Trace owner of messages in stdout

We have a tomcat server which serves several applications. The stdout contains hundereds of thousands of lines with the same message "Calling renameTo()".
Is there any way to determine where this message is comming from. Is there some wat to trace who is writing into the stdout?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for the reply. We have searched for the text but have not found it. Nothing we have is compressed.
Any other ideas?Did you do as I suggested and expand all the jars and war files then search all the resulting class files?
Thinking about this, it would be fairly easy to write a Java program to do this all in memory. Recursively traverse a jar/war file extracting all the files and then searching all the files for the key phrase. When found, print out the war/jar name and the class name.

It took me 15 minutes to write a program to process ALL the war files in my 'webapps' directory looking for a particular phrase in a class file itself contained within a jar file. Recursion was not required.

    Hello,
    I have a 10.3.6 instance running with JRE 1.7.0_25-b15.
The server is sending health related info messages to stdout.
"com.bea.logging.BaseLogger log Info: XX% of the total memory in the server is free"
2 messages are logged at a time, but not on a consistent interval.
We send the stdout and stderr to a log file via the -Dweblogic.Stdout and -Dweblogic.Stderr properties.  These messages are adding to the
log file size and frankly are an annoyance.  Is there any additional settings/properties/filters needed to eliminate these messages?
These are the instance's settings with regard to logging:
    - Minimum severity to log: Warning
    - Log File Severity level: Warning
    - Standard Out Severity level: Off
    - Memory Buffer Severity level: Warning
    - Redirect Stdout Logging:  disabled
    - Redirect Stderr Logging:  disabled

  • Trace / Track Email Messages

How can I fully trace / track a message from the intial smtp connection to the delivery to the exact folder delivered to?  I have a client that's randomly missing emails on an almost daily basis.   I've set up a catch all mailbox that receives every deliverable email for this domain.   This mailbox receive the copy of the message, however the message is not delivered to or can not be found in his mail directory.
    OS X 10.6.8
Local Filtering on the Servers Turnded off - we have a 3rd parting filtering company.   I can see the message arriving in the mail.log for this user and immediatly after for the catch all address.   Its not the filtering company.
Since I can see it land in the mail.log being sent to dovecot, how can I get dovecot to log everything its doing?

  • How to trace the message in which line of program used?

    Dear fellows,
Many times when we run a t-code (especially standard t-code), it will return many message log. but when we debug the t-code to trace the error message, it is difficult to find why raise this error message. Even we can not find in which line of program. We can not use the where-to-used list in SE91 to trace, because it is not written like this:       message 033(FD) TYPE E.
For example in validation(GGB0)  we use some message, but when this message come out, we didn't know this message in which program raise.  And it also can not be traced using message at in debug mode.
In many case, the way of using message is not easy to be trace , but if we can find which line of program to raise this message, would help a lot for finding the cause problem.
Is there any tool for us to trace message ?
           Thanks for your sincerely answer!

    Hello All,
If the message log is filled like this
      L_S_MSG-MSGTY     = 'E'.
      L_S_MSG-MSGID     = 'BL'.
      L_S_MSG-MSGNO     = '303'.
      L_S_MSG-MSGV1     = '007'.
Can you trace this message by putting a watch-point/break point? I guess no! If some has YES as answer, please feel free to correct me.
That is why whenever filling a message log/return table it is important that we ensure that the message can be traced back using "where-used". Hence the usage of MESSAGE...INTO (or the pre-historic, IF 1 = 2 ... MESSAGE ... ENDIF) construct.

  • Trace() via stdout instead of log file?

    I'm new to Flex. I'm developing on a Mac running 10.5. I
discovered the information about mm.cfg, flashlog.txt, and the
    debug flash player.
I was wondering if it's possible to have trace() send its
statements to stdout instead of to a log file. I run the debug
player from the command line anyway, so it would be awfully
    convenient.
On a (possibly) related note, does anybody know what
TraceOutputFileEnable in mm.cfg actually does? As far as I can
tell, it has no effect on whether or not the logfile is
    used.

I clobbered together a solution to my problem. I wrote a
shell script that does what I want. It's a simple one-liner and,
most importantly, does not require that you create a mm.cfg file.
    quote:
    (path to the debug player)/Flash\
    Player.app/Contents/MacOS/Flash\ Player $* 2>&1
It seems that the debug player actually writes its trace
output to stderr, but also apparently redirects stderr to the
flashlog.txt file. This script redirects stderr to stdout. I also
launch the player by specifying the executable inside the
application's container. This has two side effects: it blocks the
shell until the player quits, and it allows me to start multiple
    players.
I hope this was useful to somebody else! Being able to see
the output of Flash Player in realtime is really important. If
anybody from Adobe reads this, it would be nice for this to be a
supported feature in future versions of Flash Player.

  • Dataloss in network... How to trace it..?

    Hi,
Though this question is related to SAP XI and SMICM trace, I feel this question can also be answered by people in WebAs General, so i am posting this in this forum.
In my current scenario where SAP XI system pushes data to another system(ABC system) using HTTPS connection. I have set up an RFC destination of Type G to connect to the external system.
When i do a Test connection, i see in SMICM log file, i found that connection established, request message written into ABC system. When response is being written i could find BINDUMP of content denied in the SMICM log file. What does that exactly mean..?
Also When i contacted the other party--ABC, they have told that they could not see any messages in their system.
XI shows successfully processed and ABC system did not receive the message... So where did the data go?? I have no clue :-(( Need your inputs in this regard. How to trace if the message has been successfully posted by XI. Below is the SMICM log file.

  • Message in sxmb_moni is getting cancelled in 3 mins

    Hi Experts,
Few messages for synchronous interfaces are going in to error status in sxmb_moni after 3 minutes even when a timeout parameter of 5mins is maintained in the module tabe of receiver SOAP adapter. Sender is ECC system. Please help resolve the issue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Krish

    Hello Krish,
Can you check if you can implement the note #1899735 - XI runtime: Trace of HTTP timeouts. This then writes which configuration parameter determines the timeout within the trace of the message in SXMB_MONI.

  • WLST, how do I suppress unwanted stack traces and make WLST less verbose?

    Hi everyone,
I've just started out with WLST but have ended up somewhat confused. My script works as intended but is very verbose.
Suppose I want to log in:
    try:
         connect(user, "wrong_password", url)
    except WLSTException, err:
         print str(err)
print "Run with option \"-h\" for help"The password is wrong so I get something like this printed out by me:
    {noformat}
Error occured while performing connect : User: wm714, failed to be authenticated. Use dumpStack() to view the full stacktrace
    {noformat}
But I also get a totally unwanted Java stack trace (before my message):
{noformat}This Exception occurred at Fri May 21 15:49:01 CEST 2010.
javax.naming.AuthenticationException [Root exception is java.lang.SecurityException: User: wm714, failed to be authenticated.]
    at weblogic.jndi.internal.ExceptionTranslator.toNamingException(ExceptionTranslator.java:42)
    at weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.toNamingException(WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.java:783)
    at weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.pushSubject(WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.java:677)
    {noformat}
I don't want to confuse the user with all that! I found this:
    http://objectmix.com/weblogic/529822-wlst-exception-handling-unwanted-stack-trace.html
Which discusses WLS.commandExceptionHandler.setSilent(1) I'm running on WLS 10.3.0.0 and can execute that statement but it has no effect. I didn't even know about the WLS-object and I can find no documentation on commandExceptionHandler.
On the matter of verbosity, is there any way to get rid of stuff like:
Location changed to domainRuntime tree. This is a read-only tree with DomainMBean as the root.
For more help, use help(domainRuntime)I avoid using the "interactive" commands like cd and use stuff like getMBean("domainRuntime:/ServerRuntimes/" + appServer.getName()
    + "/JMSRuntime/" + appServer.getName() + ".jms/JMSServers") but I still get the clutter printed out.
    Thanks!

    Workaround:
    wlstOut = tempfile.mktemp(suffix="_wlst.txt")
    redirect(wlstOut, "false")
    ... do useful stuff
    stopRedirect()
os.remove(wlstOut)I would have preffered to turn off the messages (yes I could try /dev/null) but this will do. A funny thing is that the stack trace I wrote about doesn't appear in the log file. Somehow "redirect" must have a nice side effect.
    /Roger

  • Message flow in SAP PI 7.31 JAVA only for ABAP Proxy synchronous scenario with Oracle DB

    Dear Experts,
I am working on a synchronous scenario Sender ABAP Proxy <===> SAP PI 7.31 JAVA only <===> Oracle Database.I have successfully
configured all the proxy configurations as well both Sender SOAP and JDBC receiver channels are showing no error when pinged from
    Cc monitoring in NWA.
1.During testing at Tx SPROXY , I am triggering a message and after 5 minutes I receive an PARSING error message with 2 messages in ECC
    local IE i.e. Tx SXMB_MONI.
Note : In NWA , I can see only 1 message that too in cancelled status.
2.Seeing the trace of the messages I assume that the messages have not moved from sender ECC system. I am still confused with flow of message
from the Message Audit log. Audit log of error messages.Could any one share the full Audit log of a successful message generated in SAP PI 7.31 JAVA only.
3.I observed that the QIN Scheduler status in ECC is in INACTIVE status. There is no queue id for 2 messages generated in ECC. Does
it should in ACTIVE status in Tx SMQR..
    Regards
    Rebecca

    Hi Thomas,
    Valuable inputs..
    1. Since I don't have any audit log for successful message, would you be able to share referring to the
below screenshot whether the message was put into receiver JDBC adapter and JDBC adapter tried to retrieve the Select response from Oracle Database.
2.I have done some setting in Advance mode of the receiver JDBC to increase the time out and other parameters as per SAP note but still the issue is same. If you perhaps have some experience in such scenarios, please share some input so that I can ask the Oracle Database administrator exactly what is required from our side.
3.Regarding the slow response from Oracle , there was some suggestion that the datatype of the request and response should match the column name of the Oracle database. I did that.. Do you have any more suggestion that may be hampering the generation of the response message from the Oracle like SAP note or document.
    Regards
    Rebecca
