Total on Properties

Hi,
In a report I need to display the Sub Total of the members' values on the basis of property.
The scenario is, for the country dimension I've maintained a property called Region. And I need to display total after every Region.

There are a couple ways to approach this design.  1 Is to use the property, expand all the rows and then hide the expanded row values in the page row key, and use excel formulas to aggregate the expansion area.  The other method is to add a Hierarchy to the member set that has the property and then use the hierarchy to derive the report as a total, without the rows, by converting the property into a new geographic node based hierarchy for reporting.

  • Invoice Forms created with Adobe X - default value for "total" column should be blank

    I am new to the forum and just finding my way around.  Thank you for any help.
    I've created an invoice template in Word, then imported it into Adobe X Pro to turn it into a form.  Pretty simple, but one thing is troubling me.  I have the usual description, quantity, price each, and total columns.  The "total" columns are defaulting with a "0" in them, and I'd prefer they default blank unless an entry is made on that line.  I have right-clicked the "total" fields properties and the default values are blank already, but a zero still shows up.  I  know it can be done because one of my earlier forms defaults to a blank space until I entered something on that line. Then it calculated.  How can I make the "total" column blank unless something is entered there?
    Secondly, when I save a form and want to go back to make changes, I'm not seeing how to do this.  It seems to save as a .pdf, and if I want to modify the form portion I have to start all over from scratch.  What am I missing?

    I've entered the script, and no change.  The "total" columns still show a (zero) 0 even when I have not entered anything in that line.
    For example:
    Description             Qty     Unit Price     Total
                                                                             0
                                                                             0
                                                                             0
    etc... all the day down the form.
    I'd like the zeroes not to appear when there is nothing on the Description lines.
    Incidentally, when selecting fields to use for calculations for the "total" column, we're supposed to place a check mark in the box of the fields to be calculated - and I can't CLICK in them.  I have to use the space bar.  Is that how it is supposed to work?

  • Hide Totals in Charts

    Hi,
    I am using hierachies in my (test-) dashboard and want to visualize the data in a crosstab and a chart.
    The user should be able to expand the hierarchy.
    Unfortunately there is a problem, that the chart shows the totals.
    When I select hide totals (chart properties and initial view) then there a empy spaces in the charts (see image below) which I want to hide too, but actually I have no idea how to do this.
    Maybe someone knows a workaround how I can hide this without losing the hierarchy.

    I think both alternatives are not ideal.
    If crosstab and chart show the totals it will look like this:
    Even though this is correct, especially the chart looks somehow wrong when showing totals for the year and the values for each quarter.
    So you are not able to see a trend.
    (I know that I can use another DS without hierarchy to show trends, but I hoped this is possible with the usage of hierarchies.)
    It should look like this:
    Totals in the crosstab, no totals in chart but working hierarchy.
    You have the option for chart to show or hide totals, maybe it will be possible to add a function to show or hide totals when using hierarchies?
    As the values are on another level of the hierarchy they may be displayed in the chart in a different colour?
    It would be nice if charts with hierarchies can look like this:

    If i modify first column fx dropping sum, but selecting first or second addend separately it works. Sum not

    HA Deliveries Quantity Gross Qtd: fx = HA Returned Quantity Qtd OK
    Maybe there's something wrong in my hierarchy definition?. Please help

    Giancarlo,
    Can you try adding prersentation column "TimeDim"."Quarter" to your report and check ? Hide it if you don't require it. This shud solve your problem as the Time Hierarchy is defined correctly. Also, hope you have set the Chronological Key correctly at the last level.

  • How to capitalized cables????

    Dear Gurus,
                    I am having a requirement where I need to capitalize the cables with their end to end links.
    e.g. if cable is from andheri to bandra. so one link is andheri and another is bandra and whole cable needs to be capitalized.
    Link i can manage thru object link but how to capitalize????i mean where shud i map my asset id against that link in SAP PM.

    Rahul,
      I guess it would depend on the level of detail at which you would like to track and maintain these assets. If you are looking at a dummy asset on the PM side yes you could create it as a equipment or FL without the Linear details associated with these objects.
        Cables are "Linear Assets". Currently unless you are in EHP5 there is no standard method to create a Master data (Equipment /FL) and Execute transactional activities (Order /notification) for these type of assets on the PM side at alinear level.You will have to customize the transactional objects for Proper asset maintenance, tracking and execution at the Linear level (Ex: Cable starting point Dimension, End point dimension, total length, properties of cable at various length, time of installation at various spans/lengths, Age of a specific segment of cable,Labour/ Material cost associated to various length..............)

  • SSRS 2008 R2 Report - Sum Totals of a Filtered Group

    I'm at a loss here, so any help will me much appreciated. I will do my best to explain, but if you need additional information, please let me know:
    I have a very large dataset of patient data. Specifically for the numbers I need, I have a patient number field, a county field, a 1 or 0 for LastYear field, and a 1 or 0 for CurrentYear field.
    Example:
    PtNo    County  PY  CY
    45676  Scott     0    1
    45322  Cape     1     0
    47686  North     0     1
    The thing I am shooting for on my report is, "Volume growth in 3 counties (+20 cases)."
    I created a group and grouped by County (group name County) and I included a group filter to only include "total cases of CY" are greater than "total cases of PY" to narrow my data to only counties that had a higher current year sum
    than previous year sum.
    Example:
    County  PY    CY  Difference
    Scott    141  143     2
    Cape     90    98      8
    North    78     88    10 
    All is working well, except I don't need to see the Counties themselves, I just need the 3 counties and a difference of 20. 
    I explored online and found tutorials that said to right click on the field and select "Add Total" but this total did not have my filter in it and gave me everyone. I also tried adding a row outside the group and used the RunningValue function
    (i.e. RunningValue(Fields!FYTD_Current_Year.Value, Sum, "County"))  but it gave me a message that states "The Value expression for the text box 'Textbox456' has a scope parameter that is not valid for an aggregate function. The scope
    parameter must be set to a string constant that is equal to either the name of a containing data region or the name of a dataset."
    When I move the row with the RunningValue function inside the group, it runs but I get the same information repeated twice for each county with no final total.
    So I am not sure how to go about getting my values I need for my report. Anybody know how to resolve this?

    Hi Cyndi,
    Based on my understanding, you specify a filter condition in group properties. Then you want to sum the filtered values for each field.
    In this scenario, we need to specify a filter condition on group level. If we use sum() function out of group, the expression will calculate the total values on dataset level instead of group level. So we can’t simply use expression to achieve this goal.
    However, we can use custom code to record the filtered values for each field, then we can calculate the total based on these values. Please refer to the steps and screenshots below:

  • Unable to change window properties after upgrading project from X5 to RH8

    Hi,
    I just upgraded an existing project from X5 to RH8.  In Windows Properties (HTML Help), if I make any changes and click OK, I receive the following message:
    "For Width field please enter a value between 65 and 24."
    If I do enter a value within those parameters in any of the "Width" options on the Properties page, I'm still presented with the same error message. 
    How can this be corrected?

    Perhaps try creating a totally new window definition and configuring the parameters as desired.
    Once in a blue moon we see that the window definition somehow becomes corrupt.

    I would try another restore of the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. Maybe something went wrong in the process. Make sure everything works before applying any updates and adding any hardware or software.
    Then add things carefully, rebooting Windows and testing the USB and audio at each step.
    Please note this.
    The only info windows gives me for the sound card is that it from Microsoft... with a driver version of 6.1.7601.17514....which naturally doesn't really help me since I have no idea what card or mobo I have . Is there any way for me to find out what I need other than opening up my laptop?
    Every one of them lists my mobo simply as a Toshiba motherboard, with no audio card information. Which I'm assuming that is because it has an internal sound processor. My problem is that none of the properties, or ANYTHING I try, will give me information on what I need to fix this...

  • Help creating percentage based on totals

    I've got a pretty simple report that shows vendor performance. It lists the vendor name, the po number, the amounts delivered, the expected delivery date, and the actual delivery date.
    I've got a total to count the number of deliveries. I've got a total to sum the times the vendor was late. What I want to add seems pretty straight-forward - a total percentage late. So, sum(times late)/count(deliveries) = total percentage late. How do I add the total percentage late to my report?

    Tracy, are you looking to format the result of your calculation? If this is the case, you want to right click in the column, format data, click the number tab, and adjust the properties of the result.
    Also, it seems like you are trying to get a total percentage late overall. Your formula will give you the percentage late for each individual delivery. Try using the average function for the column you have calculated. This should give you the average percentage late. Hope this helps.

  • Need to show total of condition result only not the detail

    Hi,
    I've created a query to report the number of shopping carts with a value over $1000 for a given period of time.  I included the shopping cart and its value in the query but do not display them.  Then I created a condition to keep only those > $1000.  I get the correct result but too many rows, basically one for each shopping cart that meets the condition - I want to report only the result line (total) only per period.
    Any ideas?

    Often when using Conditions, you need to change the Results properties to Summation, so that it sums and displays just the rows that have satisfied the condition(s).  Without the Summation option, the Result row totals are for all the detail rows, including the rows that are not displayed because they meet the conditions(s).
    Sounds like in this case you would need to add VB code to the workbook to suppress the detail rows and just display the Result rows.  Don't have an alternative if you are trying to do this on the web.

    Seems I was a bit too quick in closing.
    Sorry for opening two threads on this, but I need to get this solved as I'm on a tight deadline here...
    The answer that pretty much solved my issue on sorting columns on sub-totals in Answers was:
    if you want to sort on sub-totals, follow this:
    i'm assuming that for that profitability column sub-total is sum of individual values for that segment..
    create other column in criteria tab:
    change it's fx to: sum(Profitability by Year, Sector)
    then, keep first sort order asc/desc on this column
    hide this column
    apply 2nd sort order asc/desc on normal profitability column..
    hope it resolve your issue.... I just have one more quick question:
    I can now sort according to sub-total, but how can I hide this new column from my table view? Clicking on the red 'x' button totally removes it as a filter.. The "hide" checkbox in the properties of the column simply grays the column out and shows it without any numbers.

    go to column properties (first option) > Column Format tab
    you find hide check box.. select and save.
    grays out the values in the column, which is correct and the same what we want..
    But, you should look at that in compound layout, not in edit properties of table...
    in compound layout, appears like it's hidden
    or
    achieve everything in pivot then exlude that particular column

  • Analysis report with totals on specific columns

    I have an analysis report that I need to create totals on specific columns. If I turn on "Grand Totals" from the "Edit View: Table" section, all of the numeric columns will display grand totals. This is a nice automatic feature, but I only need totals of specific columns. Not all numeric columns need totals nor do Grand Totals of some columns make any sense.
    For example, to display opportunity details, we will have on the report:
    Opportunity Name, Item number, Item Description, Quantity, Price, Extended Price
    Since the opportunity may have multiple items on it, having a grand total of quantity and unit price makes no sense. All we need is Grand Total of the opportunity extended price.
    Is there a way to selectively turn on/off column totals or is it an all or nothing option?

    Actually, i just solved the problem.
    Here is what I did:
    1. I added a column to the "Design Criteria" section (step 1). To keep the units consistant, I made sure that the data element was suitable for the value (I used a currency element). Ensure you note the position of the new column, mine was in position 11.
    2. Under the newly added elements "Column Properties", I set it to HIDDEN and changed the name to "Grand Total"
    3. Under the "Edit Formula", I changed the formula to be: SUM(<numeric column>)
    4. In "Create Layout" (Step 2), I added a narrative view to the bottom of the page.
    5. In the "Edit Narrative View", I set the appropriate formatting and added the following: Total Extended Price: @11
    6. Ensure that "Rows to display" is set to 1.
    Save and run
    All done, works like a charm.

    Hi,
    Again, I made a nice coloured picture from a screen capture which summarise the improvements that I would like to make in my form,
    Situation:
    For an educational purpose, I made this form   to simplify the way of recording the data and also to develope the independence of the students.
    ( I am doing this on a voluntary basis, working extra hours on my free time but I don't really mind because I am learning a lot of things in the same time)
    After being tested by the teacher, the student has to record the short date, the lines memorised, his grade, number of mistakes, and his attendance.
    I created everything in Word, then converted the file in PDF, then I created all the different fields with Adobe acrobat.
    There is in total 4 sheets, there are all similar except the first one in which there is a box with: date started, date finished, total time spent, absences.
    Below this box there is a table with 16 lines from (A to P) and 7 columns (Days, Date, From.. to.. , Grade, No. lines memorised, No. Errors, Attendance) ( so this table is present on all the sheets)
    Due to the fact that some students need more time than others, and also beacause some text need more time, I estimated a need of 4 sheets at the very most.
    I would like to make the following amelioration and automate the inputting of some of the data because I know that some of the students will certainly forget, so to avoid this scenario I am trying to make this form the easiest possible.

    At present, the students has to input the total of absences manually, is there a way ( script) to automate this by initialising the field next to "Absences" at  " 0 day"   and then everytime that Absent is selected from the COMBO BOX, it add 1 and it is displayed like this:  " 1 day" then " 2 days"  then " 3 days" etc … (so from what I read I have to initialise a counter a the beginning and then for (i...   ) count= count++; something like this...
    Furthermore, I need a solution to overcome the possibility that a second sheet may be needed for the same student; therefore I would need the data from the "attendance column" from the second sheet ( and perhaps the 3rd and 4th aswell) to be added on the "absences field" in the first sheet
    My idea: everytime that the short date is inputted in the first line (next to A) in the "Date" column of one of the 4 sheets then we check the 16 Combo box of the attendance column in this sheet instead to check 16*4=64 fields fot the 4 sheets in one go?
    but I don't know at all how to write it in Javascript. Or perhaps there is a way more easier than that?
    Shall I allocate a value for Absent on the “ export value”?

    At present I wrote a simple script which matches the number of lines to the poem selected (Eg.  if I select the poem V.Hugo,  the number "36" will appear next to Number of lines).
    Again I would like the make the life of the students very easy so I would like a script which detects this number “36” on the "From .. to …" column,  as soon it is detected (on the first sheet or 2nd or 3rd or 4th)  check from the same line if "A / Pass" or "B / Pass" have been selected in the "Grade" column ,if yes the short date inputted on this line will be written on the field next to "Date finished" .
    this is a simple example with 36 lines only but somethimes, the students may have to memorise 80 lines and more, this is the reason for having 4 sheets in total.
    So basically I would like to automate the field next to" Date finished:" with a script that collect the short date from the day in which the student has finished his memorisation with "A / Pass" or "B / Pass"
    As for the "Total time spent" George Johnson helped me with a script that calculate the difference betwen date started and date finished (thank you)
