Tool/Utility/Method to retrieve roles and mapping of those roles.

Hi friends,
We are running SAP EP6 SP2 on WEB AS 6.20.
I want name and description of all roles created and mapping of those roles ( Roles -> groups and Roles -> Users ) in this system. The one way to do it is using User Administration -> Roles but it'll take a lot of time. Is there any tool/utility/shortcut method available for the same?

Nilz

Hi nilz,
  I don't think there is any tool as such to do this. U need some programmatic approach for this. U can get the roles using pcd search but I am not sure if u can get the mapping details.

  • Utility method

    I know PreparedStatements help prevent SQL injection and ticks.
    The only thing I notice is it doesnt handle greater than and less than such as < with a > entry in a form. When they are entered into a form that populates oracle it seems to disappear when I view the record on a web page.
    I can create a Utility method to handle this and was wondering if this is what others do to handle < with a > form entries?

    Escape it into an HTML entity when displayed.

    No, there are no gurantees. The capabilitty exists to retrive deleted data from an iPhone, but like many things in life it is not 100% successful all the time. Be careful, there are a lot of scam artists out there. They take your money & retrive nothing. This guy is one of the best in the business, but he does not work for people in the private sector. Perhaps he can recommend a service to you. But, as already pointed out, you're looking at thousands of dollars out of pocket whether these folks are successful or not:

  • RAP and MAPs change the channel and Radio Role

    I have a WLC 2504 with version  AIR-CT2500-K9-7-5-102-0, LAPs are AIR-CAP2602E-A-K9
    I set serveral LAPs for working in mesh mode, I set three Bridge Group Name, the first group has one Root AP and three MAPS working in channel 157, every MAP has a switch connected to its ethernet port.
    the second group has 2 LAPs one Root and one MAP, all working in channel 48. The MAP  is connected to a switch.
    the third group has  2 LAPs, one root and one MAP, all working in channel 149. The MAP  is connected to a switch.
    The issue is the next:
    At the beginnig every LAPs were associated to its bridge group and in the channel defined but suddenly all LAPs of group 1 move to channel 48 (second group) includind the ROOT AP. This happend after the switch that connect to the RAP was disconnect from  LAN.
    In order the associate once again LAPs of the first group  to the channel I defined previously I connected RAP to the switch once again I notice the channel shown was 48 and in downlink role mode.I change to channel 157 reset the LAP and wait several minutes; after the first reset the RAP remains in channel
    48 (it must be 157), I reset once again and wait severeal minutes. Finally the RAP was up and working in channel 157.
    After this I reset the MAPs that corresponde to BGN 1 , after severasl minutes finally just one MAPs for BGN 1 was show in the correct channel and in the correct Radio role, I have to reset several times  the other MAPs until they were shown in the channel I set previously and in the correct radio role.
    I would like to know the reason the RAP and MAP move to a differente channel eventhough I define de Bridge Group Name in every one and the specific channel.
    regards

    Hi scott ,
    Thanks for your explanation, very clear.
    In my scenario  every RAP connet to a switch where I define VLANs and specific VLANs are allow to pass. If RAP and MAP join to a different RAP (different BGN)
    it will allow to pass traffic or maybe don't allow traffic I needs to .  That's why I worry about the keep the MAPs join to the correct RAP and the RAP keep in the BGN and channel set previously.
    is there any option to this  avoid this issue?
    Thanks a lot for your time

    I would like to retrieve data from Oracle8.0.5 using sqlj.
    i tried:
    <%@page language="sqlj
    import= sqlj.runtime.ref.DefaultContext,oracle.sqlj.runtime.Oracle"%>

    someone helps?
    thanx

    This uses a feature which is only found in post 8.1.6.1 versions of Oracle SQLJ. You have two choices:
    (1) Download ojsp 1.0.0.6.1 or later from OTN. This contains an updated SQLJ version.
    (2) Or wait for the SQLJ 8.1.7 release (or later) in the next couple of weeks.

    what is lookups
    Lookups are used to identify / request the data from mapping , i mean interupting the process and looking for data which was stored in some where and get that data and comback to process and continue with that data.
    why we can use for lookups.
    We will use these type of lookups in Message mapping for refering DB Lookup for data base which is not SAP, RFC lookups for SAP data
    Look up tables
    In the error handling topic we have seen the different validations which need to be performed on file.
    This can be done through Lookup.
    Some use cases:
    • Look up employee information.
    • Lookup for raising an alert.
    The purpose of the lookup may be:
    • To perform application-level validation of the data, before sending it to the backend.
    • To populate fields of the XML document with some additional data found in the backend application.
    There are two ways in which we can do lookup:
    • Call lookup method from GUI mapping.
    • Call lookup method from XSLT mapping.

  • The new "foreach" statement and maps

    The new "foreach" statement requires an object that implements the java.lang.Iterable<T> interface.
    But why do not extend "for" for accepting objects that implements the Map interface?
    Map<String,String> m = new TreeMap<String,String>();
    for (String key, String value : m) {
         System.out.println (key + "=" + value);
    }The current alternative
    Map<String,String> m = new TreeMap<String,String>();
    for (Map.Entry<String,String> e : m.entrySet()) {
         System.out.println (e.getKey() + "=" + e.getValue());
    }is not so clean.

    The new "foreach" statement requires an object that
    implements the java.lang.Iterable<T> interface.Incidentally, I believe "foreach" also allows an object that is an array.
    But why do not extend "for" for accepting objects that
    implements the Map interface?I think that the use of "Iterable" is a very good idea. The interface contains just one method (iterator) and that method is inherently linked to the concept of "foreach". This means anyone can write their own class that implements Iterable, and their class can then be used with "foreach".
    If we specified that "foreach" also worked with Map (with its umpteen methods, only one of which (entrySet) is relevant to "foreach"), this would prevent people writing their own classes which iterate through pairs of values (unless those classes happened to implement Map).
    Ideally, there would be a new interface Pair<A,B> in java.lang (with getFirst() and getSecond() methods), and then if the compiler came across something like this:
        for (String str, Widget widget : items) { ... }where items is an instance of Iterable<Pair<String,Widget>>, then for each iteration, the "Pair" would be split into its component parts and stored in the variables "str" and "widget".
    Unfortunately, it would be difficult to retrofit this concept to java.util.Map, since it would require Map to introduce a new method:
    interface Map<K,V> extends Iterable<Pair<K,V>> {
        Iterator<Pair<K,V>> iterator();
    }and Map.Entry would need to extend Pair, and therefore introduce two new methods:
    interface Entry<K,V> extends Pair<K,V> {
        K getFirst();
        V getSecond();
    }Both of these changes would break huge amounts of existing code that uses Map or Map.Entry.
    Maybe one for Java 3 :)

  • PI 7.1 : Taking a input PDF file and mapping it to a hexBinary attribute

    Hello All,
    We have a requirement which involves taking in an input PDF file and mapping it to a message type with binary attribute and sending it to an R3 system.
    Can anyone please detail the steps or point us to the correct documents for setting up the scenario.
    The scenario is file to Proxy adapter. The part which we need assitance is pulling up the input pdf and mapping it to binary field.
    Thanks.
    Kiran

    Thanks Praveen,Mayank,Sarvesh and Andreas for your  valuable help with the issue.
    I was able to successfully pick up the binary PDF file from a file server , encode it using Base 64 and post it to R3.
    I used the following code snippet and added the mentioned jar files to create a new jar file which was used as java mapping in the operation mapping.
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformation;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.*;
    import com.sap.aii.utilxi.base64.api.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class Base64EncodingXIStandard implements StreamTransformation{
         String fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA;
         private Map param;
         public void setParameter (Map map)
              param = map;
              if (param == null)
                   param = new HashMap();
         public static void main(String args[])
              Base64EncodingXIStandard con = new Base64EncodingXIStandard();
              try
                   InputStream is = new FileInputStream(args[0]);
                   OutputStream os = new FileOutputStream(args[1]);
                   con.execute(is, os);
              catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
    public void execute(InputStream inputstream, OutputStream outputstream)
                   DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) param.get("DynamicConfiguration");
                   DynamicConfigurationKey KEY_FILENAME = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
                   fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA = conf.get(KEY_FILENAME);
                   if (fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA == null)
                        fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA = "ToBase64.txt";
              try
                   while ((len = inputstream.read(buffer)) > 0)
                        baos.write(buffer, 0, len);
                   str = Base64.encode(baos.toByteArray());     //buffer);
                   outputstream.write("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?><ROOT>".getBytes());
                   outputstream.write(("<FILENAME>" + fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA + "</FILENAME>").getBytes());
                   outputstream.write( ("<BASE64DATA>" + str + "</BASE64DATA></ROOT>" ).getBytes());
              catch(Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
         byte[] buffer = new byte[1024*5000];
         ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
         int len;
         String str = null;
    I had to do the following configuration settings
    1)  Create a Sender Comm Channel with Adapter Specific message attributes and Filename checkbox checked.
    2) Use the Java Mapping in the Operation mapping.
    The scenario is working smoothly with out any issues.

  • Problem in Creating .wsdl file and mapping.xml with ant

    hi
    i am created my .wsdl file and mapping.xml file with wscompile tool but when i run this by ant tool it show a problem.
    the command runs on command prompt but when run throught ant file it shows a following error :-

    The following Ant snippet is the way I've defined my wscompile task. I'm creating a web application and it looks like yours might be an EJB endpoint, but you can adjust where necessary:
    <taskdef name="wscompile" classname="com.sun.xml.rpc.tools.ant.Wscompile">
         <classpath refid="compile.classpath" />
    </taskdef>
    <target name="init">

    </target>
    <!-- This target compiles the server components using an existing WSDL as the driving document.
           The configuration file must use the <wsdl> element giving the location (local file system
           or URL) of the WSDL document.
           Note: the fork argument is needed to over come a bug when using the mapping argument. See
           http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592994&tstart=0
      -->
         <target name="generate-server-from-WSDL" depends="init">
              <wscompile fork="yes"
                           keep="true"
                           base="${basedir}/WebContent/WEB-INF/classes"
                           import="true"
                           features="wsi"
                           xPrintStackTrace="true"
                           verbose="true"
                           mapping="${basedir}/WebContent/WEB-INF/jaxrpc-mapping.xml"
                           sourcebase="${basedir}/src"
                           config="${config.server.doclit.file}">
                   <classpath>
                        <path refid="compile.classpath" />
                   </classpath>
              </wscompile>
         </target>
         <target name="compile-server-from-WSDL" depends="generate-server-from-WSDL">
              <javac srcdir="${basedir}/src" destdir="${basedir}/WebContent/WEB-INF/classes" debug="${compile.debug}">
                   <classpath refid="compile.classpath" />
              </javac>
         </target>Just make sure that the named destination directories exist before you run the script.

  • Util to auto-generate getters and setters...

    Does anyone know of a utility that automatically generate getters and setter classes from a list of variable names???
    Might stop me getting RSI!

    i gave up on gets/sets about 2weeks after mylecturer
    introduced them to us :/Giving up on gets/sets is a mistake... take it from an
    EXPERIENCED programmer.you assume 2 much. Uni was a long time ago 4 me.
    >
    if a var can be modified, then make it public.Though
    adding a get/set method does provide encapsulation,it
    also requires more typing, bloats code and is alsoa
    fraction slower.Adding get/set methods provide more then just the
    encapsulation. It provides you easier debug not to
    mention easier way to read the code.Encapsulation encapsulates the idea of ezier debuggin :]
    gets/sets do not automatically give you code readability, and badly named gets/sets can detract from readability.
    >
    Sometimes gets/sets serve a purpose, but most ofthe
    time theyre just a waste of time.If you think set/get is a waste of time your attitude
    will get you into trouble. Consider code with a full
    set of public variables in a 'complex' system (well,
    lets just say 1500 classes).ok, you've applied my philosophy to your field, now let me apply yours to mine.
    I write games for Java enabled mobile phones(J2ME MIDP1.0), on this platform code size (and memory usage) is a SERIOUS concern.
    FYI. the Nokia 6310i mobile phone has approx. 140k of heap, and a jar size limited of 30k.
    EVERY line of code has to be optimal, in both space and time,
    The cost of gets/sets; inheritance; interfaces and all the other wonderful OO design features of java are serious performance inhibitors, and consequently are used only when absolutly necessary.
    >
    During development a bug is discovered and you realize
    that the bug is due to a change in a specific
    variable. How do you, quickly and simply, find out
    what classes are changing the variable. It could be
    anywhere; but by having a get and set method for that
    variable you could add a simple code like "new
    Exception().printStackTrace();" into the set method
    and get a trace when the bug happens. This way you
    would know within secondes what object is changing the
    variable making the debugging easy. don't write buggy code ;] (that was a j/k btw)
    btw, im curious how exactly do u realise that the bug is related to a specific variable? gets/sets help debugging, but they are not the magic bullet of debugging techniques.
    >
    What if you would like to override a class and to
    something before or after a variable is manipulated?
    This would be impossible if all variables are public.
    You will loose all control of you code.you are still argueing a different point to me - the abstraction of gets/sets do serve a purpose, however they also impose a cost.
    >
    There are many more reasons for adding the get/set
    methods but it will take me all day to write them all
    here.
    I say: "have all variables protected, GET OFF YOUR
    ASS, and add the 200 lines of code" if not for you
    then for the one that later will be using or fixing
    the code.
    Its quite funny watching a newbie programmer start
    writing a class, they identify the classes required
    attributes, then write 200lines of gets and sets
    before they even consider tackling the 'hard'bit[s]
    of the class :]What do think of code guidlines that are forced by
    most software companies? This is more important then
    most NEWBIES think; wait a few years and you will get
    the point..
    my point here, is that training programmers to follow guidelines before you have taught them the fundamentals of problem solving is futile.
    What about comments? Do you find them funny and
    useless? hope you don't...for your sake.no, all good code should be commented. But I have to admit, I don't waste time commenting code as i write it, i find it slows down my coding. However I will always go back and comment any code if it is to be used by some1 else.
    >
    Thinking it funny that people take the time and effort
    to make their code more readable, understandable,
    accessable, flexible and over all more pretty makes
    you the newbie.hmm, unprovoked flaming - now whos the newbie :/
    >
    It scares me to think that the new breed of
    programmers will think it funny to write GOOD code.

    What frustrates me, is why good design always means slower performance.
    It shouldn't, and until Java progresses to the point where the runtime cost of good design is not significant, I will still regard Java as a primitive language.

  • Order and map problems

    i have a user defined type which in essence works great. however if i try to run a sub query i get the message
    ORA-22950: cannot ORDER objects without MAP or ORDER method
    which i assume happens because i have not ordered my user defined type in any way, thus
    what is the command to order the type definition

    Marcus,
    I am curious of your application. Why only one user-defined type? Here is how to remedy your problem,
    1. The error measnt:
    ORA-22950 cannot ORDER objects without MAP or ORDER method
    Cause: An object type must have a MAP or ORDER method defined for all comparisons other than equality and inequality comparisons.
    Action: Define a MAP or ORDER method for the object type.
    2. Check out the documentation at http://download-west.oracle.com/otndoc/oracle9i/901_doc/appdev.901/a88878/adobjbas.htm#459409 to learn more about ORDER and MAP methods.
    Regards,
    Geoff
