alphabetically sort folders or albums that are within a folder. It will only sort folders and albums (in separate groups) that are at the "root" level beneath the ALBUMS label. I used "iPhoto Folder Import 1.0" to import multiple clip art and stock photo files which resulted in many nested folders and albums that did not stay in alphabetical order (because iPhoto often randomize them when you add them to an existing folder).
Here's how to get around the problem.
Albums: 1. Select all the albums in a folder. 2. Drag the albums to the ALBUMS label so they end up on the root level. 3. Right click on any of the selected albums and choose "Sort Albums." 4. Drag the still selected albums back into their original folder. They should retain their alphabetical order.
Folders: 1. Close all the folders that you want to alphabetize. 2. Follow steps 1-4 above with "folders" in place "albums."
I cannot understand why sorting won't work within folders. I also do not understand why we don't have the option to alphabetically interleave folders and albums. The only way to achieve this is to create folders for just one album, which seems silly.

You have to READ THE FILES. Jeff just showed you how to use a FOR loop to go through the files. You still need to open the files, read them and then process the data.
I had assumed from CSmith8's original post that the text file processing vi worked. just drop that vi into the for loop and wire the file name in!

Can't get any sound I deleted the folders within the folder "Music"

I just got this shuffle I have everything but the softwhere. It had a few songs on it too I erased the songs by opening the music folder and dragging three folders within to the trash. Then I loaded the music folder with a bunch of songs. It would not play. I tried putting them back in folders named 01 02 03 04 still nothing. I downloaded the IpodUpdater but I can't use it.
Do I need to rename these folders as they were before? If so what were the names?
Do I need to get the softwhere? As I said I've downloaded the updater which does nothing.
THis thing worked fine untill I did this.

So as I said before I dragged a bunch of songs onto the ipod. So now those songs are useing up 75% of my space I can't access them I can't get back to folder to take them off. Once I get this fixed though I think it's smooth sailing. I know folder it's in but It won't let me get there.
How do I just wipe this thing clean.
I have the newest Itunes and I still can't figure out what the IpodUpdater does. am I still missing a peice of the puzzle.

You can't do it at the moment in the Mail app itself. If you email account is an IMAP one then you can create extra folders by logging into your account on a browser and creating them there - they should then appear in the Mail app on the iPad. If it's a POP type email account then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got.

Hi, I am facing an issue while creating a new web part page (Safeunit.aspx) within a folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) located under a Document Library (Product Information Documents).
The path I am explaining:
Going to the Document Library (Product Information Documents) --> now inside that, clicking on a folder (Wet Seal Support
Systems) --> now inside the folder clicking on another sub-folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) --> Here I want the web page Safeunit.aspx
Issue is that when I reach to the required destination, and want to create the web page by clicking on 'Site Action' --> 'Create' --> 'Web Part Page', now while selecting the Document Library name from the drop-down list, I do use 'Product
Information Documents' since the folder is inside this library only; but that create the page directly under the 'Product Information Documents' library, not under the sub-folder (Safematic Seal
Support Systems).
FYI, it is SP2007 version.

I see that you have the namespaces reference in your code.
I think you have changed the NameSpace name of your code to CreateSPFolder, change the reference in all your manifest, and other files to point to the current namespace name. It should help.

I found them at this address,

I have no idea how they got there?????
I found them by doing a seach (programs and file in windows 7) for "Session Templates"
I then copied them to to correct location at,
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\Audition\5.0\Session Templates
Now I have the session templates working.

How do you create folders within a folder on Pages?

I have the lates version of Pages.
I have a number of documents in folders ie for each month. I would like to create another folder ie for each year and place all the folders into it. So basically, can I or how do I create a folder to place folders to organize my Pages.

Folder organisation is done in Finder, not from within Pages, although you can create a new folder from within the Save dialog box in most programs.

Error when trying to search for folders within an Exchange server

I am working on an existing application that searches folder within an exchange server in asp.net C#
The code is very basic is like this

CS5 Error: Updating the cache for items within the folder recursively

I have another odd issue and have no clue to what would resolve this.
I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Bridge CS5
I've been getting the same message when creating a new folder. However when I create a new folder in my Finder window, it creates the folder immediately and reflects as such in bridge.
I can cope with creating folders this way. But it becomes a pest when I forget to do it.
One thing is, the only time this happens is when using our server. But this has not always been the case.

I suspect it has to do with server issue. Some have found they had a 10 sec or more delay and that if the server is pointed to Favorites Bridge wants to cache all the files on the server. May be something like that.

GetFirstFile and GetNextFile while looking for folders

In LabWindows 7.0 "C" I am using a wild card construct to search for folders in a folder called "PAT_DISKS" as shown below:

is=GetNextFile (name);
there are at least three folders matching the criteria in "PAT_DISKS" but "GetNextFile" does not find them.
Is this a bug in LabWindows CVI 7.0 ?

Well, I do not have CVI 7.0, but I have 6.0.
I created the exact directory structure in my PC, did the same function call and it was successful for both GetFirstFile and GetNextFile.
Attached are the screenshots.
Did you try bu setting the normal attribute to 1?

Where did you read that?

The sizing give there is for the initial system setup. It does not contain customer specific requirements.
The usual process is:
- you contact your hardware vendor
- you use http://service.sap.com/quicksizer together with him and fill in the data
- the hardware vendor will offer you the storage and the machines for the setup
- the vendor configures with you the storage and the necessary filesystem layout based on that sizing
Each customers setup is different and requires the experience and knowledge from the respective hardware vendor how to set up the system so it performs well.
You can follow the suggestions given here, this will be enough for the initial setup but the system will grow. This is not taken into account in the installation guide because it's customer specific.

Links - How to reorder links within a folder. Also, how to make folders open in a tree view?

I'm working on a portal in Sharepoint 2007. It appears that I can only have one set of "Links" on a page, so I am grouping my related links into folders. I'm having two issues with this...
#1. I need to change the order of the links within a folder. When I try to Change Order under the Actions menu, I only get the main list of links, not those within the folder. How can I reorder links within a folder?
#2. When I click a Links folder, all links go away, except for the links within that folder. Is there any way to make the Links list work in a Tree view?
Sorry for the newbie questions, but I've not worked much in Sharepoint and I had this project dropped on me. :(

FM9 – Folders within books – associating a template with a folder

I'm trying to test some of the new features in FrameMaker 9, and I came across the following in the FM9 User Guide:
Folders You can use folders in a book to organize files and set numbering properties on a folder. You can include
multiple subfolders within a folder and associate templates with a folder. A folder, depending on where it appears in
the book hierarchy, works like a chapter, section, or subsection with subordinate components.
I'm intrigued about the idea of associating a template with a folder and I am trying to find out what the feature is for and how to use it. I've searched the rather woeful User Guide and found no other mention of this feature, except how to set the Template Path to a URL.
Can anybody enlighten me?

I believe that it was designed for use with XML files, but I haven't explored this avenue either.

Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.

Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad.
