Transfer Preferences

Is there a way to transfer Bridge Preferences and Workspaces directly from CS4 to CS5?

when i ugraded from 4 to 5 all the keywords (structure) were imported automatically from 4.
not sure about the workspace's as i don't alter them too much from standard.
though i can confirm that favourtes and collections didn't transfer in bridge CS5.

  • Transfer preferences from v 10.1.2 to v 10.1.3

    Hi,
I wonder, can I easily transfer my preferences (color schema) from JDeveloper 10.1.2 to v 10.1.2?
I'm lazy and dont want to go through the whole "chanbang" again ;-)
Is there a XML file that I could copy?
Is it also possible to copy it to SQL Developer ?
    TIA

    Fred,
If you start JDeveloper from the command line using 'jdev -migrate' the dialog which was originally shown to you when you invoked JDev for the first will be displayed again so that you can select your system directory.
Any preferences that you have already made in 10.1.3 will be overwritten I think!
If you do the above, you don't need to worry about a new installation.

  • How to Transfer Preferences (Passwords, etc.)

When running Safari 2.0.4 and transferring it from one Mac to another, how do I transfer things like Password settings, so I don't have to #$($($#%(@!! re-enter all of them again?
Thank you and enjoy the leftovers.

This forum is intended for issues with & discussion relating to Apple's applications "Mail" & "Address Book." You will get better results posting your problem to a more appropriate forum area, like Safari or Installation & Setup.
That said, make sure you are complying with Apple's license agreement (one copy of the OS purchased per Mac) & use Migration Assistant if appropriate to transfer all your prefs, etc. to a new Mac.

  • What is the easiest way to transfer preferences between accounts?

In my living room, I have a MacBook Pro that I use as a media center of sorts (it's nice not having to use the TV as a display when it's not wanted). I've been using it logged into my admin account, but recently I enabled FileVault2 encryption because of a job requirement (the laptop belongs to my employer), and so automatic login has been disabled. Not only Elana, but the babysitters use it, so I'm thinking that I need to create a standard account for them. The problem is that I have iTunes music library, EyeTV, and other settings associated with that admin account (although the music and videos themselves reside on an external FireWire hard disk).
I can't change that admin account to a standard account can I? If not, how can I easily transfer the settings and even have the music shared between the two accounts?

You could just create a new Admin account and then change the other back to standard. However, you would have to disable filevault, wait for it to decrypt, then enable it again so you could give that new account the ability to decrypt the hard drive.
But, you're gonna have to do that anyway for whatever account you create. There doesn't appear to be a way to enable new users to decrypt the hard drive. It has to be set up when you encrypt: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4790

  • FCP7 Log and Transfer, Unsupported Media . . .

Last night I used two different SDHC cards in my Canon Vixia HFS100.  FCP7 will import clips via Log and Transfer from one, but not the other.  It just ignores everything on it (but I have 1.4 GB of recordings on it).
When I copy the card to a hard drive and point Log and Transfer to that folder, I get the message "CANON contains  unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure"
Before using this card, I did a full initization of the card.  I compared the directory structures of the two.  They appear identical.  I haven't messed with either in the Finder.
How do I tell what is wrong?  How do I fix it?  Or should I just try converting with something like Voltaic?  I'm an FCP beginner.  So, I would rather not stray too far from its work flow.
    Thanks!

On the card that you are having trouble with:
    1) make sure there are no still images
    2) make sure there is no non-hd video (log and transfer works with AVCHD HD video clips, not MPEG SD clips)
    3) if possible, all the hd video clips should be of one quality/size/format setting
    4) in the log and transfer window, click on the gear shaped icon in the top center of the screen to set the Log and Transfer Preferences:
Set the Import Preferences for AVCHD to Plain Stereo:
Click OK, then restart FCP, reconnect the camera and try again.

  • How to Get XDCAM Transfer files into FCP scratch disk locations

    Hi
I'm new to XDCAM transfer. I have XDCAM Browser and Transfer, latest versions. I have successfully imported into FCP, but I was surprised to see the footage stored in a default 'Movies' location. I thought, okay, I'll just change the import location in the XDCAM Transfer preferences to the FCP scratch disk location but then I realized that since I have multiple scratch disk locations I would be defeating the way FCP works, which is to to automatically go to the location with the room for the files.
I didn't have this problem with Panasonic P2.
Is there a way to import XDCAM files into FCP and have it go to the scratch disk locations already established in FCP?
    Thank you,
    Phil

    Hi Phil
Although XDCAM Transfer can be launched from within FCP (using the File > Import > Sony XDCAM.. command) the app itself is standalone and works outside of the control of FCP. It has no means of discovering and using the Capture Scratch location defined within FCP (because Apple do not provide any means for a third party app to do so).
The Panasonic P2 format is (can be) transfered directly using FCP's own Log and Transfer interface and so works wholly within FCP hence the target directory for imports honors the defined Capture Scratch location.
If you are working with the XDCAM EX series of camera's then you can use Sony's FCP Log and Transfer plugin (PDZK - LT1) instead of XDCAM Transfer to import your clips, and so achieve the functionality you are looking for. Although you lose some of the flexibility/functionality of the standalone XDCAM Transfer app (PDZK-P1) the benefit of handling everything directly with FCP's own interface might be preferable for you.
    Hope it helps

  • Log and transfer mod/moi files

FCP will recognize my SD card and files from a Canon Fs300 camera on one of my machines but not the other. If I check log and transfer preferences - it has a MPEG source format. How did I get that and what do I do to get it on my other machines.
    Thanks

Download Canon's FCP Log & Transfer installer. L&C is a plugin architecture, and Panasonic is the only one that comes built in (cause they helped develop it). Search Canon's site, download, install.

  • Canon 7d import preferences 422 not offered

    Hello,
I am starting a project editing canon 7d ftg.
I installed the canon plug in for log and transfer (CE110X).
In the preferences under canon E1 the only target format offered is ProRes 4444
which I am pretty sure is overkill.
Can you guys tell me how to have prores 422 as an option?
    Where did I go wrong?
    Thanks Much!

    6GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-Dimm

This is in the log and transfer preferences? You can't click on ProRes 4444 and no more options appear?

  • Log and Transfer: Options besides Apple Pro Res 422 ?

Hi,  I am now using a camcorder that records files to a card. When I use Log and Transfer in FCP, the resulting files default to Apple Pro Res 422, which are absolutely huge.  Is there a way to set this up to transfer to a smaller file type, maybe of a quality similar to HDV?
    Thanks, BOb

There's a reason HDV files are small - they're highly compressed files.  Final Cut is a professional product - it's built for high quality video, which requires storage space.
In some instances can change Log and Transfer preferences to transcode to ProRes422 LT, which is a lighter weight version of ProRes422.  The files will be smaller, but they probably won't be as small as you're hoping they will be.
Open the Log and Transfer window.  On the upper region there will be a gear, pick that and pick preferences.  Find the camera type you're using and change the Target Format to ProRes422 LT if possible.  As you did not tell us what kind of camera this is it is impossible to tell which one you need to change.
All that said, storage is pretty cheap.  If you don't do a whole lot of editing a 320gb G-Drive Slim for $80 would be a great investment.  If that isn't an option and you really need small files I would suggest editing in iMovie.  I believe it converts everything to H.264, which is very small in comparison to ProRes.  Don't try editing H.264 in FCP.

  • Random crashes when doing routine editing, then log & transfer

I have been experiencing crashes when performing simple editing then returning to Log & Transfer to pull in more footage into the project. I did a permissions repair which seemed to work for a short time - but now it is crashing again. I also followed Shane's advice to disable the Remove Advanced Pulldown and Multiple Frames setting in the Log & Transfer preferences. I have a new MacBook Pro 2.66 ghz and new Final Cut Studio with Final Cut Pro 7.
Here is a portion of the error log - this is basically the same error when the crash occurs:

  • JavaMail transfer status?

    Hey there...
Being new to the JavaMail API, I'm interested in knowing whether there's a way to be notified about the transfer progress of the mail being sent or received.
For example if I'm sending a mail with a size of say...2mb, I would certainly like to display a progress bar to the user, indicating how much data remains to be sent.
Hoping for some helpful replies :)
    Regards,
    Morten

    Make sure:
    • Your Easy Setup matches your footage specs.
    • Your Log and Transfer preferences are set to +Plain Stereo.+ Click the "gear" button in the upper right of the window and choose preferences, then set your audio to plain stereo.
    • In the same preferences window, hit the +Clear Logging Autofill Cache+ button.
If all else fails, try trashing your preferences:

  • Bridge Transfer Status

Currently my buddy (Claudio) is trying to deploy an IVR application to transfer calls to  long distance so the user don't have a toll charge on his bill account.
He's using CVP Standalone and doing a bridge transfer.
If the incoming caller hangs up, there doesn't seem to be a way (within VxmlServer) to determine whether he hung up before the outgoing call was answered or after the outgoing call was answered.
Does anyone know if there's a way to determine if the outgoing call was ever answered? If so, would it be available in a variable (like in a 'shadow' variable on the vxml gateway) that could be returned to vxml server?
Any kind of help or ideas are appreciated as well.
    Thanks,
    Janine (for Claudio)

  • GTS- Preference Indicator not copied to Order

    Hi ,
We have maintained a preference indicator for a material in GTS and while Sales order created , the indicator not copied to the order item level.
Please advise what needs to be check.
    Regards
    Nag

    Hi Nag,
Please check and confirm that whether the Transfer Preference Indicator is checked in the Control Settings for Application Type SD0A i.e for Sales Order or not in the Feeder system and what the log says in the Feeder system GTS Cockpit. We discussed a similar issue in a past thread as well. Below is the link for your reference. I think, it will be helpful to you.

  • IPod no longer plays my purchase music???

    Hi everyone,
I've recently moved my music collection to a different computer and everything seems fine except purchased songs etc won't play on my iPod. They transfer over fine but when it goes to play anything purchased it skips to the next track. I've tried all that the apple site recommends however it's final option is no good to me, it said to restore my collection from a recent backup when that is exactly what got me into this mess.
I don't know what to do next, updating and restoring my ipod seems to do nothing.
    Any ideas anyone?
Alienware   Windows XP   wish it were a Mac...

Just as a matter of interest, do you let the iPod go into "deep sleep" (where you don't use it for more than 36 hours)? There seems to be some indication that this causes purchased music not to play.
    There's one other thing.
Enable the iPod for disk use. See How to enable disk use.
Go to "my computer" and from the tools menu/folder options/view tab, enable "show hidden files and folders" in the advanced settings pane. Open the iPod in "my computer". Look for a file called "iEKinfo". Is it there? If so, make a copy of this file and save it somewhere easy to find (the desktop for instance). Do this also with the "iTunes DB" file. Don't worry if you can't see these files.
Create a new administrator account. Log out of the current account and log in to the new one. Then restore the iPod to factory settings.
Open iTunes, connect the iPod and set the transfer preferences to manual transfer. Then download the free single of the week from the iTunes Music Store. Verify that song plays in iTunes.
Now, drag this song only to the iPod, and eject the iPod from iTunes and disconnect it from the computer.
Does the song play on the iPod ok? If so, log out of the new user account and log back in to your normal one (the one you have issues with) and reconnect the iPod to the computer. Keep manual transfer selected for the moment. Drag some of the older purchased music (the ones that wouldn't play before) to the iPod.
Eject the iPod and disconnect it. Do those songs now play ok?
If not, first try this step.
Delete the SC Info.sidb file. Open iTunes again.
Now transfer some of the affected music to the iPod again. Does it play ok?
    If not, do this.
    Recreate your iTunes library.
Now, would you please send some info about this issue to [email protected]
    Include the following info.
Did any of the steps resolve your issue, if so which one?
Which model iPod are you using?
What computer OS are you using?
Was the iEKinfo file present on the iPod at the start of troubleshooting?
If not, was it there after any of the above steps, if so, which one?
Include your account name (not your password) you use for the iTunes Music Store.
