Translatability interactions

When I insert an interaction like a tabbed interaction, the text is part of the widget.
When I export to xml for translation, this text is not included.
Is there a way to automate export and import of the text for translation?

I do not believe that is possible. Do regret a lot the lack of localisation possibilities for the interactions myself.

    Hello,
What you are asking is not trivial.
Firstly, it is not advisable and not supported to change directly any of the APEX metadata tables. Moreover, the issue is not just to add Armenian (hy) to the list of languages. While defining a language mapping in APEX, the APEX engine needs to associate the language with a supported Oracle language, in order to derive its locale details (e.g. date format, decimal separator etc.). I believe it can be done by associating the language with AL32UTF8 (if your database supports it) and setting the locale details manually, but I can’t test it now.
I will draw the attention of the Globalization expert of the development team to your thread. I can't promise anything, but if he’s not too busy, he’ll be able to help you or at least confirm that it can’t be done (in a supported manner).
    Regards,
    Arie.

  • Translation of interactive Forms - (multilangual, international)

    Hi there,
Is there a better way to translate a interactive form than copy it and translate it separately?
I tried to use dynamic caption, but there is no effect if I map the caption of a text element to a data connection.
(If I do the same with a button, it works perfect)
Is there another way to fill the label of a text field dynamically?
What's the best way to translate Interactive Forms (not in SAP)?
Use NWDS 2004 SP18 and Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1
    Thanks
    cheers dome

    Hi Hanoz,
In the interface linked with my layout i add a parameter name RECIPIENT_LANGUAGE typing SYLANGU .
    Line: -
For SMARTFORM Text process as follow
In the context of the layout i define field as Text Module with thoses attributes :
    - text name value 'ZTOTO' ( it's a sample name )
    - text language value field RECIPIENT_LANGUAGE
    - No error if text not available set to TRUE
    - Copy style from Text Module set to TRUE
In the layout i put this text element in a sub-windows.
Then you have to create your smartforms text and populate it in the different language you want thru transaction SE63 for translation .
    Line: -
For SAPSCRIPT Text process as for SMARTFORMS text except for the field define in the context, it should be define as Include Text .
    Line: -
When you call your form populate the attribute RECPIENT_LANGUAGE with the value you want . If none text of your forms exist in the language you want the system process the text with the default language of the forms ( creation language ) .
If at least one text exist in the language requested all text will be process with it even if some translation are missing ( in this case you will got empty value ) .
    Hope this help you.
    Best regards.

  • How to apply mvc pattern  to mastermind game coding?

    Hello,
I am trying to create the mastermind board. i want to know how to apply the MVC pattern to the design
    View -- creating the board
    Model --??
    Controller --??
I am not able to understand what should be in the model and what shud be in the controller.
    Can anybody help
    Thanks,
    Manju

    * Model - The model represents enterprise data and the business rules that govern access to and updates of this data. Often the model serves as a software approximation to a real-world process, so simple real-world modeling techniques apply when defining the model.
    * View -The view renders the contents of a model. It accesses enterprise data through the model and specifies how that data should be presented. It is the view's responsibility to maintain consistency in its presentation when the model changes. This can be achieved by using a push model, where the view registers itself with the model for change notifications, or a pull model, where the view is responsible for calling the model when it needs to retrieve the most current data.
    * Controller - The controller translates interactions with the view into actions to be performed by the model. In a stand-alone GUI client, user interactions could be button clicks or menu selections, whereas in a Web application, they appear as GET and POST HTTP requests. The actions performed by the model include activating business processes or changing the state of the model. Based on the user interactions and the outcome of the model actions, the controller responds by selecting an appropriate view.

  • Translation of Interactive Report (IR ignores translated help messages)

    Hi
I've spend my time translating all 242 IR messages to Dutch and loaded them into my app.
All seemed well. The IR is completely Dutch now. However when I choose help from the Action Menu the help text remains English. I really did translate all this help to. Why doesn't it use the translated text?
The translations have been properly loaded as I can see them when I execute
    select *
    from flows_WWV_FLOW_MESSAGES$
    where flow_id = :APP_ID
So I'm puzzled why is it picking up every piece of translation except for the help translations? Is this a bug?
    Anyone any experience

    Hi Geert,
This is Bug 7001615 - fixed in the APEX 3.1.1 patch set, which is available now.

  • Interactive Reports and menu list translations

Can anyone tell me how to translate the menu items contained in the interactive reports menu list (ie Select Columns, Filter, Sort....) ? I have translated an application into french and when I switch to that language the menu items in the interactive reports are still displayed in english yet the rest of my application is french. The translation file does not contain these items to translate. Can I make these french somehow? Its a pretty powerful tool, but not not if you can't make it language specific. Our french users would not accept this in english.

    Hello,
    >> Can anyone tell me how to translate the menu items contained in the interactive reports menu list …
The following section of the documentation explains exactly that - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/global.htm#BABHCAAH .
For complete translation of the IR, you’ll need to translate all the string messages in table 16-4.

    Arie.

  • Interactive report messages - translation

    Hello,
I'm trying to translate all of the interactive report messages, on Apex 4.2.
    I'm using this [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35125/global_messages.htm] as a reference.
I have several problems translating the help section of the interactive report.
First of all, I can't seem to find all of the message names. The ones I couldn't find were:
Sets the number of records to display per page.(regarding displaying certain number of rows per page)
Format enable you to customize the display of the report. Format contains the following submenu:
        Sort
        Control Break
        Highlight
        Compute
        Aggregate
        Chart
        Group By(regarding format)
You can define one Group By report per saved report. Once defined, you can switch between the group by and report views using links below the Search bar. To create a Group By report, you select:
the columns on which to group (up to 3 columns can be selected)
the columns to aggregate along with the function to be performed (average, sum, count, etc.)
the columns to use for sorting (up to 3 columns can be selected along with direction and null sorting options)(regarding group by)
And secondly, I have translated this message
Select columns icon enables you to identify which column to search (or all).
Text area enables you to enter case insensitive search criteria (wild card characters are implied).
        Go button executes the search.
Reports displays alternate default and saved private or public reports.
Actions Menu enables you to customize a report. See the sections that follow.using this message name: APEXIR_HELP_SEARCH_BAR.
However, now I have two messages shown in that section: the original one, in English, and the translated one.
Could someone please help me out?
    Thank you!

    Bump.

  • Add Translation of INteractive form in Guided Procedures

    Hi.
I have created an interactive Form with Adobe Lifecycle Designer. I use the Form in Guided Procedures. You can add translation files of the form there. But what is a Translation file and how can i produce it?
    Thanks a lot. Regards,
    Dominik

I found this in the SAP documenation hope this will hel you a bit.
If you would like to translate ABAP dictionary objects i know the translation will be automaticly done by the System. This will work due to the system variable SY-LANGU.
    kind regards

  • Bug? Interactive Report - Help not Translated

    Hi,
I translated all Text Messages regarding Interactive Report, but Help (popup window) is still in English. Everything else is translated.
Is this a Bug, or am I missing something?
    Best Regards,
    Hrvoje.

    Hi Joel,
I played a bit more with the IR, as this is one of the most important additions to 3.1.
I have to say that even with the bug in the help windows, which will be fixed, as you said, in 3.1.1, the APEX team did a tremendous job with the translation options of this new feature, and you can see that a lot of work has been done to allow us to translate every aspect of the IR region, thus utilizing this great feature in all the other languages APEX is supporting. I was especially pleased to find out that even the CSS relevant selectors of the help window, are part of an external file, which allow me, very easily, to add RTL support, for example.
I strongly believe that this approach – putting as much as possible in an external resources, and not as an internal (inline) APEX engine generated code – is the best approach, and it will help us to better use this great product.
    Thanks,
    Arie.

    Of course! Here ya go
For the record, I did create a new project with only two slides to try and duplicate the issue. I had the same problem. I unchecked the Mouse Click Sound check box, republished and the slide auto advanced. I'm wondering if a default sound file was somehow moved or deleted? I discussed uninstalling and reinstalling C7 onto my laptop, but that's a frustrating solution haha

  • Interactive reports - how to translate ?

I have an application which I migrated from 3.2 to 4.0. In the 3.2 version I had translated most of the IR menu items which were included with that version. Now in 4.0 I notice there are a couple different ones which are not translated. The messages I have translated correspond to 3.2. Is there a place or a document where I can find the new menu item names (ie Rows per page) for version 4.0 because I have been unable to find said documentation. This way I can include them in the 4.0 application. I could try to guess the names but it would take a while.... rather have the documentation.

I have already seen this. However, based on changes to the IR menu in version 4.0 there are some menu entries which are not in this list. I am unable to find the updated list. I was able to find an install log for version 4.0 which coicidentally had the new messages in the log and I was able to register some of the new messages that way for my translated app. It would be nice though, if Oracle could update documentation with the release. Perhaps they have, I just want to know where because looking through an install log and attempting to match a message with whats on your screen can be a bit tricky.

  • Translating and transporting an Interactive Form?

    Hi Folks
I have used Transaction se63 to perform a translation on my PDF form.
When i save, there is no prompt to add this translation to a Transport Request.
Does anybody know how to do this?
I have read about running report RS_LXE_RECORD_TORDER to add translations to a Transport Order, but the program gives an error each time with no information on how to correct it..
    Thanks in advance.
    Anton Kruse

Also, keep in mind translations don't take effect until the original form is re-activated. Sooooo the easiest way to kill two birds with one stone is to make you translation, save it, go back to form layout screen, go to properties, add/delete a character to the description, save, back out your change, save again and activate. Pain in the .....yeh....you know. haha

  • Translate wants to use your confidential information stored in.....?

I don't know why, but all of a sudden, I keep getting this message from my mail program. I keep saying Deny, but it comes back. I have searched relentlessly and have found no answers. Since the app is called translate, all I keep getting are translation information. Nothing to do with whatever is going on here.
Here is a copy of the message:
*translate wants to use your confidential information stored in "Exchange" in your keychain.*
I don't know if this is legit, or if it is something malicious. Can anyone with any knowledge in this, please enlighten me.
    TIA, Billy

    First the basics.
    Which mail program?
Any third party software being used in conjunction with mail or to enhance the system? (e.g., There are translation programs which are meant to interact with mail, I think.)
What happens if you search your mac for the string "translate", any applications show up?

  • Please help with strange monitor/Lightroom 4 interaction problem

I bought a Dell Ultrasharp U3011 yesterday, and I'm now facing a very strange problem. It's sort of related to the common discussed issue of Lightroom's color management, but there is a twist here. I'll explain.
The monitor I had been using (and still have) was a Samsung SyncMaster 244T. I had no problems at all with it.
With the U3011, I've run into this problem:
-When I view files in Lightroom 4, the colors are muted and contrast low. The same files seen in Xnview, ACDSee Pro (with the color management turned off), Digital Photo Professional (colorspace set to sRGB), are much more vivid. In Photoshop, if I use the default color setting, it looks muted like Lightroom (I'm guessing because Adobe products have default color profile set to ProPhoto RGB), but if I set the color profile to the monitor's profile, it becomes vivid and matches the other software I mentioned. If I use any other profile such as sRGB IEC81966-2.1, ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB, etc, it doesn't match the other software I mentioned. This is strange because the other ones match each other because they are set to sRGB, but in Photoshop, even if I set the color profile to sRGB, it still doesn't match.
-In Lightroom 4, even if I use Soft Proofing, nothing changes. It's as if Soft Proofing is broken--it doesn't do anything, no matter what color profile I choose.
-Now, here's the twist. I didn't have any of these problems when I use the 244T. This leads me to assume that the problem is how the U3011 is interacting with Lightroom. I did a quick comparison of opening up the same image on both monitors in ACDSee Pro, and they looked identical. (At this point, I had the U3011's preset set to sRGB. This is the only preset that makes the U3011 look identical to the 244T).
Next, I did an experiment, and I was very surprised by what happened. This is what I did:
With both monitors as a dual display setup, I turned on Before/After comparison in Lightroom (made sure both version had the same setting and look identical by copying the After's setting to Before). I then moved Lightroom's window so that one photo is seen on the U3011, and the other shows up on the 244T. And OMIGOD, they looked different! Why is this happening? I've already established that the same image looks identical on both monitors when viewed with ACDSee Pro, but in Lightroom, they looked different on each monitor.
And then things got even more weird. When I dragged the Lightroom window fully to one monitor or the other, Lightroom actually started changing the colors right before my eyes as it responded to which monitor was displaying which photo! Lightroom was somehow interacting with the monitor in real-time. So if the Before looked muted on U3011 and the After looked vivid on the 244T, when I drag the whole window into 244T, the muted Before will stay muted for about a second or so, and then it'll suddenly change and become identical to After. And when I did the reverse (drag the window into U3011), the reverse also happened--the vivid After will stay vivid on U3011 for about a second or so, and then it would suddenly change and become muted. Lightroom was identifying each monitor's color profile setting and changing the images according to which monitor was doing the displaying, and when the images were split between the two monitors, Lightroom was slitting them into two different settings to match whichever monitor is displaying which side.
So what the hell does that all mean, and what can I do to get Lightroom to display the photos so that they look the same as on all the other software I mentioned (so I don't have to play the guessing game of editing the images, export them out to other software to check how they turned out). Also, remember that I didn't have this problem with the 244T--Lightroom displayed the photos the same way as the other software I mentioned. The problem right now is that the U3011 is somehow causing Lightroom to display the photos differently, and no color profile presets in the OSD control can make them match.
I need to solve this problem, or else my last resort would be to return the U3011 and try another brand/model and see if that helps.
    Any ideas?

Yes, that's basically sensible advice you got there (but I was more succinct ).
An important point that was mentioned over there is that you must not confuse document/source profile with monitor profile. They are both links in the color management chain, but they serve different purposes. The document profile defines the colors in a standard color space. The monitor profile describes the monitor's own native color space - its response to the RGB numbers it's fed. So one is translated into the other, by the application on the fly, through a normal profile conversion, and that way the colors appear on-screen as intended.
If those two profiles/color spaces are roughly similar, as they would be in the case of an sRGB document displayed on a standard gamut display - then you can get by without color management. It won't look too far off. But a wide gamut monitor changes the rules, because its native color space is not similar to sRGB, it's much closer to Adobe RGB.
Anyway, this is what color management is about. Any profile can be translated into any other. So in this context it doesn't really matter what color space the document is in - as long as you have a good monitor profile it will display correctly (within practical limitations). Lightroom is a sort of special case because its internal working color space is not one of the standard ones, instead it's a modified ProPhoto space with linear gamma. But the basic principle is exactly the same: source profile > monitor profile.
Just to go a little more in-depth while I'm at it: When you calibrate a display you actually do two separate things. You first calibrate it to a more or less standardized response. But that's just a linear one-dimensional correction. It does nothing about how color is actually reproduced, how red is red for instance. The calibration is global and affects everything system-wide because it's read into the video card or monitor hardware.
Then, once calibrated, a monitor profile is made. This is a full, complete and accurate description of the monitor's behavior, in three-dimensional color space. The precision level is much higher. This profile is used, by color managed applications like Lightroom and Photoshop, to display the image.
Other applications that are not color managed will simply ignore this profile, and send the RGB numbers straight through to the display, unmodified. With a standard gamut monitor (and an sRGB document) the difference won't be too dramatic and you may not notice it unless you look closely. But a wide gamut monitor will make the difference jump out immediately.
