Transforming EPC to BPEL - Semantic check error message

I am having problems with the semantic check in Oracle BPA Version 10.1.3.3. Functions in some processes are linked with entities from an ERM (as Input/Output).
When validating the EPC there is conflict with a rule in the category “rules for service-oriented EPC”. There is the following error message (translated by me): All objects, linked with functions via connections of the type “has input” or “has output” should be of the type “class” or mapped directly or indirectly on one or several objects of the type “class”, to be interpreted correctly by the transformation to BPEL.
How can I solve this? Is it possible to transform an EPC linked with entities?
Without providing any specific rule or description, there is a vague error message in the category rules for service-oriented BPMN model as well. For some the entities linked with functions, either as Input or Output, there is a line like: “'customer':: ???”
Is there any way I can get an error description? Can anyone help?

Hi,
due to the semantic check script performing the EPC -> BPEL transformation evaluation you will always end up with this message when performing the semantic check.
You can patch the semantic script / you can access the script within the Module Administrator / Semantic Checks.
Regarding your second problem I have no idea what check is producing this message.
You can run the transformation without checking the semantics. Have you tried this? Does it work?

Stock check error message in serial numbers problem

Dear Experts,
In serial number profiles i did the stock check indicator to give an error message if there were incosistinces in stock data,
now this is the scenario:
after doing an external maintenance order and creating a PO with reference to the maintenance order PR, and also entering the specified serial number in the PO:
1) Goods Issuing: i used MB1B with movement type 541 and as the serial number already exist and not wrong so it didnt show any error messages and by checking the stock data in MMBE the material was in stock provided to vendor.
2) Goods Receipt: when using MB01 with movement type 101 and when entering the serial number of the material it gives an error message ALTHOUGH it is the same serial number issued and the same serial number in the PO
This is the error message :
Stock data of serial number G081 not suitable for movement
Message no. IO231
Diagnosis
The current stock information for the serial number G081 contradicts the stock information of the movement to be posted. The following stock information is valid for the document and the serial number: Batch Number Stock data Serial data C2
Only the first different field for the stock data/serial data is assigned. However, further data may also be inconsistent. To determine whether this is the case, you can start an analysis.
System Response
Two system responses are possible (set using Customizing): If the case of an error occurring, the assignment of the serial number to this posting procedure is not possible. In the case of a warning, you can, if necessary, transfer the notification.
Procedure
Assign a serial number which corresponds in your stock information to the stock data of the posting. You can display the serial numbers which can be used using Select serial numbers.

Try with MB04 t-code.
And External Operation scenario is as follows:
External Operations will be defined in Maintenance Order with control key PM02. There price will be maintained. So based on that, PR will be created for the External operations. Convert to PO & do GR for operations. I guess, here we can't do any goods issue of material to sub-contractor.
The reason is that in Sub-contracting, issue item & receiving item should be different. It can't be same. But here in our case, material code & serial number are same.
So try this process.

Budget control check - error message below 100%

Dear Experts,
I am facing a problem in th budget check, I have the tolerance settings as below:
90% - 1 Warning message
101% - 3 Error message
But system is giving me error message even when it reaches 98% itself, its not allowing to create the PO. I should use 100% of the budget, but it is not happening, can some one please throw some light on this, why system is behaving like this?

Some interesting things I have observed here,
The budget is given in IM52 as below:
There is only one WBS element in this project:
PROJECT123 - Overall - 60,000 and 2010 - 51,000.
Then we have created a PO directly, (there is no PR for this) with the same WBSE PROJECT123.
Here my observation is as follow:
Tolerance limits are defined as below:
1000     ZP0002     Projects budget profile-(GOCL)     ++     1     90.00     0.00      INR
1000     ZP0002     Projects budget profile-(GOCL)     ++     2     95.00     0.00      INR
1000     ZP0002     Projects budget profile-(GOCL)     ++     3     101.00     0.00      INR
The PO value is 50,000, then there is no message, not even warning. (here system is directly checking the budget against overal value, not the FI year). If its checking against over all values, there will be no message as it is 83%
There is no message till PO value is 54000, as it falls below 90% (the first line of the tolerance limit).
From PO value 54001 onwards, the warning message is produced till PO value is 57000.

How come the same message number is being produced as Error message and why it is producing the error message though it has not reached the 101% (as per the last line of the tolerance limit)?
Once the PO value reaches to 100% i.e., 60,000/- system is producing another error message:
Item 010 WBS element C-0005 budget exhausted
Message no. BP607
Diagnosis
Budget is exhausted in document item 010 WBS element C-0005 .
Once the PO value is exceed by 100% i.e, greater than 60,000 (I have maintained 60001 as the value) system is producing a different error message:
Item 010 WBS element C-0005 budget exceeded
Message no. BP603
Diagnosis
Budget was exceeded by 1,000.00 INR in document item 010 WBS element C-0005 .
This error is from the PO value of 60001 onwards.
My questions are:
1. Why system is not check the AVAC with the FI year budget, why only with the Overall budget?
2. Why system is giving error messages from 95&% onwards? (see message number 613 above)
3. Why system is not allowing to utilize upto 101% of budget value?
4. Why so many different types of error messages?
Note: I have tried to search the SAP notes based on the message numbers, but could not find out any appropriate one.
Please help me out solving this problem.

Checking error message using Exception ID

Hello,
How can I search the log files using an Exception ID? I can goto the NetWeaver administrator, and open the Logs and Traces screen. The log file is also getting displayed.
But how can I do a search on the Exception ID, so that I can find my error easily?

Login as admin into the portal and then paste this url in the same address bar
http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.runtime.admin.logviewer.default
Then look for defaulttrace file with the smallest size and search for the exception ID, give the filter as the last 2 days and click search. Look for your exception in your results page.

EPC to BPEL Transformation - XOR-split

Hi all,
I am trying to transform EPC to BPEL. The process contains XOR-split activity followed by 3 events. I expect to have a switch activity followed by 3 branches for each condition in BPEL. However, I only got a switch activity and "default" branch.
Has anyone encountered similar problem before?

Thank you for your reply and interest. I'm sorry I could not reply sooner myself.
You are right that in this diagram, the AND-operator is not needed. However, this diagram serves as an example, which I tried to make as simple as possible. Perhaps too simple. It should show the case, where something happens in parallel with a loop doing something else. Adding an event and function on the parallel line would illustrate this better, but seemed more complex than necessary to me. However, it may be that to illustrate the full extent of this "glitch", functions and events should also be added between the AND-operators and the XOR-operators, above and below the loop.
Another "glitch", which I ran into, has to with the combination of a loop and multiple start events. Multiple start events seem to be transformed quite well. However, when adding loops (and perhaps other structures) to the branches, strange things occur. Often resulting in just a single branch being transformed to BPEL. I have been unable to pinpoint the exact occurrence of this. The length of a branch even seems to have something to do with it.
The example below illustrates this. It has two branches, a long one and one with a loop. In the current form it seems to transform successfully: The BPEL shows a flow containing the two branches, including the loop in one of them. However, when the long branch is shortened (remove the top events and functions), the resulting BPEL code no longer contains the flow and the second branch.
I'm still very interested in explanations and possibly workarounds.

System-wide Spell Checker Error

I newly installed Leopard on a MacBook Pro, and now in Mail, Safari and iTunes, I get a "Couldn't contact Spell Checker" error message when I try to type in these programs. The problem disappears in Mail if I set Spell Check to never in the preferences. Safari & iTunes don't have that option, that I could see.
But that's besides the point. Spell check should be seamless and automatic. The error doesn't just occur once. It basically hangs the program because the error cycles continuously and I have to force-quit to get out of the application.
So now I am using Firefox to type this because Safari wouldn't let me type without letting me know it can't contact spell checker.
To remedy the situation, I've verified and repaired permissions, although I did not see any permissions that related to this issue. I downloaded and re-installed the 10.5.1 update. No effect. I've spotlighted 'spell checker' and only gotten the .dll file from Windows as a return.
Guesses, anyone?

etresoft, thanks for the hint. I looked and found tons of stuff, but not a thing to do with the spell checker error. I did log into another profile on the affected machine and had no trouble whatsoever. Does that mean the problem is in my home/library? I think, hopefully logically, that there's another program causing this issue. What would be the logical way to approach this?

Table for COFC error messages

Hi,
There are 1000+ orders are in error when we check thru COFC . As it's a tedious job to check error message for each error record, Is there any table to get error text messages for all error records?

Hi,
what you see in COFC is nothing else than the AFRC.table entries. Nevertheless the message itself is not stored in AFRC itself.
Process COFC-records by marking all of them and tick "save", the ones that can be posted nor are posted only the "real" errors remain.
You can schedule a job running CORUPROC report, to do this automatically.

Internal error while transforming bpmn to bpel

Hi,
i designed a simple bpmn model and i’ve got an error while transforming the model into a bpel process.
Steps i’ve done:
1.     SOA > Transform business process into bpel process
2.     the following semantic check was ok and there were no errors listed
3.     I selected the check box “create log file”
4.     Then an error occurs: “Unable to perform transformation. Internal error: There are semantic errors in this model. The errors have been displayed on the model”
5.     After clicking OK, the log file appears: -- WARNINGS --: W#17 : Warning: in the current model, some functions are not connected to services.”
6.     in the bpmn model there are two objects marked with a red line: an automated activity and a XOR gateway (data-based).
I don’t know what’s wrong with these objects. I checked the properties of the automated activity, but “Abstract BPEL activity” is selected and so I don’t understand what the problem is.
Are there dependencies, I don’t see? The assignments of both objects are correct. Are there other requirements i have to consider?
Previous to the automated activity there’s another XOR gateway (data-based) with three branches (one of them is the obviously incorrect activity) and all three branches meet in the red marked XOR gateway.
Any idea?

Hi Julika,
The error message might not be related to the activities itself. I assume your model is not well structured. Consider that the following points aren't disregarded:
* Never "jump" out of a particular branch into a different part of the model or into another branch
* All functions/events have only one incoming/outgoing connection
* Process parallel flows should be specified by splitting and joining AND/XOR rules, or they should contain either one splitting AND/XOR rule only for which there is no other connection between their paths, or one joining AND/XOR rule only that is met by all connections.

Error message in BPEL console when purging instances

I get an error message in the BPEL console when I Purge All Instances. The problem arised when i patched SOA suite to version 10.1.3.3. (On 10.1.3.1 i beleive this worked.)

The process domain was unable to purge the instances from the datastore. The exception reported is: [POL-5130] table or view SYSTEM.WI_FAULT not found
Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid.
sql statement: DELETE FROM wi_fault WHERE domain_ref = ?

I also get a similar error message when i use the search activity function in the BPEL console, and when I use the java-api:s to search among activities.
Does anyone know anything about this error?

I got the same error, but long after I upgraded to 10.1.3.3.
As this was on Windows with Oracle Lite, I did like below to fix the issue. Unfortunately I seem to have more issues with the BPEL database so I'm going to try to find a way to reinitialize it from scratch.

Error message when listing activities with Oracle BPEL Control and Java API

I'm implementing some BPEL processes in an Oracle Application server 10.1.3.3 environment.
I use the Oracle BPEL Process Manager Client Java API to access some BPEL instances but when I want to list their activities with IInstanceHandle.listActivities() (I've tested the IInstanceHandle and it contains an open process instance) I receive the following error message:
"Activity error:ORABPEL-04003 Cannot find work items. An attempt to fetch the work items using the where condition "cikey = ? AND ( wi_state = 1 OR wi_state = 2 OR wi_state = 3 ) " from the datastore has failed. The exception reported is: [ODBC S1002] invalid column number Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid. sql statement: SELECT * FROM admin_list_wi WHERE ci_domain_ref = 0 AND cikey = ? AND ( wi_state = 1 OR wi_state = 2 OR wi_state = 3 )"
When I try to use the BPEL control to list the activities I also receive an error, which I think is related:

Has anyone found a solution to this error? There are a couple of developers in our team that has the same problem and also have a similar problem when trying to purge instances from the BPEL control. The problem started when we patched to 10.1.3.3.

When you upgraded to 10.1.3.3 did you run the SQL scripts that modified the SOA suite schemas?

We are trying to inport a request after putting the files in cofile and data file folders( 4.6C System).While doing so an error message is seen in the log " Check-sum error in data file after XXXX bytes".

It is sure your file is corrupted or not present.
Check in cofiles and data directory under /usr/sap/trans your transport request number.

"Unable to Check Out File Error" Message

I'm new to using Adobe products, so forgive me if this is a dumb question! My graphic designer sent me a INDD file to edit the text in and when I try to open it in both InDesign and InCopy, I receive an "Unable to Check Out this File" error message. I just downloaded InDesign CC and InCopy CC (the free trial versions). She said that all settings on her end should allow me to view it. Any help is much appreciated!

I've just experienced the same error message in CS4. I got rid of it by going to the Links panel, selecting all the links to Incopy, and Unlinking.

I am useing firefox 19.0.2 now bit I belive it started when I upgraded to firefox 18 but am not sure, it might have been when I upgraded to firefox 19 ... but it has been happening for a very long time and I cannot find any helpfule solutions online.
I have tried a Clean reinstall but it did not help.
