Total Result : Colum Average

Hi experts,
I have a colum of time : 00:00:00
Example:
00:22:44
00:11:22
00:01:15
I want to show total result of the colum but NOT SUMA ...I want AVERAGE of all the results in column.
TOTAL RESULT : 00:11:47

Hello Marc,
 Go to the properties of the selection or formula you are using
and under Calculations you find two drop down box
calculate Result As choose Average of All values.

           calculate single value as hide....
           calculate result as average........ for amount,length of service,age....
for noofleave days
       calculate single value as nothing defined
       calculate result as nothing defined....
in the output for result rows for these three key figures result is coming as 2000,90,100..........indiviuda key figures are hided properly but the result rows are getting summed ....instead of average....
for no of leave days it is coming correct.............
when i executed the query in rsrt ..i am getting warning 'calculate result as ...not executed'.......why this is not comign... i have done similar thing in another query ..........there it is workign fine...........
In the aggregation tab for these key figures at query level...exception aggregation is key to standard.....
please through some light..

Hello,
You can try the following:
Remove the calculate result as setting for the three KFs.
In exception aggregation set property to average with ref char as leave start date.
Check if it works.
If the above dosent work, set reference char to emplyee ID and check.
Either one of them has to work

Calculate result as average in the report not showing average for all

Hello,
I have a calculated key figure in the query where its result should show average. I have made a setting for this calculated key figure as:
1. Calculations tab: Calculate result as "average" and calculate single value as "nothing defined"
2. Aggreagation tab: exception aggregation: Total and reference char: []
Now coming to report, BEX it showing correct average for all cells but when i run it in portal few values it is showing correct average but for few it is showing as blank. I exported this to excel then cell shows blank but cell has some values in the custom format and display values when i change the format to general from "format cells" option.
Please help me in resolving the issue- why portal not showing value for all.

Total result & formula result is wrong in query out put

I have issue with total result and formula result
my requirement
Formula for hours is ( total time / Counter / 60)
hours column displaying
   14.2
     2.4
     3.4
Total -
5.6   not 20    then I setp calculate results to SUM now total displying 20 perfect.
Then I am using hours colum for calculation   here is my issue
Qty rec per hour formula is = received / Hour
Hours   Qty rec per hour          received
14.2              100                            14200
2..4               100                              2400
3.4                100                              3400
20                 300                              20000        result column for qty rec per hour is wrong . formula is not working on result for qty rec per hour
Actually qty rec per hour result should be 20000/20 = 1000
How to resolve this issue

Let me explain my issue with examples :
My report is by document date level ( Not at Po or PO line Level)
I have a 3 Key figures
1. Hour - is poulation at PO Line level
Ex : 4500001    1             5.30
                         2            5.30
                         3            5.30
Then I am using counter to get single for time
Hour/ Count now my value is 5.30 in the report . hour column is perfect
2. Po Qty is fine
3. Qty Recd per hour ( Calculation)    PO QTy / Hour
Now the issue is each row caluculating perfect . but result row is not correct Qty Received per hour . We don"t wont sum of Qty received per hour in result . We want Caluclation result in the result
Here is the issue
If I have multiple POs for same document date , each row is fine but system using division at Hour result also by COunter . because of thati am getting wrong hours in result for hour . this wrong result is using for Poqty receved per hour result also .
I put total for hour coulum result is perfect but for clauclation it is talking total hours/ total conter result .How to replace result caluculating by counter .This is our major issue .

How to have total result of CKF use the formula of the CKF

Hello experts, in a couple of BI reports we need that a Calculated Key Figure's total result use its same formula, instead of using the different calculations that are offered for totals. Let me explain:
We have the following report (please ignore the "-"):
Month----Entries---Exits----Percentage
Jan--82--
25%
Feb--63--

Result--226--
Percentage is calculated as "Exits / Entries * 100", or "Exits %A Entries" (in the latter case, the default calculation of total is "average", while in the former it is "sum") and has an exception aggregation of "Average" with reference characteristic "Calendar Month". The problem we have run up with is that we want the result of Percentage calculated the same way, which is somewhat similar to an average. However, the result is always calculated based on the individual results. This gives us different numbers.
Result Percentage = Total Exits %A Total Entries = (6 / 22) * 100 = 27.27% (CORRECT)
Result Percentage = Average of individual Percentages = (25 + 50 + 12.5) / 3 = 29.16% (INCORRECT)
I've tried different approaches, such as changing the reference characteristic and exception aggregation, selecting "average" as the method of calculating results or individual values, checking the "cummulated" and "Also apply to results" checkboxes, etc. but I was unsuccessful.
Any thoughts?

I'll post sample data and give a more thorough explanation of both queries (the one that works correctly and the one that does not). Both queries come from the same infocube:
The correct query: it is a monthly report of entries vs exits for all store types but one (called "general" which should not be included here) in a base country (so if base country is, for example, France, then all stores in France). The query structure and sample data (ignore the "-"):

This query is initially filtered by the store type "general" and the base country (so that it is not considered).
As you can see, the percentage can change quite a lot. What confuses me is that in both cases I am using the same CKF "Percentage" with "Average" as exception aggregation and "Calendar Month" as Reference Characteristic.
Percentage = Exits %A Entries
When dealing with individual results, everything is ok. It is only when dealing with totals that the query miscalculates, calculating the totals as the "Percentage" average (the sum of individual values / the number of values).
I modified the incorrect query to match the correct query, so that it looked like a copy of it, and the results were calculated correctly. Then, when I modified it again to return it to its original form, the results were calculated incorrectly again.
Any suggestions? Do you think this could be a configuration issue or something like that?

Can not retrive total result for 0HDCNT_LAST(number of employee)

Dear all:
We tried to create query from cube 0PA_C01. We used 0ORGUNIT and Number of Employees(0HDCNT_LAST) in the row and column.Also we created a formula to get total result of number employees by SUMGT (0HDCNT_LAST). But when we executed this query, there is no cumulative value appeared in the "total result" of bottom row. And we are not able to catch total result by formula as well. The setting for infoObject of 0HDCNT_LAST is integer and cumulative.
Can anyone tell me what is going wrong?

I am loading the headcount (0HR_PA_0) to Actions & Headcount cube. As a part of load I have used all the standard fields of the cube. Apart from that I have populated the functional group value from Employee-Org Masterdata. As this is an time dependent.
0HDCNT_LAST is an non-Cumulative key figure in the cube which is get populated from the 0HR_PA_0.
I required a headcount report by functional group. So I have pulled 0HDCNT_LAST & Period into the Columns and Functional Group into Rows.
When I run the report for headcount by function group it is showing very less value. But if run the same report by including the Employee and the functional group in the rows then it is showing the correct headcount in the result.
I am not sure where I am missing.

Calculate Results As Average of Detailed Values That Are Not Zero... with hiearchies doesn't work

For the key figures, the option of "Calculate Results As Average of Detailed Values That Are Not Zero, Null, or Error" works fine for characteristics drilldown without hierarchies, but with hierarchies it simply doesn't work; instead of calculate the overall result as average, the system calculates it as SUM. It works like the option "Nothing Defined" where the results provided by the analytic engine are displayed. No local calculation takes place.
How can I do to display the overall result of hierarchical drilldown of a characteristic as an average?

It is usually best to just keep it as simple as possible. What do you think the code in the OR Array Elements does? I imagine it is just a simple FOR loop with a variable to keep the latest OR. So I would do what GerdW just showed with the FOR loop.

we can get each quanlity field total result at the bottom of the searched results by bps basic function,but I wanna know how to exclude some special fields,not all the quanlity fields should get the total result

In query designer, right click the characteristic -> property, you will find "suppress result"

Total Result is not working properly in QA

Hi,
We have requirement to show Total No. of Employees with respect to Age Band and Total No. of Employees in the entire Organization.
We developed the reports as per the requirement to show employees in the age band <20 Years/ 21-30 Years/31-40 Years and so on by restricting No. of Employees with the dimension AGE.
<20 Years----21-30 Years-31-40 Years----->50 Years

754.00-- 425.00--
120.00
The query working properly in DEV, but not in QA.
This is the case with another report also, were we executing to check Total No. of Employees without any restrictions.
But, when i drill down the report with Org. Unit, it is displaying No. of Employees corresponding to each Org. Unit, but not the total Employees (Overal Result) with all the Org. Units.
We checked all the properties with respect to info objects and as well as query properties, but no luck.
Please provide any valuable suggestions.

Clinker Rate MT should display 342 instead of 19.59, i was applied exception aggregation for clinker value Total and ref characteristic plant. same exception aggregation applied to net quantity keyfigure.

What is the line item infoobject in your data which is causing given list of records?
Try TOTAL with line item infoobject as ref char but not plant.
Try with constant selection on your KF to display 342.

Pb in BEx : Total result of differences between 2 restricted KF

I have a big problem in the BEX and the best is to give you an example of a scenario:
      Quant1    Quant2         Difference(absolute value)
M1   Q1 = 100 Q2 = 80    |Q1 Q2| = 20
M2   Q3 = 90   Q4 = 100   |Q3 Q4| = 10
Tot. R1 = 190     R2 = 180           R ??
For the ratio R, I want to have the sum of the differences, ie R = 20 + 10 = 30 (instead of 190 180 = 10).
If the materials are displayed, I can do that using the propertie of totalisation of result for the formula.
The problem is when I remove the material in order to only have the result, Id like to have the same result, ie the sum of each difference of the materials that compose the result (even if the materials are not displayed anymore). The reality is that it calculates the formula again with the quantities of the total line, ie |R1 R2| = 10.
I think the Bex cant do that as from the moment when I use restricted key figures (which is the case in my scenario).
Do anyone have an idea on how to have my report as I want ?

Yes I have exactly these properties for the ratio of difference:
"calculate result as" : summation
"calculate single values as" : Nothing defined
"Formula collision" : Nothing defined
It doesn't matter changing the formula collision as there is no formula collision (I've tried).
I think the problem comes from the fact that when the materials and the result are displayed, materials are considered as single values and the result as a result.
When I remove the material, the result becomes a single value and therefore, it isn't correct.
But I don't understand why there is no way to avoid this problem as it is a current problem (everybody should use differences or ratios...). There must be something to do but I don't know why.

What is the difference between Total RMS and Average RMS?

There is a difference I am seeing between Average RMS in Audition 1.5 & Audition CS6. I inserted the same track into each version and selected the same segment and below are my results. Thanks!

Thanks for your response. Both versions have square wave setting, 50ms window and account for dc box checked. Any other thoughts? Kind of a mystery.
