Toggle Buttons for multiple images

I just watched a video from lilybiri about standard and simple actions and then followed into her blog for the text caption toggle buttons.
Now reading through that, there was if statements suggesting you can toggle between the values of 1 and 0 to make visible/invisible. Can this be done with more than 2 images? I am more interested in having a toggle feature where I can have 3 or 4 images and toggle the images to see changes in detail within those images. It seems like it has to be possible, but I'm not getting it.
Also, is there a way that if you have a toggle button, or two perhaps, that you can have the button be displayed as if it was pushed? I know how to make buttons, I'm just wondering if there is a feature to display the button as the _down version until I re-select it, or toggle it off as it were.
Thank you!

You will need a conditional action, perhaps use a variable for each button that will be set to 1 if the button is pushed and to 0 if it is free.
Didn't check it out but action will be something like this:
IF v_bt1 is equal to 0
    Assign v_bt1 with 1
Show im_down1        which is the image of the down-state
Show Image1             which is the image you want to show
    Hide Image2
    Hide Image3
ELSE
   Assign v_bt1 with 0
   Hide im_down1
   Hide Image1
You'll have to test, it is too late over here for me to do some testing. I added the hiding of the two other images, because if the user doesn't toggle the buttons for those images to hide them, I think you want to hide them automatically. Perhaps better also hide their correspondent down-states? Be sure to have the image of the down-state on top of the button in the timeline panel.
And if you ever want to return to the slide, have an on Enter Slide action that hides all the down and real images.

Is this possible to adjust the white balance for multiple images at the same time?
Or adjust the exposure for that matter?

Of course, this is similar to the question you asked in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3964192#3964192
except use White Balance instead of Exposure. For others who might be wondering the same thing:
    1) Set the White Balance for one image.
    2) Select all of the images you want to copy the White Balance to.
    3) Type "O" to initiate the Lift & Stamp HUD
    4) Click on the image with the White Balance you want to copy with the with the L&S up arrow.
    5) In the L&S HUD uncheck all the checkboxes except Adjustments.
    6) Click on the disclosure triangle to the left of Adjustments. If there are other adjustment settings besides White Balance listed, select them and delete them with the delete key.
    7) Once all you have is Adjustments White Balance in the L&S HUD, then click the "Stamp Selected Images" button in the L&S HUD.

  • Edit capture time doesn't work for multiple images

Hi all, hope you can help me.
I'm trying to edit capture time for multiple images. I select the images using the grid view, and go to Metadata>Edit Capture Time>Adjust to Specified Date and Time, enter the time, and select "change all." However, it seems that some, or perhaps most of the images don't actually have a new Date Created when this process is done.
I thought perhaps I needed to select 'write metadata to files', but the Date Created seems to revert back prior to writing to the file, or indeed, it doesn't actually change in the first place.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    J

  • Metatags for multiple images?

I thought this was a no-brainer, but... apparently not:
I needed to add a keyword to several pictures, so I selected them all (from a very large set), clicked the Metadata pane, and entered my keyword, and hit return.
    But it didn't stick.
So I tried to add the keyword to ONE image, and realized that "return" didn't "enter" the keyword, only put an actually paragraph return in the keyword field. Weird, but okay.
I then tried entering it for one image, and hitting "tab". Which made the keyword "stick".
So, I went and selected ALL my images again (very arduous and time consuming), and then entered my keyword, and hit "tab".
But it only assigned that keyword to the FIRST image of all the images I had selected.
I ended up having to do "lift/stamp" and choose only "keyword" from the menu. But, am I crazy, or should the way I initially tried to do this work? I mean, it's pretty common sense, right? Select multiple images, enter keyword, and done?
    Hmmmm.
Is there a better way to do this?

    Hi Jimbo
The User Manual (available directly within Aperture Help, or online) has at least two mechanisms which will address your question: the +Control Bar+ and +Batch Changes+.
The Aperture Interface > Control Bar
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/#chapter=2%26section=7
Working with Metadata > Batch Changing Metadata
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/#chapter=11%26section=7
I've been using both of these techniques, so I know they definitely work for multiple images.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can I search for multiple images simultaneously in Aperture?

Can I search for multiple images simultaneously in Aperture?  For example, search for 'Image2.jpg, Image3.jpg, Image5.jpg' by image name, out of different folders?

dusan -- your best procedure is likely to be to type the first file name (without extension) in the search field of the Photos View, and then mark that file either with a Flag or a color label.  (You might clear all Flags prior.)  If you have a lot of images or a slow computer (or both ) you may have to wait a few seconds.  Aperture will show "Loading ... " on the left side of the tool strip while it churns through your images.
Then hit backspace twice, and type "60".  Mark the file found.
    Repeat with variations.
Then go to Flagged view, or filter the whole Photos view for the color-label you used.

Yes it does, the iPhone 4 had this feature but when the iPhone 4S was originally launched it did not. After upgrading to iOS 6 you can now turn off 3G and therefore just use 2G. This saves battery life and can also help with ensuring a more reliable connection in areas with poor 3G coverage (i.e. the whole of the UK ).
You can access this option by going to Settings - General - Mobile Data and then turning Enable 3G to off. Depsite the accompanying text implying it relates to only data this does complete turn off 3G mode since both voice and data use the same transmitter.

  • Copy/Paste Develop Settings for multiple images

I'm trying to update some settings on multiple images. In Develop mode, I start by making the corrections to a single image, and then click the "Copy ..." button. I then select multiple images in the Filmstrip and click "Paste". This works just fine, but only on the 1st image/highlighted image, and not the whole selection. Am I doing something wrong here? Shouldn't I be able to update multiple images, at once, like a batch process?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lee Jay
How do you know this is on purpose? It seems like a bug to me.
    See this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2951457
If your reasoning was correct, how come the settings do paste to the entire target selection and not just the active image when the toggle in the lower right hand side of the screen is switched to Auto Sync?
Would love to hear more of your insight, because this is really confusing me.

  • File associations in Bridge CS4 for multiple images

After a "cache purge" my file associations got altered.  I can go into Edit>preferences> file associations and change that to photoshop; but if I click MULTIPLE images in Bridge and right click "open with" I only get Illustrator as an option.  How can I change this to photoshop as a default when trying to open MULTIPLE images?

Ronald Keller - thank you.  I am practically in tears laughing about how something so completely simple has had me fretting for days.  Could it be my over 60 mind has completely failed me now, or is it I am just a bit rusty on using my software?  Anyway, thank you for taking the time to offer up this response!

  • Is there a way to use a single bitmapdata for multiple images with GPU mode?

With GPU mode is there a way to bring in a single 1024 X 1024 png containing all my sprites and then slice it up into multiple display objects all refering to the original BitmapData?
I have an app that runs in GPU mode - but I want to optimize the image management.
I am making three sets of images in the orders of 2048, 1024 and 512 px.
The app is a book app and each page has around 4 to 5 bitmaps. I would like to bring in one single image and slice it up - but just refer to the original bitMapData in the memory.
Is there a way to do this - e.g. using a masking technique?
I think it is possible using textures in direct mode - but that is not an ideal solution for me - as the app is already in the appstore - and I would have to entirely refactor it for stage3D. Also I use very large bitmaps which have some masking animations applied to them dynamically: http://youtu.be/Nm0T1jLCTz8?t=42s
Currently, I use jpgs and a jpeg mask file for each image which I composite to get the alpha - then I scale them.
PNGs may be better for GPU - (no compositing) but they make for a huge app file.
Now I am converting it to use diffent sized assets depending on the device, then scaling them if need, and then compositing them for apha.  What I was hoping was to find a technique that could reduce the number of bitmapdata objects used and reduce the operations in general.
Any thoughts on optimizing would be appreciated.  I can add my code here if it helps.

  • How do use the same crop for multiple images.

I have a number of images that I want to use the same crop on. Instead of go through the whole slow process for each image is there a way to use the same crop for all of the images?
And in iPhoto there was a way to copy the adjustment settings to multiple images, I can't see how to do that in aperture.

    Use the "Lift&Stamp" tool:
    Crop one image.
Lift the crop using the "Lift" tool.
    Select the other images.
Stamp the crop adjustment to all of them.
But caution: By default "Lift" will copy all Metadata tags and all adjustments, but the gps data. If you only want to transfer the cropping rectangle, deselect all lifted items but the crop adjustment before stamping.

  • Creating a simple Template for multiple images

    Hello,
I work for an online company, and we deal with displaying multiple images on our site.  I've been just cropping sets and just droping them in a file and organizing them that way, but I was wondering if there is a faster way of doing this in Photoshop with Templates maybe? but it needs to be easier and faster than the process I'm using now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I read what you have written "we deal with displaying multiple images on our site.  I've been just cropping sets and just droping them in a file and organizing them that way, but I was wondering if there is a faster way of doing this in Photoshop with Templates maybe?" I don't comprehend what your doing now.   Photoshop is not a file editor however it can create files that have more then one image. Perhaps you could describe what you want to do.  What is a set, what is in the set, how many images in a set is that number always the same how do you want to crop do you have some layout in mind some size requirement?

  • Adding/Deleting keywords for multiple images

Well, I'm finally paying the price for bad keyword management and I'm trying to clean up my nightmare of a system now but running into trouble.
    I'm using Lightroom 3.2.
My workflow follows one of two types:
    1) I'm shooting something specific (soccer games) and I import the shots and immediately assign the appropriate keywords (soccer, which kid it is, which tournament it is)
    2) I've taken shots of multiple events/subjects and I haven't had time to download and organize.  I will then import with a 'file later' tag so I can easily search and keyword them later and then re-use the card.
Well 'file later' is now about 3000 images!  Doh!
I'm going through and properly assigning them but I'm having a lot of trouble with what I *think* should work in Lightroom.
    There are several things here:
First, if I choose the 'File Later' keyword, it will pull up the metadata filters options on the top of the grid view.  No matter what I do, I can't make it go away.  If I do get it to go away, I wind up viewing ALL my pictures which is not what I want.
Second, if I choose multiple pictures by ctrl-clicking or shift-clicking, It appears I can assign a keyword to multiple shots.  I cannot REMOVE a keyword from multiple shots. Lightroom seems to only want to remove the keyword from one picture at a time even if they are all selected.
Third, the painter tool does not work...at all.  Enabling it and then selecting and applying or removing does nothing.
So, what am I looking for here?
Organizing for these should be pretty easy since most are in blocks and I can apply the same keywords quickly.  However, removing the keywords one at a time is a huge pain.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

First, if I choose the 'File Later' keyword, it will pull up the metadata filters options on the top of the grid view.  No matter what I do, I can't make it go away.  If I do get it to go away, I wind up viewing ALL my pictures which is not what I want.
This is the filter dialog - of course if you close it you turn back to All Photographs. Try creating a Smart Collection based on your File Later keyword - this collection will automatically populate all your images that have that particular keyword. Once you have keyworded the pictures from e.g. one particular shot, just remove the File Later-KW and those images will disappear from the collection.
I'm not sure why you can't remove keywords from multiple images - it just works fine here by selecting multiple images and delete the keyword.
Most of the times I use the Keyword List to assign/delete keywords because in my opinion it is the easiest way - I just browse thru my list or filter for a particular kw and tick the box on the left.
Creating a hierarchical keyword list can further simplify your work. For example the location: organize the final keyword xyz-Soccer Stadium into other keywords like Town>County>State>Country>Continent>Places, then you only have to tick the last keyword xyz-Soccer Stadium and with that assign all of those keywords in the hierarchy (I know thats kind of a complicated explanation...but I suggest you play around a bit and then you will get the full picture ).

  • Show file size in Cell Extras? (Either Compact or Expanded, or anywhere in Grid for multiple images simultaneously)

I've searched and seen several suggestions saying to change Metadata to Exif & IPTC to see the file size, but that's for only one image at a time. Under Cell Extras (both Compact and Expanded) I see options for Megapixeps, Cropped Dimensions, File Name, Extention, and a bunch of other options, but no file size. I suspect this is because file size isn't a metadata field and simply a file attribute (that may be incorrect, but regardless...) is there really no way to have file size visible in the thumbnail cells in Grid view in the Library? I'm trying to reduce redundancy and viewing file size of multiple images at a glance based on my Library Filter criteria would be a huge help. Thanks to anyone who can help sort me out!

Sure. I have a catalog with 22,000 images indiscriminately imported from hundreds of folders and multiple drives from this year alone (partially lost a RAID array to a corrupt index and recovered a dump of the files so I'm terribly disorganized juggling emergency redundancy backups wherever I had 50 gigs here, 100 gigs there, and working to clean up and organize my photos one year at a time ), including raw, jpg, websized jpg, png, tiff and psd (flattened and with layers/adjustments) and am now trying to identify my keepers and delete unnecessary files. I have 22 terabytes of personal files and photography spread chaotically and while I now have proper discipline when saving variants, I didn't always and want to remove unneeded, rejected, and duplicate images. I don't expect to be caught up for months or longer depending on my free time and sanity. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as keep the raw delete the rest. Sometimes I have multiple PSD documents with different version names and edits, sometimes with multiple layers, and I have to use a variety of information to identify which one is indeed the correct one to keep...or open them all/both.
Often, file size can be an indicator for me and aids in making the decision more quickly. For instance between 2 psd files with the same Megapixles I'm often able to identify the flattened version vs the layers intact version by file size if it wasn't properly noted in the filename, which unfortunately due to a combination of bad or evolving practices and being tired or rushed happens more often than I'd like to admit. One I just came across that brought me here searching was 3 similarly named and appearing PSD files of a panorama, all with the same MP/dimensions. One was flattened, one was the original stitch, and one was flattened with a few masks, adjustments, and an extra layer, and being the one I'd want to keep. Filesize helped me quickly identify which was which. Also sometimes dimensions are misleading, like when a panorama is first created and uncropped, its dimensions are larger, but a tighter cropped image with multiple layers and a larger file size indicates to me that it is newer and more finished, even though smaller dimensions typically indicates a crop and may not be a 'master' copy. Additionally, 2 images with different names but the exact same file size are very likely duplicates (at least in my workflow) but 2 similarly looking images with the same dimensions could be retouched/not, sharpened/not, have noise reduction/not, and I'd have to view them in detail to determine if they were in fact identical. For my purposes (since these are my personal fine art images & I have the raw files incase I occasionally mess up) I'm often willing to trade an educated guess for my time. Seeing identical file sizes on 2 apparently similar images is good enough for me to delete one.
I can select them individually and check...it's not a horrific problem. But it would save me time so I was hoping I had simply missed how to view that. My reasoning is 'why not' have the option available with all the others? Me personally, I don't care about megapixels when I already have the dimensions, that's just redundant and honestly much less helpful than LxW. File size would be an additional tool I would use, though. There are other examples but the main thing is that I do spend time checking filesize, and specifically when comparing multiple images, so having it displayed in the cell would be a time saver for me.

  • Preloader for multiple images

I want to create a preloader which loads multiple images at a

    Thanks for the help
I can load the images in sequence one after another. But
there are few points to be considered here.
    1. I want to display all images at once, when they all are
    loaded.
    2. I want to display only one preloader for all images while
    they are loading.
    3. I can't hardcode the size of images because images will
keep changing for the movie. So i can't use a particular size. (and
hardcoding the values for dynamic data is not a good coding
    practice i guess.
