Transform window....how to randomize time line position of notes

hi, im playing with the transform window.
Ive checked out the manual.
I understand it can randomize note pitches.
But can it randomize note positions? as in ... the position in ...well....time.... along the grid... as in ...time line...position.

say i select and operate on all notes in region. (via piano roll)
then i deselect them all and just selcect say some of them.
When i operate again, it changes ALL the notes, even the un-selected ones.
Cant i select note events in piano roll, operate on them, and deselect and operate on some diff bunch of notes, in the same region?
how about this: swapping notes around. So say if you have C E G note events in a region. Can you transform them, so the E event becomes a G event etc....all random....but constrained to the pitches which are used by the original notes (C E G)

    Thanks for the question. The markers you see in your first screenshot have time references for the start of each clip. Because your second screenshot is one long clip, that is why you do not see (or have the option to add) a reference point. You can split the clip to add time references to the thumbnails.

    The area in the iMovie window where you create your movie by adding and arranging clips and making all your edits.
    Each clip in the timeline is represented by a thumbnail or series of thumbnails.

  • Have keyframes in effect controls window coincide with main time line

    Hello,
    Is there any way I can have the time line in my effects control window coincide with my main time line ?
    Example,  I add keyframes along my main time line, but any time I wish to edit  them, I need to scrub my effect controls window timeline to get to that
    spot  that coincides on the main time line.  I'm just wondering how I can  have both time lines show the same area at the same time.
    So  if I'm at the end of my time line, and add a keyframe, and then wish to  just scrub or move my cursor to the beginning of my main time line, the
    time  line in the upper window ( effects control window ) does not reflect  the area of the main time line I am currently at, I need to actually  click the time time
    line ( main time line ) in order to "refresh" the upper effect control window time line.

       I just learned the VB using vision tool. 
       In the  " Mechanical Assembly Example"  using the VB6.
       We can detect the mising part using the edge line detection.
       With 1 model is ok, but i want to detect many model for our parts.
       But I can not save the line detect for model by model.
       Can you help me how to save  the edge Line detection position for model by model.
       Because with 1 model, I can insert lines to detect part, but when I closed my sofware, it can not save my line.
        And if we have many model, how I can change data by model.
       By support me with source code for example.

    Generally speaking, when the user interface comes up to define a line you are creating a variable that is then used for the rest of the code. You would need to save that variable and then hardcode the values into the part of the program where it is used. I can't speak specifically because I don't know the specific example. Where did you find the example. I can take a look and give you specifics if you let me know.

  • How to have time capsule sleep when not in use

    Is there any way to have my time capsule sleep (stop spinning ) when not in use? it runs constantly and gets warm. I need to find out how to make it idle and wake up when my Mac calls for a backup. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how to do it?     Does the disk spin up and down continually? Or is it just spinning non-stop?
    What model is the TC? Please give the A1xxx model from the rubber base mat.. and size of the hard disk.
    Did you update to the latest firmware? When did the problem start, ie did it correspond with firmware update?
    Have you played with it.. replaced the drive etc? If this is stock standard it should spin down almost immediately disk access finishes.

    I have had virus on computer and reinstalled tunes and windows. But I dont want the touch to think it yet another computer im trying to use. It tells me I only have to more computer to hook up to it. I hope Im asking the question right.

    The 5 authorized COMPUTERS has NOTHING to do with ipods.
    Itunes will allow up to 5 computers to be authorized to play pre-itunes+ music. When you reach the limit of 5 COMPUTERS, then you can de-authorize them all, then authorize the active ones again.
    You can sync as many ipods as you like to a computer.
    In the future, it is a good idea to de-authorize before re-installing your os or getting rid of a computer.

  • Time line function in AS3

    How to use time line function like " gotoAndPlay, stop(), " etc with AS3,
    i had use stop in my first fram it give the error like,
    1180: Call to a possibly undefined method addFrameScript.
    did i have to import any other file for that

    Actually i wirte the simple code of generating multiple symbols on the stage in a seaprete class file, than i embed it like this:
    and then i write "stop()" in the first frame layer one.
    try yourself create any class and link it with fla and write "stop();" in first frame to stop it.

  • Time line indicator doesn't move with clips shown

    I don't know what I did but the blue time line marker does not move with the scenes of the clips ???   The movie rolls but the time is not indicated and the blue line is stationary and far behind the scenes.  What's up with that?

  • In the time line, cutaways and titles are supposed to be linked on the top side of movie clips in the time line window.  I don't know what I did, but now they are linked to the bottom side.  How do I get them up to the top where they belong?

    I'm working on a movie in FCP and using cutaways and titles in many places in the timeline.  While working on a movie 2 days ago, and I don't know what I did, all the cutaways and titles are now linked to the movie clips from below rather than above.  When I "grab" them and drag them up to the top-side, as soon as I "release", they go back down.  Along the menu bar, I've check the "view", "modify", "clips", etc., looking for any thing that might refer to appearance of the time line.  What must I do to get the cutaways and titles back on top where they belong?  The audio clips remained properly-linked to the time line and play properly.  The cutaways and titles can be seen but do not play.

  • The "reverse position" function for midi in the transform window does not seem to be working.

    So I'm trying to have all of the notes of my midi region play in reverse order. I found out after some research that the way to do this is via the "reverse position" function in the transform window. I opened the parameters for this and it gave me an option to select "inside" a set of measure positions, so I set it to between measure 99 (99 1 1 1) and measure 172 (172 1 1 1) and tried to "select and operate." Nothing. Tried to select manually and then hit "operate." Nothing. I then changed the condition from "inside" to "all" and manually select, then hit "operate," and this time it showed "340 events in one midi region found" at the bottom of the window but still did nothing. I haven't manually counted the notes in the region but that seems like a fair estimate that it's the right number of notes (midi events).
    Any idea why this function seems to do absolutely nothing?

    Middle Operand: EX
    NO right operand in this case

    How are Windows Server Backup and Command Line Tools used during the installation of vCSHB?  Is it required in all types of deployments (PtoV, VtoV, PtoP)? Is it used to create the files that are put in the file share for the second node to use during vCSHB installation or is it only used during a vCSHB clone operation of a Physical to Physical deployment?  Are these tools not used in some deployments?

    You need Windows Server Backup installed on source and destination, and during the installation of vCSHB the installer will invoke the wbadmin (Windows Server Backup Utility) and will backup configuration and application data (application data is optimal but can decrease the sync time after installation of secondary node). On the secondary node you will need only run the vCSHB installer and everything will be restored.

  • How do I acces a var from the main time line in to a movieclip?

    I'm making a quiz-type animation, since I'm new with ActionScript I had developed my own way to make this work.
    I want to add like a meter that shows one out three position depending on the answer given, I had made this animation as a movieclip but now I need it to react according to the answer, so it changes on every question to do that I need to access the variables I'm using in the main time line, how can I access the the main time line variables from the movie clip?
    The movie clip (meter) is basically the background and the questions will change and advance on top of that movie clip so it'll change with each answer until you get the final result.

    I kinda of make it work using what you suggested: var meterVar = MovieClip(this.root).userAnswer;, but I have different problems now I'm getting this error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
         at divameter2_fla::MovieClip_1/frame1() and the meter movieclip only change from the original position to the second and stays there even if the first answer supose to sent it to the third or four position. here is the code for the main and movie clip:
