Token from report showing up in Select List

I'm working on an app that has a drill down report. One of the columns in the report is a link (Target Type = URL) to a form that allows the user to the row that he/she clicked on in the report.
The values of parms passed to the page "511" are passed via the report tokens.
Two of the tokens for some reason aren't resolved when they get to the page (511).
The tokens #MEDIA_UID# and #LOCATION_UID# appear in the respective select lists (Media has a select list and location has a select list).
For example. When the use clicks on the link the resulting page's Media select
list will look something like this:
#MEDIA_UID#
DOC
CD
DVD
The #MEDIA_UID# Token will be included in the list of values instead of
the actual value from the row in the report.
The Target Type for the link is URL.
The URL is set to:
f?p=&APP_ID.:511:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:511:P511_MEDIA_UID,P511_LOCATION_UID,P511_REMARKS,P511_DIST,P511_DOC_MASTER_UID,P511_NUM_TO_COPY:#MEDIA_UID#,#LOCATION_UID#,\#REMARKS#\,\#DIST#\,&P510_DOC_MASTER_UID.,#COPY_NBR#
Does the URL look OK?
Has anyone noticed this type of behavior?
Thanks.
David

Bingo. You're right. I just found that out a few minutes ago. I inherited this piece of the app from someone else. I was comparing the URLs (dev to prod). Didn't think to look at the actual column alias until after I had posted this. Someone changed
the column alias in prod but didn't make that change in the Link's target URL.
If you set the target to a page in the application and then change a column alias in the query will the link pick that change up automatically? Or do you still have to make sure and change it in the link?
Thanks.
Sorry for the wild goose chase.

  • Report displayed based on Select List condition

    Hello,
    Any help would be appreciated.
    I have a report and a select list, P55_MISSING. The select list contains the column names in the table that the report displays.
    If I select one of the column names, I would like to display all records where that column name is null.
    The sql I have at the moment is:
    select
    "ID",
    "APPLICATION",
    "SHORT_DESCRIPTION",
    "DESCRIPTION",
    "OPC_NET_NAMES",
    "PROCESSING_SCHEDULE",
    "PROCESSING_REGULARITY",
    "PLATFORMS_INVOLVED",
    "UNIX_DIRECTORIES",
    "SOURCE_FILES",
    from "APP_METADATA"
    where :P55_MISSING IS NULL
    If I select 'source files' for example, I would expect to see 3 out of 4 records stored in the table. However, I receive the message 'no data found'.
    Any help would be great. Thank you.

    Hi
    In order to doe this you will have to use dynamic sql (so you have to change your report type to 'SQL Query (PL/SQL Function Body Returning SQL Query)').
    It would then look something like this...
    DECLARE
    l_sql VARCHAR2(32767);
    BEGIN
    l_sql := 'SELECT id,
                     application,
                     short_description,
                     description,
                     opc_net_names,
                     processing_schedule,
                     processing_regularity,
                     platforms_involved,
                     unix_directories,
                     source_file
              FROM   app_metadata
              WHERE ';
    l_sql := l_sql||:P55_MISSING||' IS NULL';
    RETURN l_sql;
    END;Sorry, I can't test this as I don't have your tables.
    Cheers

  • 1 Conditional report based on 3 select lists/ 3 different select statements

    I have made 1 report based on the three select lists. The report is displayed in the center of the page. The user needs to fill them in order, the select lists are:
    Selectlist:
    1. P1_LOVPG - Null is allowed, but is only appearing at top with a label of Productgroup
    2. P1_LOVSG - Null is allowed, but is only appearing at top with a label of Subgroup
    3. P1_LOVMA - Null is allowed, but is only appearing at top with a label of Manufacturer
    LOVPG contains a distinct collect of the ProductGroups
    QUERY LOV = select distinct pg from X
    LOVSG contains a distinct collect of the SubGroups inside the selected PG.list
    QUERY LOV = select distinct sg from X where pg = :P1_LOVPG
    LOVMA contains a distinct collect of the Manufacturers inside the selected SG.lst
    QUERY LOV = select distinct ma from X where sg = :P_LOVSG
    Based on the the selected items the user would see the following:
    Table X
    PG SG MA ART
    A-----X----M---1
    A-----X----N---2
    A-----Y----M---3
    A-----X----M---4
    B-----X----M---5
    B-----Y----N---6
    B-----Z----O---7
    Seletion 1 PG = A -> selects PG A in select list result, User sees:
    Report A
    PG SG MA ART
    A-----X----M---1
    A-----X----N---2
    A-----Y----M---3
    A-----X----M---4
    Query would be: select * from X where PG = :P1_LOVPG
    Selection 2, user still sees the above, can only select from the SG select list NULL, X, Y. User needs to choose between X or Y value. He picks X, he sees:
    Report B
    PG SG MA ART
    A-----X----M---1
    A-----X----N---2
    A-----X----M---4
    Query would be: select * from X where PG = :P1_LOVPG and SG = :P_LOVSG
    Selection 3, user still sees selection 2 on his screen, can only select from the MA list bewteen NULL, M or N, user needs to choose between M or N. He picks M, he sees:
    Report C
    PG SG MA ART
    A-----X----M---1
    A-----X----M---4
    Query would be: select * from X where PG = :P1_LOVPG and SG = :P_LOVSG
    As you can see the query changes as the user goes deeper into the structure. It is a simple if then else system where the quey changes. How do I set this up in htmldb?
    (I've read something about Oracle's SQL and it's decode function, but can they be used with changing select statements?)

    are you sure your data meets the JOIN conditions?
    You can make a quick check.. only example...
    select single * from KONP into ls_konp
    where knumh = P_knumh.
    if sy-subrc eq 0.
    select * from from A905 into table lt_a905 where
         kappl in so_kappl
         and kschl in so_kschl
         and VKORG in so_vkorg
         and vtweg in so_vtweg
         and kondm in so_kondm
         and wkreg in so_wkreg
         and knumh = ls_konp-knumh.
    if sy-subrc eq 0.
    select * from A919 into table lt_a919
    for all entries in lt_a905
    where kappl = lt_a905-kappl
    and kschl = lt_905-kschl
    and knumh = lt_905-knumh.
    endif.
    endif.

  • How Do I Filter a Report Using a Multi Select List Box and Specifying Date Between Begin Date and End Date

    Hope someone can help.  I have tried to find the best way to do this and can't seem to make sense of anything.  I'm using an Access 2013 Database and I have a report that is based on a query.  I've created a Report Criteria Form.  I
    need the user to be able to select multiple items in a list box and also to enter a Begin Date and End Date.  I then need my report to return only the records that meet all selected criteria.  It works fine with a ComboBox and 1 selection but can't
    get it to work with a List Box so they can select multiple items.  Any help is greatly appreciated while I still have hair left.

    The query should return all records.
    Let's say you have the following controls on your report criteria form:
    txtStart: text box, formatted as a date.
    txtEnd: text box, formatted as a date.
    lbxMulti: multi-select list box.
    cmdOpenReport: command button used to open the report.
    The text boxes are used to filter the date/time field DateField, and the list box to filter the number field SomeField.
    The report to be opened is rptReport.
    The On Click event procedure for the command button could look like this:
    Private Sub cmdOpenReport_Click()
    Dim strWhere As String
    Dim strIn As String
    Dim varItm As Variant
    On Error GoTo ErrHandler
    If Not IsNull(Me.txtStart) Then
    strWhere = strWhere & " AND [DateField]>=#" & Format(Me.txtStart, "yyyy-mm-dd") & "#"
    End If
    If Not IsNull(Me.txtEnd) Then
    strWhere = strWhere & " AND [DateField]<=#" & Format(Me.txtEnd, "yyyy-mm-dd") & "#"
    End If
    For Each varItm In Me.lbxMulti.ItemsSelected
    strIn = strIn & "," & Me.lbxMulti.ItemData(varItm)
    Next varItm
    If strIn <> "" Then
    ' Remove initial comma
    strIn = Mid(strIn, 2)
    strWhere = strWhere & " AND [SomeField] In (" & strWhere & ")"
    End If
    If strWhere <> "" Then
    ' Remove initial " AND "
    strWhere = Mid(strWhere, 6)
    End If
    DoCmd.OpenReport ReportName:="rptMyReport", View:=acViewPreview, WhereCondition:=strWhere
    Exit Sub
    ErrHandler:
    If Err = 2501 Then
    ' Report cancelled - ignore
    Else
    MsgBox Err.Description, vbExclamation
    End If
    End Sub
    If SomeField is a text field instead of a number field, change the line
            strIn = strIn & "," & Me.lbxMulti.ItemData(varItm)
    to
            strIn = strIn & "," & Chr(34) & Me.lbxMulti.ItemData(varItm) & Chr(34)

  • Reporting on a Multi-Select list field X:Y:Z

    I'm sure someone must have come across this problem but I can't find a reference to it on the forum.
    PROBLEM
    I have a data entry form with multi-select lists. Users choose a number of display values and the return values are stored in the field in the format
    20:30:50
    When I create an SQL report on a row, there is no option to Display the column as a "multi-select list" like there is with a standard List of Values.
    How do I report the display lookup values rather than the return code?
    Is it possible to display the selected values in a report for example
    red
    orange JOHN 10-JAN-07
    green
    red
    orange MARY 12-FEB-07
    orange
    green MARK 13-JUL-07
    regards
    Paul P

    Paul,
    I have several examples on this topic:
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:87
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:84
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:75
    Basically, you will need to create a table out of your colon separated values and then
    join this table with other tables to be able to display it however you want.
    What just comes to my mind is that Dietmar presented a nice workarround for a similar
    problem here:

  • How to write a javascript function on a report column with type select list

    I have a report with a select list column:
    HTMLDB_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV(22, "tablename"."PRIMARY", 'PRIMARY').
    The value of primary can be null, yes, no. I want to write a javascript to achieve this: once the user changes one primary value to be yes, others with 'yes' will be changed to 'no' automatically.
    Could somebody help me on this.
    Thanks.
    Jen

    Thanks Patrick for your quick reply.
    I created a dynamic action with the following steps, but the dynamic action is not taking place.
    Event: After Refresh
    Selection Type: Region
    Region: Report 1 (my report name)
    Then in the true action
    Action: Execute Javascript SCode
    Code: showHighlight();
    I even tried to get an alert, but the dynamic action is not done at all. It seems the After refresh dynamic action is not working for a region.

  • Posts from 2008 showing up in Aperture list this AM

    Is this a glitch or what? This morning posts with last post dates from 2008 starting showing up at the top of the message list in *Aperture Installation, Setup and General Usage* .
    Is there a problem with the list serve or am I missing something?

    Hopefully the hosts will see this.
    I suppose there are good reasons for the hosts doing this marking of posts so that they show up in searches. There is a danger doing this however with a topic like Aperture. All of the posts being 'bumped up' so far are from 2009 and back and cover earlier versions of Aperture (pre version 3). Now I didn't start using Aperture until version 3 so I'm not all that familiar with earlier version but I do know that were some significant changes going into version 3.
    Few of the posts mention what version they are addressing, which is to be expected as at the time the only version out was the current version. However given the changes some of the information in the posts do not pertain to version 3.
    For example this post from July 2009 [Creating new folders and why are they brown and blue?|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2094642&tstart=0]. Folders in 3 are all blue there are no more brown folders. A new Aperture user seeing this post will be confused at the least and could wind up using Aperture in a less then optimal way because they believe there are different types of folders that can only hold certain data.
    There are others, one post from 2009 asked about Aperture and Time Machine and was told that TM and Aperture don't work together. While this was true in 2009 TM now works well with Aperture libraries.
    Again I think this bumping of old posts needs to be rethought, as a minimum the posts should be modified to reflect that that are discussing prior versions of Aperture and that the information may not apply to the current version.

  • Multi-select lists, their return values and showing their display value

    I have a multi select list which is dynamic. The display and return values are pulled from a table where the return value is the Primary Key.
    When people select a few options, the value is stored in session state as 11:12:13 (etc...). From here, I run these numbers through a process which takes a report ID and the multi-select string, and saves individual rows as Report_id, individual multi select value until there are no more multi select values.
    This is great, they're tied in as a foreign key to the LOV lookup table, and they are easily search able.
    I have trouble where I want to list a report's entire multi-select list. I have a function combine the numbers with a : in between them and RTRIM the last one, so I have an identical string to what a multi-select table uses. 11:12:13 (etc..)
    When I assign it to display as an LOV in a report, it just shows the 11:12:13 instead of listing out the values.
    Single number entries, where someone only selected one option in a multi select, display fine.
    Am I doing this wrong?

    Scott - you're right on the money. I did this initially because I thought assigning an LOV display value to a report column would yield the results I wanted.
    I want to do this without referring to the original table... meaning I don't want a function to have to go out and get the names, I'd like my LOV assignment to do it. This saves headache of having to change something in 2 places if it ever changed.
    Am I not going to be able to do this?
    I created a test multi-LOV page, it doesn't work with original(not processed in my function) LOV assignments either, unless you only select one.

  • Refresh classic report based on select list value selected

    hello,
    can anyone please help me out with this issue. I have a parameterized classic report based on a select list and I want to refresh this report whenever the select list value is changed. I am using oracle apex version 3.2. i just want to have a javascript function onchange event for the select list which refreshes my report whenever a value is selected.
    My select list item is p1_datastore

    My classic report query is
    select * from my_table2 where datastore = :p1_datastore order by last_updated_dt desc;

  • Report Select List

    I have a problem with my select List.
    I have created a report. I wrote a query to retrieve the desired results. Inside of this reprot, there is a column named category that has about 6 different categories (a-f). I want to place a select list on the report that will choose a category. Once a category is chosen, it will select those results with that particular category that was selected.
    I have my select list above the report, but am not sure what/where to put the code to produce the results based on which category is chosen. Can anyone help with this??
    Thanks in advance.

    Please look again. The username and password are there.
    Also, but what about my query that generates the already made report? Won't I have to make changes to that query?
    If your report already references the Select List variable, I'd think it ought to be working. But I have seen -- in my own code -- where the Select List variable was there on the screen staring me in the face but it was "NULL" to the session and to my code that was checking for it. Or it was the value from last time around. Make sure that your "Source" definition for the Select List variable has Source Used:"Always, replacing any existing value in session state," and Source Type: "Static assignment" and make the "Source value expression" is "&<select-list-variable-name>." (period!) This worked for me.
    And I'm not familiar with the syntax --> ||'-'||. Isn't that used to concatenate two items/columns? That's just PL/SQL string concatentation. I'm putting a dash between the employee number and the letter selected.

    mistake in guide corrected.

    Hi Matt,
    which version of APEX are you currently on?
    With ApexLib Framework you can have cascading select lists in normal forms, but not in a Report or Tabular Form. Also refreshing a Report when changing a select list doesn't work out of the box. You would need to add some javascript. But i think this isn't what you wanted.

  • Select list in a manually created tabular form

    I created a select drop down item in a manually created tabular form. When I run the page, it also shows the null value '%'. How do I edit this?
    This is the line I am using in the SQL:
    htmldb_item.select_list_from_query(34,IN_PGRS_STAT_DSC,'select distinct STAT_DSC, STAT_DSC from PROJECT_STATUS_REF') IN_PGRS_STAT_DSC,

    And the select list doesn't work. It gives me an error message if I have the form to display one extra empty record and the select list. But even with the select list, if I don't include the extra row, it works properly.
    report error:
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 13:

    What I also realized is that the drop down shows the value 7. But the table is empty with no records. I have no idea where this number 7 is coming from?

  • Need a little JavaScript help with disabling a select list in a tabular frm

    Hello Folks
    Here's the scenario.
    I have a tabular form which, subject to the setting of one Select List, I want to disable/enable another.
    I have got this far and it will disable a text item but not a select list..
    This is in the HTML header section for the page...
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function test(pThis)
    var currIndex = $('select[name="'+pThis.name+'"]').index(pThis);
    if (pThis.value=='2') {
    $('input[name="f02"]')[currIndex].style.backgroundColor = "LightGrey";
    $('input[name="f02"]')[currIndex].disabled=true;
    The report region is defined as...
    SELECT apex_item.text(1, ir.iot_rebate_type_id) iot_rebate_type_id
    ,apex_item.select_list_from_lov_xl(2,ir.rebate_currency,'LOV_CURRENCY_CODES') rebate_currency
    FROM iot_rebate ir
    WHERE ir.iot_agreement_id = :P303_IOT_AGREEMENT_ID
    The iot_rebate_type_id column has an Column Element Attribute set to...
    onchange="javascript:test(this);"
    As I say, if I define the rebate currency as a text item, the javascript works fine.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Many thanks

    Hi Vikram.
    That's great.
    I have the relevant items being set to diabled & grey (and also the reverse of this if the driving select list is changed back).
    As this is being used in a Tabular form, if I am calling pre-existing records which should be displayed with two of the select lists disabled, can you point me in the right direction to show the relevent select lists as disabled when the records are returned from the database?If you are using apex_item API set the disabled property into p_attributes parameter conditionally using a case statement in you sql statement
    Another option is you can use some javascript to loop through the tabular form array that runs on the onload of the page.
    Finally, if some columns are disabled, this invaludates the MRU process on the page. Is there a way to submit the page with some fields in the disabled state?Do that as per Roel's suggestion for this issue.
    Any input/pointers much appreciated.

  • Cascading select list issue in a tabular form

    hello,
    how can i implement cascading select list for filtering my tabular form report results.
    Like i want to have the cascading select list above the tabualr form report such that when i select the value and try to click a button, my tabular form report should filter the report based on the select list value.
    i want to have three select list items above my report - and these select list are dependent on one other - tats why i want to make them cascading select list.
    can anyone help me out with cascading select list.
    thanks.

    Thank you so much for the quick response saved my life!.
    For future reference let examples of the use of APEX_UTIL.SAVEKEY_VC2 and APEX_UTIL.KEYVAL_VC2
    This is the query of the Tabular Form
    SELECT   den.cod_encuesta,
             den.cod_det_encuesta,
             den.cod_pregunta,
             pre.nombre_pregunta,
             den.respuesta,
             den.observaciones,
             APEX_UTIL.SAVEKEY_VC2(den.cod_pregunta) codpreg
      FROM   enc_det_encuesta den, enc_pregunta pre
    WHERE   den.cod_pregunta = pre.cod_pregunta
       AND   den.cod_encuesta = :P6_COD_ENCUESTAThis is the query "Select list"
    SELECT   nombre_respuesta, cod_respuesta
      FROM   enc_respuesta
    WHERE   cod_pregunta =  APEX_UTIL.KEYVAL_VC2regards
