Total Number of Pages with page exception

Hi all,
Currently a have a form that requires a page number to start on the second page. I've done this via DAL script
#PCOUNT +=1;
return(#PCOUNT);
The problem now lies in the total number of pages. Is there a way for me to get the total number of pages on my form without taking the first page into consideration? Thanks!

Haven't tried this but I think you could use the @ function to retrieve the Form Page Num Of field value.

Use this function to return the current value contained in a section field. The @ function is also called the get field function. The @ symbol is used because it is easy to recognize in script statements and it reduces the amount of typing required.
You can use this function to get text values from the special page numbering fields, FORMSET PAGE NUM, FORMSET PAGE NUM OF, FORM PAGE NUM, and FORM PAGE NUM OF.
Note
Although you can also set these page numbering fields, these fields are maintained by the system and the value you set them to will be overwritten.
You can also use this function to get page number field values within scripts that execute during the batch printing process. You can use this, for instance, during the Banner processing with the GenPrint program to check the page number fields on certain pages.
Keep in mind that during GenData processing, page numbering is not usually done unless you are also doing single-step printing. Even then, page numbering does not occur until the print process begins.

For these examples, assume the current field value is 1234.23 and is named MyField. Also, assume that a second occurrence of MyField appears on the form, MyForm, and contains the value automobile.
For the third example, assume the current form is the third page of the form set being processed. For the fourth example, assume the section Header3 is on the second page of the form ABC.

Printing Grand Totals in Footer along with page total

Hi
I have a report which prints PO Header and PO Lines. For each page while iterating thru PO Lines I print page total in the footer.
Once all PO Lines are printed with page totals in the footer of each page, I want to print Grand total in the last page in the footer along with last page total. Currently my XML data has pre-computed grand total in the PO Header block.
The problem
I have wrapped header and lines inside <?start:body?> and <?end:body?> which allows me to print page totals outside the <?end:body?> tag.
I print page totals and "Continue" next to it in the footer. But
Finally when grand total comes into picture in the outer loop I want to replace "Continue" text with grand total value in the last page and print it as footer.
I tried to use xdoxlt:set_variable() function to flag a variable value to 1 when iteration happens in HEADER block and set it to 2 in inner loop of lines block. But the scope of the variable is confined between <?start:body?> and < ?end:body? and is not visible outside the <?end:body?> tag.
The logic I want to accomplish is
if var = 1 then
print page total and "Continue"
elsif var = 2 then
print page total and Grand Total.
end if
This logic doest work as the value of var is not visible outside the body tag.
I want to use this variable value to print footer which lies outside <?end:body?> tag with grand totalor page total
Please suggest if there is any other way I can accomplish this functionality. Can we use parameter and update it. Syntax for update parameter value is not clear in user guide.

thanks for the info, i was trying to avoid this but had already reached the same conclusion.
everything else seems to be very time consuming and may not work correctly in the end.
we're on Oracle Applications : 11.5.10.2 which has just been converted to utf-8 and is an Oracle On-Demand installation.
do you know if 5.6.3 of the publisher is supported and any ideas on how difficult it is to get it installed?

Spawning pages with page numbers "page 1 of 1"

I'm using a calculation script to define "page 1 of 2" in a form. The script is as follows.

This works fine, however, when I start spawning pages the numbers get mixed up. For example, if I spawn one page, the "page 1 of 1" on page one changes to "page 1 of 2." On page two, it reads "page 0 of two." I just can't seem to get the "page n of n" to work with spawned pages. Any suggestions would help.

For each page's field number page you need to go to that page in the calculation script. You could also turn off calculations during the spawning of the pages and then turn it back on and recalculate the form.

Total number of users with valid passwd

Hi all,
what is the way to check the total number of users (existing on my SAP system) with a valid passwd?
I know how to find the total number of users but I just need the info for the valid passwd.

Turning pages with Pages

I wanted to use the ipad instead of paper notes. And I wanted to turn the pages in my document like in the ibook or notes. Is this possible?

You can't paste into iBooks. But there are a lot of note apps in the App Store that do more of what you want. With some you can type, some you handwrite and at least one turns your handwriting into text.

The input is monday of any week of a Year. Suppose 3 rd week starts from 15.11.2006 and ends to 21.11.2006. Weekly 5 days are working days. If i ienter the 15.09.2006 as input.....
The Required out put is : 5 Records ( In above example 15.09.2006 to 21.09.2006 total Number of records is 5. I mean 15.09.2006 is Found 4 times + 16.09.2006 is found 1 time in the Specied Range.
total: 4+1 = 5 records.)

Get total number of comps that are used in the opened project?

Does anyone know how i can get the total number of comps in the project-panel or the total number of comps that are used in the opened project?
This is what i have so far, however it's not exactly what I am looking for:

You can get the total number of comps with pretty much what you have
var numComps = 0;
for (var i = 1; i <= app.project.numItems; i++) {
    if (app.project.item(i) instanceof CompItem) {

You could look at the usedIn attribute of each comp to see how many comps appear in other comps, but that won't identify your top-level comp. I'm not sure how you would do that unless you just bump the count by 1:

Displaying page total on a page with fixed number of lines

Hi ,
My requirement is to have a fixed number of rows per page (say 20) and to have a page total beneath the table containing the data.I am using a RTF template.The columns in the table are
Order
Amount
Page Total : 3000
For including a page-break after 20 lines, i have added the following code.
For - each ______________

This limits the no of rows per page to 20.
I have tried 2 ways to display the page total but both don't seem to work Can someone please point what i am missing here?
1) Using add and show-page-total
I added the code (<?add-page-total:at;'Amount'?> to the Amount data column in the template and then used the <?show-page-total:at?> in the page total data column to display the total. But this doesnt work.It doesnt display any value.
2) Using Variables:
I declared a variable (<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'RTotalVar', 0)?>) before the table. Then, i used the (<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'RTotalVar', xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'RTotalVar') +Amount)?>) in the Amount data column to calculate the sum. I then used <?if:position() mod 20 =0?> <?xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, 'RTotalVar')?><?end if?> in the data column of the page total. But this doesnt work. The variable loses its value when it is displayed outside the table. Why is it so? How can i declare a global variable? I am not sure why the variable loses it value when taken out of the table. I would want it hold the value through out the document. Is my understanding correct?

How can I get a report with total number of pages printed on my HP Officejet Pro 8610?

Since knowing the number of pages I print is so critical to a choice of using the "HP Instant Ink Plan" or not, how can I find the total number of pages I have printed on my brand-new (installed 2 days ago) 8610? And if I can, is it a "resettable" or rolling total? Don't see anything in user guide and a search yields nothing usable on this blog.
Printer is installed wirelessly on an older PC with Windows XP SP3. I can also of course intstall it with network cable but so far it works OK on my home network without network cable. If it matters which OS, I also have a Lenovo laptop running Vista on which I can install this printer.
Please do not respond that I can find the total by counting the number of pieces of paper I have. Surely the internals of this fine machine must have the requested data so that HP can tell my usage if I select the monthly ink plan!
This 8610 was a good buy (net $89.00 after trade-in of my six year old J36xx Deskjet) at Office Depot/Max which of course influenced my decision to buy it. So far I am very happy with printing qualities and speed, have not tried the scanner yet and will probably never use the fax since I have no land line phone.

Section #2 of the Printer Ststus report will tell you. Please try:
Printer status report
Use the printer status report to view current printer information and ink cartridge status. Also use the printer status report to help you troubleshoot problems with the printer.
The printer status report also contains a log of recent events.
If you need to call HP, it is often useful to print the printer status report before calling.
To print the Printer Status Report
1. From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.
2. Touch Print Reports and then touch Printer Status Report.

To find total number of pages in XML publisher

1. Is there any method to find the total number of pages in BI or XML publisher.
2. Is there any method to to repeat the column(Not rows) on every page.For eg you have table with two columns say "A" and "B" .I want to repeat this B in every page . And A should print only in first page.
3. Is there any method to print a text say "ABC" only on first page footer based on condition.

Exactly what my requirement is- In my template i have set header and footer page setup as "different first page'" and also printing the user text at the bottom of the last page using <?start@last-page-first:body?> <?end body?>.When i run the template, for multiple pages output user text is displaying at the bottom of the last page that is working fine but for single page output user text is not displaying at the bottom of the page because of the ""different first page'" header and footer.If you have any idea please suggest.

Print number of pages with Report Generation toolkit

I use the report generation toolkit and the Print Report.vi to print a table and some text extracted from a MS Access database. The result of this is a print out that takes up several pages.
Now, on each page i want something like (Page x of y), and I do not want to buy more expensive NI packages for this simple thing. I know it should be possible since the Report Express vi can do it --- which for me is a useless vi.
I do not consider it a nice solution to try and keep track of the number of pages myself by dividing the table into more tables and use the new page vi between each "page table". This I would not like to do since depending on paper size, font size, and length of text strings in each cell this will be virtually impossible.
By moving into the Print Report.vi I've tried to see if I somehow can extract the info --- I've not found anything usefull but expect a workaround to possible.
Any suggestions?

Hi Skinny,
There are some tokens you can use in the headers and footers of Standard Reports generated by the Report Generation VIs. If you take a look at [LabVIEW]\examples\reports\TextReportExample.llb\Text Report Example.vi, you'll see that the right footer text of the report has the token <pagenofm>, which generates a footer of the form "1 of 10", to indicate page 1 out of 10 pages. There's also another tag you can use, <page>, that just lists the page number itself without a total number of pages. If you look at the help for the Set Report Header Text.vi or Set Report Footer Text.vi, you'll see a link in the help for all the different "tokens" you can use with the report header and footer. Actually, now that I think about it, you can use these tokens anywhere in the report, including the body text.

How to count number of documents in a page with Tabs

We have a page with Tabs and sub tabs for each Tab. There is no limit for the Tabs and Sub Tabs. I mean a Tab can have several child tabs and each child tab can have n number of Sub Tabs. We have documents laoded on Tab level and sub Tab level also.
I want to display the count and size of the documents loaded on a page. That is If Page1 has 2 tabs and each tab has 2 sub tabs and on each sub tab there are 2 documents of 10 MB then I should be able to display like this.
Page1 - number of documents: 8 , documents total size 80 MB.
By linking documents table and apges table I am able to get the results by tab not by page.
Any advice is appreciated.

Page totals not printing on any pages except the last

How do you get page totals to display one each page and "float" with the output? I created a summary object for the column with reset at page and put it in a frame that is displayed on all pages. There is, of course, a repeating group above it. But the repeating group clobbers the page totals on all except the last page. Shouldn't there be an implicit anchor that prevents this? that's what the Oracle documentation says anyway. This is probably real simple, but I find nothing in any documentation, white papers, or anything.
Will somebody please, please help me?

My first advice in situations like this is the double and triple check that this requirement still exists and it is driven
by the business. This is great opportunity to refactor some unnecessary complexity out of the solution if you identify it.
Assuming it is a valid and verified requirement, how you approach depends on the composition of the Interchange. Meaning, if you receive single ISA...IEA blocks with a single GS...GE, you can use the max of BTS.InterchangeSequenceNumber.
If you receive multiple ISA or GS's, it's a little different.
