Trouble building project in netbeans 5.0

I am working on a project for school. However, when I run the program I get the following message and the program doesn't display. I do have the setvisible method in the main ,but I am unable to see my project. Can someone please help me regarding why my program is not displaying? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The stack trace tells you exactly what to do:
Open your race.java in a text editor, turn on line number display, and go to line 38. Keep following the stack trace until you find out which reference is null. Figure out what that object is null and fix it.
Looks like a Swing component has a reference to null that it shouldn't.
This has nothing to do with NetBeans.

  • .jar not working when building project with netbeans plugin and log4j

    hey..
subject tells everything..if i build my project referencing log4j, i get a .jar file with 280 kb which is executable
if i add log4j and do some logging, code still works in netbeans, but buildung produces a .jar with 80 kb and an
attached lib-folder with the log4j.jar in it..if i uncheck copy requested libraries, i just get the 80 kb .jar file which
    is not working
    any hints?

Are you building the jar file using the fxdeploy ant task to build the Jar? That is required to have an executable jar file.
Also there was a change to the netbeans project structure, which may be a contributing factor.
Things to try: Upgrade to the latest netbeans 7.1 beta build, set up a new Java platform in nb that includes JavaFX, create a new JavaFX project and build it. This should produce an executable jar.

  • Trouble building kernel module for sensor support

Hi, I'm new here but have been using Arch for a while.  Recently, I decided to install Arch on an old laptop (Toshiba A70) and have managed to work out most of the kinks to where it runs nicely.  Unfortunately, ACPI support is spotty and the /sys/class/thermal directory gives me only cooling_device0.  I installed the lm-sensors package and ran sensors-detect, which yielded no results.  Although the laptop runs smoothly otherwise, I would like to know the CPU's temp so that I would be able to set up a fan control scheme and CPU scaling (so far it's stuck at the lowest frequency, and that's kind of a big deal for me since the laptop runs on an archaic mobile P4 chip).
Sorry for the story but I felt some context was necessary.  I did manage to find a kernel module that would connect those sensors to ACPI for me (http://sourceforge.net/projects/omnibook/), however I'm having trouble building it on the latest kernel.  Here is the output from running make:

  • Build project not working on another computer.

    Hello
I created a java project on Netbeans and I used an external library to create an AIM bot, I used this tutorial to get it setup http://dev.aol.com/creating-aim-enabled-applications-java1 At first I was getting the following error.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no accjwrap in java.library.path

But I clicked on "Clean and Build" for the project and when I move the project to another computer, I get the same errors as the working directory is not the lib folder. Any idea how I can fix this?

Google for java.library.path and find out how to use/set it to locate native libraries.

  • Jar will not launch after upgrading a project to Netbeans 6.5

    Hi,
I created a project in NetBeans about 2 years ago, then I upgraded the project to NetBeans 6.5 just now. The .jar file that is created when I build the project gives me the error:
    C:\>java -jar Checkers.jar
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
    at sun.launcher.LauncherHelper.getMainClassFromJar(Unknown Source)
    at sun.launcher.LauncherHelper.checkAndLoadMain(Unknown Source)
If I create a new project in NetBeans, the jar file it creates will work correctly. It seems to be something related to the upgrade or maybe the state of the original project (I didn't try the .jar file when I was running with the old version of NetBeans.)
Anyway, I need to know how to make the fix from within NetBeans. I look at the project properties and there is an entry point defined. It runs fine from within NetBeans. I don't know what changes to make in the project config to fix this.
    Thanks,
    Bill N.

  • Running j2ee project in netbeans

    Hi,
I have developed an j2ee project in netbeans 6.5.1. But I have a problrm in deploying this. When I build and run the project I got the following error.
Deploying application in domain completed successfully
    Rollback completed successfully
Trying to create reference for application in target server  failed; Bad File parameter in AppDD ctor: E:\project_eps\esubApplication\dist\gfdeploy
E:\project\EPS\EPS-war\nbproject\build-impl.xml:556: The module has not been deployed.
    BUILD FAILED
My project is in the folder E:\Project\EPS...
But it is showied a reference to another project E:\project_eps\esubApplication. Then I removed this application along with all its sub contenets. Now when I run the project it shows a link to another project EPS1 like this
Deploying application in domain completed successfully
    Rollback completed successfully
Trying to create reference for application in target server failed; Cannot find application.xml. Searched for: E:\project_eps\EPS1\dist\gfdeploy\META-INF\application.xml -- perhaps this is not an Application?
E:\project\EPS\EPS-war\nbproject\build-impl.xml:556: The module has not been deployed.
    BUILD FAILED
Now I removed EPS1 project also. But still I'm getting the same error.
My earlier proograms including esubapplication & EPS1 ran successfully.
Please tell me what is the problem and how to set it. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Louis,
You can do it by creating a URL iView for that you need to have content administration rights on portal then you can create URL iView in Portal Content Directory (PCD) and then you can attach it to a page or workset or to a role and then give that role authorization to rquired user.

  • How can I share a *.java source file across multiple projects in NetBeans?

I'm sure this simple and a pretty common operation but how can I share a *.java source file across multiple projects in NetBeans? Right now I keep cut, coping and pasting the same source file between multiple projects to re-use the same code. But I could I make this source file a library file or something like that so that I could access it from any project. I assume this would be a generic operation but I mentioned NetBeans for clarity. Thanks.

If anyone wants to be specific about NetBeans I welcome that too.

    Create a class library.
Write your code, compile it to .class files, put those class files in a .jar file and include the jar file in the classpath whenever you want to compile a project against it.

Try creating a new Flex project and dragging the files from
    the zip into the
src folder. You may find that you need to rearrange things a
    bit, depending
on how they set up the project, but this should get you
    started.

  • DNG SDK build project cannot find the xml sdk

On win7/x64.  Installed dng sdk and all dependencies per the readme files.  xml sdk built OK with vc10 express, as 64 bit static and dll.
But the vc solution for dng_validate has incorrect names for the xml sdk build projects, so it cannot find those components.  Specifically it looks for "..\..\..\xmp_sdk\build\vc\XMPCore.vcxproj".  the actual paths in the xmp sdk are different and longer, like "..\..\..\xmp_sdk\build\vc10\dynamic\windows_x64".  Moreover there is no XMPCore.vcxproj there.
I suppose the real problem may be that the dng sdk project is trying to build it as .net managed code, while the xml sdk was built as open code.  So I guess what I am looking for is a way to build the dng sdk open.

I would confirm your post, but I have not found a solution. I wish someone at Adobe would look into this.

  • Error -17704, Build project failed in CVI

    I'm using CVI7.0 with TS3.0.
When I configure the CVI adapter to be in debug mode, the TS uses tscvirun.prj to run an additional instance of the CVI code for debugging. As soon as TS finishes to load this project I get the run-time error:
Build project failed in CVI for the project c:\....\tscvirun.prj.
Error Code: -17704; CVI ActiveX automation server command failed.
Any idea where to start looking?
p.s. This entire project was copied from another pC where I don't have this problem. I did a lot of comparing between configurations of the two pCs but found nothing.
    Thanks

Does the original tscvirun project that TestStand installs work with the example on the failing system?
To validate this you may need to repair TestStand so that the tscvirun files are refreshed and try the examples to make sure things are working properly on the system before attempting to use the files from the second system.
If you rerun the insaller, one of the available options will be to perform a repair.

Open your .actionScriptProperties file and set useFlashSDK to false.  This will allow you to use your older SDKs.  They are managed in the same way as Flash Builder 4.6 when this option is changed.
