Transport for PC datasources Table name

Hi All,
As a part of our tramsporting statargy i am going to send my datasources to QA first.
In this regard i am sending the flatfile datasources first into BI side.
I have many number of datasources are there but under one application component.
If i select the source system is pcfile and selecting that application component with all selections like dataflow before and before after only ncessary..it's not showing the all my flat file datsources unders that aoplication componennt in the transport connection.
The other way is to collect is datasource wise ,for this regard i would like to find is there any table which holds the application component and correposing datasources
or else any table name which holds only flatfile datasources(PC file Source system daatasoucres)

  • How to find the Datasources for the given table names ?

    Hi All,
    I have an urgent requirement where I ned to find the names of BW Datasources, created for the given table names.
    Both the tables and Datasources are in BW system only. I can see the table in SE11 but I am unable to find its associated Datasources in the 'Where Used List'.
    Is there any method ?
    Will assign points to satisfactory answers.

    Hi,
    Check this thread on how to find the DS.
    I have the field name, please help me find the data source.
    Once you identify your DS you find which all Data targets are fed by trying to see the " Show data flow" in RSA1 for this data source.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • How to findout DS for a given table name!

    Dear Members,
    I am trying to find the datasource for the given customized table!....and it's not easy to find!!!
    I kindly request you to share some inputs if any possibilites to find.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    KS

    Hi Raj,
    As you said it's a customized table it will be difficult to find the standard data source, better to create a generic data source.
    Can you post ur requirement and what is the customized table n the fields in the table.
    If its not a new development system you can make use of the table RSOSFIELDMAP-Mapping Between OLTP Source Fields and InfoObjects to get the data source names where that particular field is being used.
    or else if its not used in any of the data source in your system then you can search in SDN or google to find out the data source.
    If there is not data source related to your respective table then u can go for creation of Generic data source.

  • Standards for creating fields & table names

    Hi All,
    I need to know if there are any SAP standards or standards from clients to be followed in creating new fields, tables & description.
    If there are any such data, please share with me.
    Urgent.
    Regards,
    Pramod

    Hi Pramod,
    mostly we're using a common Term for the field name. The field code is the field name in uppercase using MDM_ as prefix. As you have to replace blanks (a field code does not allow blanks) we use an _ instead. Note: if you want to distinguish between SAP created and custom fields, we recommend using a different prefix! Maybe you can start your Custom field codes with ZMDM or a prefix describing your customer? Currently we cannot enforce this in MDM as the MDM_ prefix is not yet protected. But if you follow our recommendation, it'll ease up your life and of course ours, too, as we can differentiate between SAP and customer fields in OSS messages.
    Edit: regarding descriptions
    If your field is somehow linked with a ERP field, you could reuse the description of ERP for example!
    Cheers

  • How to use sp_msforeachdb with sp_rename for changing two table names in each databases-

    I have around 990 databases on a single SQL server in which I want to rename two tables 'AuditEvent' and 'AuditPropertyEvent' to 'AuditEvent_Archive' and AuditPropertyEvent_Archive table.
    Then I want to transfer lastest 6 months of data from now newly rename archived tables to New created Auditevent tables (Which will have same structure as old),
    For doing it I tried Cursor and SP_msforeachdb as possible solutions but its not allowing me to execute 2 sp_rename statements with go inside a dynamic statement.
    Please suggest any possible solutions on how to rename the 2 tables in all databases using sp_msforeachdb or cursor in a single go.

    exec sp_msforeachdb '
    USE [?]
    IF EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM ?.INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHER TABLE_NAME = ''AuditEvent'')
    EXEC sp_rename ''AuditEvent'',''AuditEvent_Archive''
    IF EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM ?.INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHER TABLE_NAME = ''AuditPropertyEvent'')
    EXEC sp_rename ''AuditPropertyEvent'',''AuditPropertyEvent_Archive''
    SELECT *
    INTO AuditEvent
    FROM AuditEvent_Archive
    WHERE datecolumn>dateadd(month,-6,getdate())
    SELECT *
    INTO AuditPropertyEvent
    FROM AuditPropertyEvent_Archive
    WHERE datecolumn >dateadd(month,-6,getdate())

  • Can substitution strings be used for table name references?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if it's possible to use substituion strings for table names in SQL queries. This would allow for me to edit all references to a table at one location. For instance, if a table name or dblink changed, I could edit the substitution string or application item to ensure all the queries reference the new table.
    For example:
    select * from &table1.
    table1 would be the substitution string for the actual table name
    I know this is possible if I used a pl/sql function returning a query, but I would much rather use a substition string in a SQL query.
    Thanks in advance.
    Brian

    i think not
    because how create the fields of * in this case
    in the other because all is dynamic, i think that you obtain only an error

  • RegEX for a valid mysql table name

    Hi all,
    i'm trying to figure out a regular expression for a mysql table so i can check if the string is a valid mysql table name.
    I don't know exactly the valid characters for a mysql table name.
    does any one have an Idea ?
    thnx

    You win the deal i don't know the characters :)
    Now come on. You know what DB you're using. Just google for some dox. Can't be that difficult.
    So what is the exception raised by mysql engine if
    not a valid name ?Depends on your DB and/or the JDBC implementation.
    >
    how can i catch it to prompt the user with a proper
    error message?I suppose by catching any exception risen when calling executeQuery() or the like and outputting its message.

  • PSA table name not visible in the list

    Dear All,
    I have been trying to delete the data from the PSA tables using the process type <b>Deletion of Request from PSA</b> and the Object type <b>PSA TABLE</b>.
    When searching for the PSA table name in the <b>Object Name</b> list, I am not able to get one of the PSA table names (/BIC/B0000505). Though I am able to get all the other table names in the list. (Ex. /BIC/B0000504 , /BIC/B0000506) .
    Please let me know the possible reason for this and how to rectify the same so as to include that PSA table name
    Regards
    Shalabh

    Hi Raghavendra,
    The table is present in the system (SE11/SE16) and contains data as well.
    The problem is, I am able to find the other tables from the same datasource in the list, but am not able to find this only PSA Table in the list.
    Has it got anything to do with corrupted PSA table and need to re-tranport the Datasource ??

  • Use of quotes in a table name?

    Hello,
    It seems Oracle treats a table name with and without quotes differently.
    SQL> create table abc (x integer);
    SQL> create table "abc" (y integer);
    These two commands result in two different tables as can be seen from the following commands:
    SQL> desc abc;
    SQL> desc "abc";
    However, I cannot get the list of tables.
    SQL> select * from tab where tname like '%abc%';
    returns just one row.
    SQL> select * from all_objects where object_name like '%abc%' also does not show me abc and "abc" as two separate tables.
    Q1. Is there a way to obtain the proper list?
    Q2. What is the proper qualifier for specifing a table name? For example, SQL Server supports "[" and "]" around the table name. However, I could not find the equivalent grammar for PL/SQL.
    The following command works (by trial and error):
    SQL> select * from (abc);
    However, the following doesn't:
    SQL> drop table (abc);
    which means that "(" and ")" are not the qualifiers.
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Pradeep

    Import and export and the other tools use quotes so
    that objects will be properly re-created as they were
    originally specified, even if some one uses reserved
    words or case sensitive names. At least they should. I recently had a customer using FoxPro (!) to access my Oracle Datawarehouse and he named one of his column "ALTER" (age in german). Then he complained that my database is not working because he was getting an Oracle error (ORA-00936: missing expression)!
    However, if some developer made me
    type:
    SELECT "MyCol1", "MyCol2", ...
    FROM "HisTable"
    WHERE "SomeStrangeColumnName" = 42every time,
    I would think seriously of homocide :-).I know the feeling :-)

  • Select data from all the table names in the view

    Hi,
    "I have some tables with names T_SRI_MMYYYY in my database.
    I created a view ,Say "Summary_View" for all the table names
    with "T_SRI_%".
    Now i want to select data from all the tables in the view
    Summary_View.
    How can i do that ? Please throw some light on the same?
    Thanks and Regards
    Srinivas Chebolu

    Srinivas,
    There are a couple of things that I am unsure of here.
    Firstly, does your view definition say something like ...
    Select ...
    From "T_SRI_%"
    If so, it is not valid. Oracle won't allow this.
    The second thing is that your naming convention for the
    tables suggests to me that each table is the same except
    that they store data for different time periods. This would be
    a very bad design methodology. You should have a single
    table with an extra column to state what period is referred to,
    although you can partition it into segments for each period if
    appropriate.
    Apologies if i am misinterpreting your question, but perhaps
    you could post your view definition and table definitions
    here.

  • ODI: Using Table Name in Dynamic filters

    We have a requirement, where the filters have to be dynamically generated and applied on the source system data stores.
    The requirement can be best explained by the below example.
    I have EMPLOYEE and DEPARTMENT table as the source datastores and EMP_DEPT (flat table) as the target datastore.
    The filter condition will be updated now and then by the admin in a table. They would like to run the integration interface with the condition mentioned in the table.
    Metadata table and sample data: (DY_FILTERS)
    TABLE_NAME | INTERFACE_NAME | CONDITION
    EMPLOYEE | EMP_DEPT | EMPLOYEE.EMPLOYEE_NAME LIKE 'A%'
    DEPARTMENT | EMP_DEPT | DEPARTMENT.DEPARTMENT_ID = 10
    So now the interface has to run with the conditions 'EMPLOYEE.EMPLOYEE_NAME LIKE 'A%' and DEPARTMENT.DEPARTMENT_ID = 10.
    To achieve, the best possible solution I can think of is, I have defined a variable for the dynamic filter and under the refresh section and I am planning to use the following query:
    SELECT CONDITION FROM DY_FILTERS WHERE INTERFACE_NAME = <%=odiRef.getPop("POP_NAME")%> AND
    TABLE_NAME = ***************.
    I was able to pick the interface that is currently involved by using getPop() method where as I dont have clue for getting the table name.
    Please share with me, if you have answer. Also if you have any other way to achieve this, please share the same.
    Note: The actual scenario is more complex than the example given above. But the crux of the requirement is very well covered in the example.

    Hi,
    If you've only one source datastore in your interface, you can retrieve it's name with <%=odiRef.getSrcTablesList("[RES_NAME]", "")%>.
    If you have more than one source it will list all you sources.
    However I can't see when you plan to refresh your variable. getSrcTablesList won't work before/after the interface execution.

  • Alternative table name on client side

    Hi,
    i'm using java api for my publication and i have to use an alternative table name on client side. For example the table name on database back-end is 'EMP', but, the statement for the snapshot is "SELECT * FROM EMP" but i would like using another name on client side, not 'EMP'. The API doc does'not help me.
    Thanks

    I do not believe this is possible. When publishing you get an error if the publication item name is not found in the schema database.
    More complicated, but would work, would be to create a view in your main schema create view v_emp as select * from emp
    you can then use v_emp as the name, and this is what will be created on the client. Depending on the view complexity, you may need to create instead of ionsert/update/delete triggers for it, and in the publication item define the base tabe and PK values

  • Transport Entries in SID Table

    Hello....
    Is there any way that I can transport the entries in the SID Table, Master Data Table for infoobject from dev to q? I perform the transport for the text table for that infoobject and I managed to transport over but the SID Table for that infoobject is not updated, the table is empty. Thanks!

    Hi,
    You can not transport the data like that from system to system. The best thing you can do is to download the data from one system into a csv file and load it into the next system using a flat file interface. Hope this helps.
