Tomcat is Hanging - URGENT..URGENT

Hai,
We converted POWER BUILDER Product into JSP. It is working fine and we are using Tomcat Webserver. The problem is, after doing some core operations Tomcat Server is hanging. What is the actival problem exists ? Any memory variables are available in Tomcat ?

Default request encoding in tomcat 4.0.6 (urgent)

Hi all,
I developed a web application which supports japanese characters. The configuration is apache, tomcat 3.3.1, mysql.In this configuration the application works fine.
I tranferred the application to tomcat 4.0.6, now the japanese characters are displayed as ????. But the characters retrieved from the db are displaying correctly, the characters which are read from the text field are displaying like ??? (I set all the charset properly, this same code working correctly in the above configuration).
I think in tomcat 3.3.1 server.xml file has <DecodeInterceptor /> tag to decode all the request in the given encoding, I used <DecodeInterceptor defaultEncoding="Shift_JIS" /> in tomcat 3.3.1, like this is any tags availabe to configure tomcat 4.0.6 or any otherway to decode the request. Please give me your suggestions, its very urgent because I am in the deadline of this project.

You could try running the server from a Japanese or UTF-8 locale (depending on what encoding you are expecting from the client). This should change the default behaviour (when the browser doesn't explicitly say what encoding it is using).
But if the charset was set properly when the form was served, then the browsers should be sending back the same charset with its Content-type header, so Tomcat 4 should automatically use the right encoding IIRC.

ADS hanging ----very urgent

Hi all ,
I have done a form in SFP and the ADS has been configured ( it is in the EP server ).Now I am trying to excutte the my driver program by using the generated FM program it is hanging the program is hanging...anyclue...
This is same for SAP provided example fp_example_01
but fp_pdf_test00 ADS test program is giving the ADS configuration number so I hope ADS is configured correctly

Install ADS by guide. Check Installation by unsing the webservice.
If all is correctly configured try that:
Configtool -->Global Server Configuration > managers > ApplicationThreadManager --> MaxThreadCount
Set it at least set to 150. If you have also XI installed this number shall be 350 at least.

Tomcat performence issues..Urgent

i have developed one webapllication which uses 20,000 employees...
problem is tomcat not releasing the memory ...memory is growing up to some peek stage then it is not allowed any requests and it going down..

is there any thing need to be done from my end . to improve the performence......

You may consider implementing a robust DAO/ORM instead of writing it on your own. Hibernate for example. I bet that your code is not written very well.

Essbase Server Hangs Intermittently - Urgent pls Help

Essbase Version - 9.3.3
Shared Services - 9.3.3
Enviroment - Windows Server 2003
We are in the process of migrating the users from Domain A to Domain B
There are around 15000 users across the board, out of which I assume there are around 250 users accessing the Hyperion Application.
Since the Domain Migration was started, We encountered Essbase Server freezes Intermittently.
Essbase Server goes down for about 10-15 Minutes and automatically comes back. No Error Msg in the Essbase Log.
Active Directory Migration was put on Hold because business had to complete their Month end Activities.
While we were working to find the RCA and identified that few users who were migrated from Domain A to Domain B appeared to be on Both the Domain and we figured out that it might be one of the reason for Essbase Server Hangs.
We had a Plan to Run the Update native Directory Utility to clear the Stale Data
Post Performing the Action our system was stable and didn't had system Hangs.
we also changed the shared services Cache refresh Interval to 24 Hrs in CSS.xml File ( Just to Make sure the Refresh happens Overnight)
Since the Active Directory Team had resumed their Migration Activies, we started Experiencing the System Hangs Issues again. server goes down for 5-10 min and comes back up
Please Input your Valuable Thoughts, Would Really Appreciate your Help.

As mentioned, AD team have the filters on place, There is no issues with the User Access and there was no change in password after migrating the Domain.
I have checked the Display Session through Maxl and there is No heavy sessions.
As Stated earlier, we are unable to identify the cause regarding the System Freeze. All users access the application all of sudden essbase server hangs and it doesn't allow user to retrieve the data, nor allow him to access any application within Essbase and Planning.
After 5-10 Min, server automatically comes back.
Can you tell me if there is a way to track the system Hangs through Essbase Log without getting the any inputs from the users.
Assuming if the users sessions are heavy what makes the server hang and automatically resumes without intervention.
Shared Services Security Log display the following Error, Can you tell me if you had come across any such errors before.

Simple Tomcat+SSI Issue but Urgent!

OK, this should be simple.
I've configured my TOMCAT web.xml file to allow for SSI in both the servlet and servlet mapping. I've also re-named my jar file to 'servlets-ssi.jar', AND restarted TOMCAT. I have a simple HTML page that pulls in a simple HTML file...but it doesn't work...

We are using Iplanet Web server 6.0 on windows-2000 SP2.The problem we are facing is after 10 concurrent users have logged in the CPU utilization shoots up to 100% and we have to reboot the systesm
Our billing Application is affected very much due to this.

I don't know for sure, but I imagine that your CellEditor and CellRenderer return the table when they should probably return the JScrollPane that contains the table. I suppose I should be more worried seeing as the fate of the world depends on this very problem. You know the president called me just the other day asking the same thing. I realize that we might run out of clean air or water if this is not solved, but I got some other things to do right now...

Service Tax Credit is similar to the CENVAT credit where you can setoff the Service Tax paid against the Service tax payable.
If you create a tax code with Service Tax Without Credit there is not special treatment for this.
It is just taken to Expense accounts instead a Balance sheet account (Service Interim Tax Credit)

Urgent Urgent help needed :( :(

Can anyone help me urgently. I'm a mac user and occasionally use windows which i now regret profusely. I am about to loose several folders which i backed up on my memory stick which i plugged onto a windows system which i suspect had a virus.
I now cannot open any of the folders as they come up as unix executable files. What does this mean?? And more importantly, can any of these folders be retrieved? I have work from as far back as 10 years ago. I don't mind loosing some of it but some are way too important. Please please help me....I'm too desperate to get my folders back. Does anyone know if a anti virus could clean the memory stick and hopefully also retrieve the work?? Any information would be massively appreciated.
I risk loosing all my business accounts, business plans, catalogues, client records plus tonnes of other precious work and info.
And just in case anyone is wondering, i thought saving all this on a memory stick was safe and i moved all my folders there to free up memory space on my I Book.

First step, is to calm down. Panicking is only going to lead to mistakes.
Second step, as mentioned, is to make an identical copy of the disk.
Third step, is to work on fixing the COPY of the data. DO NOT TRY TO "FIX" YOUR ONLY COPY!! This way, if you make a mistake, you can just erase the botched copy, and re-copy the original.
For the second step, use Disk Tools to make a disk image of your ahem "backup" disk.
Go into Finder, and select "Utilities" from the "Go" menu. Then double-click on "Disk Utility".
Select your Flash device from the leftmost pane. Not just the Partition which has your data, click on the item that represents the entire flash disk. RESIST THE URGE TO CLICK ON "Repair Disk"!
From the "File" menu, click "New", which will bring-up a submenu. From the Submenu, click the last item, "Disk image from Disk1". Yours might not say "Disk1", it might end with a different number.
Give the disk image a name that you'll recognize. Under Image format, select "Read Only" for now. Leave "Encryption" setting at "None". Click "Save". Depending on the size of your flash drive, this may take a while. BE PATIENT.
Eject your flash drive.
Select your Disk Image, and then click on "Repair Disk". Again, this will take a while. Again, be patient!
If this fixes the disk copy, be glad, say thank you, and then sign-up for a Drop-box account, buy a dedicated external Hard Drive, and setup Time Machine, etc. Most of all, learn and realize that "backup copy" means "redundant copy", not "only copy". If this doesn't fix the problem, post any details to this forum, and we'll try to help as best we can.

I am also a windows user. Try to install a virus protection system. Bring your USB to another windows computer, virus-free, and upload the files. Windows should recognise the files and retrieve them. Then, make backup copies of the files on a CD.
