Transfer Songs From PC to Mac One Playlist Only

I have a desktop PC, an iPad, and several Android devices.  I have too many songs on my PC in iTunes to transfer to the other devices so I created playlists for each device and include only songs that will fit their various storage capacities.  I use iTunes to sync the iPad and a third party program for the Android devices.
I just bought a MacBook Air and I love it but have yet to find a way to transfer (and hopefully sync) a subset of my iTunes library.
Is there any way to do that without buying a relatively expensive third party sync solution?

You can sync everything or selected playlists.

In addition to creating a backup, a sync with your computer allows you to manage contacts, calendars, and bookmarks on your computer."  Plus information on syncing manually and using autofill in manual mode.
Your topic line asks a very different question from the one in your post.  To copy a single playlist drag the files to a flash drive, then drag them to an iTunes playlist on the other computer.

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases from the phone to your Mac's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For music purchased from other sites and/or copied from other sites, then if you haven't got a copy of them on a backup then you will need to find a third-party program that can copy them off the phone.

How to transfer songs from a ipod/itouch to a mac computer?

You sync your tunes, right? Those tunes are stored in your iTunes Library.
Or maybe I'm understanding question completely. How did you migrate your tunes in the first place?

  • Trying to transfer songs from PC to Mac using home sharing.

I just bought a new Mac and am trying to get my songs from the PC to the Mac. I managed to transfer the songs using Home Sharing, but, when I tried to add the songs to my Library in iTunes, any songs that were not purchased on iTunes (burned from a CD, etc) are greyed out, will not play, will not delete. What gives? Is Apple trying to make me buy my entire library on iTunes?
I'm trying to get these songs to my Mac so I can wipe the music on my iPhone (which was linked to my PC) and manage the music on my Mac. It doesn't seem I'm able to do that either. Does this have something to do with the PC.
    THANKS!

When using home sharing you must use the same Apple ID on both machines. It does not mattter what apple id the machine uses to login to iTunes with.
Then you can click on the orange house icon in Shared in the left sidebar of itunes. Select what to import and click import at the bottom right

  • Transfer songs from shuffle to mac (or PC)

    Hello,
I have an iPod shuffle that I had syncing with an old computer that has since been sold. None of the songs were purchased from iTunes, all ripped from CDs I can no longer find. I was wondering if it is possible to take the songs off of the shuffle and save them on my new Macbook Pro?
I know this is possible with a regular iPod using PodUtil and the like, but I haven't been able to find one that supports the shuffle. The closest was PodAmp which detected the shuffle, but did not seem to work when I wanted to pull songs off it.
When I plug the ipod into my mac, itunes says that it is associated with another computer and that it has to delete everything to start over.. I don't mind doing this, but only AFTER I get the music off of it
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks so much in advance!
P.S: I should add that if for some strange reason this can not be done on a mac.. I do have a PC I can use as well.

There's a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to your Mac at this link which you could try. I don't know if this works with Shuffles as well but it's worth having a look at: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • How do I transfer songs from albums, artists etc to playlist on iPhone 4S

I'm sure it's easy, so hope someone can assist.
Just wanting to move selected songs from albums/artists/songs to playlist.
    Any tips would be appreciated.

All of your apps should be on your computer.  If they are not, then put them there.
You can then sync them to any of your devices that you like.

  • Trying to transfer songs from ipod to mac

I have an Ipod touch that is my bf's, his ex was the primary user and the account info is all her. I do not have itunes password. We don't care about apps, and i would like to reset with his info, but there are over 1,200 songs and most are not itunes purchases. How can i get them off the ipod and onto my mac? when i try and transfer it tells me my computer isn't authorized to her account and i can not transfer only 76 items and that is fine, but when i hit cancel it ends transfer.
    thanks

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.
The ONLY exception is itunes purchases.
If this music belongs to his ex, then it is not yours at all and it would be illegal to take the music from it.

You don't. Sync via iTunes to PC/Mac, then to other device.
Otherwise people could "share" all their purchased music.

  • How do I transfer songs from one ipod video to another

I want to transfer songs from one ipod to another, but how do i do it. 2 itunes?

You can't transfer directly from one iPod to another, the songs have to be in iTunes and you update your second iPod from there. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved also it was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation as the iPod preferences are no longer in the location described. Also it won't transfer playlists or videos as far as I know. However if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes

  • How do I transfer songs from my ipod mini to my computer or to my itunes library? Songs/playlists show up as being on ipod but cant move to itunes library.

How do I transfer songs from my ipod mini to either my computer or to my itunes library.

    Hello Christopher,
There are 2 ways to go about this.  One is to use the manual method which is a little different depending on whether or not you use a Mac or a PC or you can opt to use a 3rd party software that can help you accomplish the task as well.  See this older thread for a list of possible software you could use.

I have three ipods - iPod #1 has only been synced to iTunes. I want to transfer songs from iPod #2 to iPod #3 without having all of the existing iTunes from iPod #1 getting synced to iPod #3. How do I upload iPod #2 to iTunes and keep it isolated, and then sync only thos songs to iPod #3?
I can not figure out how to upload the songs to my Library without losing them in the muck of the thousands of other songs that are already in the Library.
I am a new user but I find that navigating iTunes is extremely non-user friendly...
    Thank you!

Haven't you got your songs in iTunes? Just connect your new one and it will update from your Library.
However if you have deleted them from the PC, there are a number of third party utilities that can retrieve the files from your iPod.

  • How to transfer songs from one iPOD to another one?

On my old iPOD I've collected songs for various libraries (from friends and my two computers) but stupid iTUNES won't let me transfer my songs from this iPOD back to Library.
So, now when I've got a new a iPOD, I have to put all the songs there again, because iTUNES again won't let me transfer songs from one iPOD to another iPOD, when both are connected to the same computer!!
    What should I do?
Apple as an innovator company should come up with an update to solve this easy issue.
