Track changes-deletions shown in bubbles v. cross out in text

Is there an option of showing deletions as cross-outs in the text rather than in bubbles on the side (like the option available in Word)?

mhn,
When Tracking is On, you have controls at the bottom of the Tool Bar. Every option you could desire is there regarding what is displayed with respect to tracking. See page 70 of the English version of the Pages 09 User Guide PDF.

  • Tracking Changes - Deleted Images

When deleting a floating image while tracking changes, gray bubbles with a slash mark through them appear where the image was. Is there a way to get rid of them while still tracking changes? They're an annoyance, especially when I try to insert and align new images.
    Thanks!

Pause tracking while you do the floating object delete. You can always add a comment regarding the deletion.

  • Co-author cannot access track change and add/delete scenes

My co-author cannot access track change or add/delete scenes. Is it a bug or is there a setting that I did not set correctly.  I shared the document as co-author several times with the same results. Any help would be appreciated Thank you Brice

    Hi there,
Unfortunately, currently only owner of the document has the right to turn on/off track changes or accept/reject changes. Co-author can still view the document as Original or Final from Review menu or even navigate through the changes using Next Change/Previous Change. Extending the track changes rights to co-author as well is being considered on our backlog of items to do.
Meanwhile, the co-author should still be able to go ahead and edit existing text, add new text, delete existing text and it should be getting tracked.
Do keep providing us your feedback on the track changes feature. Your feedback is extremely important to us and helps us to improve.
    Thanks

  • In i-tunes, is it possible to change/delete artwork without deleting the track?

In i-tunes, is it possible to change/delete artwork without deleting the track? If so, How?

Highlight a track. File > Get Info, then click the artwork tab.

  • Remove time stamp in track changes bubble

Is there any way to remove the time stamp from the Track Changes bubble? I can't seem to find a way to do it. Maybe it just can't be done?

It seems that time_stamping the changes is a logical feature.
As far as I know, we can't disable it.

  • Embedded graphic in deleted text in a tracked change (CS4)

I Placed a Word file full of tracked changes and graphics. When I check the list of links (all embedded at this point), the first one is marked with page "DT". When I try to Go To it tells me "Cannot show link: The selected item is in deleted text in a tracked change."
I didn't know ID understood tracked changes, except in that it seems to accept all of them as it imports. I guess I could just ignore it there, but its presence offends me. Whatever it is, it's something I don't want. How can I get rid of it?
    Ken

Sorry to keep bumping this, but I'm amazed no one else has run into it yet.
Should be fairly easy to test: Open Word, put some text in, turn on Track Changes, add a picture, delete the picture, save the file, Place in IDCS4 with "Track Changes for InCopy" turned on. You should get the embedded picture listed in Links with no way to get rid of it.
If someone can describe to me how to take this through InCopy (do I have InCopy?) maybe I can get rid of it that way.
It's gotten worse: I thought I'd be smart and unembed it and delete the linked file. Now I'm constantly reminded that it's [not] there when I open the file.

  • Track changes showing multiple entries for a single change?

Hi there .. I'm using Pages '09 v4.1 to edit MS Word '97 documents. I've been using the 'track changes' feature to work on chapters in a book and have done so with no problems so far (about 6 chapters so far in separate files). I went to start the next chapter and noticed that when I make a single change such as highlighting a word and making it italic, the tracking bubbles will show up as individual entries for every letter instead of for a single word. The really annoying thing is that it's not consistent .. some whole-word changes show up as a single entry, while some show as a few entries but don't necessarily correspond to how many letters are in the word being changed. When I try deleting specific tracking bubbles to see which part of the word they correspond to, it varies. For example, if I put the word "similar" in italics on page one, paragraph one, it shows up as 2 entries. When I delete the last entry, "imilar" will go back to standard font, while "s" stays italic until I delete the other entry. It's as though the words in the document are being recognized based on something other than the obvious, and certain letters are being grouped together in the program's brain, while others are separate.
It's not isolated to italics, btw. If I reformat the entire document to be left-aligned instead of center-aligned, it will show lots of separate tracking bubbles in various places through the document, rather than showing one bubble for my single change.
I've tried duplicating and saving a new version of the document, as well as creating a new doc and pasting everything into that and saving as a new doc, though I wasn't sure if this would carry over the problem .. It did.
It's not the end of the world as far as finishing this job, but it's pretty annoying and will be worse for the person who ultimately verifies the changes I've made. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Reports to track changes on Deliveries and Sales order

    Hi All
Do you perhaps know of a specific report that could possibly track changes made to a Sales order and delivery at line item level.
The problem is change log only logs the deletion of the line item but not the actual material number.
Do we have to enhance existing reports to achieve visibility for deletion of line items.
    Regards
    KC

    Hi Lakshi
Thank you very much for that feedback the thing is that you can search that on an order per order basis and even when you get to the change log you will not be able to see what material number was deleted.
    That is the problem.
Has anyone experienced this wher the requirement was to have a report to run so see what changes have been made to orders or deliveries that they could view wholistically.
    Kind Regards

  • Is there a way to retain the track changes from a Microsoft Word document when working on a IPAD word processing App?

I am going on a work trip and want to be able to collaborate with my colleagues, almost all of whom will be using Microsoft Word on Microsoft Windows laptops and I want to draft and collaborate on documents.  The approach we always take to such collaboration is to use the track changes feature in Microsoft Word that shows changes and who made the changes. As best I could tell apples Pages software ignores the notations added by the track changes features and accepts all changes to the document making it difficult to see what changes were made and by whom.
I would appreciate any suggestions to address this challenge.

I noted from some similar topics that Pages seems to support track changes but that while it reflects deletions made in Microsoft Word, it does not appear to show them -- is there a way to fix this problem?

  • Exporting Track Changes to Word no longer works

Just like it says in the subject line: It used to be that I could get a Word doc with Track Changes on and comments from my editor, do my own changes/add comments, then export it as a Word doc no problem. Now Pages either refuses to export the document or mangles it when exporting, causing certain changes to be automatically accepted or declined.
I was hoping that today's iCloud update for iWork would have this little bug fix in it, but no luck. Has anyone else encountered this and does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix it?
    Thanks!

I think your problem could be a simple one of corrupt preferences. I think Yvan's script removes them, but maybe not. When something that used to work stops doing so, the most likely culprit is corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file & then restart Pages. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list.

  • How to track changes on Infoprovider?

    Hi Gurus,
Could you please provide the steps of how to track changes on Infoprovider? I had 4 Infocubes (belonging to the same info area) that contains compressed data - but now when I tried to display the data, all the cube are empty - no data were aechived.
I would like to track any actions that were made on those cubes.
    Thanks

thanks Kumar for helping me out here
I tried RSD_CUBE_LOG_DELE function module - It came out "no logs found in the database"
I tried tables RSDRDLOGHEADER and RSDDSTATDELE which provide me deletion informations like user name... but since we have partially archived those specific infoproviders in the same period of time where I think eveything was gone from cube, I am not able to related when and who the data that were not archived were deleted from Infocube
Under manage Infocube --> archiving tab, all the created archiving request are only for certain dates (below 2006). I know that we had data above 2006.
    Kindly provide additional inputs.
    Thanks

  • How to track changes in a text editor

How can I track text change events in JTextField?
    Events: insert, delete, simple typing.
I want know what text was before event and what it get after.

As the API documentation for JTextField says:
"In the JTextComponent based components, changes are broadcasted from the model via a DocumentEvent to DocumentListeners. The DocumentEvent gives the location of the change and the kind of change if desired."
Carry on reading from that point and you will see some examples.

I'm looking at trying to produce a basic track changes report for a document.
I have had a quick look at the track changes section of the scripting user guide, and while i appeart to get all sorts of information about the change but actually using it does appear to be tricky
Simply put is it possible to acces each of the changes in a story and highlight them (dependent on type) as you see in the story editor?
And if so any pointers as to how i go about this

  • Office for Mac 2011: Tips for speeding up Word when using tracked changes and comments?

I run a fresh installation of Office for Mac 2011 (v. 14.4.1) on a brand new Macbook Pro 13" Retina 2.4GHz with 16GB RAM running 10.9.2. The Office package is fully up-to-date.
I mainly use Word and find that it is extremely slow when I track changes. Documents need not be particularly large - even in a 30-page document after a few pages of tracks typing becomes a pain, in particular in comment bubbles where the text shows up letter-by-letter and only finish several seconds after I've stopped typing. Other programs run at the same time do not suffer from this horrible lag.
I have searched and seen that this is not uncommon so it appears that Microsoft's coders are not particularly well versed in coding for Mac.
My question is if other users have found ways to improve the situation, for instance by trashing plists or something like that? This is really driving me crazy
    Many TIA

  • How does Time Machine track changes?

My Leopard upgrade got stuck with a minute to go - I had to hold down the power button to restart my Mac, but to my surprise Leopard launched and everything seemed to work fine. I set up Time Machine and it's been running without problems, backing up to my 2nd internal drive. The only problem I noticed was that a few hidden files weren't hidden - presumably it hadn't finished cleaning up after itself. So, I carried on using Leopard until today when I finally decided it might be a good idea to run the installer again. The installation completed fine, and everything is running nicely.
My question is: will time machine track any changes that have been made from re-running the installer, or does it only track changes that are made while Leopard is running? Should I switch off Time Machine, delete the backups, and start again, or will it handle these changes?

When I log back into 10.8 Mountain Lion and Time Machine does it's normal back up thing, does it recognize changes that were made to internal disks, folders, and files that were made when I was previously booted into 10.7 Lion?
    Yes.
