Transport/Publish question?

Hi All,
The query and the workbook template has been transported and published and available for users to run them. I had a user who found some formatting issues. I went in created a request and then made chnages in DEV and then released the reuqest from SE10, will the changes are then reflected on the published query/report?

If you made changes to the existing workbook and made sure it was written to your new request, yes, it will update the existing workbook.

We need to create a report like below:
CATALOG_NAME     CD_TITLE     CD_ARTISTCATALOG 1     TITLE1     ARTIST1
CATALOG 1     TITLE2     ARTIST2
CATALOG 2     TITLE3     ARTIST3
CATALOG 2     TITLE4     ARTIST4
So we have to loop at the level of <CD> using for-each CD. But when we are inside this loop, we cannot access the value of CAT_NAME which is at a higher level.
How can we solve this?
Right now, we are using the work-around of set_variable and get_Variable. We are setting the value of CAT_NAME inside an outer loop, and using it inside the inner loop using get_variable.
Is this the proper way to do this or are there better ways to do this? We are running into troubles when the data is inside tables.

XML PUBLISHER Questions

Hi All,
Following questions restrict to use of functionalities of XMLP:
1. What could be functionality of Delivery manager of XMLP?
2. How could process Delivery manager an user request?
3. Delivery manager is full of Java API’s that means apps developer must know java. Am I correct? If it is Yes, what are java concepts need know so that developer can do his job successfully?
4. What could be sub-template concept in XMLP? Please give one practical scenario.
5. One scenario: I want generate group of invoices in PDF format and each invoice must generate in fresh page.
XML Input to Template: Report output (output format in XML)
Input parameters: Customer or Print date (i.e. all invoices of specified customer should populate)
I could not able to generate each invoice in fresh page. Is it possible through XMLP?
6. XSL: is language and used for transformation i.e. one form document to another form document (xml =>XHTML) am I correct?
7. When do we go for XSL implementation in XMLP? Please provide example.
8. Where do we write XSL code in template? Assume template I am using RTF form field method.

I am also facing new problem while i am going to register template in following environment:
Oracle applications version: 11.5.10.2
XML publisher Version: 5.0.0
My file size: 65 KB with out image
363 KB with company logo
The RTF used English language characters and want to register for English – USA
My RTF template works fine in preview mode in Word. I go to upload it via XML Publisher Adminstator and I get a screen that just says "You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance."
What? The only option is Log out. Is there a way to validate my template to know what could possibly be wrong with it?
Please let me know if any other information require about RTF template.

Transport namespace question

Hello everyone,
Small question. I have 2 development systems, I have to transport my things from the 1st development system to the 2nd and only then I can transport to the quality system. But someone else is doing work in the 2nd development system and created some namespaces in the same software component I am working on. So there are more namespaces in the 2nd system then in the 1st. My question is, when I transport the namespace definition for that software component from the 1st development system to the 2nd will those namespaces that do not exist in the 1st be deleted or will the transport only append my namespaces?

According to my understanding,Unless the namespace in both the system look like the transports will not be affected.It will not delete any namespace, it will always append to the software component.

JMSPriority -- Transport Headers Question

Hi,
Scenario is InpQueue --> OSB -- > OutQueue. OSB proxy service is configured to "Get All Headers" in JMS message. We are not using any Message selector.
Can anyone please tell us whether setting JMS Priority using transport headers -- outbound in OSB BS will retrieve messages according to the priority? Documentation doesnt say about this.

Priority logic is controlled by JMS server. Proxy/BS has no role in this logic.
Message-->JMS Q Input-->JMS Proxy( read as MDB)---{Routing-BS} (read as Java JMS Producer Client)--JMS Q Output.
So outbound BS will not retrieve the message but will only send the message to the JMS Q. So setting priority on JMS message does not have any effect on JMS BS.
I'm not sure we are on the same page. Let me know if you have questions.

IPad Retina Display - Publishing Question

Hi Everyone,
A bread and butter question for many of you I'd imagine, but I could use some advice as this is my first iPad app.
Background info -
Developing in Flash CS6, with AIR 3.4 SDK.
Stage size is 1024x768, and using all vector graphics.
I've created all app icons as per required resolutions, including for retina display.
- I've tested on both IPad2 and IPad3 (new Retina Display model).
- I've selected "High" in the Publishing settings in Flash.
- Images look good on IPad 2, medium-large images looks crisp (even when resized), but I have noticed that for some of the vector images that I've resized down quite small on screen (i.e. smaller than an icon size) have some minor line 'jaggies'. As a note I have the quality setting in the AS3 code set to "best".
- Images look SUPER crisp and sharp on the IPad3, those same smaller images are perfectly sharp and look flawless.
Question -
When looking at the Adobe help page of how to deploy a HD Retina Display app, it pretty much just mentions the steps of selecting "High" as the publishing setting.
Seeing I'm using 3.4 SDK (qhich references support for Retina Display), and Flash CS6, and also the 'High' publish setting, can my app be 'offically' referred to as a HD Retina Display app?
The main reason I'm asking is because my Flash stage is only at 1024x768, so I'm wondering if it has to be set at 2048x etc
Even so, the quality is so sharp and crisp on the iPad3!

If there's an official Apple definition of an app being a "HD Retina Display App," then I don't know the answer. But, if your app plays on iPad3 Retinas, then in my opinion (not worth much), I'd say "yes" -- it's a HD Retina Display App (especially if you're getting the decent high-res imagery you stated).
Regarding the "jaggies" on the vector images, I have the same problem. I think it's an AIR issue. For my client, I had to convince them to just accept it, which they did (thankfully). To try eliminating the "jaggie" issue, I used PNG files in some cases. But, those resulted in "fuzzy" appearances, which isn't much better.
You might want to update your AIR to 3.7 SDK and publish with that, as it's the most-recent and fixes a few older issues.
Please advise when you go to submit your app to Apple, because Apple rejected my app for problems on the iPad3 Retina (see http://forums.adobe.com/message/5414458#5414458 ).

Transport Routes Question

Hello SAP Experts,
I need to setup the transport routes as follows:
DEV:100 --> QAS:100 --> PRD:100
and the second route for the same systems is
DEV:101 --> QAS:101 --> PRD:101
Now my question is:
How can I avoid that someone in DEV:100 releases a transport to QAS:101? The reason is that we want to keep the two routes strictly separated.

I'd agree with Max, you'll probably get better help from the Basis forums, but my feeling is you can't have multiple sources, so you won't be able to achieve what you want.
A transport layer (which would join QAS 100 to PRD 100 etc) can only be linked to a system (DEV) rather than a system/client combination.

Transport general question

Hi eveyone,
I have a module pool program which has undergone quite a few changes. It has been moved to QAS quite a few no of times.
now they lost the sequence of transport to move in to PRD.
I have couple of questions.
First i have a transport lets say devk1 which includes a module pool program i.e screen 1,screen2, io1,o01,top,f01 i.e incudes everything.
This has been released to QAS.
Now i created a new transport LETS SAY DEVK2 which includes modification to ALL I.E SCREEN 1, SCREEN2,I01,O01,F01,TOP and moved into qas.
Now QAS has devk1 initial and devk2 latest.
DO WE NEED TO MOVE DEVK1 FOLLOWED BY DEVK2 or i should be ok only if we move devk2 in to prd.
Let me know,iam new to this field and all sort of questions keep poping out to me.

Yes you can move only dev2 transport to PRD if you are sure that there are no other objects related to zprgm in dev1 transport.
If there are no dependent objects in dev1 transport for zprgm then I dont see any issues with that in PRD. It will not end up with transport errors.
If you miss some objects then you will get some errors, and you have to move all those dependent objects in another transport which will up fix those errors occured during moving the transport dev2 to PRD and will activate the zprgm program.

XI Transports general question (SLD / CTS+)

Hi all, I ve the both following question : (it is not clear for me)
1) Does CTS+ transport management use SLD transport and target data linked with business system to adapt XI configuration (ID) regarding Business sender and receiver systems ?????
2) One of my customer want to install only 2 XI system.
- 1 linked with Dev & Quality R/3 environment
- 1 linked with production R/3 system
Is it possible regarding SLD content ?
How must the transports be managed in this case using CTS ?

Query Variable Transport Issue/Question

Hi, i am transporting some queries into my BWQ Quality System and ended up with an error:
Element 1Q070GEFFJXNCR690H6TJ4M13 is missing in version M
The queries work fine in BWD Development.
I checked the following in table RSZGLOBV
BWD Development System and there is Version A, B, and D
BWQ Development System and there is only Version D
BWP Development System and there is only Version D
So the variable already exists in all of the system and the VARUNID is the same in all of the systems as well..
Any ideas why I would have this issue and will there be a problem with queries already using this variable in BWQ and BWP should I transport it again to resolve this issue. (If this would resolve the issue)

I faced the same issue many times and did the same what Andrey suggested.
In your case the query element does not exist in QA and PRD in Active Version 'A', which means none of your queries in those environments are using the variable already.
We get the description of various statuses when we do an F1 in the field version after running table RSZGLOBV. I could not understand much of the explanation given. It says when an object is saved, the version would be M and when it is activated it would be A. We save queries/elements....but activation??

Local Update Publisher question

I need to send MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser out because for some reason WSUS says its not needed but another program that checks for vulnerabilities says its needed. I created the package in Local Update Publisher but when I tested it a PC it was listed twice.
Is there a way for this to check its installed in Programs and Features? I see it does by package ID but that doesn't help as this is a new package so no one will have it. Looking at NOT MSI Product Installed rule I am not seeing how to do
it.

In the case of MSXML4, I'll believe the independent checker, since otherwise the only way to get SP3 is to manually download and install it.
As for the product itself, there's only one file of interest, but it's in different locations depending on product architecure.
For x86 systems, it's ~\system32\msxml4.dll
For x64 systems it's ~\syswow64\msxml4.dll
MSXML v4 is a 32-bit only system.
What do you mean by "when I tested a PC it was listed twice"? What was listed twice? There may be multiple instances of MSXML v4 in Programs and Features, if different versions were installed at different times, but there can only be one MSXML4.DLL in the
system folder.
Testing by PackageID is one way to deal with this scenario, but I believe you'll find it much more reliable, and certainly a lot simpler, to just test the File Version on the MSXML4.DLL file. (The File Version of the SP3 file is 4.30.2100.0.)
Also consider why MSXML4 is present on a system to begin with. Is the application that installed it still present, and still in use? If not, uninstalling MSXML v4 would be a preferable action to trying to maintain it.

Pages/MS publisher question

Will pages import a pdf file created in MS publisher or a native MS publisher template?

Flash AIR publish question

Ok so, normally I use adobe flash player to run and test games I have created however I have just switched to adobe AIR as I needed a UDP connection in a game I am currently creating and flash player does not support this but AIR does. Flash publishes a .air installer and a .exe installer but not the exe of the game. When I use one of these installers it creates the game exe, the game swf and a METAINF folder. Now does this mean I have to install my game every time I want to test it? Why cant I just publish the AIR game exe and not these installers? Thanks

I found the air debug launcher but that still doesnt allow me to run 2 clients at once. So does anyone know if you can just publush the .exe air project and NOT the installer?

Another iWeb publish question

Using iWeb'06 on 10.4.11, wont publish to .Mac? theres no option to publish it to MobileMe? ideas?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What do you mean by it won't publish to .Mac? Do you get a message?
Try the following:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
