Touch screen double clicks are seen as two single clicks due to position sensitivity

I'm developing an app for a laptop with a touch screen. It displays several low resolution images in Lab View pictures. The operator can select an image by double clicking, displaying a higher resolution picture that fills the screen. Double clicking that image returns to the multiple image display.
It is very difficult to cause a double click event via the touch screen. The two clicks must be located at the exact same point on the touchscreen, or two single clicks are returned. My fat fingers can't seem to hit the same pixel twice.
Is there a way to set the position sensitivity of double clicks in Lab View? in Windows?

I think this would be an OS configuration-parameter - at least, outside LabVIEW - have you looked under "Control Panel" or Programs for a touch-screen configuration utility? Here's a link to info re: the Dell Latitude XFR D630. Note the "Doube Click Area" parameter under "Touchkit Configuration Utility" - Settings.

Embedded swf in director on touch screen - double tap required

There is a known problem with swf's with nested mc's embedded in a director projector when used on a touchscreen (with dragmode enabled)

Basically, the problem is that flash requires a mouseRollOver event to give the focus to the mc, before it registers an onPress. With a touchscreen, where the cursor is disabled, the first click and release on the swf (or nested mc's) reads as an onRollOver event, and the user must click again to register an onPress and onRelease. This leads to very confusing behaviours in my application where I have dots (embedded mc's) being created when an image is touched, then the dots can be clicked and dragged, or double tapped to be removed.
All works fine when the mouse and cursor is used, but I can't get it to work using a single tap on the touchscreen. In some cases I can get away with using onRollOver but when used with startDrag I can't think of a way of stopping the drag when the user lifts their finger. (which doesn't register as an event)
What I need is an AS2 script that forces a click event (onPress) when the user taps the button once. Unfortunately I only know AS2 so can't use mouseEvents from AS3. I've spent days on this (after I thought I'd got all the bugs out) and have run out of ideas. Any suggestions appreciated please

Managed to get around it along the lines of: this[my_name].onRollOver = function()

}; where pressAction() starts the drag and sets dotName and a flag to record if its using the rollover or press.

Can the Hotspot be set to require a double-click rather than the default single click in a quiz?

Why must I click everything twice where a single click should have worked?

My Ipod just got a malfunction that makes me have to click ANY app I want to open twice to be able to open it. That's not too bad. The hard and annoying part is when I want to scroll down anywhere...I have to keep double tapping and hope that it registers and allows me to scroll down. Even the "Slide to Unlock" bar needs to be clicked twice to allow me to slide it across and unlock my itouch. This problem started immediately after a pop-up notification came up and I believe I clicked the home button at the exact time it popped up. Maybe it's purely coincidental, but the problem came right after that incident. Another thing to note is that a black rectangular box surrounds (and moves) to whatever place I click, be it an app, part of a sentence, or even a picture. I don't know any way to fix this problem and need help! Thanks.

Head to Settings -> General -> Accessibility and make sure all of its settings are turned off.

Enabling screen for single click in OOABAP alvs

I have a requirement where I am displaying ALV grid in screen 100. In this grid I have defined double click event in which I call 101 screen (with coordinates i.e. starting at 10 10) which displays another grid. The problem here is that in screen 101 the buttons and screen fields are not responding to single click. I mean that for every action (change the cell value in 101 screen ot selecting a row or clicking on pushbutton in this 101 screen) I have to click twice. But I want all this actions to be performed with single click. If anyone knows the solution to know please let me know.

When is apple going to have touch screen iMacs and power books?

Every kind of PC has touch screen now including TVs. It's hugely disappointing that apple is not embracing this especially since they started the movement to touchscreen with the IPhone. Are there plans to begin using touchscreens if not is there a reason? Thanks for any information you might have.

kind of feel like Apple's losing its "cutting-edge, innovative, pushing new technology, user friendly options & ideas" identity with the passing of Mr. Jobs.
I feel that touch-screen functionality & TV are two areas he would have broached by now if he was still with us to champion them through. Along with, I'm certain, others only he could of come up with.

Touch screen thinks it's a pen

I have a Sony Vaio Duo SVD11225CXB running Windows 8.1. The original problem was that it had the "pen" single click pointer and kept getting stuck in various corners of the screen. (At the time, I did not know that the pointer showing a tiny star surrounded by a white circle was a pen pointer.) I then uninstalled the USB device driver for the touchscreen to disable it and could not find the driver again. That issue was resolved in my previous post. Now, I am running into a new problem. When I click on the screen, it ends up highlighting the area I am clicking, but doesn't result in an actual click. So clicking the start menu, the x in the corner doesn't do anything. Just so everyone is clear, this is the icon I see is this singe-tap pointer: http://i.msdn.microsoft.com/dynimg/IC106593.jpg. I would like to know how to disable pen completely. This computer does not have a pen, so it doesn't make sense. Kindly try to look for any Pen/Digitizer driver from Device Manager. Look under Human Interface Devices. If you see pen driver, right click and select Properties -> Driver -> Disable.
You may also try to reinstall Touch Screen Driver. Under Human Interface Devices, right click the driver for touch screen and select Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE). Restart the laptop.
Update or download drivers from eSupport website, especially Touch Panel Calibration Tool.

Touch screen support (no context menu)?

Happy to see this, but how are touch screen devices (that don't have a right-click) being supported? Even though people might not type that much on touch screen devices, they do make more mistakes *if* they have to type on them, so some easy typo correction is even more essential.

Thanks for your feedback. I would like to clarify that currently the SpellUI feature is very limited, lots of improvement to be done. However, currently If you need to support touch screen or other advanced UI features, you can create your own UI components and utilize the SpellChecker class.

Warm hands only on touch screen?

Do your hands/fingers need to be normal temp to work on the iPhone? I find that if my hands are colder than usual, even slightly, it doesn't respond to touch.

That's a very interesting question (cold fingers on capacitive touch screen). I've seen calloused fingers not work, hands with lotion, and even a small percentage of people with no known explanation. But I've never had to figure out cold before.
For a capacitive touch screen to work, a nearby object needs to draw off some of the projected voltage field. The human body is a conductive bunch of near-surface blood vessels surrounding mostly water. (Basically a huge skin device, which for self-capacitance calculations is roughly equivalent to a six foot diameter sphere full of H2O.)
We know that the blood vessels near the surface of the skin close up with the cold (your fingers feel cold and look blue). Without the blood, the surface conductivity goes down. So a plausible theory could be that your fingers have have become more of a insulator, just as with wearing most gloves.
It doesn't seem that just a little cold should affect most people, though. Perhaps your fingers are extra sensitive to the chill.

S400 Touch - Driver for Touch Screen

I'm on the Driver Download page for the S400 Touch, but I have no idea which driver is for my touch screen. There are display drivers and mouse/touchpad drivers, but neither of them say anything (at least I don't see it) about the HID touch screen. Running Windows 7 64bit.
Any ideas?

How to Open new screen for single click on ALV icon.

Hi All,
Can any body help me regarding the below ALV requirement.
I need to create a executable program ZPROGRAM with a table having field to store long text.The ALV report should display records according to the selection screen parameters with a icon in each record when clicked should open a new screen with present data in the field and must be able to save the entered long text.
Can any body give me the idea after displaying the simple ALV in the output,
How to open new screen(not the Pop-ups) after single click on the icon,
in that I should be able to modify & save the long text in my ZTABLE and
able to retrieve the same text for single clicked icon record.
which function modules/Classes/Methods can we use for this requirement.
And how retrieve the same text for this record.

Handling Touch Screen Events for Sony Ericsson P990i Phone

Single Click versus Double Click Action not working

Hello, having an issue with actions on symbols.
I have symbols that when clicked play at a specific location on the timeline.
Tthe first symbol uses single click (how I want it)
The rest of the symbols also use single click, but when I test the animation they require double click (even though they are coded to be single click)
Any ideas?

Hi, Zack-
Marie nailed it without even looking at the project. You are calling play() on a place that has a trigger that says stop(). The reason it plays the second time is rather complicated and has to do with the default play() behavior when there's a trigger, but the easy thing to do is to add one to your click event timecode.
For instance: Presentation.click currently says:
sym.play(22000);
Just replace it with:
sym.play(22001);
The next easiest thing to do is to change your play call to use the optional "false" parameter to force it to not execute the trigger at 2200.

2.0 messing with touch screen

Not sure if anyone else noticed or if I am just going crazy but every since I upgraded to 2.0 it seems the sensitivity if the touch screen decreased. It now takes two or three attempts for it to register that I hit send or to open a app or to edit or to...you get the picture. Anyone else notice this?

How much memory free space have you got? Have you loaded a lot of apps?
