Top 10 against several measure values

Hi ,
I am trying to display TOP 10 cost elements (measure) against a Year dimension .
Is it possible to , calculate a TOPN filter among these different measures .
For example , there are 100 cost elements , out of which , I have to display TOP 10 cost elements in a bar chart .

Hi ,
Yes ,but in my scenario , I have several cost elements , i.e. measures (construction cost , labour cost etc .) against a Year dimesion (2011,2012 etc.) .
Year
2011 2012
Cost's
construction cost 1200 1500
labour cost 200 300
Now , I have to display TOP10 of " Cost's " in year 2011 ,2012 .
Let me know , in case of further clarification .

  • Set top and bottom inset spacing values in Text Frame Options via jsx script

    I am looking for a way to set the top and bottom inset spacing values only to 2 points in Text Frame Options via a .jsx scrpt.
    For years, I have used a script that sets Preferences, such as:
    with(app.storyPreferences){
        opticalMarginAlignment = false;
        opticalMarginSize = 12;                // pts
    I would like to add the code to this same script that would make Top = 0p2 and Bottom 0p2 but leave Left and Right as 0p0.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is the full .jsx file that we now use to set preferences.
    Ideally, this could be modified to include setting any text frame created to have 0p2 inset Top and Bottom, but 0p0 Left and Right:

  • Need Reports  in decrreasing order on the basis of measure value

    Got ASO Cube (3 dimensions) and have some records on it.
    Product/Enity/Measure
    Prod1 ent1 678
    prod2 ent1 700
    prod3 ent1 500
    when i retrive reports ,
    Can i able to get a reports in the decreasing order on the basis of Measure values like below ? (using any code or scripts)
    Prod2 ent1 700
    Prod1 ent1 678
    prod3 ent1 500

    If you are using the classic addin or report scripts, you can get the values in decreasing order. To do it in the add-in you can either use freeform with a report script or better yet, use the query designer to create and save the report. IF you are using a report script, you can set a sort descending and also a top x to only bring back a certain number of members. I'm not sure if the same is available through smartview. Using MDX you can do a topcount function

  • MDX OLAP Universe does not allow for a Top 10 rank on measure.

    Hello!
    I am trying to Rank a measure by Top 10 in count on a MDX OLAP universe based on Web Intelligence. The rank works, however for all the zeros in the row values it gives the same rank and keeps on appending. I then tried to rank a measure with the MDX syntax in the SELECT statement of the measure itself. The syntax is as below:
    <EXPRESSION>Rank([0MATERIAL__0MATL_GROUP].[LEVEL01].CurrentMember,
    Order([0MATERIAL__0MATL_GROUP].[LEVEL01].CurrentMember.Level.Members
    @Select(Exp Dem (Published)\Exp Dem (Published)),
    @Prompt(u2018Top orBottomu2019,u2019Nu2019,{u2018DESCu2019,u2019ASCu2019},mono,constrained) ) )</EXPRESSION>
    The XML is parsed because of the tags, however when using this measure in the query panel gives an error message for the prompt. Is there a way to rank a measure by Top 10 in the MDX statement above instead of the prompt for the Top/Bottom. I found the syntax in the OLAP Best practices guide.
    Kindly revert for any possible solution. Any inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Vivek.
    P.S.: I am specifically looking to Rank multiple measures by Top 10 count without displaying zeros / repetetive values.

    Hi Ingo!
    Thank you for responding! I have gone through the OLAP Universe best practices as suggested by the guide. However, the Ranking has an offset of repeating the ranks for same value metrics. So if I need a Top 10 and there are 3 zero values in the column, the ranking extends to Top 13. is there any way to hardcode this as a predefined filter in the Universe on the measure, which states that the rank stays limited to Top 10 irrespective of repeating values?
    Kindly suggest if there is a work around for this!
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Vivek.

  • SSRS report connecting SSAS 2014 cube not returning measure value

    Hi all
    Recently we migrated SSAS from 2008r2 to 2014 in Dev environment. when we are testing  SSRS reports which are connecting to that cube is having issue. the measure value is returning as [Measures].[LSM Count] instead of numeric value.
    when we connect to old cube in prod environment the report is working as expected and even the mdx query is working fine in  Management studio of new cube.  what would be the issue.

    Surendra Thota

    Hi Surendra_Thota,
    According to your description, there are SSRS reports with SSAS data source, after you migrated SSAS from 2008 R2 to 2014, the measure value returned string instead of numeric value.
    I tried to reproduce the issue in my local machine of SQL Server 2014, but it works fine for me. As a workaround, please modify the query like below:
    SELECT
    NON EMPTY
    [Measures].[Internet Order Quantity],
    [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]
    } ON COLUMNS,
    NON EMPTY
    [Customer].[Education].[Education].ALLMEMBERS *
    [Customer].[Home Owner].[Home Owner].ALLMEMBERS
    ) } ON ROWS
    FROM [Adventure Works]
    If the problem remain unresolved, i would appreciate it if you could sample data and screenshot of the report, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.
    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • How to convert a measure value to null when the actual measure value is 0

    Hello Gurus,
    I have year, products, measure 1, measure 2, measure 3. I am added three products into one category by using bin in the analysis i am getting zeros for some of the measure cells when it should be null values, because the actual measure values are null for indivudual product. How can i convert that 0's to null. Please advise.
    Thanks,
    RC

    To answer your immediate question, you can write this:
    CASE WHEN table.column = 0 THEN NULL ELSE table.column END
    Remember though, that any aggregations done on a record that is NULL will not yield a sum. That is why the usual case is to convert NULLs to 0s. But that may not be a concern for what you are doing. Good luck!

    If you create a metadatatype with a single metdata block, and you reference that in your vm/cm cell attribute using a *one* based index, Excel seems to see the link and it honors it when saving the spreadsheet.
    So, I ended up with something like:
    <c ... cm="1"/> (I'm dealing with cell metadata, but the concept is equivalente to value metadata)
    <metadataTypes count="1">
      <metadataType name="MyMetaType" .../>
    </metadataTypes>
    <futureMetadata count="1" name="MyMetaType">
      <bk>
        <extLst><ext
    uri="http://example" xmlns:x="http://example"><x:val>87</x:val></ext></extLst>
      </bk>
    </futureMetadata>
    <cellMetadata count="1">
      <bk><rc
    t="1" v="0"/></bk> <!-- this is what gets referenced as cm=1 on the cell -->
    </cellMetadata>
    Hope this helps.

  • Credit Note to be adjusted against sales order value

    Hi Experts,
    The scenario is as follows:
    a. Customer is having credit note(balance) in SAP CRM
    b. In subsequent order the credit note value to be adjusted against the order value
    c. Customer is advance payment only
    d. The sales order value to be calculated after deducting the credit note for order for payment

    Hi Mukesh,
    I think you want to adjust the value of the sales order based on the credit note issued to the customer or advance payment. The credit note will result in a AR posting and hence should not be used for adjusting the sale order value. That adjustment will happen in AR anyway.
    The advance payment can be stored in a condition of the sales order and can be used for adjusting the sales order value basically to reduce the AR. You will have to manipulations in pricing to get the right AR, Revenue and Advance payment postings.
    Let me know if you want more details as I am not 100% clear about your issue.
    Thanks
    Ashish

  • Display -ve Measure Values in Horizontal Bar Chart on right hand side or in bar

    In OBIEE I have an issue where the negative measure values in a horizontal bar chart are displayed on the left and overlap with the Y axis values, how do I force these values to be displayed on the right or in the bar itself ? The measure values are set to always on, hoverover cannot be the solution

    Hi,
    It should not be overlapped. If you are using horizontal bar then 0 will come in center. It should show structure like:
    |
    |
    |
    |
    |
    |-------------------------------------------------
         -4     -2     0     2     4
    May I know in your report, how it is looking and what is your requirement.
    Thanks

  • Hiding measure values line chart

    Hie Guys,
    I have a line chart with measure object "X" and dimension "Month". Now, the measure values are going to be zero for all previous months. I do not want those zero values to be displayed in the line chart. Is there a way to do this in Webi? I tried to create a variable to substitute Measure object X.
    Variable = If (Measure Object =0) Then "" Else Measure Object. This did not work as the chart only takes measures and the variable is text. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

    Jeewan, Consider this as sample data.
    Now create three variables....
    Month 1 = [M1] Where ([M1]<>0)
    Month 2 = [M2] Where ([M2]<>0)
    Month 3 = [M3]  Where ([M3]<>0)
    Now your data will be
    Right Click on it. Turn into Line Chart. Finally your output is as you required.

  • Measures values are twice as big compare to corresponding fact table

    The version used is SQL Server 2012
    We have a CustomerAddressKey in fact tables with many partitions and Regular Dimension Usage between fact table and CustomerAddress dimension. As we do not process all partitions every day sometimes we encounter the issue when users see the old address for
    a particular player.
    We have played with 2 approaches: Referenced Dimension Usage and modification of CustomerAddress view when only current (latest) address is available.
    After we build and process Referenced Dimension Usage version using CustomerAddress as Reference Dimension  and Customer as Intermediate dimension and CustomerAddressKey and CurrentCustomerAddressKey.
    Everything is OK besides that the measures value for any slice is twice as big as corresponding fact table value.
    What did we do wrong?

    There are a couple of ways that data can get duplicated in SSAS
    One is incorrectly running multiple ProcessAdd operations. ProcessAdd always appends data. So if you run it twice with the same set of rows you end up with duplicate fact rows in your cube. The way to fix this is to run a ProcessFull on the affected partition/s.
    The other common thing that can duplicate data is issues with your data and / or schema. The following is just psuedo code, the join conditions should be the same as you've specified in your DSV. If you run these two styles of SQL queries over your raw data
    and they return different amounts then you probably have a problem with the way you have populated the data in your reference dimension table.
    SELECT SUM( <measure column> )
    FROM <fact table>
    SELECT SUM( <measure column> )
    FROM <fact table>
    INNER JOIN <reference dim>
    ON ...
    INNER JOIN <CustomerAddress dimesion>
    ON ...

  • Several single value selection in InfoPackage Data selection using Routine

    Hi,
    I am trying to extract data from a table(containing Ticket data) in R/3 using Generic extractor with table. As the table is not supporting the delta functionality i have to do daily full load for more than 5 lak records.
    I dont want all the tickets from R/3, i just need the tickets which are open. Unfortunately there is no field in R/3 table which indicates Ticket status. But in BW i have a DSO where i can get the tickets along with their status.
    Now what i want to do is:
    in the Infopackage i want to give the dataselection for ticket, whose status is open which will be calculated in ABAP code by lookup to the DSO. Is this possible?
    I know that in ABAP routine for Data selection we can give single values and range values. but here i just want to give several single values. That means if suppose i have 4 tickets T1,T2,T3,T4 in the DSO and if T1 and T4 are open tickets, then i have to get the data from R/3 just for T1 and T4.
    in the above case if we use range then the low and high values in the range will be T1 and T4 respectively and the data pulled from R/3 will be from T1 - T4 ie all T1,T2,T3 & T4. but i need just T1 and T4.
    Please share your ideas. also please send the code as i am not an ABAPer.
    If Several single value selection is not possible at least send the code for the range values.
    Thanks,
    Cnu.

    you can write a code like this in the ABAP routine in data selection in front of ticket characteristic
    types: Begin of s_ticket,
         ticket type <type of ticket characterisitcs>,
          End of s_ticket.
    data: l_idx like sy-tabix,
          wa_ticket type s_ticket,
          it_ticket type standard table of s_ticket,
          l_s_range type rsrdrange.
    You can declare
    read table l_t_range with key
         fieldname = '<your field name for ticket>'.
    l_s_range-infoobject = '<infoobject name>'.
    l_s_range-fieldname = '<field name of ticket cahracteristics>'.
    l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
    l_s_range-option = 'EQ'.
    select * from <ODS active table> into table it_ticket where status = <value for open status>.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
         loop at it_ticket into wa-ticket.
              l_s_range-low = wa_ticket-ticket.
              append l_s_range to l_t_range.
         endloop.
    end if.
    p_subrc = 0.
    you need to modify it as per your requirements, i hope this might help you.

  • How to convert pixel Measurment values to real world cordinate systems ( 2D & 3D)

    Hello  All
    I am very new to Image processing and I stuck in a position where i have to convert the pixel measurement value in the real world X,Y,Z  coordinates, and after then that value can be send to the robot arm.
    For more understanding i have attached the image of my VI and also the Labview VI, you can also suggest if something more is missing then what i already did
    I need help to solve this problem, as i already mentioned i am very new to image processing so answer in a simple explanations would be appreciated

    Hello,
    I would like to help you with this topic.
    I have one question: have you tried to run the VI with highlight mode or with probes to see what happens step by step?
    Concerning the broken wire, as far as I can see it, its just the dimensions of the output array which does not fit.
    The data is an array of the dimension 2 but you connected an array with dimension 1.
    So LabVIEW will not run the VI, I posted a screenshot with the new Array in the BD. As you can see, the wire now has two lines instead of one.
    You can always add suitable FP indicators by right-clicking -> create -> indicator.
    Please let me know if this is useful for you.
    I am looking forward to hearing from you!
    Have a nice day,

    Hi Jansi
    yes i did read that blog but i think that is not my problem
    my issue is that before i can even set the filter i have vendors with measure values = 0
    i would imagine there is a  way the when i perform the 'Apply Timeframe' button and then perform te 'start analysis for the selected key figure' the values for the selection criteria are return
    note that i have not selected the Chart dimesnions filters yet
    its anylsis is returning measure values which 0 as part of the return
