Tracing enabled = variable updated to next iteration value before end of current iteration

Hello,
I am facing a weird behaviour with variables and loops. (running Teststand 2010 SP1)
I am iterating over a variable, when tracing is enabled that variable seem to take the value it should take at the next iteration too early.
What I am doing in pdeuso code :
For i=0;i<=20;i++
    For each variable in state
        Pass/Fail test on variable
        Wait 1 s
        Pass/Fail test on variable
    End
End
variable is a boolean
state is an array of boolean containing {false;true}
At each iteration of the inner loop I should get two identical results for the two pass/fail tests.
Something like :
Failed
Failed
Passed
Passed
Failed
Failed
Passed
Passed
But that's not the case and sometimes variable gets a new value between the first and the second tests !
Is there a way to avoid this issue without disabling the tracing and without changing the sequence ?

This should not be happening. Can you reproduce the problem in a simple sequence? If so can you attach such a sequence to this thread.
Most likely there is something else in the sequence that is leading to the issue you describe.

So basically when displaying The DayNo i need to check if this dayno is the same as the next dayno.

How my work will go
Step-1 - I am creating XML FIle which is based on code that we discused before-
Its developing xml file with data in <...inputelement> as u can see in my xml but in <..output> Element of xml its just have all column for exampe <itemoutput>
<FLD NM = "ABC"> 0 </FLD>
<FLD NM = "XYZ:> </FLD> --- for varchar2
</itemoutput>
In 1st stage i am just generating <..INPUT> with its colums and real value from database and <..output> elements will go zero value but with colums name.
Note. I create temp table will all COLUMN which u can see in both in <..ITEMINPUT> and <..ITEMOUTPUT>
Step2.. After Generaing my xml i want to convert my xml data into CLOB not in a file. so clob will go to the VENDOR
STEP3.
I will Recieved again xml data in CLOB from the vendo in <.OUTPUT> ELEMents
for example
I send this format
<itemoutput>
<FLD NM = "ABC"> 0 </FLD>
<FLD NM = "XYZ:> </FLD> --- for varchar2
</itemoutput>
And i will receive it
<itemoutput>
<FLD NM = "ABC VALUE"> 2 </FLD>

</itemoutput>
So will take this output valu from xml clob and will update my staging table .
Which have the same colum name as its look in xml clob.
Step- 4. I will take this value from staging table and update my original oracle database table. which i send you before.
But u leave this step becaue you dont know the staging table colum maping with original table.

A.class has some procedures and String variables which can be updated and later can be used in JSP pages. The project starts with ARunner.jsp which uses the A.class and updates the values of string variables s0 and s1of A to hi and hello respectively.And then redirects the page to MainUser.jsp.
Now what I want is ,when I call those string variables(s0 & s1 of A.class) in any another jsp likeMainUser.jsp it should give me the value of hi and hello respectively not null as it is giving right now. Could you refine the coding for this one?

Variable update with new value

Hallo,
How can i a variable (XML Publisher Syntax <?variable:name?>) one new value assign/update.
e.g.
initialize: <?variable:name?>[value]<?end variable?>
[loop]
new allocate:
<?variable:name?>[value]+1<?end variable?> -> doesn't work
[end loop]
I use the XML Publisher syntax because i use before function "instr".
who can me help. please. I'm to despair.

As I understand you are looking for the Variable handling similar to X=X+1 , and you want to loop this from say 1 to 15.
- I think you just did not include the counter within the loop
- Also you are trying to loop on $YY, which first of all can not be accessed this way. You will have to use xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, 'YY') . Secondly your loop should run against a group of data. It can be a variable like $YY but it should hold such a group of data.
so, assuming that your data is flat and grouped under ROW tag...

Shared variables update in QuickClient but not in Variable Manager

I am using LV 8.6 Developer with the DSC module installed. Also, I'm using WinXP Service Pack 3.
I am trying to create a VI that will interact with an OPC server connected to some equipment.
I've created shared variables to read the value of tags in my OPC server exactly according to the instructions on this page:

For some reason though, the value of the shared value never updates to reflect the value on the server.
When I follow the tag on the OPC QuickClient, it updates just fine, but somehow the value of the shared variable isn't updating.
I also tried retreiving this data using the DataSocket method in the "Multiple OPC Items Monitor.vi" example, but running that VI crashes LabView every time.
Also, I can create a shared variable and write to tags using a VI, but I can't read them.
It seems like I'm *this* close to getting the shared variables to work. Any suggestions?

To answer your questions...
DataSocket: NI doesn't give me the option to investigate the error when I restart the program. I did a search for .cpp files, but none turned up. I did collect the error report that Windows generates, and I attached it. I'm not sure if that would be something useful or not.
SharedVariables: I went to use the Distributed System Manager to take a look at the variables. For both my shared variable as well as the tags on the I/O data source, the data type is listed as "advanced" and the quality is "unknown bad." I collected the logs from the I/O server and attached them. Oddly, when I look through there, I see some Quality=BAD and some VT_ILLEGAL flags. The deadband is set to zero, and the update rate is 1,000ms.
Also, I've configured the DCOM and Local Security Policy settings as described in numerous support articles, and my Windows Firewall is turned off. The OPC server and LabView reside on the same computer.
I suppose the confusing thing is why the QuickClient works fine, but the SVE doesn't.
I've tried this on three different computers with the same results in all cases. Currently, LV and the OPC server is the only software installed on any machine. The only other OPC server I have access to is the LV server, and it seems to work okay.

Update Record Field if Value Not Equal

Hello All,
I am using Toad for Oracle 10. I have a MERGE INTO Process that updates tbl_requisition based on FK - fk_allotment_id that equals parent table tbl_allotment PK - pk_allotment_id. Both tables have create, update and deletes triggers. The process is executed when a Apply Changes/update button is clicked from tbl_allotment. So, all the record data from tbl_allotment updates tbl_requisition record if the fk and pk keys are equal. My problem is if a record is updated within tbl_requisition. Now the record from tbl_requisition is different from tbl_allotment. If any value is updated from tbl_allotment for the matching pk_allotment_id = fk_allotment_id record from tbl_requisition. tbl_allotment record data will override the updated value within tbl_requisition. I would like to only update the values that were updated/changed and are not equal from tbl_allotment to tbl_requisition. Can anyone assist me with this?

If any record value from tbl_allotment_temp was changed that value should not be updated from the MERGE INTO Process within tbl_allotment unless those values have been updated within tbl_allotment. How to enable the "update file" button to update the data template

We have an escalated customer bug that the chinese character does not display correctly on report. We want to update the data template xml file on customer site to test the fix. However, when the customer login using "XML publisher Administrator" responsitility, select function "Data Definitions", search and then update the definition, on the update page, the button "update file" next to "Data Template" is disabled. Anyone know how to enable the button?

Unless until it is a Manual Journal, SLA page doesn't give you the provision to change them.
Even for Manual Journal, it won't allow you to change, if that is transferred to GL.
Only option is to UNDO the accounting and correct the setup to create correct journals. You may contact Oracle Support.

Can we update the Category attibute values of a file with out checkout the file?
I have set the version configuration to folder and try to update the category attribute values of a file under that folder,
It is asking to checkout the file before modifying the category attibute values.
Is it required to checkout the file before modifying the category attribute values of that file?
Is there any way to update the category attribute values without checkout the file?
Please help on this

One of the ways i can think of is using Batch Loader script for large number of files. Mention such files in Batch Loader script, and it will update category and all meta-data required in terms of next revision.
In case number of files are less manual checkout and check-in will help.

TVARV Table Variable Update

Hi All,
We have a requirement to add a new variable to the TVARV Table
I am able to do it thru SM30.
This variable is used in a variant in a program that runs periodically.
the new variant shd be similar to 1001_CURR_MONTH_START_DATE
now the month and the year shd change based on the fiscal period we are in.
The option I have found is to write a program to update the TVARV table and run this program before running the actual FI program.
But there are other variables that seem to be getting updated and I did not find any programs updating them,
So is there some other way that I can update the date in the variable other than the program approach

Best option is through program update , but one thing you need to do is change the TVARV table technical settings. you need to switch off the buffer i.e. select buffering not allowed. Then write a FM or program to update the entry.
Ex:
update tvarv
set low = value " your value
where name = name " your variable name
and type = 'P' " or 'S'
and numb = 0.

Global variable updating

Problem:
If you have a book with ten chapters and use a variable as the issue number in the footer of each page, this results in a long and manual process to update it.
It would save me a lot of time if I could update a variable across all files in a book at the same time.
Proposed solution:
At the moment, variables are only managed in individual .fm files, not in the .book file. You could have a Global Variable Update option in the book window which brings up a dialog allowing you to select any open .fm file (much like the Import Formats window). Then you can select a variable from this .fm file and type a new value for it. The variable will then be updated for all .fm files in the book (or created if no such variable exists).

There is a way to update your single variable definition across your entire book. I'm assuming you want the variable value to be the same in all or in all your selected files as well.
Requirement: The variable you are updating must be named the same in all your files.
Potential Pitfall: If you have Running h/f variables defined differently from file to file, the definitions will be overwritten to what the file you are importing from has defined.
Ok, assuming your variable "issue number" is named the same in all your chapters, make a copy of one of your chapters by saving it out as "importvar.fm" (or whatever).
Now edit the definition of that user variable to what it needs to be. Do not close the variable palette.
In the list of user variables, delete all other user variables, but leave "Issue Number" as the only user defined variable in the palette.
Close the variable palette and save the file.
Select the files in your book that you want to import to. File>Import>Formats (Alt FIO) and select ONLY "Variable Definitions". Select "Import".
Done. In addition to your request for an update to the program, I would like the ability to deselect the system variables from a "Variable Definitions" Import.

Contract Release value is not updated with Limit item value

We have SRM 4.0 with ECS scenario.
Contract are created in SRM and replicated to ERP.
If we create PO with Service line and Limit line using contract in both of these line items, contract Release value is getting updated only with Service line item value.
But the contract Total value is the addition of Service and Limit value of PO.
Why Contract Release value is not getting updated with Limit item value. Please help as early as possible.

Yes. there are various reasons .upon your contract incorrect status and linkage not establised / or more attachment in SRM GOA.
what type of contract are you using? GOA or CCTR
If it is GOA - which version of SRM and service pack ?are you in ?
If it is a GOA , BLAREL idoc might failed to post the release value in the SRM .
How contracts are created material / mat group ?
to fix or understand the issue, you need to recreate the issue.
what is the ERROR in BLAREL in SRM idoc monitoring ?

I have created a user 'Bitest' and group 'Bi_Test_Group'. Assigned the user to the group and the group to BI consumer role.
I gave access to only procurement and spend catalog folder reports and Dashboards.
When I login to BI Presentation Services with above created user and open any procurement and spent catalog dashboard i am getting below error in every report.
Its BI Apps 7.9.6.3 installation.I gave read access to group to all procurement and spent subject area.
