To write into a mime file.

How do i specify the path for the mime object so that i can write data into it.

This is how it stands. I have a file playlist.txt in mime folder. I need to write values into it.This was the piece of code i had written.
DATA: file_name(200) TYPE c VALUE '/sap/bc/bsp/sap/y_test_bsp/playlist.txt'.
    struc-f1 = 'X'.
    struc-f2 = 'Y'.
    OPEN DATASET file_name IN TEXT MODE FOR APPENDING ENCODING   DEFAULT.
    TRANSFER struc TO file_name.
    CLOSE DATASET file_name.
It gives the following error messge"An exception with the type CX_SY_FILE_OPEN_MODE occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause"
Exception Class CX_SY_FILE_OPEN_MODE

  • How to read from and write into the same file from multiple threads?

    I need to read from and write into a same file multiple threads.
    How can we do that without any data contamination.
    Can u please provide coding for this type of task.
    Thanks in advance.

    Assuming you are using RandomAccessFile, you can use the locking functionality in the Java NIO library to lock sections of a file that you are reading/writing from each thread (or process).
    If you can't use NIO, and all your threads are in the same application, you can create your own in-process locking mechanism that each thread uses prior to accessing the file. That would take some development, and the OS already has the capability, so using NIO is the best way to go if you can use JDK 1.4 or higher.

  • How to read the data file and write into the same file without a temp table

    Hi,
    I have a requirement as below:
    We are running lockbox process for several business, but for a few businesses we have requirement where in we receive a flat file in different format other than how the transmission format is defined.
    This is a 10.7 to 11.10 migration. In 10.7 the users are using a custom table into which they are first loading the raw data and writing a pl/sql validation on that and loading it into a new flat file and then running the lockbox process.
    But in 11.10 we want to restrict using temp table how can we achieve this.
    Can we read the file first and then do validations accordingly and then write to the same file and process the lockbox.
    Any inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Lakshmi Kalyan Vara Prasad.

    Hello Gurus,
    Let me tell you about my requirement clearly with an example.
    Problem:
    i am receiving a dat file from bank in below format
    105A371273020563007 07030415509174REF3178503 001367423860020015E129045
    in this detail 1 record starting from 38th character to next 15 characters is merchant reference number
    REF3178503 --- REF denotes it as Sales Order
    ACC denotes it as Customer No
    INV denotes it as Transaction Number
    based on this 15 characters......my validation comes.
    If i see REF i need to pick that complete record and then fill that record with the SO details as per my system and then submit the file for lockbox processing.
    In 10.7 they created a temporary table into which they are loading the data using a control file....once the data is loaded into the temporary table then they are doing a validation and updating the record exactly as required and then creating one another file and then submitting the file for lockbox processing.
    Where as in 11.10 they want to bypass these temporary tables and writing it into a different file.
    Can this be handled by writing a pl/sql procedure ??
    My findings:
    May be i am wrong.......but i think .......if we first get the data into ar_payments_interface_all table and then do the validations and then complete the lockbox process may help.
    Any suggestions from Oracle GURUS is highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Lakshmi Kalyan Vara Prasad.

    Dear Sanket,
    I think you are need use TO_CHAR() function

      to_char(test_write_rec.HIREDATE,'DD.MM.YYYY')
      to_char(test_write_rec.SAL)

    What kind of file do you need to create and why. You won't be able to store the file in the PAR file, as once the PAR file is uploaded it no longer exists. If I knew what you wanted to do then perhaps I can advise you further

  • How to write a data type into an excel file?

    Hi everyone,
    What I am trying to do is to get some data from MS SQL then write into an excel file.
    stmtExcel.executeUpdate("Insert into [Output$] (CustomerID, ProductID, [Date], OrderQty) Values(" + rsSQL.getInt("CustomerID") + ", " + rsSQL.getInt("ProductID") + ", '" + (rsSQL.getString("Date")).substring(0,10) + "', " + rsSQL.getInt("OrderQty") + ")");
    There is no problem to write into an excel file, however, after all data is imported, excel sheet treats the the integers or dates as Text format. The funny part is, after I double click one of the cells with an integer value, that cell's format will be changed to integer, same thing happens with the date type.
    I am wondering if there is any way I can write an integer or whatever type into an excel file, which excel can recognize their own types instead of Text format. Thank you so much in advance.
    Sincerely,

    Yes, use an API that supports such things, like Andy

  • How to write records from a resultset into a txt file ???

    Hi, I am a newbie in java servlet technology. Currently, I am having a problem regarding how to write all my records from within a resultset into a text file.
    First, I put all my records into a string variable and then append the string into a stringbuffer. After that, I create a bufferoutputstream and used the write method to write into a text file. Below are the code I used in my program.
    Connection connection = null;
    Statement statement = null;
    ResultSet resultset = null;
    // Connect to database
    connection = getConnection();
    StringBuffer str_buf = new StringBuffer();
    statement = connection.createStatement();
    resultset = statement.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM STUDENT");
    String data_row = "";
    str_buf.append("STUDENT_ID,NAME,PHONE,ADDRESS,RESULT");
    while (resultset.next()) {
       data_row = "\n";
       data_row += resultset.getLong("STUDENT_ID");
       data_row += ",\"" + resultset.getString("NAME").trim() + "\"";
       data_row += ",\"" + resultset.getString("PHONE").trim() + "\"";
       data_row += ",\"" + resultset.getString("ADDRESS").trim() + "\"";
       data_row += ",\"" + resultset.getString("RESULT").trim() + "\"";
       str_buf.append(data_row);
    BufferedOutputStream buf_out = null;
    // Create a folder and write all records into info.txt
    String fileName = "student/info.txt";
    buf_out = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(fileName));
    int str_len     = str_buf.length();
    for (int i = 0; i < str_len; i++) {
       buf_out.write(str_buf.charAt(i));
    }So. is this a proper way to write information into a text file ?
    The total records are around 150 000. Now, I get an exception which is "XServletError : System.lang.outofmemory". It happen if the total records are more than 60 000, within a while loop when I try to append a string into a stringbuffer.
    How should I deal with this kind of situation?
    Thanks in advanced and any advice is appreciated. Example is even better to improve understanding.
    Thanks

    Connection connection = null;
    Statement statement = null;
    ResultSet resultset = null;
    // Connect to database
    connection = getConnection();
    StringBuffer str_buf = new StringBuffer();
    String fileName = "student/info.txt";
    FileWriter fw = new FileWriter(fileName);
    statement = connection.createStatement();
    resultset = statement.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM
    STUDENT");
    String data_row = "";
    fw.write("STUDENT_ID,NAME,PHONE,ADDRESS,RESULT");
    while (resultset.next()) {
    data_row = "\n";
    data_row += resultset.getLong("STUDENT_ID");
    data_row += ",\"" + resultset.getString("NAME").trim()

    data_row += ",\"" +
    resultset.getString("PHONE").trim() + "\"";
    data_row += ",\"" +
    resultset.getString("ADDRESS").trim() + "\"";
    data_row += ",\"" +
    resultset.getString("RESULT").trim() + "\"";
    fw.write(data_row);
    fw.close();

  • How to read and write a string into a txt.file

    Hi, I am now using BEA Workshop for Weblogic Platform version10. I am using J2EE is my programming language. The problem I encounter is as the above title; how to read and write a string into a txt.file with a specific root directory? Do you have any sample codes to reference?
    I hope someone can answer my question as soon as possible
    Thank you very much.

    Accessing the file system directly from a web app is a bad idea for several reasons. See http://weblogs.java.net/blog/simongbrown/archive/2003/10/file_access_in.html for a great discussion of the topic.
    On Weblogic there seems to be two ways to access files. First, use a File T3 connector from the console. Second, use java.net.URL with the file: protocol. The T3File object has been deprecated and suggests:
    Deprecated in WebLogic Server 6.1. Use java.net.URL.openConnection() instead.

  • Write arrays into a text file in different columns at different times

    Hi,
              I have a problem write data into a text file. I want to write 4 1D arrays into a text file. The problem is that I need to write it at different time and in different column (in other word, not only append the arrays).
    Do you have an idea to solve my problem?
    Thank you

    A file is long a linear string of data (text). In order ro insert columns, you need to rewrite the entire file, because colums are interlaced over the entire lenght of the file.
    So:
    read file into 2D array
    insert columns using array operations
    write resulting 2D array to file again.
    (Only if your colums are guaranteed to be fixed width AND you know the final number of colums, you could write the missing columns as spaces and then overwrite later. Still, it will be painful and inefficient, because column data are not adjacent in the file.)
