Accelerator http suppress-server-encoding enabled?

Why would WAAS allow compression for content that rarely changes?  Wouldn't it make more sense to suppress-compression for that content, take advantage of DRE and WAAS ability to cache that content for branch site browsers to consume?  Is there a reason to allow server compression for static content?
Taken from 4.2.1 release notes
Step 11 Check the Suppress server compression check box to configure the WAE to suppress server compression between the client and the server. The default setting is unchecked.
By checking this box, you are telling the WAE to remove the Accept-Encoding value from HTTP request headers, preventing the web server from compressing HTTP data that it sends to the client. This allows the WAE to apply its own compression to the HTTP data, typically resulting in much better compression than the web server for most files. For some file types that rarely change, such as .css and .js files, this setting is ignored and web server compression is allowed.

Hi ,
HTTP Metadata Cache feature will able to optimize only the local HTTP 301 , HTTP 401 and HTTP 304 request.
You  can use the HTTP professional software to indentify whether the  accessed website has HTTP header request of ( 301,401 and 304) ,  response time , Request sent, request received and local cache response  time.
If you are accessing the HTTPS website then should also enable HTTPS metadata cache feature.
You should clear your browser temporary files whenever you testing this so that you will able to get a exact output.
I hope below mentioned will give you a better idea.

  • Dynamic URL for Recv HTTP (Adapter spec attribute enabled)

    Hi,
    I need to have a dynamic URL for one of my cases been worked. the URL is
    httlp://:<host>/perform/XTA?serv=*&action=start
    the event "action" can accept either start/stop or restart. i wanna to control this dynamically and went for recv http enabled with adapter specific message attributes. here i had enabled the check box "URL" and in parameter 1 i had given the name as "action".
    in my message payload the "action" will be start/stop or restart which is handled by UDF for which the code is below:l
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey trig = DynamicConfigurationKey.create( "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP", "UrlParamOne");
    conf.put(trig,action);
    return "";
    this udf is mapped to the root node of the target...but when execute the case i get the following error
    "Dynamic Header - Missing Message Attributes: URL/HTTP Destination"
    when i execute the url
    httlp://:<host>/perform/XTA?serv=*&action=start
    in browser it works fine and also with fully qualified name in http recv works fine but not with dynamic settings.
    any help on it pls?

    Hi Prabhu,
    Enable Adapter-Specific Message Attributes(ASMA) in receiver HTTP channel.
    Dont enable checkboxes for "URL or HTTP Destination".
    Enable checkbox "Apply URL Parameters"
    for parameter1 textbox give value action

  • How to get info on whether the server is enabled and/or running,

    I'm posting this for a customer who  has been testing the capabilities of Business Intelligence Platform RESTful Web Service.
    We're currently at 4.1 SP2 Patch09. But it seems that we're not being able to get the information that we need. For example a call to http://myBIserver:6405/biprws/infostore/16/children is giving us information about servers such as name or description but  it is not telling us whether the server is enabled and/or running, what is the process ID etc.. The JSON response for the above request is:

    Hi Tom,
    As Anthony pointed out, currently it is not possible to get server details like the server state, PID etc. through BIP REST calls. Only prelimnary information about the infostore object is returned. You would need to use the BIP JAVA SDK to retrieve server details. However, we are in the process of enhancing BIP REST SDK. Can you please raise this on idea place under BIP>>SDK category?

  • HTTP delete method handling / enabling??

    Hi, I am a newbie to the WL world and wondering if there is any setup/config required on the weblogic server to enable the handling of HTTP DETELE method or does it all control/manage by the application? I understand web servers like Apache requires specific setup/scripts to handle the DELETE method. What about WebLogic Srvr?

    To enable delete, there must be "modify"permission
    given to the user account who has access to web
    application. By default "IUSR_machinename" windows
    account has anonymous access to web application in
    IIS. You must have to give "modify" permission to
    this acccount on the web application folder.
    That's it !!!!! You are ready to send HTTP DELETE
    requestsUmmmmmm. This seems a greatly dangerous and stupid
    solution!I mean this topic is completely out of scope for this forum and I know not a whole lot about IIS but it seems to me you just set it up so anyone can delete files from your website.
    Did you really want to do that?

  • Enabling HTTPS while SSH is enabled

    Hello
    I have enabled SSH on my 3750 switches and notice that https is not working. Iam not sure they are related but seems to be oddly coincidental.
    Therefore find it diffficult to monitor using CNA 5.7.6.
    configs are given below
    gvadc-sf01#sh run | i ip http
    ip http server
    ip http access-class 11
    ip http secure-server
    From my machine, i should normally have access to https running on the switch but isnt the case..
    Do I need to generate a new crypto key separately for https?
    Thanks for helping out on this..

    Hi
    It worked on the server farm devices bt i am unable to discover the core and the distribution devices.
    in the topology the core devices are seen but when i add them to the community , it fails.
    Attached is the snapshot.
    and the devices are reachable from the server

    Pinging 172.19.26.252 with 32 bytes of data:

    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

    I guess it is trying to connect on this IP address and pings fine.. but the moment i try to discover it fails. It could successfully discover the other devices but not the core and the distribution devices

  • How do I create a Https Proxy server

    Hi Varghese,
    Reading the thread I am able to make out u r facing the same problem as I do.
    current scenario#1:
    Machine#1 client (using URLConnection("https://...") ----> Machine#2 (Server https port)
    what I want scenario#2
    Machine#3 client (using URLConnection("https://...") ---> Machine#1 (Proxy for https)----> Machine#2 (Server https port)
    In scenario#1
    - I have a Client machine at Location#1 which can connect to on Location#2
    - I only have SSH connection to machine at Location#1
    now this scenario#2 is what I would like to run so that
    - I am able to connect to mc#2 at loc#2 from a machine at loc#3 with mc#3
    - effectively starting a https proxy at location number mc#1 at loc#1.

  • Run HTTP File Server on Mac OSX Lion Server?

    Hello!
    I have a Mac Mini running Mac OS X Lion Server.
    I would like to be able to host a Web Server that runs within the built in Apache server that allows the transfer of files from Client to Mac Mini HD and vice versa using authentication from Open Directory.
    My inspiration is HTTP File Server, or HFS (no, not the Disk Format). This, however, is a Windows Program. It allows a HTTP platform to upload and download files from the HD of the machine it is running from. It comes as a nifty .exe that has everything you need. I'd like something similar but to run on the Mac Server.
    Note, the upload and download cannot be done over FTP. It must be using HTTP like HFS does.
    At the very least, I'd like a HTTP (Port 80) Web Server that runs within Apache that allows upload and download to the HD.
    And at best, authentication using the built in Open Directory credentials. And to make even more secure, HTTPS or SSL.
    So it's like iCloud or iWork.com but using my own disk space and credentials.
    Predicted End Product:
    User visits https://192.168.x.x or https://MyDNSName.dns.com
    Greeted with Home Screen (.html or .php)
    Clicks login
    Has a nice login window to use (probably have to be .php to keep simple)
    Logs in using same credentials as they would to logon to Mac Mini locally
    Greeted with view of their files in their Directory, e.g.: /Library/Server/Web/HFS/User1 or /Library/Server/Web/HFS/User2, etc
    Can choose to download present files
    Or upload. Click Upload
    Upload window appears. Selects file on Client machine.
    Over HTTP, file is uploaded to Host Machine to /Library/Server/Web/HFS/User1
    What I'd like to know is what is the easiest way of going about this? Some kind of CMS like Wordpress or software like HFS?
    Many thanks,
    Clark

    I'm a little confused here... what's the requirement for HTTP based transfers vs. traditional file sharing protocols such as AFP?
    Secondly, how does 'HFS' differ from any other HTTP form-based uploader? Any web CGI or scripting system such as PHP or Perl could easily present an upload form.
    Have you considered WebDAV, which is designed as s file transfer protocol over HTTP?
    It integrates at the Finder level, meaning you can copy files by simply dragging and dropping file (and folder) icons in the desktop, just like on a local drive. It's part of the standard Mac OS X Apache installation, too.

    working with this setting, however if we use HR_KW_CONT (storage type=03 SAP System database) , above mentioned functionalities work. We observed that xml files required for TREX search are also not getting created when we change the settings.
    2) We observed that when we change the storage type the indexing job is successful but application log shows some failures in reading/modifying xml files
    Please let me know what are the settings/ procedure to use a different storage type instead of standard setting delivered with the product. Anything related to the setting for above requirement

    Hi All,
    I may have a similary problem but I'm not entirely sure.
    I have been tasked with setting up a simple java servlet to authenticate against a BOXI (Business Objects) server, from my tomcat server (tomcat 5.5) on my windows XP  desk top machine. I will add more info on this shortly.
    I have been supplied with a krb5.ini file and the bscLogin.conf file as follows:

  • Which media server protocols enable frame accurate seeking and frame stepping in players?

    Hi,
    ... and thank you in advance for taking the time to respond. I am evaluating different protocls for different client platforms, and I'd like to know the following...
    Which media server protocols enable frame accurate seeking and frame stepping in players? (It appears that RTMP does. However, what about HDS? What about HLS?)
    Why is it that some do and some don't? (Intuitively, this would seem to be more an issue of the player than the protocol, but then maybe it has something to do with the buffers and the specific information passed to the client.)
    For those protocols that do support frame accurate seeking and frame stepping in players, does the addition of Access DRM protection have any effect? (Intuitively, I would say no, but then maybe there are configuration changes needed in AMS to make it work.)
    Thanks!

    I searched for a DVD player with a jog shuttle -- and you're right. They're all but impossible to find! I havent' found one made in the past 5 years!
    I don't know of any way you could accomplish the same thing with software either.
    Most DVD players have slow-motion and frame-by-frame features. (Even my cheap $40 Toshiba.) That may be the closest to it.

  • Http content server

    hello,
    I want to create manually the KPro-metadata for documents. do you knwo which tables (like SDOKSTCA) I have to consider and make entries?
    the next step is to migrate still existing documents on a sap http content server into the sap kpro and sap dvs.
    which steps I have to made? which fm´s tables do I need?
    is there any documentation in the web for this topic?

    Check out this online help.

  • Decompress files in HTTP Content Server

    Hello,
    I have a problem with the consistency of files stored in HTTP content server. That is to say I have an inconsistency between the object and content of the linked file.
    I have a controller program for consistency but I do not know how to decompress.
    The files in the content server are compressed with CSCompress (I think). Is there a possibility to decompress  this files ?
    Tank you.
    Michel

    Hi Michel,
    Conerning your questions regarding the possibility to decompress the
    files outside the SAP system, I'm afraid this is not possible. The
    document files are stored in a compressed format. Even if you managed
    to extrace the files from the tables, their content still remains
    compressed. In other words, you still have to rely on SAP Content
    Server's decompression logic to generate the original content. The only
    way to retrieve the files, therefore, is by using the SAP Content
    Server HTTP Interface.

  • Store archiving IDoc's to an HTTp content server

    Hi Guru's,
       I want to store the archived IDoc's to an HTTP content server.
    i have created an content server on OAC2 and i dont know how to link the archived IDocs to an HTTp content server.
    I searched many forums, but i cant get the exact solution for this.
    Could anyone help me on this..  pls...
    Thanks in advance,
    murugan..

    Hello,
    I will take a final call on this - As i understand all the configuration is correct but not updating in link tables.
    I also understand system Id is ok as PO and IDoC are working.
    In Content repository creation for PO & IDoC you will be taking document area as Data Archiving but for Printlist content repo you have to select ArchiveLink.
    If you have done above then check connectivity and send the certificate
    In your Archive server (IXOS, EASY, DOCUMENTUM or so on ) Check same content repository is properly configured.. if possible refresh it. Check for certification from SAP.
    You are facing connectivity issue so cross check carefull all archive server level.
    Lastly check oss note
    Let us hope for the best.
    -Thanks,
    Ajay.

  • Http content Server - putCert specification

    Hello,
    I am trying to develop a HTTP Content server for connection with SAP but I encounter difficulties while implementing security.
    The methode putCert stores the certificate from SAP but it seems like it is a X509 v1 certificate and not a V3. like mentionned in the spec doc
    Moreover SHA1 seem to be used and not MDS.
    Is there any particular reason?
    Thank you

  • HTTP Web Server

    Hi!
    I have to make an http web server: in a browser, I write http://ServerName:port/file and the browser must display the file. The only problem now seems to be that I changed
    This line gets the OutputStream of the client socket
    out = new PrintWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(scliente.getOutputStream(),"8859_1"),true) ;And this thing sends the response to the browser:
    out.println("HTTP/0.9 200 ok");
                    out.println("Server: Nombre del Servidor/1.0");
                    out.println("Date: " + new Date());
                    out.println("Content-Type: text/html");
                    out.println("Content-Length: " + file.length());
                    out.println(System.getProperty("line.separator"));
                    BufferedReader localFile= new BufferedReader(new FileReader(archivo));
                    String line= "";
                    do
                        line = localFile.readLine();
                        if (line != null )
                            // sleep(500);
                            out.println(line);
                    while (linea!= null);The thing is... That didn't work for displaying images and other file types, which is why I changed the previous code to:
    out = scliente.getOutputStream();And the other part to:
    byte[] contenido;
                    int tamano;
                    escribirEnCliente("HTTP/1.1 200 ok");
                    escribirEnCliente("Server: Nombre del Servidor/1.0");
                    escribirEnCliente("Date: " + new Date());
                    escribirEnCliente("Content-Type: " + new MimetypesFileTypeMap().getContentType(archivo));
                    escribirEnCliente("Content-Length: " + archivo.length());
                    FileInputStream archivoLocal = new FileInputStream(archivo);
                    tamano = archivoLocal.available();
                    contenido = new byte[tamano];
                    do
                      tamano = archivoLocal.read(contenido);
                      out.write(contenido);
                    while (tamano != -1);escribir en cliente is a procedure like this:
    public void escribirEnCliente(String str)
                out.write(str.getBytes("8859_1"));
    }This way, I thought, I could send all types of files, not only text files. But it doesn't work, it doesn't even load the page. Any suggestions?

    ...and in your do/while loop think what happens when read() does return -1. You still write the entire buffer. You should do something like this instead:
        while (true) {
            int count = in.read(buf);
            if (count == -1)
                break;
           out.write(buf, 0, count);
        }

  • Compression with HTTP Remote Server

    We are using the remote capabilities and are transferring objects that
    have large amounts of data - is it possible to use compression if we are
    using the HTTP Remote Server? Since this is fairly important as
    performance is a critical issue for us, I'm willing to do some work to get
    it working. If not, are there plans to include compression support?
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Charles

    Charles-
    We do plan on including options for compression and encryptions in the
    future, but for the time being, you would have to implement something on
    your own. The transport for the remote PM is pluggable interface. See:
    http://docs.solarmetric.com/manual.html#ref_guide_remotepm_server
    Basically, you would implement com.solarmetric.remote.Transport (see
    http://docs.solarmetric.com/javadoc/com/solarmetric/remote/Transport.html),
    or subclass one of the existing ones.
