Transparent Widget Link?

Hello All,
I'm a newbie working in Dreamweaver 3. I'm working on my
first site. There is a blank spot on the right hand side of the
homepage (above where it reads "At Your Fingertips) that I'd like
to insert a date and weather widget. The problem that I'm coming up
with is that I'd like the widget to be transparent in the area.
Here is the link to the website to see where I'd like the
widget to be.
www.rapidappraisalssocal.com
Below is the code that I got from a website to use.
<a href="
http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/Rancho_Mirage.html?bannertypeclick=bigtemptr">
<img src="
http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/bigtemptr/language/www/US/CA/Rancho_Mirage. gif"
border=0
alt="Click for Rancho Mirage, California Forecast" height=94
width=185></a>
When I place the code, the area becomes white. I copied the
widget code that is supposed to be for transparent. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Rick

i think you need something like "alwaysOnTop" above all. i tried to do the same, but the only way i found on internet is to surround everything in a jframe and the use jframe method "alwaysOnTop"

    In new software Belle widgets of minicalendar and email cover a half of display. I looking for solution like some transparent widgests with white letters. The same problem is with icons. Probably the best way it is some theme with such settings. Who have the same problem and who see solution?

    You can't have looked around much not to have been offered a choice of transparent widgets for Nokia Belle. Perhaps look at forum.dailymobile.se although implementation of transparent Email widget is probably outside most user's comfort zone and invalidate any warranty.

  • Adding A Widget / Link to a Playlist in iTunes

    I am looking for suggestions on how to add a link in my iWeb MobilMe website to a playlist in iTunes. It used to be as easy as dropping in the iMix widget - but it looks like that was discontinued. Can anybody point me in another direction?
    Thanks.

    Hi, I have a very similar requirement, I was wondering if you have made any progress on getting to use an iTunes playlist in iWeb.
    Any pointers would be useful
    Thanks

  • Transparent Button Link to URL not working when I publish

    I am using mulitple tranparent buttons (over text) as a link to open a URL file in a seperate window on our company intranet.  I created this file 6 months ago and it always works fine.  Today, I needed to update the file and add another transparent button to link to a new url.  When I preview the file, everything works fine and a browser window will open showing the correct web page but when I publish the file, nothing happens.  None of the links work.
    I have updated this file in the past and I have never had a problem.  Does anyone have any suggestions.  This should be a two minute update for me but has turned into a big problem.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff
    What you might consider doing is to declare a common output folder. Then flag that folder as safe. Normally that's a one off and it just holds. But you do have the option of clearing the list of "safe" folders. Perhaps something clobbered that at some point.
    Additionally, once you copy the content to a web server and view it in the browser using a URL, you shouldn't have any concerns. The link should work for all users.

  • The images in my html widget look blurry!

    Hey there, I'm making some html widgets for my book using HYPE. When I insert this into the ibooks the program shows the preview image in crisp high quality but when I preview it on the iBook, the figure looks somewhat blurred. When I tap on the figure to enlarge it and make it interactive, everything looks fine and crisp, it's only the preview window before it's enlarged that doesn't looks so good. I even tried replacing the preview with a separate picture and previewing that but whatever I do, the preview just doesn't look sharp. Does anyone have any solutions I can try?
    Thanks,
    Caleb

    Blurry preview icon for HTML widget
    The best way to handle this issue is to make the preview icon transparent and place it over your own custom reference graphic on the page.
    1- Place on the page the graphic you will be using as the reference icon for the widget
    2- Place your widget on top of the custom graphic icon.  Make sure it is in "Front".  Also make the preview icon is as small as possible.
    3- Click on the preview icon TWICE and make its transparency "0".  If you only click the preview icon once the Transparency slider will not become active.
    4- Now, when you preview the book, your Widget Link will open your custom HTML Widget and both will display at full resolution.
    A bonus result of doing this... Since your link is transparent you can make it as large as needed to make it a large enough touch target.

  • Publishing a BI-report as a Widget on the CRM home page

    Hello,
    I'm trying to publish a BI-report on the CRM home page in the WebUI.
    I've created a Widget link and added the widget to the home page.
    As URL for the widget I've entered the following code:
    [http://electro.marvel.local:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=ZCRM_APP_SURV_DEMO]
    When I log on to the WebUI, the Widget is displayed with the logon screen for the BI-system. (I have not set up single-sign on.)
    When I log on to BI, the browser goes crazy and just refreshes and refreshes.
    What could be the issue here?
    Kind regards

    Hi Johan,
    I'm trying to do the same and I have 2 questions:
    1) How do you create URL for a Widget?
    2) What was the issue and how did you fix it?
    Thanks,

  • What's wrong with this (transparent) picture ...?

    There are many posts on the issue of JPG's being converted into PNG's and a variety of replies with sympathetic suggestions for how to avoid this plague.
    Many months back I also used to see recommendations of making an iWeb graphic into a very reduced opacity item that can be used as a hyper-link.
    But I've yet to see any of the responders directly address the dreaded png's of transparent hyperlinks.
    Why not.?
    What's wrong with this picture.?
    Am I, so far, only partially educated about file type as to be unreasonably anxious about transparent hyper-link png's.?
    Has this graphic question just slipped through the cracks because of all the other jpg-into-png avoidance issues.?
    Or perhaps, do transparent png's "work-just-fine, thank-you" on a PC's I.E...?
    Is it somehow possible to reduce the opacity of an imported JPG without it converting..?
    If png's are to be avoided for any of us aiming at the-world-beyond-Mac, then that ought to include the iWeb graphics used for hyper-Links, right.
    What is the story..?
    Any help appreciated appreciated.!

    Nope… it'll more than likely be a problematic G5 software installation. My Mac mini runs a 24" display and can play 720p video just fine with it's extremely crappy Intel GMA950 integrated graphics. It does however frame drop a little with 1080i high motion video. Both Bluetooth and USB mice just work fine. The Mac Pro will have no problems doing any of this.

  • Spry Validation Confirm Widget

    Ugh.  This is driving me nuts!
    I've used the Spry Validation Confirm Widget successfully before, but for some reason I can't spot, I get this error message every time I try to load the page: Spry.ValidationConfirm ERR: The element ConfirmPasswordWidget doesn't exists!
    The JS and CSS files are linked as follows in the head section.
    <!-- Link the Spry Validation Password JavaScript library -->
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryValidationPassword.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <!-- Link the CSS style sheet that styles the widget -->

    <!-- Link the CSS style sheet that styles the widget -->
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryValidationConfirm.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    The code in the body looks like this:
          <form id="Passwordform" name="Passwordform" method="post" action="">
            <table>
              <tr>
                <td><label for="password1">Password:</label></td>

              </tr>
              <tr>

                <td><span id="ConfirmPasswordWidget">

                  <span class="confirmInvalidMsg">The values do not match</span>
                  </span>
                </td>
              </tr>
              <tr>

                <td><input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" />
                </td>
              </tr>
            </table>
          </form>
    The scripts are declared as follows:
    <script type="text/javascript">
       var sprytextfield1      = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField("sprytextfield1", "none", {validateOn:["blur"], minChars:7, maxChars:7});
       var password1           = new Spry.Widget.ValidationPassword("ValidatePasswordWidget", {validateOn:["blur"], minAlphaChars:3, minNumbers:1, maxSpecialChars:2, minChars:3, maxChars:8});
       var ConfirmWidgetObject = new Spry.Widget.ValidationConfirm("ConfirmPasswordWidget", "password1", {validateOn: ['blur']});  </script>
    The actual code is shown below (it doesn't allow me to attach it).
    I know this is a lot to ask, but can anyone see the reason why I'm getting this error?  Looks to me like ConfirmPasswordWidget exists!?

    Folks -
    I have narrowed down the cause.
    This error appears if the form to which the confirm validation is applied is inside an if condition that is not met, causing the form not to appear in the html source.  It doesn't seem to affect the password validation similarly, just the confirm validation.
    Doesn't this have to be bug?  I'm not fluent in Javascript, so I'd sure appreciate someone telling my how to work around this.
    This is the structure that causes the error to be generated, but only when condition is FALSE.  If condition is TRUE, no error is generated.
    <?php if (condition) { ?>
      form with confirm validation
    <?php }; ?>
    Help anyone?

  • Widgets...am I the only one who is experiencing this?

    I've never not had any replies to the many posts I've made over the years. This is the first time.
    Has anyone used or upgraded to iWeb '09 and successfully employed widgets? Even a youtube widget/link?
    I have tried every work-around I can think of, and my widgets do not appear on my website. They work fine in iWeb, and are uploaded to my server.
    Does anyone even have a theory?

    As you are publishing to MobileMe, the problem is probably in iWeb.
    To test this, publish your site to a local folder and launch it in your browser by double clicking the index.html file.
    If the widgets are OK then you have a publishing problem - which you shouldn't have with MobileMe.
    If they are not working when tested direct from your hard disk, troubleshoot iWeb.
    Follow the steps under "Fix iWeb" here....

  • Wmode mozilla links not clickable below swf

    I have a flash file overlapping the html. and wmode is
    transparent. the link belo wthe swf work fine in IE but not working
    in mozzila..what can be done

    >I have a flash file overlapping the html. and wmode is
    transparent.
    There's your main problem. wmode=transparent is incredibly
    buggy. It makes
    things seemingly unrelated to transparency fail.
    DO NOT USE IT !!
    Try wmode=opaque (its a little less buggy) or redesign so
    that you do not
    have your SWF over the top of (or underneath) other content.
    THAT is the
    best solution

  • Preview pdf links have black outlines

    Hi there, does anyone know how to remove the black borders that appears around pdf links in Preview?
    I created the pdf from powerpoint. The black lines around the transparent rectangle links only appear in Preview and not in acrobat for mac or pc.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have run out of ideas.
    Thank you

    Did you manage to solve this?

  • HTML Widget zooming effect

    Hi,
    I am trying to make my HTML Widgets in my iBooks Author book to being fired up when user taps on a small button in the side of the book.
    For that sake, I place my widget first, then I drag my small button graphic to the widget area so it becomes the poster image of it.
    Problem is that when I test my book and I tap on the button, there's always a "zooming effect" of the button prior to execute the Widget itself, that enlarges the little png for a little while, so it shows the big pixel jagged image. I don't like this effect, is there any way to get rid of it?
    Thank you,
    Ignacio

    I am just using finally this workaround:
    1) Place the HTML widget as usual, but without poster image, nor Title, Background... so it is sort of a "transparent hot spot" in the book
    2) I draw a figure with text inside, as a button, and organize it so it lies below this transparent widget
    When I run the book in the iPad, I see a crisp, clear button that I cap tap and the Widget plays at full screen without that annoying jagged PNG zoomed in.
    Same thing if you use an image button rather than a figure.
    Greetings,
    Ignacio

  • Widgets - I cannot understand this???

    I want to create some widgets for the SAP CRM.  I've tried countless ways to get this worked out and no luck.
    First I tried to use the Web CRM 7.0 personalize link.  And then I clicked "Personalized Widgets" none are available so I click the link "Create your own widgets" but the only field available here is the Title field the URL field is greyed out.
    So Ok I thought i could use SPRO -> IMG customizing.  So I defined a web link through the define web links in the ui framework.
    Then I created a group for widgets.  Then I assigned this link to the widget group.
    The link was one I found from someone else who had issues on this site: http://voap.weather.com/weather/oap/90045?template=TRVLH&par=3000000007&unit=0&key=twciweatherwidget
    So now I try to look to add this through personalization and it is not there.  Do I need to assign this group to my role / profile?
    Please help Ive read all the threads on this and no help so far.

    Aha I got it...
    After you define the widget web links as well as the widget groups as well as assigning the widget links to the widget groups you need to do one last thing.  You simply go to the "Define Business Roles" highlight the role you are using and click "Assign Function Profiles" from there you add the Widget group profile.  Was easy!

  • What STEPS do I do to make a button link?

    Ok, I'm getting so annoyed with trying to find tutorials on
    the web where all they say is "To make your flash banner link to a
    page, simply create a button that is transparent, then link it to
    whatever page." HOOOWWW!?1?1?!? I figured out how to make the
    button transparent, but how exactly to I make it link? Keep in mind
    that I know zero flash jargon. ARghghh so frustrated. The tutorials
    say right click on the button and you'll see actions - then you'll
    be in object actions. All i see is an actions window with NO
    options such as "Get url" - it doesn't look like the same actions
    window (says Actions - Frames) that the tutorial pictures show. I
    am TOTALLY lost and nothing I can find on the internet is helping
    me. :_(

    I don't especially care for the Live Docs version of the
    documentation
    myself (
    http://livedocs.macromedia.com/),
    but that isn't because of the
    content so much as it is the length of time it takes to load.
    There's a
    *lot* of JavaScript going on to make the table of contents
    (left) match up
    with the entries (right). The concept is good, mind you -- it
    provides a
    way for Average Joe to leave notes and comments on a "living"
    set of
    documents -- but I prefer the onboard documentation right in
    the Help panel.
    > i'm such a newbie, i don't even know what 'Live Docs'
    are -
    > do they have flash preschool for people to go to?
    Plenty of people here on the forums to help. :)
    > or flash rehab ("flash-hab," if you will) for those who
    forget
    > what they learn about flash in a matter of days?
    The documentation is always my first starting place, when I
    get stuck.
    Yes, it can be intimidating if you're not familiar with it,
    but it really is
    chock full of useful, helpful information. You just have to
    know how to
    navigate it, and how to use the Help panel itself.
    Not saying this is the end-all be-all, but I wrote an
    article for
    Community MX. not so very long ago. on how to get the most
    out of the
    ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference. Free content ...

    swedemily, to determine how your URL is opened, you'll have
    to provide a
    second parameter to the getURL() function (the second
    parameter is
    optional). See the "getURL" entry of the ActionScript 2.0
    Language
    Reference for details and sample code. :)
