Transport Specifiec Records of Z Table

Date : 29-Jan-2005
Dear Group,
How to transport SPECIFIC RECORDS
(and not all records)
of a Z Table.
(somewhat similar to what happens in customization)
Whenever we add a record in our Z Table,
the system should ask for transport request.
Similarly when we Modify a record in our Z Table,
the system should ask for transport request.
Is it possible?
Regards,
Amit Mittal

There are two ways of achieving what you want.
1.     Enable the table maintenance using the transaction se11. set the “Table maintenance allowed” check box to X, set the Delivery class to “C”, this should allow the user to be asked for a customizing request number every time a new entry is made into the table using the transaction SM30.
2.     Alternatively. You could go to transaction SE01 (Customizing requests) create a new request/ select the request that you want to add the table data to,
a.     Select the sub task and goto display list (SHIFT+F11) or chose the menu path Request/Task->Object List->Display Object List.
b.     Select the change option Object List->Display <-> Change option
c.     Select Edit->New Entries
d.     Enter the following values for
i.     PgmID  = R3TR
ii.     Obj =  TABU
iii.     Object nam = “Table name”
e.     Having done this you’ll probably get a warning/pop-up saying you only be able to save your request once you have maintained the key values for you table. Accept the popup.
f.     Double click on the table name, you go to the change key list screen, alternatively you could click on the Goto->Key List menu item.
g.     On this screen Add a new line and this will give you the table name and another column titled Key./
h.     Double clicking on the Key column will take you to another screen where you can enter values for the specified primary keys of the table.
i.     Save these values and save the and lock the entries from the Object->Lock menu option in the display object  list screen.

  • Unable to sort the records of a table

    Hi Experts,
    I have populated one z table with records. The table coloumns are as below:
    Mandt
    Pernr
    Personnel Area
    Total Points
    Rank
    I have to sort the table records in descending order of Total Points. In many cases there will be same total points for many records. In such cases we have to arrange records in following fashion:
    If more than 1 person have same total points then person having more years of service will have higher rank
    If more than 1 person have same total points and same years of service then older people (date of birth) will have higher rank.

    Gary,
    Firstly, to make things easier, I suggest you add service and age columns to your internal table.
    Mandt
    Pernr
    Personnel Area
    Total Points
    Service
    Age
    Rank
    Does your internal table itab_prio contain large number of rows? Is the code that determines service and age performance intensive? If the answer is 'NO', then I suggest you populate service and age for every row and sort. This will make the logic simple and easy to maintain.
    If you must query service and age only when there is a conflict, then following logic should help.
    - itab_prio_copy[] = itab_prio[].
    - Loop at itab_prio.
    -   l_next_row = sy-tabix + 1.
    -   read table itab_prio_copy index l_next_row.
    -   are points same?
    -     get service for both the employees.
    -     is the service same for both?
    -       get age for both.
    -    rank accordingly
    - endloop.
    I know I have skipped a lot of gotcha points. For example, how to handle the last row, how to update the rank to the next row, etc. I am sure you can figure that out.
    Good luck.

  • How do I AUTOMATICALLY generate Transport request for a Z table data?

    Hello friends,
    I would like to automatically create/generate a transport request for a Z table every time I change, add or delete data in that table.
    Currently, every time I modify data in the Z table, I need to go and manually create a transport request and then indicate keys for the row(s) which were modified. I find this a tedious, time consuming, and error prone process.
    So I would like to automate this process. That is to say, the transport request is generated for the rows that I modified. The same way as is done when you change a program. It automatically prompts you for a transport request thingy.
    Any ideas?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    You need to make the table contents transportable by creating a "table maintenance generator" in SE11 under Utilities -> Table maintenance generator.
    In that screen for the section "Dialog data transport Details" the "Standard Recording Routine" option should be selected.
    Then only will the system ask for Transport request when entering data through the generated maintenance view in SM30.
    Also change the "delivery class' in the table attributes to 'C' - Customizing table

  • Transporting "Deleted records" with TABU

    Hi everybody,
    I have a Z table defined as customizing (Delivery Class C)
    We are updating it using a special dialog program we developed that doesn't creates change request.
    usually the changes in this table are small (only a few records) and we repeat the changes using the same dialog program in further environments (QA, PROD).
    I have to make a big amount of changes in the table contain, most of them deletions.
    I was thinking of creating a change request manually using TABU but I could not find a way of defining a delete in the change request.
    when I delete a record from an usual SM30 it creates the TABU entry + the key in the change request and it looks exactly like an adding in the table.
    My question is: How can I ensure that the record that I deleted in DEV will be deleted in QA & PROD using the change request ?
    Thank you very much
    Gilbert COHEN

    Hi
    I know the problem, but you can create that MAINTENACE and not transport it in prod, so u use it in dev and/or quality system only.
    Anyway I can't see any difference too, so I believe the line of kind TABU can be the same if it needs to insert or update or delete a record, I suppose the system decides which action to be done after releasing the request. Probably here it checks the record in the table:
    - if it exists it means it has to be inserted/updated
    - if it doesn't exist it means it has to be deleted.
    So you can try to change a few record in the table (one updating and one deleting), create, release and trasport the request for these changing in QA system. Here see the result.

  • Transport data entries along with table

    How can we transport data entries along with table?
    Do I need to declare of specific type??
    Thank you,
    AP

    Hi,
    If you have created a table maintenance..
    You can use SM30..
    Press maintain button..
    In the menu..Table view -> transport...Then select the entries include them in the CR.
    If the transport menu is not enabled..
    Go to SE11..
    In the table maintenance generator...Choose the radio button which says "Standard recording routine" and then save..
    Now the transport menu option will be enabled..
    Thanks,

  • Calculating the size of each record in a table?

    Hi to all,
    I trying to create histograms based on the unique record sizes in a particular table. However , in order to do that I need to calculate the size of each record in the table (in kilobytes preferably) and to get a list of unique record sizes.
    Is there a function or easy way to calculate the size in Kbytes of a record in a table?
    Thank you in advance!
    Tony

    Hi,
    You can use the sum of the average of the vsizes of the fields in the table. For example:TEST.SQL>CREATE TABLE TEST
      2  (
      3  A VARCHAR2(50 CHAR),
      4  B NUMBER
      5  ) TABLESPACE TOOLS;
    Table created.
    TEST.SQL>INSERT INTO TEST VALUES('&1',&2);
    Enter value for 1: A
    Enter value for 2: 10
    old   1: INSERT INTO TEST VALUES('&1',&2)
    new   1: INSERT INTO TEST VALUES('A',10)
    1 row created.
    TEST.SQL>/
    Enter value for 1: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
    Enter value for 2: 100000
    old   1: INSERT INTO TEST VALUES('&1',&2)
    new   1: INSERT INTO TEST VALUES('ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ',100000)
    1 row created.
    TEST.SQL>COMMIT;
    Commit complete.
    TEST.SQL>SELECT AVG(VSIZE(A)) + AVG(vSIZE(B)) FROM TEST;
    AVG(VSIZE(A))+AVG(VSIZE(B))
                           15.5                                  The average line size - from the data in the table NOW - is 15.5 bytes.

    Yoann.

  • Incomplete Data on report (report does not show all records from the table)

    Hello,
    I have problem with CR XI, I'm running the same report on the same data with simple select all records from the table (no sorting, no grouping, no filters)
    Sometimes report shows me all records sometimes not. Mostly not all records on the report. When report incomplete sometimes it shows different number of records.
    I'm using CR XI runtime on Windows Server 2003
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks!

    Sorry Alexander. I missed the last line where you clearly say it is runtime.
    A few more questions:
    - Which CR SDK are you using? The Report Designer Component or the CR assemblies for .NET?
    - What is the exact version of CR you are using (from help | about)
    - What CR Service Pack are you on?
    And a troubleshooting suggestion:
    Since this works on some machines, it will be a good idea to compare all the runtime (both CR and non CR) being loaded on a working and non working machines.
    Download the modules utility from here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip
    and follow the steps as described in this thread:

    The download also includes instructions on how to use modules.

  • How to get missing records from one table

    I have one table with many records in the table. Each time a record is entered the date the record was entered is also saved in the table.
    I need a query that will find all the missing records in the table.
    so if I have in my table:
    ID          Date          Location
    1           4/1/2015        bld1
    2           4/2/2015        bld1
    3           4/4/2015        bld1
    I want to run a query like
    Select Date, Location FROM [table] WHERE (Date Between '4/1/2015' and '4/4/2015') and (Location = bld1)
    WHERE Date not in
    (Select Date, Location FROM [table])
    and the results would be:
    4/3/2015   bld1
    Thank you

    Do you have a table with all possible dates in it?  You can do a left join from that to your above mentioned table where the right side of the join is null.  If you don't have a table with all possible dates you could user a numbers table.
    Below is one way to achieve what you want with a numbers table...
    DECLARE @Table table (ID Int, DateField Date, Location VarChar(4))
    DECLARE @RunDate datetime
    SET @RunDate=GETDATE()
    IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.Numbers') IS NOT NULL
    DROP TABLE NUMBERS
    SELECT TOP 10000 IDENTITY(int,1,1) AS Number
       into Numbers
        FROM sys.objects s1
        CROSS JOIN sys.objects s2
    ALTER TABLE Numbers ADD CONSTRAINT PK_Numbers PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED (Number)
    INSERT INTO @Table (ID, DateField, Location)
    VALUES ('1','20150401','bld1')
    ,('1','20150402','bld1')
    ,('1','20150404','bld1');
    WITH AllDates
    as
    SELECT DATEADD(dd,N.Number,D.StartDate) as Dates
    FROM Numbers N
    cross apply (SELECT CAST('20150101' as Date) as StartDate) as D
    select *
    from AllDates AD
    left join @Table T on AD.Dates = T.DateField
    where ad.Dates between '20150401' and '20150404'
    AND T.ID IS NULL

    instead of using set attribute you should use bind table method to display/update the records in table view.
    step1 ) collect all the data in a local table
    step2 ) and the bind that lacal table with your node
    search1 = wd_context->get_child_node( name = `TABLE1` ).
    search1->bind_table( lt_detail)
    here lt_detail is your local table and TABLE1 is node which is bound with table ui element.

    AND audittimestamp BETWEEN TO_DATE ('&start_timestamp',
    'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI'
    AND TO_DATE ('&end_timestamp',
    'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI'
    END;
    I was thinking of using returning into and then using DBMS_output to pull out the delted records, but there will be multiple rows deleted fro this statements. I am stuck here..Can anyone help

    How about:
    SQL> create table t
      2  (x int)
      3  /
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into t
      2  select rownum
      3    from all_objects
      4   where rownum <= 10
      5  /
    10 rows created.
    SQL> declare
      2     cnt pls_integer;
      3  begin
      4     delete from t;
      5     cnt := sql%rowcount;
      6     dbms_output.put_line ('Removed: '||to_Char (cnt));
      7  end;
      8  /
    Removed: 10
