Total in 3i Viewer

Hi!,
In My workbook i have defined totals on columns. They appear properly in the workbooks when viewed from the user edition, but when viewed from Viewer 3i, totals are not appearing. In preferences the
attributes of total are set as default.
Can anybody help me on this?

are you currently running on 3i Viewer version 3.3.59? Are these single row subtotals that are not showing correctly when using the Viewer?

Grand total in Pivot view in OBIEE

Hi
I have a requirement to show a particulra report in a pivot view whereby I have to keep the yearly values in the "ROWS" portion and the monthly capex values in the "Measures" portion.
The problem is when I am using the grand total functionality, the grand total is coming only for the monthly values which have kept in the "Measures" and not for the yearly capex values in Rows portion even though the aggregation rule is set as "sum".
I have to show the grand total for the yealy capex value as well.

About Grand Total in Tabular view report

Hi All,
I am working on a tabular report view. While working grand total on few columns, the title "Grand Total" is appearing below the very first column of report. Is any way to set the location of this title below any other column?
One more thing on which i need guidance, I have a calculated column(simply sum of two fact values) and i want to keep away this column from my grand total listed columns. For this i tried to set aggregation rule NULL but it did not work(In such case report column showing nothing. may be null values are coming in this case). I have also tried to CAST the fact numeric columns to CHAR. But it also did not work.
Could you please suggest me a way to do this. I am using OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 version.

I am working on a tabular report view. While working grand total on few columns, the title "Grand Total" is appearing below the very first column of report. Is any way to set the location of this title below any other column?You can simply try to format the heading here..by using some left padding and marking the horizontal alignement as centre or something. Play with formatting here..

How to sort column totals in pivot view

Hello guys
I have a report in pivot view where I have put call type on the column section. So the report looks like below with SUM applied at the column section:

EMy question, how do I sort the data in 'TOTAL' field? The challenge it seems is that since 'TOTAL' isn't a table column, but just a display of pivot Sum, it can't be sorted H-L or L-H..
But I'd like to have some advice from you guys before I make my conclusion

You can't have the sorting on the total in Pivot table.
On a workaround,
you can create a column in the criteria which calculate the sum
SUM(sales_total by ID)Assign sorting order on this column
You can exclude this column in the pivot table

Hi,
You told that you need to do manipulation on grand total so,add dummy columns and put grand total calculations on them and do manipulations on them to get manipulated value.
Do you want to show manipulated values in narrative view?

Conditional formatting of Totals in Pivot view

Hallo all,
Am I able to format the totals based on some condition in version 11.1.1.6.6?
I found some tutorials for older versions however the report XML has changed since then.
I tried lots of variations but none of them worked as expected.

How to calculate the total of a calculated column in a list view at the end of the view?

I have a view with the following columns ProductName, Quantity, Price, Total The total column is a calculated column which is the product of quantity and price. I want to place the sum of the total column by the end of the list view. I can do this with
the price and quantity but not with the total column. how do I do this?

Control wrap (linefeed) in viewer

I have found that embedding a CHR(10) into a text field in Discoverer Plus makes a very nicely formatted column with word wrap turned on. This is very useful if you are displaying an address, list of phone #'s, etc.
Problem: it works fine in Plus, but is totally ignored in Viewer. In viewer it just runs on and wraps whenever the column width is exhausted. Is there any way to force a new line in a Viewer wrapped cell?

Hi,
Viewer shows the data as html in the page and so all white space is ignored.
You could look at changing the viewer templates by changing the .uit files in the discoverer/templates directory on the server to change the html style (style="white-space:pre") for the cells changing the white space attribute so that white space is displayed on the page.
You can search this site for viewer config and viewer templates for details on how to change the viewer setup, but this is not a supported change and you would have to return the template files to their original state to be supported.

When Requested for a Grand Total the column values changes to zeroes

Hi,
I have a report with 2 dimensions and 4 facts. The report is showing the correct data when compared with EBS, but when we are applying grand total in Table View then for fact values are displaying zeroes. However the grand total is correct but for some dimensions the measures are displaying zeroes.
At this point i have modified the Aggregation rule of 1 measure from Default to SUM and when i clicked results Wonder, i can see grand total and the zeroes were replaced with actual values. When i have compared logical queries before applying the aggregation and after, the measure is surrounded with function REPORT_AGGREGATE and REPORT_SUM respectively.
Can anyone explain me why is this behavior occurred, i got the solution but i am not in stage to explain to client why it happened.
Kindly help and i will make sure it is definitely marked.

Use the Subtotal function instead of the Sum function for all totals.
The Subtotal function ignores other Subtotal functions in the column you are summing.
Your three "Sum" functions would look something like...

Rotate view tool over mouse center?

Hello all!
As the subject states - is there a way to use rotate view tool so that it's center of rotation is on the mouse / cursor location?
I have tried different key command combinations and no go. If this is not possible at this point, then I would love to have that as a feature! It would be SO much more efficient and much less frustrating.
I hate having the rotation center in the center of the window rather than where I am painting. Now, if there is an option to do this somewhere then please disregard my rant.

No, I don't mean that you wouldn't be using a mouse to do so- of course, you would be using the mouse. I am just simply saying that when you rotate the image using the rotate view tool, it doesn't spin the canvas around the point of the mouse, it spin's it as you said around the image window's center. That's all I'm saying.
To me it would be much faster if it were to have an option to spin around the mouse's center because, as I mentioned before, try working on a zoomed in corner of your image and then when zoomed in and in that corner of the document, use the rotate view tool, because you want to get a better angle for painting in that corner area of the zoomed in image. Spin the image 45 deg and see what happens.
The area you were just working on is now totally out of view and you either zoom out to find the area again and pan back to center that location and zoom back in to continue working on it or pan around to find and center it again. Either way, that stinks in comparison to just rotate the view based on either your last mouse click or where you mouse is at the moment.

Datasheet view "lists.asmx" timeout

Hi,
Im currently trying to help a client with an issue regarding a large list and datasheet view. Everything works as expected until the view contains more than one SPFieldType.User.
The list contains 9000 items (~5000 items per folder) and the view is shown in a "flat view" so all items are visible.
There is about 10-15 fields (text, currency, note, calculated fields) in total and the view opens up in datasheet view but only the first 100 or so items are loaded. After 120 seconds an error is displayed (Could not connect to the server at this time).
Fiddler2 shows the POST requests to load items from the list using Lists.asmx GetListitems method, this call lasts about 30 seconds and then "fails". Since the request wasn't returned within the 30 seconds the same call is made again. This goes
on until the 120 second mark is hit.
IS there a way to increase the timeout for this call to Lists.asmx to last more than 30 seconds ?
Or is it possible to improve the performance regarding people fields ?
- Have increased connectionTimeout in IIS
- Have checked the database fragmentation level
- Item Threshold increased to 12 000

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to enlarge the web service timeout value to handle large data.
We can set the web service timeout value like below:
WebReference.ProxyClass myProxy = new WebReference.ProxyClass();
//Set the timeout in milliseconds - e.g. 100 seconds
myProxy.Timeout = 10000;
