Tool pane, Hi Res Display

I just got a new hybrid with a 2880X1620 display.  The text in the tool pane is so small it unusable.  How can I adjust the text size in this pane?

No, it's not possible.

  • Tools in High Res Display

    I have a new hybrid with a 2880X1620 display.  The icons in the toolbar and tool pane are so small they are unusable.  How can I adjust the size of the tools?

    This is a problem with many apps. There is no way to adjust tool size so far as I know, you'd have to adjust screen resolution to use such apps effectively. One day apps will catch up with this new tech and we'll be able to buy upgrades I imagine...

  • Tools pane not displaying highlights, sticky notes

    My system is window 7 and I'm using the latest version of adobe reader xi, which I just downloaded after uninstalling a previous copy in an effort to figure out why it's not working.  After searching on the forums I disabled protected mode and now the reader no longer stops working after about 1 minute, so that problem was fixed.
    However, the reader no longer displays the highlights and sticky notes in the tools pane that I had already created on my documents.  The tools pane just shows a circle in the middle and nothing else.  Any ideas?

    No. it requires a connection for the email and online features. the first time it opens it usually take a little longer.
    You can STILL access the highlighter and sticky notes from your toolbar. Here's how to add them (it's Mac, but the menu is the same for Windows)
    You MUST have a PDF open to access this menu. Click "Show All Comment Tools" and they will appear in the toolbar at the top. You can access them from there WITHOUT the tools panel open.

  • Problems with selection marquee in Photoshop CS5.5 on MacBook Pro with Hi-Res Display

    A few months ago i bought a 15" MacBook Pro with the hi-res display (not retina display...just the higher res display offered prior to the release of the retina display).
    I'm having trouble with Photoshop and selection marquees. In particular, anytime I make a selection while viewing the image at 100% zoom level (so, actual pixels), the "marching ants" selection marquee I draw always shifts over a few pixels after I draw it.
    So I'll make a precise rectangular marquee around an object, and it will look right, until I release the button on my mouse. The moment I release the mouse button, the marquee shifts over a few pixels in both directions (vertically and horizontally).
    This has never happened on any version of Photoshop or on any Mac I've ever used before (and I've been using Photoshop for a LONG time on LOTS of different Macs), so I can only assume it has something to do with the Hi-Res display. This same version of Photoshop works just fine on my previous MacBook Pro laptop. But after installing it on the new MacBook, immediately - and consistently, every time - it happens.
    If I zoom in and use the tool, it doesn't have the problem. It seems to only occur when viewing at 100% (which is usually for me), but it does do it EVERY TIME I use the rectangular marque tool.
    It's driving me a little bit batty.
    Anyone else?

    An update...I had thought to try changing the Open GL settings, but it didn't seem to make any difference. However, I hadn't realized that you need to restart Photoshop for changes made to the Open GL preferences to take effect, so I wasn't actually changing anything.
    Turns out, it's an Open GL drawing issue - and disabling it fixes the problem.
    Of course, you also lose all of the other enhancements that come from enabling Open GL drawing.
    I'm only leaving this discussion up in case anyone else with the same problem stumbles across the issue.

  • Tool pane for selecting properties for app in SharePoint 2013(Something like webpart properties for apps)

    How to create a tool pane for apps in SharePoint using SharePoint hosted app model 2013..I mean i m looking for something like webpart propeties to be given to the user for selecting desired content.Can someone provide help code for this functionality

    Hi,
    According to your description, when users select several items in a library and click a button, you want to get related data from these items/files and then perform
    other operations.
    Yes, the “Custom Action in Ribbon” solution would be a good choice for you cause what you need is only clicking a button after selected items in a list view page.
    With JavaScript Client Object Model, we can get data of the selected items using JavaScript, then add the JavaScript code into the custom action to make it to be triggered
    when clicking the button.
    I would suggest you take a look at the two links below about how to work with custom ribbon button and JavaScript Client Object Model for a quick start:

  • Userform controls disappearing in Word 2013/Windows 8.1 with High-Res display - DLL error?

    I have a .dotm file with a large number of modules and userforms. Creating new documents from the template works fine on almost every computer I've tested it on (hundreds), but I've run into a setup that fails consistently.
    Two different Samsung ATIV 9's with a high res display and Windows 8 (64bit)/Office 2013 show the same problem:
    When opening a new document based on the template for the first time, it works fine. If I open the VB editor, everything looks normal, userforms are intact.
    On the second and all consecutive attempts, it throws a "Type Mismatch" error. Opening the VB Editor, I get a compile error on lines of code referencing components of the first userform (alphabetically). Opening that userform, it shows only a blank
    multi-page control, and all the other controls are missing - hence the new compile errors on controls that used to exist. If I remove that userform and save the file, the project compiles, but opening a new document from the template will result in "Word
    has stopped working..."
    I can actually reproduce this behavior starting from scratch - new blank document, save as a .dotm. Create a new userform and add a multipage control. Clicking any control in the toolbox to add it to the form will result in a "Type Mismatch" error,
    even though there's no VBA code. I can then successfully add the control to the form. But, once I save and reopen the template, the multi-page control is blank, and the other controls I put on it disappear.
    I at one point got an error from the VB Editor that it "could not open macro storage" and the included help suggested that might be due to an incorrect version of vbe7.dll.
    The only copy of vbe7.dll I could find was at:
    c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\vfs\ProgramFilesCommonX86\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA7.1
    The dll version was 7.1.10.44
    I tried replacing that file with a vbe7.dll file from a working computer (version 7.0.15.89 from c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\VBA\VBA7), but that just resulted in the VB editor not loading at all.
    I have tried both a 32bit Click-to-run version of Office 2013, and installing off a CD with 64bit Office 2013, both had exactly the same error.
    The reason I'm wondering if it's a high-DPI display related error is that googling about vbe7.dll errors, I came across this hotfix:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2880496/en-us
    which claims it "Fixes various Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) issues with displays on high-DPI devices."
    Neither the 32bit or 64bit installer for that hotfix would run, they said there was no affected programs installed.
    My reasoning for suspecting a hardware/DLL incompatibility is this:
    1) It's not the template or the VBA code, since those work elsewhere and the same behavior happens with any file with a userform
    2) It's not the Office version, since both 32/64 bit, MSI and Click-to-run didn't work
    3) It's not Windows 8.1, since this same template works fine on other machines
    4) The first time I open the template on the affected machines, it works fine - but the template is shipped compacted and decompiled. After I open it once and then close, Word has compiled the code and corrupted it somehow, because whatever the first userform
    was in the list shows up as blank.
    5) It feels hardware-specific, since out of hundreds of machines, I've only seen this behavior on two of the same laptop model - seems like too much of a coincidence.
    Is there any chance the VBE in Office 2013 is somehow incompatible with this hardware? If that might be the case, does anyone have any idea how I'd go about testing and/or fixing it?
    Any thoughts are much appreciated.

    Hi Chris,
    Try the following.
    Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp59861.exe
    When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  If you see an entry for IDT HD Audio ( or very similar IDT entry ), right click the device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.  If there was no IDT entry, just proceed below.
    When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
    Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
    Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

    DP-K

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.03 - tools pane opens automatically by default

    I just deployed the latest adobe reader MSI patch through group policy, but in this patch, the tools pane is opened automatically. Most of my users don't use it, much less know how to close it. The problem is that there is no typical "close", "x" or ">>" icon, so users are unaware that they can close it. Even I had to think a moment on how to actually close it (by clicking the "tools" button").
    The group policy ADM template doesn't offer an option to close this pane.
    Is there another method that I can use which closes (or disables) the tools pane by default? Possibly a registry setting of some sort? An MST setting?

    Found a solution:
    Using the Adobe Customization Wizard XI, open the MSI, go to the section named "online and adobe online services" and tick the box that says "disable the tools pane in reader".
    Then, generate the transform. If it complains about missing a setup.ini file, just create a blank text file named setup.ini in the same folder as the MSI file.
    After that, deploy using GPO, and make sure to include the MST modification file.

  • How do I remove the Tools Pane Permanently in Adobe Reader DC?

    I have just installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2015 Release and it has a very annoying
    bug/feature that I don't like.
    I have to keep removing the Tools Pane using using SHIFT+F4 every time.
    Is there a way to make this pane dissapear permanently by making this setting stick?
    This hasn't been a problem in previous versions of Adobe Reader.
    Please tell me how to remove this annoying pane or issue an update to make this setting stick when opening PDFs.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Huh,
    to disable the right pane, you can follow the answer from tmmcentyre  https://forums.adobe.com/message/7472578#7472578 or the answer from HHugo https://forums.adobe.com/message/7544218#7544218
    The problem with both workarounds is, if you click on "Home" or "Tools" on the toolbar, you can't go back to "Document."
    With tmmcentyres workaround you lose some more features too.
    To fix this follow HHugos workaround, but keep the last line form the file too.
    So edit the "Viewer.aapp" file located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroApp\ENU\".
    Here remove line 2 till 8:
    <Layouts>
        <Layout name="Default">
            <RHP>
                <Component name="AppShortcutListView" type="Custom"/>
            </RHP>
        </Layout>
    </Layouts>
    So the content of the file is only:
    <Application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/acrobat/app/2014" title="Viewer" id="Viewer" majorVersion="1" requiresDoc="true" minorVersion="0">
    </Application>
    Now the right pane should be closed if you open a .pdf file. You can switch between "Home", "Tools" and "Document" without issues and the remaining features should work as intended also.

  • Hide Tools pane in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?

    How can I permanently hide the options that appear on the right side of my screen when I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to open a document or image I've saved on my desktop screen?

    Solution by tmmcentyre.  It works for me.
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1817184
    Go to the install directory, i.e." C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroApp\ENU". Create a new subfolder (I used "Disabled"). Move 3 files from the "ENU" folder into the new "Disabled" folder: AppCenter_R.aapp & Home.aapp & Viewer.aapp. Open a PDF and no more Tool Pane!  I originally moved just the "Viewer" file but if you clicked on "Home" or "Tools" on the toolbar you couldn't go back to the "Document." Moving all 3 files takes care of that issue. Like a lot of people I don't and won't ever use any of the tools. I just want a reader. Let me know if this works for you.

  • How do you permanently disable Tool Pane from showing up every time you open a pdf document in Adobe Reader DC 2015?

    Just like 9.9/10 people out here in the real world, I use Adobe Reader to read pdf files and never (ever) use the Tool Pane for anything.
    How do I permanently disable it from showing up, instead of having to close it *each & every time* I open a pdf document? The majority of people don't want thins thing covering up the page they are trying to read.

    Okay, seems I've stumbled upon an ugly workaround but it works for me. I'm using Windows 8.1.

  • Have the right Comment pane be the default instead of the Tools pane

    I'm cross posting this from my other post, found here. Since I don't think the Quick Tools bar can be customized in Reader XI, my main question is:
    Can you change which "pane" is selected on the right side when Reader XI is launched?
    I'm not 100% sure if pane is the right term, but when you open Reader XI, Tools, Sign, and Comment are shown on the right side. Later, if you open a PDF, Extended is also shown. Right now, Tools is always open when you open a PDF, or open Reader XI. If I can't customize the Quick Tools, at least I should be able to tell Reader which right-side pane to default to when Reader is opened, shouldn't I?
    Again, searching the Preference Reference doesn't turn up anything definitive. A few entries looked slightly promising, bcommentPanelOnImport being one of them, but no matter the combination, Tools always defaults when Reader is opened.
    So, to get more specific,
    Can I have the Comment pane open by default when Reader XI is launched, as opposed to the Tools pane?
    Thanks again in advance.

    Can you please post some screenshots ?
    Also have you tried to test by rotating the text frame ?
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Disable/Always Hide Tools Pane? (Reader DC)

    How do you disable the Tools Pane from showing every time you open a PDF file? I keep having to hide it and it gets annoying after awhile when one doesn't need it.

    Hi Morisatos123,
    Tools Pane is a core part of user interface in Adobe Acrobat DC & Reader DC, so it can not be permanently disabled.
    Some of our customers have raised the same issue & like then you too can fill the feature request form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Let me know if you have any other query, we will be happy to help you.

    I want the Tools Pane hidden whenever I use Acrobat Reader DC.

  • Unable to convert - missing tools pane

    I have had a subscription to Adobe ExportPFD for 2 years; suddenly, I'm no longer able to convert PDF to Word or Excell because the tools pane is missing.  what do I do now?

    I think you're trying to sign in inside Adobe Reader? No, I mean to sign on that web page I mentioned. It's an alternative to using Adobe Reader. The web page is http://exportpdf.adobe.com/
    The sign in link is top right. Sign in before trying to convert, so it know who you are.
