Track in historical reporting when a user press a option

I am trying to figure how to track and what report to pull that will show me say how many times a when the script is called that a say option 1 was pushed and they were transfered out either to a queue or to another phone number? I have some users requesting this data.

The cheap and cheerful way is to do this:
1) In your script, when a user selects an option, use a 'Set Enterprise Data' step to set either one of custom variable 1-10, caller entered digits, or account number (entered digits or a custom var would make most sense) to a value that indicates the choice that was made. For example, write the string 'Option 1' if one is pressed, or 'Technical Support' if 2 is pressed and the option is 'technical support'
2) Run the Historical Reports Client and generate a 'Call Custom Variables' report. That can then be exported to Excel and filtered or pivot-tabled to find the counts of each option.

Avoid the deletion of delivery when the user press the delete button

Hi guys,
In VL02N transaction, when the user press the button for delete the delivery (trash button) i have to send an idoc to an external system in order to inform about. Im using IF_EX_LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC~DELIVERY_DELETION for this and it works fine.
After send the idoc i have to stop the deletion process. So How i can avoid the delivery deletion? I can change some flag in this BADI or maybe i can do something in userexit_delete_document? I dont find the way.

HI,
In the method SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE; try to pass some error messages in the parameter CT_LOG.
This should raise some messages before saving and the data will not be saved and hence delivery will not be deleted.

Check that you still have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar

How to show list of items when the user pressed tab key in an empty field

i would like to know if there is a way to open a form with items list which will be shown to the user when he pressed the tab key within a field for instance "item code" field will present a search form with a table filled with item codes and their description.
i'm currently working in 2004 version. i know how to catch the event.
i'm creating a form with a matrix object binded to a datasource which is connected to the data base table which contains all the items.
what would like to know if there is a better way to this. maybe using buisness partner objects. and if so how

You Should use Formatted Search in this case.
You must create and associate a query for your field.
click on the field you want items to be listed and press Shift + F2
catch the keydown event of this field and check pval.charpressed = 9 (tab key press)
then execute

Generate an error when a user presses a button

I want to be able to give the user the option of exiting the program when ever he wants. I was thinking of having a button that would generate an error. The error number must be unique because i want to read it later. Is that possible? Any help will be appreciated

You cannot exit from a for loop until it is done. Use a while loop instead. Also, using the event structure in this case causes all kinds of exit problems. Try it and you will see what I mean. Instead, use the abort button itself. Put a case statement at the end to give the error output if the abort button was pressed. See attached vi.

I have a problem that appear only when a lot of users are running at the same time
that I have an editable form that have save button some times when I press save the current row that I edit is changed or return null row.
for example imagine that I edit employee that has Id = 50 when a lot of users running on the application at the same time when I press save the record changed to another employee that has id = 49 or returns empty form

Hi Sridhar,
Within the table control loop, create a chain of all the fields in the structure of line type. call a PAI module with addition ON CHAIN-REQUEST. This is a conditional module call which will be triggered ONLY when user changes something on the screen. In this module you can set a global variable DATA_CHANGED to say 'X'. When user chooses BACK function, check this global variable to decide on the confirmation popup.
One small caution. If you have the ROW SELECTION field also included in the line type of your internal table associated with the table control, you need to exclude that from the CHAIN of fields above; otherwise even when user selects a line or de-selects, this module will be triggered.
Read ON CHAIN-REQUEST and ON REQUEST online ABAP help for more clarity.

HFM: How to restrict user to generate reports when there is a data load process going on?

Hi Experts,
I want to get some idea on how we can restrict one user of generating report when another user is loading the data for the same entity, assuming both the users were at different location and there is no communication between them.
i am dealing same kind of problem in HFM. we have many users created, some users will be loading the data using FDMEE while some users will be generating the reports. the problem arises when one user is loading the data for a particular entity and at the same time another generates the report for the same entity. this shows wrong data in the reports as the data's were not updated.
please suggest how we can come out of this problem.

I thought for a while that I could solve the problem creating a parameter in the main report and casting the first argument of my subreportprocesssing event handler to LocalReport and setting the parameter using the SetParameters method of the LocalReport
object indicating when there was data to show or not. But this doesn't worked , the parameter value remains the same when I use it in expressions to change the visibility property of my subreports.

Preventing app exiting when user presses cross button

Hello,
I can't seem to prevent the whole application closing down when the user presses the cross button at the top of any of the forms. For example I have a menu form which I want to keep running whilst the user closes other forms which are shown from it.
Any suggestions?

I could be wrong, but I thought that the default
behavior of a JDialog is to not close the whole app
when it closes. Is that not correct?You are correct, sir. The only way an application closes is by explicitly telling it to do so by EXIT_ON_CLOSE.

UCCX Historical Report Error

Hi,
I installed the program Cisco Historical Reports on a user's machine. When I try to launch it, I get "unexpected error, quiting" When I try to uninstall it, I get "Error opening installation log file, Verify that the specficied log file location exists and is writable. " When I say OK I get error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support, Action caUninstallDBDriverMsiexec, location\hrcdbdriver..." If I run the repair tool, I get the same error.
Please advise how I can get rid of this error message.

Error message "Enter a Printer" when the user clicks on PO out put preview

Dear SRM Gurus,
We are using SRM 5.5 extended classic scenario. When the user presses on Output Preview of PO we are getting a message that "Enter a Printer" and not able to see the preview. This messge we are getting for some particular PO's and for other we are able to see the preview.

Please maintain default Printer for Organizational user in PPOMA_BBP (Attribute - PRI)...
In PPOMA_BBP, your purch org must be defined under (or at the same level as) a company. This company org id (defined in function tab) will be used to read address and use it as "contact" addresse. Check this point, correct if necessary and tell me if this is ok.

Actually, in testing something else with Thunderbird as the receiving email client, I found that blanks in the Full Name entry box works when the recipient does not have a history with you. My earlier tests were from one account to another of my accounts, but viewing the received message in Mail. Mail knew the address so added the Full Name from history. The Thunderbird I was testing another issue with, was a virgin installation, and had the same recipient account, but not the sending one, setup. In Thunderbird only the actual email address came in, and no name.
