If I have a solution I always try to mark it, and if a user's issue is solved is should be marked by them. All users, including new users could help out by doing so. Is there a reminder that could be added added for all users to mark the issue resolved?
Like under FIOS TV Technical assistance where we have "Severe weather information for our FiOS customers, click here.
Perhaps another small line that says "Do not forget to Click the Accepted Solution when you have a solution."
Just an idea. I know this is not the best place to put it.
Thank you for the recognition
Mark

  • TS1506 This is not an acceptable solution. Apple please fix this issue. I can't ask my customers to change the format of an email. Seriously?

This is not an acceptable solution. I cannot ask my customers to change the formatting of their email. Please fix this.

Is it coming through as a winmail.dat file ? If it is then you could try one of the winmail.dat apps from the store and see if that works with it.
Or is it coming through as a PDF but isn't downloading, opening or displaying correctly ? If so then is just the one PDF, all PDFs, from one sender ? Have you tried closing the Mail app via the taskbar and seeing if the PDF opens/displays when you re-open the app ? From the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

  • I cracked my IPad 3 that I got in April 2012, and I cracked it bad. What can I do? Please help'

I cracked my IPad 3 64 GB in the top left corner with a line across the top half of the screen back in April 2012, a few days after I got it. But yesterday, my dog stepped on it and completely shattered the top white part of the IPad. The glass has actually chipped off, and now there is a big hole next to the camera. The IPad still works perfectly fine, in fact I'm on it right now, but the only thing is that the camera is a little fuzzy. I'm not sure what to do. I bought the IPad through apple.com in April 2012 and its been engraved with my name on it. I cracked it for the first time a few days after I got it, don't judge, and now it's a really really really bad crack. I googled what to do if you have a hole in your IPad, and didn't find anything, so hopefully someone can help me! I really don't want have to pay another $700 to replace the IPad, and my school uses them so my IPad is super important. I don't remember if I have any insurance on the IPad, but is there like an automatic warranty if you bought it within the last year, and it's your first offense? Thanks so much!!!!!!

    Hi Agutta,
If you bought AppleCare for your iPad, then it has coverage for 2 incidents of accidental damage - $49 to repair. If you did not purchase AppleCare, you can take it into the nearest Apple Store to find out what the repair cost would be, or call Apple Support.
Here's a link to the AppleCare site:

Sorry about your accident! Hope it gets resolved....

  • Message Tags, Kudos, and Accepted Solutions

The Toshiba Forums feature a few ways to make it easier for forum users to find messages of the greatest interest to them by allowing forum members to add information about messages in the form of tags, Kudos, and Accepted Solutions.
    Tags
Tags are any words that help to describe what a message is about.  Each message can have many tags associated with it, and any logged-in forum member can create tags for any message.  Searches in the forums also look at tags when looking for messages to match search terms, so tagging messages increases the value of the messages for all forum members.
Also, as you navigate through most screens of the forums, there will be a "Top Tags" area on the right side of the page.  This tag 'cloud' displays tags that are relevant for your current context within the forums.  Larger font tag terms indicate that a tag is used many times in the current area of the forums, while smaller font tag terms are used infrequently.
To add tags to a message, just click on the red 'Add Tag...' button at the bottom of the message.
    Kudos
Kudos are a way for forum members to express appreciation for any message that they find particularly helpful, informative, or insightful.  Any forum member can give Kudos to any messages, but only one Kudo per message can be given by each forum member.
Each message displays the number of Kudos that have been given to it, so looking at the Kudos count is one way that forum users can identify particularly useful messages.  Also note that the total number of Kudos given in to all messages in a thread appears when you select a message board and view its list of threads.
To add your Kudos to a message, click on the red partial-star Kudos image to the left of each message.
    Accepted Solutions
Many threads will be all about describing and finding solutions for various types of problems that people encounter when using their computers and consumer electronics gear.  The 'Accepted Solutions' feature provides a method for forum members who start threads to indicate when a reply has supplied a solution to the problem that had been experienced.  Each thread can have only one Accepted Solution and only the thread originator (and forum admin staff) can designate a message as an Accepted Solution for the thread.
Messages selected as Accepted Solutions will have a graphical badge indicating that status, and the original message in the thread will include a link to jump down to the Accepted Solution.
The Tags, Kudos, and Accepted Solutions features are provided to help forum users find the best of the best information here in the forums.  Please use them as often as you find appropriate.

That's on purpose - sometimes people come up with the right answer on their own, and accepting that as the right solution helps others to find it as well.

  • Iphone 4s error -1, purchased in April 2012 in the US...now I am in Greece and cannot get it repaired as it was purchased in the US and it is still under warranty.

    Hi,
I purchased my iphone 4s in April 2012 in the US and after doing an update it now has error -1 and after many calls with techinicians nothing will fix it. I want to send it in for repair as it is still under warranty but I now live in Greece and I have been told that I cannot send it in as I do not have a US address for the replacement. There is no apple store in Greece and I have been to the authorised reseller here and they cannot help me as it is was purchased in the US.
    What can I do????????

The warranty is NOT international. You will need to take it back to the US or send it to someone you know there to take it in for service.  Apple will not accept an international shipment for service.

im not sure what to do next - can anyone help?
    im running OSX 10.7.4

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • 1st April 2012 problem

When I try to create an all day event on 1 Apr 12 on my iPad, the length of the event is automatically converted to two days long. When I edit the event, it remains at two days long.
I changed my regional settings in order to change the first day of the week, with no success (problem still occurs on 1st April 2012).
The 1st July 2012 also falls on a Sunday but does not suffer the same problem.
This problem occurs on my iPad, iPhone and a friends iPhone which all run iOS 5.0.1.
Does anyone else have this problem and therefore is it a bug with the calendar app in this iOS?

Yeah, it's a bug and it was there last year also.  You're located in Australia or New Zealand or some place else where Daylight Savings Time ends on April 1.  The bug is that April 1 is only 23 hours long but an "all day" event is 24 hours so it spills over into the next day!
    Cheers!

All - it magically worked during the weekly scheduled inventory run. Perhaps some database updates hadn't taken place yet.

  • Using Accepted Solutions!

    The
NI Discussion Forums has a new feature, the ability to mark a particular reply
as the solution to your question!
    Marking
a solution allows other users to quickly and easily:
    Identify the particular reply
    that answers a question
    See which threads have been
    answered while browsing a board
    Find messages while searching
    that are solutions
    When
you mark a reply as a solution to your question, the thread is marked as
"Solved" () and you can click on the "Go to Solution" icon to
jump directly to the accepted solution:
    Best
    practices:
    If many users contributed to
the solution, be sure to give them Kudos for helping!
Usually you will mark a reply
from another user as a solution - only mark your own reply if you have
provided the solution to your question.
If you mark the wrong reply
as a solution or a better solution emerges, you can unmark the solution
from the Options menu.  You can
unmark a solution at any time.
    Have a new question? Remember
to start a new thread! This will help other users see your new question
and allow you to mark the appropriate reply as the solution.  Only one solution can be marked per
    thread.
I hope that you find this new feature useful!

  • Accepted solutions: mark a reply as the right answ...

    Hi all,
we have just added a new feature called "accepted solutions" to these boards.
It means that anyone who starts a new topic is able to mark any given answer as the correct solution. This helps other people who have the same question to find the right answer faster.
All topics that have an accepted solution will be shown with a small icon, and the first post will have a quick link to the solution.
Note that you can do this also with any old topics that you have started. So if you remember any particularly helpful answers from the past, feel free to visit those topics and mark the right answer as the solution.
Solutions will not have any effect on your ranks (sage, professor etc.) but we may come up with new ranks in the future for people who have written a lot of solutions.
Moderators and administrators are also able to mark solutions, but we will not do that systematically (e.g. no-one from Nokia is officially going through and validating any answers).
However, we can mark a topic solved when it's clear from a "thank you"-reply that this was the right answer (starting from today, so please don't PM us a list of your existing answers )
I hope you will find this useful! This is a new thing for us so we don't really know how it will work out - but it seems like a great little feature.
