Transfer multiple rows to function module
Hi Friends,
I have th following requirement.
In Visula composer I have 1 Input table.
Here I read rows from material master and I have a checkbox and a button transfer.
And I have a second table view with similar fields.
In the first table view I check several rows and when I press transfer.
Now I want all the checked rows of table view 1 to appear in table view 2.
For this reason I want to create a FM to keep the data in a table I have created.
In fact, I want to transfer the rows from table view 1 in a temp table and from there into table view 2.
But how can I transfer multiple rows from visual composer into the temp table by means of FM.
Many thanks for your help.
RG. Jimbob
Connect your table view 1 to your FM (make sure you flip the table on your FM to a input port).
Select the connector you just created and configure element. Set mapping scope to 'Selected Data Rows'.

Problem in transfer rules-- Calling the function module.
Hi All,
when we r extracting the data from r3, the infoobject 0wbs_elem the data pulled is in internal format in which wbs element is stored.
wbs element gets stored in a different way compared to front end.
Eg. The external format is /abc/123 the internal format is 00012300.
I have written a transfer routine using the function module CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_OUTPUT.
the code goes like this
data ifield(30) type c.
call function CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_OUTPUT
Exporting
input = tran_structure-wbselem (Field in transfer structure---name of the field in source system) .
Importing
output = ifield.
result = ifield.
End of code.
Problem
When I am Scheduling the package the job doesnt get completed for a long time and fails. Is there a problem with the code. When trying for the Simulation of the datapackets, the system says no data package number could be determined.
Please help me out...
Thank You
MaheshHi Mahesh,
Could you please check ST22 and see if there is any short dumps ?
try to do test run for the FMs using SE37 and see what is the output for your input.
Do you have PSA for the load ? It may also have been deleted. You get this message when there is no PSA available.
hope it helps

Multiple Instance Push Function Module
All,
I am referring to the service order tutorial as given in following link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/45/ac4bed74372733e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
I have succefully created the Data Object/BAPI Wrappers and other objects. Everything works perfectly fine. Now I am trying to create a "Intance PUSH" function module in Mobile Server that will be called from backend to push the service orders. Till now using the same structure as in the tutorial I can send PUSH one instance. However I was wondering what if I have to PUSH Multiple instance at one shot.
I am confused as to how should the structures for the same should look like. In the example given here, the customer node and equipment node do not have the order ID parameter in it. So when I have to push the same, how will the system know which instance of customer/equipment belongs to which instance of orderheader.
If any one can clarify the same it will be really great.
Regards,
ShubhamThe backend key added by the DOE is a 'generated' field (and therefore internal to the DOE). This is why it is not exposed in the instance push FM.
When you do not switch on automatic keymapping, the DOE creates this generated field, and fills it after calling GetDetail in the case of a delta download or a key push (since getdetail itself is called per instance, resolution is simple).
If you switch on automatic keymapping, DOE will try to find existing backend fields in the child which match the root keys. (i.e. by name and type), and use these to resolve the children. If it cannot find such fields in the child that match the root keys, it will again generate fields on its own. And again these generated fields will be filled by the DOE after calling GetDetail during a delta load or key push.
However, in the case of Instance Push, the only way to let the DOE resolve child instances is to send a field from the backend itself (i.e. not generated), which can be used to resolve the child instances (because GetDetail is not called in this case)
If you do multiple instance push with the example given without changes, I am not sure if resolution will happen.
An alternative to automatic keymapping is 'explicit keymapping' where you yourself decide which backend field in the child maps to which backend KEY in the parent (at all levels).

Multiple selection in Function Module
Hi Experts,
Can we go for mutiple selection in our own Function Module? How we can go for mutiple selection in our own Function Module? Anyone help me.
Example:
we have to give multiple input values for company code when we execute the function module .
suppose import parameter are
company code 3000
4000
5000
6000
plant 3215
matnr 100002992
i have to select the records based on this multiple company codes. Here i want multiple selection for company code.Hi ,
I agree with Suresh.
It is my mistake I thought you are using standard function.

Transfer ALV Output through Function Module
Hi All,
I have a requirement where I am dealing with two systems.
1) There is a report program which run in ECC Server and it makes an RFC Call to trigger another program in APO Server
2) The target program generates an ALV Output and I just want to bring back the output into ECC system
3) How to achieve this ? How can transport the AVL Output throug the parameters of the RFC Function Module.
Any help/clue on this would be highly appreciated
Thanks,
Babu KilariHello Babu,
If you are submitting the standard report in background mode, try this algo:
1. You can export the output list to the ABAP memory using the EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY.
2. Then get the list details using the FM: LIST_FROM_MEMORY. Return the resultant internal table to your RFC.
Hope this helps.

Effect of Multiple cursors in Function Module Extractors
Hi,
I am trying to use multiple cursors in an FM extractor, like this:
OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD c1 FOR <select query 1>.
OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD c2 FOR <select query 2>.
FETCH NEXT CURSOR c1
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS
OF TABLE i_equi.
FETCH NEXT CURSOR c2
APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS
OF TABLE i_equi.
" Further processing of equipments
" obtained in i_equi
I am also checking SY-SUBRC, after each Fetch statement. If both cursors happen to be empty, the extractor exits by raising no_more_data, like other extractors.
It is possible to do so, since I just tried it. The question is, are there any disadvantages of this kind of approach in terms of memory or speed?

Function Groups and Function Modules
Hi,
Can anyone give me the detail steps for creating Function Group and then from that function group creation of function module with example?
Regards,
ChandruHi,
Function Group creation -
A function group is a program that contains function modules. With each R/3 system, SAP supplies more than 5,000 pre-existing function groups.
In total, they contain more than 30,000 function modules. If the functionality you require is not already covered by these SAP-supplied function modules, you can also create your own function groups and function modules.
We can put all the relevant function modules under one function group and all the global variables can be declared in this FG.
FG Creation:
1) Function group can be created in SE80. There choose the 'Function Group' from the list of objects.
2) Then give a name for ur function group (starts with Y or Z) and press ENTER.
3) The click 'YES' in the create object dialog box and give a short desc. for this FG and save.
Function Module:
A function module is the last of the four main ABAP/4 modularization units. It is very similar to an external subroutine in these ways:
Both exist within an external program.
Both enable parameters to be passed and returned.
Parameters can be passed by value, by value and result, or by reference.
The major differences between function modules and external subroutines are the following:
Function modules have a special screen used for defining parameters-parameters are not defined via ABAP/4 statements.
tables work areas are not shared between the function module and the calling program.
Different syntax is used to call a function module than to call a subroutine.
Leaving a function module is accomplished via the raise statement instead of check, exit, or stop.
A function module name has a practical minimum length of three characters and a maximum length of 30 characters. Customer function modules must begin with Y_ or Z_. The name of each function module is unique within the entire R/3 system.
Defining Data within a Function Module
Data definitions within function modules are similar to those of subroutines.
Within a function module, use the data statement to define local variables that are reinitialized each time the function module is called. Use the statics statement to define local variables that are allocated the first time the function module is called. The value of a static variable is remembered between calls.
Define parameters within the function module interface to create local definitions of variables that are passed into the function module and returned from it (see the next section).
You cannot use the local statement within a function module. Instead, globalized interface parameters serve the same purpose. See the following section on defining global data to learn about local and global interface parameters.
Defining the Function Module Interface
To pass parameters to a function module, you must define a function module interface. The function module interface is the description of the parameters that are passed to and received from the function module. It is also simply known as the interface. In the remainder of this chapter, I will refer to the function module interface simply as the interface.
To define parameters, you must go to one of two parameter definition screens:
1) Import/Export Parameter Interface
2) Table Parameters/Exceptions Interface
Then in the FM interface screen, give the following
1) Import parameters
2) Export parameters
3) Changing parameters
Then give
1) Define internal table parameters
2) Document exceptions
You enter the name of the parameter in the first column and the attributes of the parameter in the remaining columns. Enter one parameter per row.
Import parameters are variables or field strings that contain values passed into the function module from the calling program. These values originate outside of the function module and they are imported into it.
Export parameters are variables or field strings that contain values returned from the function module. These values originate within the function module and they are exported out of it.
Changing parameters are variables or field strings that contain values that are passed into the function module, changed by the code within the function module, and then returned. These values originate outside the function module. They are passed into it, changed, and passed back.
Table parameters are internal tables that are passed to the function module, changed within it, and returned. The internal tables must be defined in the calling program.
An exception is a name for an error that occurs within a function module. Exceptions are described in detail in the following section.
Syntax for the call function Statement
The following is the syntax for the call function statement.
call function 'F'
[exporting p1 = v1 ... ]
[importing p2 = v2 ... ]
[changing p3 = v3 ... ]
[tables p4 = it ... ]
[exceptions x1 = n [others = n]].
where:
F is the function module name.
p1 through p4 are parameter names defined in the function module interface.
v1 through v3 are variable or field string names defined within the calling program.
it is an internal table defined within the calling program.
n is any integer literal; n cannot be a variable.
x1 is an exception name raised within the function module.
The following points apply:
All additions are optional.
call function is a single statement. Do not place periods or commas after parameters or exception names.
The function module name must be coded in uppercase. If it is coded in lowercase, the function will not be found and a short dump will result.
Use the call function statement to transfer control to a function module and specify parameters. Figure 19.9 illustrates how parameters are passed to and received from the function module.

Multiple row select for table not working..
Hi Experts,
I have a table in ABAP Web Dynpro where I have enabled the multiple row select functionality. I can select all and deselect all. I can also select a block of adjacent rows of table by choosing first and last by pressing Shift key.
But I am not able to select multiple individual records for that table.
I tried the same thing in different system and it works fine there.
Please let me know if we are missing some standard plugin or we need to enable this in some settings.
System where the issue is:
SAP_APPL: release 600, level 18
SAP_BASIS: Release 700, level 22
System where it is working fine:
SAP_APPL: release 604, level 8
SAP_BASIS: release 701, level 8

How to create a function that returns multiple rows in table
Dear all,
I want to create a funtion that returns multiple rows from the table (ex: gl_balances). I done following:
-- Create type (successfull)
Create or replace type tp_gl_balance as Object
PERIOD_NAME VARCHAR2(15),
CURRENCY_CODE VARCHAR2(15),
PERIOD_TYPE VARCHAR2(15),

How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service
Hi Experts,
I have Three RFC function modules and i need to create one web service for these three RFC function modules. I know How to crearte a web service for one function module.
please suggest me How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service.
Thanks in advance
LakshminarayanaHi Lakshmi,
The best way to do it is to assign all the three RFC Enabled FM's to one function group. Later on the top menu in Utilities you get an option to Create a Webservice from a Function Group.
You can create one single Webservice using all the the 3 FM's.
I hope this helps.

Generic datasource by function module to fetch data from multiple tables?
I'm writing a function module to fetch price, for generic datasource.
At first, extract test is OK. But InfoPackage never stop when loading data to PSA in BW.
And I find the example codes:
OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD S_CURSOR FOR
SELECT (S_S_IF-T_FIELDS) FROM SFLIGHT
WHERE CARRID IN L_R_CARRID AND
CONNID IN L_R_CONNID.
ENDIF. "First data package ?
* Fetch records into interface table.
* named E_T_'Name of extract structure'.
FETCH NEXT CURSOR S_CURSOR
APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS
OF TABLE E_T_DATA
PACKAGE SIZE S_S_IF-MAXSIZE.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
CLOSE CURSOR S_CURSOR.
RAISE NO_MORE_DATA.
ENDIF.
S_COUNTER_DATAPAKID = S_COUNTER_DATAPAKID + 1.
ENDIF.
There using Cursor to fetch data package by package, and raise exception NO_MORE_DATA to stop the loading process.
Now I fetch data from multiple tables, I don't think I can use Cursor.
Then How can I handle this?
Thanks a lot.Thanks

wa_fieldcatalog-input = 'X'.
for that field.
and
Now when you use FM ' Reuse alv grid display '
define USER_COMMAND
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'

t_outtab = t_disp.
and now in form USER_COMMAND ; code as per following
FORM user_command USING r_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
