Trouble configuring OC4J with JDeveloper

Hello:
I have installed OC4J 10.1.3 and I want to get JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 to deploy to it. I completed to Application Server wizard using localhost and port 8888 as my settings. When I try to deploy a web app, the deployment pauses indefinitely with just the messages:
---- Deployment started. ---- Feb 18, 2008 11:20:54 AM
Target platform is Standalone OC4J 10g 10.1.3 (OC4J101300).
Wrote WAR file to C:\jdev10133\jdev\mywork\Experiments\A3\deploy\webapp.war
Wrote EAR file to C:\jdev10133\jdev\mywork\Experiments\A3\deploy\webapp.ear
I when I test the connection in the App Server properties it runs forever, too. I tried reading the online documentation to no avail. Is it the localhost and/or port 8888 causing the trouble? How can I find out the correct settings?
Thanks.
Eric

Hi,
have you tried deploying using the Enterprise manager Console?

  • Configuring OC4J with webcache

    Hi All,
I have requirement of configuring OC4J with webcache.
I got an OC4J903 standalone server and webcache is seperately installed.
I am able to get the webchacheadmin screen and i am now stuck with how to go ahead.
    looking forward for help.
    thanks in advance,
    Sudha

I assume the Web Cache you have is the 9.0.2.0 standalone. First of all, patch your Web Cache 9.0.2.0 standalone to the latest level you can find on Metalink. This is currently 9.0.2.2bp1 (on Solaris).
(You can use Web Cache 9.0.2.x with OC4J 9.0.3.x.)
Next, follow the steps in the Oracle9iAS Web Cache Administration and Deployment Guide, accessible from OTN. Chapter 6 of this guide is a good place to start, although Parts I and II are useful in their entirety.
Your basic steps are going to be:
    - access the Web Cache Manager admin UI (hostname:4000 is the default); default uname/pwd is administrator/administrator
    - make sure Web Cache is listening on the desired port(s)
    - define a site
    - configure application web server settings (in this case, your OC4J standalone) from which to fetch fresh content
    - configure site-to-server mappings; you can map more than one application server to a site (enables load balancing)
    - configure caching, compression and expiration rules and/or modify your application to use ESI
    - don't forget to apply changes and restart
Still, I would really advise using the manual and online help to get started. It's easy once you grasp the concepts described in the manual.

  • Problem installing CIS Admin on Preconfigured OC4J with JDeveloper 11g

    Hi,
I'm trying to setup a CIS installation with JDeveloper 11g's OC4J. The CIS Server was installed successfully and the home page for that application came up. I was able to deploy the CIS Admin application, but trying to access it gives me the following error (first regarding the permissions and then about the name not found exception). Can someone please advise...

  • Unable to start OC4J with JDeveloper 903

    Hello,
I got the following error message when I try to start the oc4j shipped with jdev903. Could anyone please let me know why I am getting the error message below, and how to fix it:
Java path is poiting to e:\jdk1.3.1_07

Do I need to report this error to Sun or Oracle?
How do I fix this error?
    Thanks.

This one should go to Sun.
Try OC4J with the VM installed with JDeveloper. Also, you might want to try 1.3.1_02 (just to see if that works on your machine)

  • Deploy to SatndAlone OC4J with Jdeveloper

I install Jdeveloper and Standalone Oc4J on seperate machines
when I try to deploy an application to Oc4J, always failed ,error cann't find admin.jar
It seems that JD always find admin.jar locally,.As Standalone Oc4J and JD are't on the same server, I cann't deploy successfully.
Standalone Oc4J and JD must be on the same server?
    Does anyone have other ideas?
    thanks in advance.

JDeveloper and OC4J don't need to be on the same server when you deploy an application. You can enter a remote machine in the URL. The admin.jar has to be local though. (Unless you use OC4J 10.1.3 and use the enterprise manager to deploy the application)
Did you make a connection in JDeveloper to the remote OC4J? You can test this connection and then use this connection when you deploy the application.
What versions of JDeveloper and the standalone OC4J are you using?
In JDeveloper10.1.2 you can specify where the admin.jar is located (right click the oc4j connection, click properties, select the connection tab). The admin jar needs to be local.
I think that some versions of JDeveloper are not completely compatible with some versions of the standalone OC4J. If you use another version of the OC4J, you might need to copy it to the machine where JDeveloper is located and point JDeveloper to it in the connection tab.
    Hope this helps,

  • Trouble configuring X with fglrx

    Hi there
Complete arch newbie here, but bear with me. I've installed catalyst using the repository as described in the wiki article, and run aticonfig --initial to generate an xorg.conf. However, I get errors when I try to start X; my screen flickers for a moment and I receive an error message:
(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0@1 :0 :01) found
In an attempt to fix this I copied a good known configuration for X from my previous Ubuntu installation but I get exactly the same error message.
    Here's my Xorg.0.log: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/214742/
    Xorg.conf: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/214743/
Any idea how I can get X running? I'm pretty much stuck without access to my laptop

It might be easier to just use the xf86-video-ati driver.
    I'll try those things

  • Configure OC4J with other JDBC Drivers

I want to add ability for OC4J to use mySQL JDBC drivers.
Normally in the J2EE RI you would copy the driver and then use the j2eeadmin tool.
Does anyone have info on getting this to work in OC4J (so I can test EJBs that use that DB).
Note: I did get mySQL working for the JDeveloper9i IDE to get it to work in the IDE I just added a line to C:\jdev9i_902\jdev\binjdev.conf:
    AddJavaLibFile C:/mm.mysql-2.0.14/mm.mysql-2.0.14-bin.jar

  • Facelets with JDeveloper

    Hi all,
Can anybody please help me to configure facelets with JDeveloper .The facelets page should have .jspx extension instead of .xhtml extensions..is there any tutorial to setup facelets to Jdeveloper with .jspx extensions.
    Thanks,
    Anand.

    From the documentation referred.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16162_01/user.1112/e17455/dev_wpt.htm#OJDUG3574
    What The Facelet Wizard Does
When you create a facelet the necessary classpath and deployment files are modified to use facelet technology in the following ways:
Example 11-4 Facelet Code Added to Your faces-config.xml
    +<application>+
    +<view-handler> .com.sun.facelets.FaceletViewHandler</view-handler>+
    +&lt/application>+
This is added to ensure you view your facelets correctly, and not with the default mappings.
Not required. Actually, com.sun.facelets.FaceletViewHandler is the JSF 1.2 view handler and would make the Facelet JSF 1.2.
Example 11-5 Facelet Code Added to Your Web.xml
    +<context-param>+
    +<param-name> Facelets.VIEW_MAPPINGS </param-name>+
    +<param-value> *.xhtml</param-value>+
    +</context-param>+
    Not required.

  • Using Struts with JDeveloper, BC4J and OC4J 9.0.2

Is it feasible to use Struts with JDeveloper 9.0.2, BC4J 9.0.2 and OC4J 9.0.2? We have an application that uses the BC4J JBO tags in version 9.0.2. We wish to use Struts and we want to retain the use of the JBO tags. Is there a way to do this without upgrading to 9.0.3?

    Here are two related questions:
Can we upgrade to oracle9iAS 9.0.3 yet still use JDeveloper 9.0.2 and BC4J/JBO 9.0.2?

I am using J2SE1.4.2_08 version. Earlier when I used java 5 version I got an error something like "Found runtime environment 49.0 expected environment is 48.0"....so I moved over to J2SE1.4.2_08 version but now I am getting above error as shown in the stack trace.
Looking at the success message shown in the OTN tutorial it seems that only step that failed while this deployment is Initialization of servlet : Oracle.j2ee.ws.server.JAXRPCServlet for webapplication Webservices.

Hi, thanks for your quick help.
Shay, I agree with you that the specific tutorial uses JDeveloper 10.1.3 and I need to use JDK 5 to run that version of JDeveloper.
Earlier when I used JDK 5 with JDeveloper 10.1.3, I got different error saying "Found runtime environment 49.0 expected environment is 48.0".....so I moved over to J2SE1.4.2_08 version but now I am getting an error as shown in the stack trace given in the very first post to this thread.

  • How to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database

    hi every one
my requrirement is to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database with (thin driver)
    thanks in advance

    Prapan,
JDev 11g TP4 comes with 11g JDBC drivers, which do not support connecting to any database v 9.0.1 or earlier.
So, back to you... depends upon what you want to do. If you want to write your own code to connect to a database using 11g, get ahold of some JDBC drivers that support 8i and have away. If you're talking about getting the database development stuff (e.g. the embedded SQLDeveloper) to work, you're probably out of luck.
So, please define "configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database"
