Trouble converting a complicated navigation into a library item

I am having trouble converting our main navigation into a
library item. The navigation includes many images, layers and
behaviors. You can see the nav at the top of
http://www.vedanta.org as you
scroll over the main topics just under the banner.
I built the nav from scratch on a new XHTML page and it works
fine. Then I did Edit/Select All and the entire nav was selected.
But when I choose Modify/Library/Add Object to Library, absolutely
nothing happens, nothing appears in the library at all.
Is this navigation too complicated to be saved as a Library
item?
Nancy

DW is having a little trouble interpreting your GL code. For
example, the
menu is here -
<div id="rkou">
<a onMouseOver="CSAction(new
Array(/*CMP*/'B9B0A14425',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14427',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14429',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14431',/*C MP*/'B9B0A14433',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14435',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14437',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14439',/*CMP*/'B9B0A 14441',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14443',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14445',/*CMP*/'B9B0A14447'));return
true;" href="#"
csover="B9B0A14425,B9B0A14427,B9B0A14429,B9B0A14431,B9B0A14433,B9B0A14435,B9B0A14437,B9B0 A14439,B9B0A14441,B9B0A14443,B9B0A14445,B9B0A14447"><img
src="images/navigation/rkou.gif" alt="" height="18"
width="166"
border="0"></a></div>
DW will be flummoxed trying to put this into a Library item.
Either rebuild the menu in DW, or try this -
copy everything from -
<div id="wivu"> (line286)
through -
<p></p> (line 322)
inclusive, and paste it into a new Library item (FILE | New
> Library item).
Save that file in the Library folder with the *.lbi
extension.
When you insert it into a page, MAKE SURE THAT THE PAGE
ALREADY HAS ALL OF
THE GL CODE IN THIS LINKED PAGE IN THE HEAD.
See if that works.

  • SharePoint 2013---How to convert current left Navigation into tree view

    Hi All,
    I want to convert current left navigation into tree view in SharePoint 2013. When we click on Modify Navigation and set headers and links; I need that should be convert into tree view. All headers should be expandable to thier links.
    I just want tree view on navigation headers and links. not for all site and subsites which we can enabled from site settings --> Modify All Site settings --> Tree view
    Please help me Master Page editing on Navigation Generation.. Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Anna

    Hi Anna,
    If you want to replace the Quick Launch part with the custom treeview web part in master page, you can comment out or remove the quick launch code block "<!--SPM:<SharePoint:SPNavigationManager id="QuickLaunchNavigationManager.....>....<>-->",
    then insert the custom web part snippet code in proper location in seattle master page, then all pages inheriting the seattle master page will have this web part.
    Note, please back up the master page before customizing the original master page for recovery.

  • Navigation bar  as library item

    I know I'm missing something obvious here but I thought a
    navigation bar was an obvious choice for a library item. I had
    created a nav bar on one template and then saved as a new template
    to create the second one. I want to make changes to the nav bar
    that will affect both. I saved the nav bar in the library items but
    now when I try to place it from library to each of the templates I
    get a message about a code error. Is there a better way to use one
    nav bar throughout the site?

    > I saved the nav bar in the library items

    > message about a code error.
    as a guess, did you add "behaviors" to the navigation bar
    that is now a
    library item?
    for a smallish site, use a dw template. The "behaviors" will
    work and there
    are work-arounds if doing something strange.
    for a larger site or if the item will be frequently changed,
    consider SSI
    server side includes.

  • Saving Navigation Bar as Library Item with CSS working?

    I have created a simple navigation bar with a separate color for "over" and saved it as a library item. A warning box indicates that the item may not work the same as the original as the CSS may not be copied. What is the simplest method for correcting this?

    If your html docs are linked to an external stylesheet, they will get their styles from the CSS file.
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/DW-Link-Stylesheet.shtml
    I highly recommend using server-side includes instead of Library Items for menus.  A server-side include file is easier to maintain by editing one file and uploading it to your server. With Library Items you must make changes to the Library Item and then re-publish all pages containing that item.

  • Trouble converting Word 2010 file into PDF

    I have a file that was original composed in Word 2007.  It has a box with dialog on the front page (think a disclaimer on the cover of a brochure).  I use Acrobat 9 Pro.  Converting that file was perfect.  I recently upgraded to Word 2010 and I open, edit and save the document in compatibility mode.  When I print to Adobe (or alternatively convert the file), the disclaimer in the text box doesn't convert properly.  The rest of the document looks fine, but the text in the box is smushed to the far right of the box.  I have no idea what to do.  Another person I sent the file to has no issues converting from Word 2007.  Is there a known issue with Word 2010?  Is there a fix or plug-in?  Thanks all.

    Adobe has not formally tested Acrobat 9 software with Microsoft Office 2010 applications and does not certify the behavior of using the two together.
    The Acrobat ribbons, also known as Acrobat PDFMaker, do not work with Office 2010 applications the same way they do with Office 2007. Customers using Acrobat 9.0 through 9.2 will see the Acrobat ribbon in Office 2010 applications; however, attempting to use PDFMaker functionality from the Acrobat ribbon can result in unexpected behavior. Customers who update to Acrobat 9.3 or later will not see the Acrobat 9 ribbon in Office 2010 applications.
    Adobe plans to add support for its Acrobat PDFMaker technology for Office 2010 in the next major version of Acrobat.*
    We have not made any announcements about updating Acrobat 9 PDFMakers for Office 2010.

    I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. I have a document with a lot of large scale maps 11x 17 paper size (which were saved as PDFs) before they were put into the document. When I tried creating a PDF of this Doc. 8 of these large maps didn't get included or in some cases only small  parts of the map, a dot or an arrow show but nothing else.
    I tried taking it to Staples but they couldn't help. We tried creating a PDF by scanning it page by page.  It worked but the file size is to big to send through  channels (government). When I tried opening it with Preview 5 and saving it as a PDF and using the quartz filter to reduced the size but the quality made it unreadable.

  • Tab navigation bar library item?

    On my site:
    http://vectorworksexchange.com/index.html
    I made the tab navigation bar a library item. Doing so caused me to lose the current page highlighted tab on the active page (like the Home tab looks now). I'm not sure how to get that back. Can it be done when the tab navigation is a library item?

    Make a back-up of your site folder and then try the below solution:
    Give your <li> tags individual ids as below:
    <ol id="toc">
        <li id="index"><a href="index.html"><span>Home</span></a></li>
        <li id="topics"><a href="topic_ideas.html"><span>Topic Ideas</span></a></li>
        <li id="meetings"><a href="past_meetings.html"><span>Past Meetings</span></a></li>
        <li id="resources"><a href="resources.html"><span>Resources</span></a></li>
        <li id="gallery"><a href="member_gallery.html"><span>Member Gallery</span></a></li>
        <li id="facebook"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=107562565951462"><span>VWX on Facebook</span></a></li>
    </ol>
    Then take the 'current' class out of the main css style sheet and insert the below in the index.html code in the <head> section:
    <style type="text/css">
    /* page marker */
    ol#toc #index a  {
    background-color: #48f;
    background-position: 0 -60px;
    color: #fff;
    font-weight: bold;
    ol#toc #index span {
        background-position: 100% -60px;
    </style>
    Insert the below code in the topic_ideas.html page code in the <head> section
    <style type="text/css">
    /* page marker */
    ol#toc #topics a  {
    background-color: #48f;
    background-position: 0 -60px;
    color: #fff;
    font-weight: bold;
    ol#toc #topics span {
        background-position: 100% -60px;
    </style>
    Get the idea?
    past_meetings.html page:
    <style type="text/css">
    /* page marker */
    ol#toc #meetings a {
    background-color: #48f;
    background-position: 0 -60px;
    color: #fff;
    font-weight: bold;
    ol#toc #meetings span {
        background-position: 100% -60px;

  • Question about using library items in forms

    After a long time I am again returning to this perpetual fountain of Dreamweaver knowledge.
    I am converting a site from AGL to DW. In AGL I used a separate template for the forms (there are over 10) and used "components" to create the different forms. Each form shared features with other forms but were not identical, all together 5 components. When I converted over to DW the 5 compnents were made into 5 "library items" but neither the form template or the library items work, by that I mean they do not update if I make a change.
    Hence I want to make 5 new library items to use in the forms my question is this: when I choose an item to put in the form like a text field or radio button I always get this window.
    Though I read the documentation I am still not really clear about the "style" option so I just choose "no label tag." What is this used for? Any examples of how it is used?
    Regarding "position" before or after the item, what is this all about? I have been choosing "after form item" but I don't really know what the difference is and what advantages or disadvantages acrue from these choices.
    Regarding "Access key" and "Tab index" I sort of have the idea of what it is about but an example of how they work in action would clear up any nebulosity.
    But my real puzzle is with the following which pops up at the end when I am inserting a form items.
    Since the library items are not separate forms in themselves I have NOT added the form tag because my reasoning is that when I make the new form templates it will have the requisite form tags. Am I correct in this line of thinking? Or do I have to add form tags every time I add form elements to a form? I really don't want to have to do the whole thing over again if I get it wrong. So if one of you kind souls could guide me in doing it right the first time I would really appreciate it.
    I am using a MBP, OS X 10.6.8, DW CS6
    BvL

    To declare constants create a Package-Specification in a pll and deifne all your constants there, something like:
    PACKAGE PK_CONSTANTS IS
      RC_SUCCESS CONSTANT PLS_INTEGER := 1;
      RC_FAILURE CONSTANT PLS_INTEGER := 0;
      RC_YEAR_DATA_NOT_FOUND := 50;
    END;Then attach that pll to all your forms-modules, and use it like
    IF rc = PK_CONSTANTS.RC_YEAR_DATA_NOT_FOUND THEN
    END IF;A word about exceptions or errors: In my eyes its clearer (and in case of exceptions even better) to raise an exception than to hide it behind return-codes.

  • Library items/javascript/paths

    i am rebuilding a company website which uses a library item
    for their navigation:
    http://www.curiouspictures.com/
    i am simply cleaning up the html and all unnecessary

    i have a new navigation layout that was built from this

    put it on all of the rebuilt pages. sadly, this lib item doesn't
    show it's square menu images on certain pages. i am completely
    stumped. do i have to include corresponding javascript in the
    actual library item?
    all of my html pages are either located within the root
    folder or one sub folder. no html is below that.
    the images are located in an /img folder in the root.
    is this a path issue or possibly a javascript issue?
    let me know if you need more info on what i am doing.

  • Multiple Body tags error when using library items

    Hi all,
    I have a navbar that I created in FW and exported as a DW
    library item. When I drag and drop the library item (navbar) into a
    site page, I get an error every time I try to save that page. The
    error states that the body tag was in the wrong place and has been
    moved to the right place. The problem is never fixed though and I
    keep being spammed by the error dialog.
    In reviewing the code, it appears that the library item has
    its own body and preload. So adding the library item to the page
    causes a duplication of the body tags and preload images code.
    Any thoughts as to how I can fix this or avoid it would be
    greatly appreciated.

    You are right, no <htm> <body> or css styles go
    into a library item.

  • Blanks around library items

    Hi there,
    I've got an annoying problem with DW 8.0.2 for MacOS X.
    Whenever I update a library item that is enclosed by blanks in my
    code, the blanks around it will vanish, whenever I apply the
    changes to all pages containing the library item. I.e., the code
    looks like this before the update:
    ... Please <!-- #BeginLibraryItem
    "/Library/register_here.lbi" --><a
    href="../../cgi-bin/UMapps/register.pl">register
    here</a><!-- #EndLibraryItem --> to get...

    "/Library/register_here.lbi" --><a

    Is this a bug, or is there a way to get DW to keep the

  • Again Library Item

    Hi All,
    I have coding to place Library Item into the Page Layout, my Script placing the library Item into that parent Page,
    But my Problem is I can not place XMLElement Into that Library Element Box.
    Here is my Script:
    myDoc.select(myElement);
                var mySideBarXML = app.selection[0];
                try  {
                                    myAsset = myCurrentLib.assets.item("Box");   // Name of the library item is "bx1"
                    myLibraryItem = myAsset.placeAsset(myElement.insertionPoints[-1]);
      catch (err)   {
                    alert ("There is no library element with the name Box");
                    exit();
                // TO PLACE TEXT IN LIBRARY ITEM
              try {
                    myLibraryItem[0].textFrames[0].placeXML(mySideBarXML);   // if the library element is group of frames.
                catch (ee)  {
                    try {
                        myLibraryItem[0].placeXML(mySideBarXML);   // if the library element is a single frame.
                    catch (ee) { }
    can any one help on this.
    Regards
    Hurix

    Hi hurix,
    Are you try the above requirement in manually, You can't do even manually, because you already placed the library item into the XML text in between, again you drag the you respective box element xml text into the box, definitely its shown the error in InDesign like this...("Elements cannot be placed into an inline").
    Now, what you have to do it for your requirement to meet. First you placed the library item into the respective page, then placed the box xml element content into the library item text frame.
    try{
        var mySideBarXML = myElement;
        var myLibraryItem = app.libraries[0].assets.item("Box").placeAsset(myDoc)[0];// here you give the page, i.e., you selection element text parent page;
        myLibraryItem.move(mySideBarXML.xmlContent.parentTextFrames[0].parentPage);
         try {
             myLibraryItem.textFrames[0].placeXML(myElement);   // if the library element is group of text frame.
         catch (ee) {
             myLibraryItem.placeXML(myElement);// single text frame no group.

    How come no voice memo files show up when I go into my iPhone via My Computer?  All it shows are the videos and pictures in the DCIM folder, but not the voice memos.  Is there another way to access the voice memos other than through iTunes?

    Email it to yourself, then save the file and then see if you can convert it to MP3.

    Switch (free basic version) - http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html  - I'm not sure if this will do WMA
    All2MP3 - http://download.cnet.com/All2MP3/3000-2140_4-190407.html - mixed success with WMA
    Flip4mac - need the intermediate payware version which lets you convert.  Use with Quicktime player.Flip4Mac - http://dynamic.telestream.net/downloads/download-flip4macwmv.asp?prodid=flip4mac wmv  - The free version will let Quicktime play but not convert Windows Media files.
    After installation a new Flip4Mac pane will appear in System Preferences.  Make sure you set the boxes to ensure that it will play WMV files in Quicktime.
