TREX 7.10 Creation of an Index doen't work: TREX_RFC_CREATE_INDEX rc: 4950

I order to use the few features of PLM7.0 I started to setup a TREX-Server. 
 
But when I create an Index for an Business Object, 
(using Transaktion SES_ADMIN -> Index -> create Index/activate Index -> 
select an Business Object) the Index is will not listed in the Index-Monitor. 
 
Taking a look at the logfiles of the TREX-Server I see the following line: 
5:50:30.843 e TREXRfcSvr trexRfcFunctionService.cpp(00051) 
: TREX_RFC_CREATE_INDEX rc: 4950 (not supported ABAP version). 
 
 
Can someone give me a hit what could go wrong or give me 
additional Information about how to solve this issue? 
Do I have to install different ABAP-Version? What does this error mean? 
 
After doing some additional research, I started the Programm TREX_RFC_CREATE_INDEX 
from the Transaction SE38 to explict create an Index. I set the parameter RFC_DEST to my 
Trex-Server and leave all the other Parameters by the default value and hit <F8>. 
 
As an response I got the following message: 
Return code: 4.950 
Return text: not supported ABAP version 
 
After this I start debugging the Code of the TREX_RFC_CREATE_INDEX, and 
I could see as soon as the function TREX_RFC_FUNCTION_BXML is called the 
e_return_code variable is set to the value 4950. Under additional Information 
you can see the values that were used to call this function. eye-catching for me 
was the value of the constant trexx_rfc-version which was set to '00006'. 
 
Could it be possible that the error lies in this value? Because I am using TREX-Version 7.10 
and not Trex-Version 6? - Do I have to install another update on the SAP-System to make 
it ready for TREX7.10?

After updating from TREX-Version 7.10.12 to the newest Revision the issue was solved.

This is a known problem with SQL Server 2000, see
Note 1180553 - Syntax error 170 during index creation on SQL 2000
I highly suggest upgrading to SQL Server 2005 or 2008.

Split creation of the index

Hi !
I have a table with more 50 GO of documents and i will create an index for full text search.
The problem is that the creation take a long time and it is problem to create it in a production environment.
It is possible to split the creation of the index. for example 10 GO by 10 GO.

For locally partitioned text indexes, you can rebuild each partition separately. If you have lots of memory and CPUs, then you might be able to rebuild all the partitions simultaneously. As raford suggested, it is a two step process:
1. create the index with nopopulate
2. rebuild each partition in a separate session
eg
ALTER INDEX xxx REBUILD PARTITION xxx PARAMETERS ('replace memory 200M');
Using this technique, I can rebuild a 7M doc/35GB index in about 3 hours.
The index rate for each partition is about 17 docs/sec. I don't know if this is particularly good or bad as a rate per se. I've tried adding "PARALLEL 4" to my rebuild statements and, for at least one partition, it jumped to an astonding 79 docs/sec rate. But contention lock and wait problems ensued for the other partitions, so I need to do more testing of this option.

Does dropping bitmap index and creation of b- index cause any dead locks

Does dropping a bitmap index on table which is being used continuously for DML operations and creation of b- index cause any dead locks on a table
in oracle 10g database
( 10.1.0.4.0 - 64bi).
we have seen alert log file which has dead lock occurrence.. would index change/re-creation resulted dead lock or some other reason?

Bitmap indexes can be the cause of deadlocks on busy systems.
Dropping indexes may cause some locking.
Creating indexes may cause some locking.
You haven't given any traces or scripts or lock information, so difficult to say which one (if any) was the cause of your deadlocks.
It would be better to do this activity when the system is not busy.

Creation of logical index terminated. Join index create error.

After running for a few weeks fine. See my earlier message Delete and recreate BWA index of a cube in process chain.
Chains are "terminating" again. I get the following error messages:

A manual deletion by the program RSDDTREX_INDEX_DELETE and a recreation in RSDDV is necessarry to get the index active.
Has anyone a clue on beforehand what is happening or same experiences, before i put in a SAP OSS message.

Firstly please ensure that no error exists for the cube when you are
trying to create the index. You can check that in RSRV. Also you need
to check if no change run or loading is occuring.
Please also check that you are not using the backup mode mutual
as this can cause the problem, please refer to the SAP note 1383228.

I have a table that has more than 6 million records, due to which performance is slow during the transaction search, kindly let me know if Buffering and creation of secondary indexes will help me.
I am given to understand that creation of seconary indexes and full buffering may not always improve performance. Kindly let me know when it is advised to go for full buffering.

I suposed you are new to ALV's, so i have a sugestion for you.
Instead of CL_GUI_ALV_TREE try to use some examples of CL_GUI_ALV_TREE_SIMPLE. It's much more simple to understand and to work with. For example Report BCALV_TREE_SIMPLE_DEMO.
In this case, to add more nodes to the the you just need to add 3 lines of code in
perform build_sort_table.

I have tried to charge it but it doens't start and when I tried to connect it with my computer it didn't work either.
I saw that you could hold down the "home" button and the "power" button at the same time but my home button doens't work so I can't do that.
Is there any other way I can fix it or do I have to go to an apple store?

Restrict creation of inspection lot for certain work centers

My client needs to restrict the creation of inspection lot at certain work centers although QM is active for all material processed in these work centers.
I am using the function module 'EXIT_SAPLQAAT_002' of QAAT0001 for this purpose. Z04 inspection type ( with Post to insp stock) is maintained for all these material.
A different Z table is there , where material-work center combination is maintained for which no inspection lot is required.
Logic provided so that system searches Material-Work center from production order then compares it with the Material-Work center combination with the maintained Z Table.If both found same then no inspection lot will be generated.
But an error message (Change the inspection stock of material XXXXXX in QM only) appears for all those material while doing confirmation in CO11N . Hence system does not allow to complete confirmation for those material where QM is active.
Please suggest if i am using the correct Exit or any further improvement is required.

Actually the issue is resolved now.The problem was with coding where we were using Table-AFRU for reading prod order details.But AFRU does not consider fresh orders for which it was replaced with AFKO.
Also the Z table must be maintained as Plant-Material-Work center combination prior to go for any order confirmation.

What model iPod do you have? If yo have a 2G iPod. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

Index doesn't work if PDF file resides in RoboHelp Project

If I create a RH8 project and publish, the index works as it should. Each keystroke will change where you are in the Index. If I put a .PDF file in the project, the Index doesn't work -- it no longer recognizes keystrokes and you can only scroll through it.
Does RoboHelp not support PDF files within the project?

Ummm, did I hear you say "Usage Reports"?
That sems to indicate that you are publishing to RoboHelp Server, no? And that piece of information would have been nice to know up front. Please click here for more on why.
If you are indeed using the RoboHelp Server, I'm going to move this thread over into that forum category. But I'll wait to hear back with a confirmation from you before I do.

After My IPod Touch 4th Geneartion was broken I had to fix the screen, which cost me a lot, after a perfect restore through the ITunes I went to connect to my IPod to the WiFi network then the WiFi ON/OFF button Doen't Work, the IPod doesn't show the on/off button in the Settings-> General -> WiFi.
And another problem I encountered during this operation was that the Games I downloaded through the ITunes doesn't work, when I click on the icon ( Game Icon) it starts an then closes in a few seconds

I suspect someone or something in your house may have changed a keyboard preference. Try System Preferences - Keyboard - Keyboard tab - uncheck Use all F1......
